“You look stressed. C’mere, I’ll rub your shoulders.” I reach up and dig my thumbs into the rigid swell of muscle beside his neck, babbling. “Yikes, yes, your muscles are like boulders.”

His face is still hidden behind his hand. “This is a bad idea.”

Crap, he doesn’t want to flirt. “I’m sorry.” I snatch my hands back. “If you’re not interested–”

“Not interested?” He glowers at me and puts my hand right on the front of his jeans. His cock prods my palm. “I’m interested, babygirl.” He breathes in my ear. “I’m two seconds away from ripping off your pretty pink outfit and seeing how sweet your pussy tastes.”

I let out a half squeak, half whimper.

He leans over me. His head drops to the curve of my neck. My spine loosens, and my insides heat. The pine-scented air of the cabin is too thick to breathe.

“Teddy–”

“Shhhh.” He nuzzles my jaw, rubbing my soft cheek with his blond scruff. I’m swooning in the scent of him when he mutters, “Fuck it.” He turns his head and takes my mouth with his.

Teddy tastes like mint and honey. I arch into him as he cups the back of my neck, holding me still for his plunder. My breasts are swollen, my nipples are tight and threatening to cut through the reinforced shelf bra in my camisole. It’s too much. It’s not enough. I need more.

He shoves down my camisole and sucks on one eager nipple then the other. I grind my clit down on his massive dick. I surge up right at the same time he pushes closer. The move knocks our heads together, and I groan.

Dang it!

“Shit, Lana. You're still hurt.” He pulls away and tugs his shirt down.

“Me? I’m fine. What about you? He got you a few times.” His cut isn’t bleeding any more, but there’s still that bruise. Covering it with a t-shirt isn’t going to make me forget it. “Do you need Matthias to check you out?”

“No. I’ll just be a minute. Gonna clean up.” He bounds up and disappears into the bedroom.

I bite my lip. I guess badass mountain men tape themselves up after a fight.

The front door opens and Matthias strolls in. His doctor’s bag is a bit dusty from the showdown in front of the cabin, but he’s smiling. “How’s Teddy?”

“He says he’s fine.”

Matthias chuckles at my doubtful tone. “As long as he’s up and breathing without wheezing, he’ll be all right.”

Geez. How bad do these brother fights get?

“It’s okay, Lana.” Matthias reads my face all too well. “Barely a day goes by without one of my brothers punching another for no good reason."

“I see. Good thing you’re a doctor.”

“Yeah, good thing. I’m going to head out, follow Darius, make sure he gets off the mountain. You need to take it easy.” He picks up the bag of frozen blueberries, wipes off the condensation and hands it to me.

“Yes, Doctor.” I put the bag to my head, wincing at the cold. I can hear Teddy moving around the bedroom behind the shut door, so I add, in a whisper, “I take it Darius doesn’t visit often?”

“Not Teddy. I keep in touch with him. He did pay for my medical schooling.”

There are so many questions I want to ask. “Will he be okay? He sent his ride away.”

“There’s a helicopter pad nearby. He can pick up a ride there. Or one of our brothers can give him a ride. Axel’s headed down the mountain. Have you met Axel yet?”

I shake my head. “You and Darius are the only brothers I’ve met. I would remember someone named Axel.”

“I’m sure you’ll meet the whole crew before long. Teddy is our big brother. Everyone looks up to him.”

I try to sort through all the accusations Teddy and Darius threw at each other, but it’s too much. I hug my knees to my chest. “Maybe I shouldn’t stay here. I could go. I’m in the way.”

“No,” Teddy barks from the bedroom.

“You’re not in the way,” Matthias soothes.

“Okay.” I can stay here for at least one night. I let my head fall back against the couch cushions. “But after all that excitement, I need to lie down.”

“Rest,” Matthias commands and nods to Teddy before leaving and gently closing the cabin door.

Teddy paces towards me. He cleaned up and changed into a new white t-shirt–identical to the one he was wearing before. The cut on his face is healing fast. The skin was split before he went into the bedroom but not now. His head is down, and he seems to be studying his bare feet. He fought barefoot against his brother. Wild man.

“I'm sorry you had to see that,” Teddy mutters.

“Oh no, it was interesting. I learned a lot.”

Teddy raises a brow.

“No, seriously, it was a masterclass in how to piss you off.” I hold up a finger. “First step, use your full name.” Teddy doesn’t laugh, so I try a new tack. “It’s okay. That’s how family is, right? Siblings hold the nuclear codes to your temper. They know just what buttons to push.”
