“I’d pay to see that,” Archie said.

I giggled and sniffled.

“I’d pay to hear Corey’s explanation for why he’s bidding on so many expensive items,” Daddy noted. “That’s why we came over here.”

Oops?

“What’s he bidding on?” Greer asked.

“Kit’s air show trip, for one,” Archie said.

“Franklin’s cruise gift card, for another,” Daddy replied. “Do you have plans you wish to tell us about?”

I shook my head and wiped at my face. “No, Sir. I was thinking I’d tell you while we pack our bags next year.”

He rumbled a chuckle and combed his fingers through my hair. But then he tugged at it a little and forced me to look him in the eye.

“You know, when you went overboard with all the groceries, we didn’t tell you to aim for something even more outrageous the next time,” he pointed out.

“Yeah, this was why I didn’t wanna tell you.” I scratched my nose. “But I have needs, Daddy.”

Greer barked out a laugh. “Oh, he’s got needs. I see.”

“Yes, needs,” I huffed. Damn straight, I got real huffy here. “Okay? I love seeing new places, and I want getaway weekends with my Daddy, sand between my toes, yucky saltwater in my eyes, food festivals with Archie where he feeds me a million delicious things, sadisty trips with you, vacations with the kids, and to be able to introduce you to my grandmother in Denmark.”

So there!

“I would very much like for this to be my way to contribute to the family,” I said firmly. Seriously. “Sign me up for chores around the house—especially taking care of Buddy and Beast—and maybe we can buy bunnies and pygmy goats and pigs I can look after—” I ignored the range of shock and amusement on their faces. “I will be there for all of it. But this is the real world, and money is a factor too. And I talked to Kit about this—”

“Whoa, you talked to Kit about what?” Greer cocked his head at me, showing more curiosity than anything else.

I shrugged. “Money and stuff.”

There came a point in every relationship when it was time to discuss finances. Was an auction the best moment? Probably not, but here we were, and I was a rambler, and I had talked to Kit. ’Cause he was born into wealth, and he had two Daddies who’d done well for themselves but were by no means loaded.

I wasn’t loaded either, far from it, but I was very comfortable.

“He said we all contribute in different ways,” I went on. “And I wanna bring something good to the table too. Well, it’s your house, Pop. You practically built it all on your own, and Archie makes sure everything runs like a well-oiled machine and that we don’t die of starvation. Daddy produced enough kids so we can start our own village, and you and Archie will definitely have another kid too, ’cause let’s face it, Archie is a man on a mission, and you’re totally baby-whipped. So that leaves me.” I sucked in a deep breath and suddenly felt my ears grow warm.

My God. Why was I bringing all this up now? I was pushing. I was speeding ahead too fast.

“I’m sorry.” Fuck. Deep breaths. We had people all around us. My eyes prickled, and I folded my arms over my chest. “I didn’t mean for all this to come out now. I’ve just… I’ve been thinking a lot about the future lately, now that I have one.”

“No, keep going,” Greer murmured. “I wanna hear.”

I swallowed against the dryness in my throat. He seemed sincere.

Archie slipped his hand into mine and gave it a squeeze.

Okay. I’d gotten most of it out already, so I might as well finish, despite the embarrassment.

“Since you took me in, I’ve felt such peace in my mind,” I confessed. “There’s less noise, I can concentrate easier, and I don’t have to suppress or force any emotions. And I wanna give you that break too. You all work so damn hard, and even if I ease the workload by helping out, which I obviously want to do, I want to make sure no one gets too stressed out. And also, we’re kinky. We need time to nurture our kinky dynamics. Right? I want Greer and Daddy to be able to get away for a weekend and just chill. I want all of us to get those moments, like I said before.” I took a chance and glanced up at Daddy, finding him watching me with affection in his eyes. It gave me a boost. Phew. “I want us to do everything together,” I said quietly. “And for as long as we keep certain things discreet in front of the kids, like how our two relationships are really just one, I think it’s important we get time together every now and then. So that we can get the best of both worlds.”
