Lash was not going to let Luke go just yet.

“Meet me at the clubhouse, I’ll be there.”

He looked toward the door he had just vacated. No one else knew he had found Luke, or that he’d chained him up. He was not on death’s door, not yet. There was going to be plenty of time to send him there.

Lash made his way back to his bike, climbed on, and took off, heading back to town, and riding through Fort Wills. Several people stopped to watch him. Over the years the club had gone in and out of favor with the locals. In recent years, they were in favor, because they supported the locals as well as businesses and everything in between. The club no longer brought war to the streets. They helped keep it safe.

Arriving back at the clubhouse, he saw his brother was outside, shining up his bike. “Your son’s in your office,” Nash said. “You want to tell me what is going on?”

“No.”

He was still close to his brother, but there were some things he couldn’t share with anyone.

No one else bothered to stop him, and for that he was thankful. He was not in the mood to deal with shit today. He missed being the old Lash. The guy that just shot to kill, and asked questions later.

The Billionaire Bikers MC hadn’t made him soft but had made him question fucking everything, and that drove him insane.

He knew there were bad people out there. He’d dealt with them and tried to kill as many as he could. Billionaires didn’t just want to kill them. They wanted to serve and protect, and put them away for life. They wanted to do it the hard way. Lash got it, as it meant they could sleep easier, but it didn’t make the job easy.

He had seen the state of some of the women and children. The men who did that sickened him.

Stepping into his office, he saw Anthony and a lot of paperwork spread across the desk.

“I know you’ve got Luke, but that guy is not the enemy.”

“He’s one of them.”

“He pledged his loyalty to me and the club.”

“You are not the one in charge here,” Lash said.

“For fuck’s sake, Dad, don’t you see? He saw what was happening, he didn’t agree, and built this up. He found the evidence. Isn’t that what you need to deal with the Billionaires?” Anthony asked. “I’ve got to talk to him. Whatever you’ve done, he doesn’t deserve.”

Chapter Nine

A Moment in Time...

“I thought I would find you here,” Anthony said.

Daisy spun around to look at him. She wore one of the favorite summer dresses he loved to see her in. It was a pastel pink that seemed to bring out the sparkle in her eyes.

“And you didn’t have to go far to look,” Daisy said.

“I never do.”

She smiled. “I thought you were busy. Club stuff.”

“There is always club stuff. We’re going on another run in three days.”

“Do you know why?” Daisy asked.

Anthony looked at her. There was rarely a secret between them. They both knew what the club did now, the dangers they took in trying to protect everyone.

“There’s a shipment of ten girls. We’ve got the location. Billionaires have everything covered. Dad’s taking care of the rest.”

Daisy nodded and turned back to look at the lake. “I hate they have to go through that.”

“Me too.”

“Are you sure you care?”

“I care.”

Daisy chuckled. “This, coming from a guy who doesn’t claim to care about anyone or anything.” She let out a tut. “You surprise me.”

He moved close and she surprised him by letting out a sigh, and then slowly she started to pull her summer dress up and over her head.

Anthony paused and admired the curve of her back. She wore a bra and a pair of panties, and he felt his cock start to harden.

Daisy glanced over her shoulder at him, and there was that sweet innocent smile that drove him wild. “Do you see something you like?”

“You know I do.”

Again, another giggle.

She reached behind her, releasing the catch of her bra. No one was around, and it was warm out. The last rays of sunlight shone over them, and it was getting impossibly tight around his cock.

He wanted her. That was never going to change.

She wriggled out of her panties and then stepped into the water. She continued to make her way into the lake, and then once she was covered by the water, she turned toward him.

“It’s quite warm,” she said.

He moved closer to the edge of the lake. “You’re a temptation, you know that, right?”

“I didn’t say you couldn’t come in and join me, but it does mean you’ll have to get naked while you do it.”

There was a soft head tilt to the side.

There was no way he could deny her anything. Sharing the lake with her, naked, he loved when they were like this. They rarely got this opportunity. Everyone around expected them to be serious, to keep their shit together, and he fucking hated it.
