My first reaction was to go handle shit myself but knowing Creed he’d have an issue with that the fuck. “How sure are we about this?” I wasn’t about to get my boy involved in some shit that I knew was going to be trouble, unless I was sure that the shit was on the up and up.

After dealing with Dana Sue and her fuckery I know these women can make a mountain out of a molehill. “She seems pretty positive that it’s legit. She says the kid slipped, didn’t even mean to tell her and when she realized what she’d done she clammed up and wouldn’t say more. My girl’s pretty torn up about it and I’m not happy about that shit. On top of that if she gets it into her head to take care of it herself there’s going to be trouble.”

He didn’t have to say any more than that. I could just see Dana Sue jumping on that particular bandwagon. “I need this shit.” I had to give some thought as to how I was going to approach Creed with this fuckery because my boy ain’t the sanest motherfucker on a good day and something like this is just the type of shit to make him go ape.

When he’d asked me years ago to keep watch over his little girl, some kid he’d adopted in a parking lot of all places, I thought he was fucked in the head. I knew there was more to the story back then, but I guess out of respect for her he hadn’t gone into too much detail. Until the night six years later when he got fucked up on booze and spilled his guts.

So I know how he feels about this particular female. And if the story my boys had just told me had any truth to it, my little burg was about to get lit up. Justice Creed, fuck me. “How old is this kid anyone know?”

“Illyana said she’s twenty or something.” What the fuck was Creed waiting for? Did the kid not grow into what he’d expected or some fuck? I’d seen her maybe once in the last few years from a distance. I’d seen firsthand back then how he felt about her, because the fucker wouldn’t even formally introduce us. Like me, he didn’t want other dicks around what’s his. I don’t know how the fuck he expected me to keep an eye on her if I wasn’t even allowed in the same air space, but until now there hadn’t been any need for me to get involved in her life.

After his one night of trots of the mouth he hadn’t said anything to me about her, and truth be told I’d all but forgotten her existence until now. I had no doubt that he’d kept up his care of her though, no matter if his feelings had changed or not. That’s just the kind of man he is, and that’s why I know that if even half of this shit is true, this town is fucked.

“Thanks for bringing this to me, I’ll take it from here.” These fucks were itching for something to sink their teeth into since Junior the bitch was still in hiding and the out of town crew that was supposedly here to take me out hadn’t said or done anything as yet.

Blood thirsty bastards the whole lot of ‘em. Me I was just biding my time, waiting for my little mouse to come out of his hole so I can pick his ass off and get on with my life. “How’re things looking out there?” I motioned towards the noise I could hear in the distance where the men were enjoying their BBQ.

“Everything’s cool, the women are behaving themselves if that’s what you’re asking. I took mine to task and Kyle lit into Melissa so they’re a little down in the mouth but no one’s throwing any punches.” Poor Clayton, little does he know that tomorrow they’d be up to something else. I know my pain in the ass, as soon as she realizes I’m no longer mad at her she’ll be back to her shit again.

“Fine I want you two to keep an eye on Kyle and Travis. They’re up to some fuck and I think it has to do with the boys from outta town.” From the looks on their faces I guess I was killing two birds with one stone. If they’d had any thoughts of getting involved in that little raid they’d have to squelch them or risk my wrath. I smirked at them as they turned to leave.

I called Creed as soon as the coast was clear to give him a heads-up. “Justice, we’ve got a situation down here that concerns you.” No point in beating around the bush he’s gonna be pissed no matter how I word this shit.
