From USA Today Bestselling Author, Dani René, comes the first book in the Star-crossed Duet. A slow-burn, forbidden romance where love blooms between lies, and one wrong move could spark a war.

Mortal Enemies. Fated Lovers.

In the shadows of New York’s criminal underworld, two rival organizations are poised for blood—and a forbidden meant to seal the lover’s fate.

Lelia Vitale, daughter of a ruthless mafia boss, is promised to a man she does not love. Bound by duty and drowning in secrets, she’s resigned that a happy ever after may not be her future.

Nico Montesano, the man who steals her heart upon first meeting goes undercover—passionate, handsome, dangerously observant. Beneath his calm exterior lies a legacy just as lethal as Lelia’ he’s a hidden heir to the Montesano family, the Vitale’s oldest enemy.

Sent undercover to collect intel that could destroy an organization from within, Nico falls for Lelia, which was never part of the plan.

As the wedding draws near and the lines between loyalty and love blur, Lelia and Nico are forced to their families—or each other.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

“Parting is such sweet sorrow,

That I shall say good night till it be morrow.”

— Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare

These violent delights have violent ends.

Prologue

“There’s nothing wrong with your dress, Lelia.” My mother’s tone is annoyed, mixed with angry. It’s what she’s sounded like all my life, as short as that may be. I’ve become a pawn in her and my father’s game, and now that I’m turning sixteen, it’s only going to get worse.

I turn to her, the woman who gave birth to me, and I don’t know if I want to ever admit how much I want her to be proud of me. She’s never been a doting maternal figure. There have been moments of love, some affection, but nothing on a deeper level. I can’t talk to her about things most of my friends tell their moms.

“I just feel uncomfortable,” I admit but then shake my head and turn back to the mirror. My reflection is that of a young woman. I don’t like it. I’ve never been one to dress up and spend hours in front of the mirror, but now that I’m walking into a party that’s in my honor, Mom wants me to act the part.

“Be downstairs in five minutes,” she warns before leaving me in my bedroom. The silence in my personal space is welcome.

This life I’ve been born into isn’t easy. It’s stupid to think I could ever have my own say in what I do and who I love. But with a name like Vitale, it’s well-known that we have mortal enemies. It’s a war that’s spanned generations. I didn’t want to grow up with anger and hatred in my heart, but that’s what happens when you have no choice.

This party is not to truly celebrate my birthday, but rather a time and place for those who want to put their name in the pot to one day marry me. My father will choose, and I’ll have to obey, like the perfect pawn in his game.

I won’t know who he is until I’ve earned the place in the family organization, but I have an idea of who my father will choose. There are important, influential suitors who’ll be there this evening, but none of them will ever cause me to want to vow to spend my life with them.

When I finally make my way down to the lavish room that’s been decked in gold balloons, soft lighting, and the glittering crystal glasses filled with sparkling liquid, I know my mother has gone all out.

“There she is,” my father says with a smile beaming on his face. It does please me to know I make my father happy, proud, but deep down I know it’s not that easy. He will one day ask me to do something I don’t want to. In our world, there aren’t many choices.

He puts his hand around my shoulders and leads me toward the balcony doors. But we stop before stepping out into the warm summer evening.

“I hope this party will allow you to meet people, get to know those here who want to learn who you are,” he tells me as he grips my shoulders with both hands, and my head spins when I realize what he means.

“Dad.” I sigh as I glance around the room, taking in the faces of everyone who has come out to my birthday party. At first, I thought they were here to celebrate, but now I realize all of them are only here to try to coax me into marrying them. Men of all ages, which sends an icy shiver down my spine.

“Listen to me, Lelia. I am not going to explain this to you again,” he murmurs low and menacing. “This is the life we live. We have to follow the rules, and that means, you will do as I say.”

“Yes, Dad,” I finally whisper before I step back and out of his hold. My father may love me, but he is strict. He doesn’t want his precious rules to be broken.

He drops his glare from mine and glances around. But before he goes off to mingle, he gifts me one final look and walks away, leaving me wondering why I’ve been cursed. I don’t move for a while, taking in long, deep breaths to calm the erratic thrum against my ribs.

There has never been a time I wanted the ground to swallow me up more than I do right now. It feels as if everyone’s eyes are on me. The music doesn’t drown out the deafening thud of my heart.

