Nuts.

“Okay, here we are, little boy.” Daddy pulled into the drop-off zone.

I eyed the people rushing back and forth outside Daddy’s rental. Everyone had so much luggage.

“Do you remember what we talked about yesterday?” he asked.

“Yes, Sir.” I twisted in my seat and faced him better. “I will not eat too much fried chicken, I will not spend all day playing games on my phone, and I will be mindful about how much space I take up.”

It was impossible to say that last thing without suffering another crushing blow of embarrassment. I couldn’t believe I’d never noticed it myself, but Daddy had informed me. Especially out in Mclean, he said I tended to be overbearing.

“That’s a good boy.” Daddy reached over and touched my cheek. “This means you don’t have to engage in every type of play they offer at the house tomorrow. Sometimes it’s okay to sit one out and watch others. Let Greer spend some time with his partners without you interrupting.”

I chewed on my lip and dropped my gaze. I supposed I could have a drink with Kit and Shay. I bet Cam and Noa would be there too.

“Okay.” I nodded and placed my headphones around my neck. “I won’t bother them.” It was clearly not in the cards for me to get more than a few pain sessions with Greer.

Just as well. If I was moving to Denver, I should stop trying to get to know everyone in our community, including Greer’s new boyfriends. He had two of them! Their triad was major gossip in our online forum because it was very new. I’d followed the whispers since they’d begun.

Greer was leaving many single subs disappointed.

Daddy hooked a finger under my chin and made me look at him. “Will you miss me?”

I nodded automatically and smiled. “Always. Will you FaceTime me on my birthday?”

Because someone—me, it was totally me—turned twenty-four next week.

“If you’re a good boy for me, I will do my best find the time,” he vowed.

I would be a good boy!

But now, it was time to fly home. I leaned over and kissed Daddy hard, and I told him I loved him so, so much. I owed him everything, after all. If it weren’t for him, who knew where I’d be today.

“I love you too, sweetling. Text me when you land. I’d ask you to call, but I have to have that conversation with Jonathan. I assume he will be upset.”

Right. I did not need the details of that. What Daddy did with his other Littles was none of my business, and I didn’t like the reminder. I wasn’t sure it mattered anymore anyway, ’cause they were all in DC—except for one guy who lived in Texas—and Daddy and I were on our way to move to freaking Denver. I was his primary boy. It was me he was bringing with him.

I left the car and grabbed my luggage and my backpack with a sensation of both relief and worry. It would be so nice to come home again; I just had no idea how to process. Me, moving to Colorado? I didn’t like the cold! And Mom lived in DC, and Lane and Alva… All my friends. “DC” was listed as my hometown on Twitter. It was a lot to take in. A lot to change.

Guilt weighed in too. I was an ungrateful brat for not jumping all in with Daddy. He said this move was going to be wonderful for us—and that we needed a fresh start. Considering how many things I missed in my everyday life, I would be wise to trust him. I’d probably missed seeing the obvious perks of moving.

Feeling out of sorts and in no way ready for the miles-long line through security, I put on my headphones and gave my all to shut out the world. Gaze pinned straight ahead, phone in my hand, music in my ears. Happy music. A girl with a lovely voice telling me that life sucked sometimes, but we could do a lot to improve our mood.

Sway, sway, sway—when I’m feeling blue, I will sway, sway, sway to the music.

As I waited, I couldn’t help but think back on Greer. I guessed I could admit I’d harbored a puppy crush on him for at least a year or so. Nothing deep or anything, but he was just so damn awesome. He was the kindest, most helpful, gentle giant ever. A complete Sadist and strict Master, with a wicked, creative mind. He’d never made me feel like I was in the way. Quite the opposite. Sometimes, if we were at the same party, he’d wink at me from across the room, making me feel special.

His two new boyfriends were very lucky. I’d lurked around their online profiles a bit, but they had no pictures up. I just knew that “Archie” was Greer’s slave, and a man named Sloan was listed as his co-Top and partner. Sloan, in turn, was a Daddy Dom with “sadistic tendencies.”