More guests enter the room, welcomed with champagne and hors d’oeuvres. The women who have accompanied their husbands, along with sons who they more than likely want to show off to me, are all exquisite. They look like they’ve just stepped off a runway or a photo shoot.
When Rev walked away from his past, he didn’t want to see those he’d left behind. There are secrets that will haunt him forever, and history is about to become Rev’s present.
When Rev walks back into a town he put in his rear view mirror years ago, he also comes face to face with the pretty face he has never forgotten. But he’s changed, and so has she… Only time will tell if their forbidden flame burns as hot as it did all those years ago.
But there’s a threat that could tear everything apart… A dark menace which will haunt him if he doesn’t put it to rest.
There’s a choice to be made. A decision that will change Rev’s life forever.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

We’re stronger in the places that we’ve been broken.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY

PROLOGUE

REV

Present Day

“I want ye on the job, Rev. This one ain’t goin’ta be pretty,” Monster tells me.

He’s the President of the MC, and whatever he says is law, but he’s not a tyrant. If we need anything, he’ll bend over backwards to help us. We’re not just soldiers in his MC, we’re brothers. When he gave me a chance to patch in at twenty-five, I didn’t think I’d still be here ten years later. I didn’t expect to be part of a family that loves me as much as I do it.

“I’ll take my brother and Racer with me,” I inform Monster, and he nods his approval.

I make my way out of the clubhouse to find Hades and Racer waiting for me, and I quickly fill them in on the job we’ve been tasked with. Racer hasn’t been with the club long, but he’s already an integral part of the family.

My twin brother has been by my side all my life. Even when I went into the seminary for a while, he came to church every fecking day to confess and to talk to me about the shite he’d been up to. I tried to stop him from doing stupid, reckless things, but there was nothing I could do to prevent the stubborn arsehole from getting into trouble.

Hades has spent more than his fair share of nights in a police cell, but since we joined the Royal Bastards, we’ve both been doing much better.

Two hours later, I’m packed and ready to leave. I meet Racer and Hades by our bikes.

“Are you two ready?” I ask.

“Yes,” Hades answers while Racer nods. “It’s going to be interesting going back.”

“Aye, it definitely is,” I say as I head for my bike.

When we moved to Belfast, I vowed never to return to England, not even for work. I didn’t want to set foot on the land that spat me out and left me a broken man. I didn’t think I deserved happiness after walking out on Shaun and leaving Harley at the stone bench where we had our most profound conversations.

Now we’re heading back to Newcastle to sort out some shite that’s going down there, and I know I have to keep a level head. Some of our gun shipments have been going missing before they reach the club, and we’re losing a lot of money. Monster has asked us to meet with our suppliers to figure out where the problem is originating from. Once we’ve done that, we can fix whatever is broken.

“We’re not going to visit our old stomping grounds,” I warn Hades, who’s watching me.

“Don’t you miss it?” Racer asks.

“Like feck,” I respond, but my words are drowned out by the roar of our engines coming to life.

We pull out of the driveway and onto the street, heading for the airport. I can’t deny, my anxiety is at an all-time high at the thought of flying back to England. The risk that we would run into our father has always been one reason why we’ve never gone back.

You can’t choose your parents, but you can walk away from their toxicity if it hinders you. We chose to walk away from our father rather than have his death on our hands. Despite what he did to us, we didn’t want to kill him, but if we do meet him again, we know there’s every possibility that we will.

We grew up on a council estate in a town called Bolton—not far from the city of Manchester. The memories of our childhood and the reasons for Hades and me running away from home have consumed my thoughts over the years. The blood that stained our hands and the lives that were lost from overdosing on the drugs we sold still play on my mind on a never-ending loop.

I haven’t forgotten what happened in that shite hole we grew up in—the things we witnessed, and the way our father treated us. The man was a bastard, and he made sure we both believed we were as well. I don’t think he ever had any love for his family. He even blamed our mother for leaving him when she died, and he held us responsible for her death.

After we ran away, we ended up in Newcastle where we discovered what it was like to live the high life. We were both offered jobs in a nightclub on the south side of the river. It’s there that we met locals and tourists who were looking for a good time, and it’s there that we first came into contact with the man who would eventually take us under his wing.

Shaun Hunt was a man we could finally look up to, so we ended up working for him. He invited us into his home in South Shields, not far from Newcastle, where he gave us everything we needed. Everybody who knew Shaun loved him, but nobody saw beneath the shiny exterior. The business he ran wasn’t all above board.

I knew I couldn’t hide away from them forever.

Living in fear for most of my married life was something that took its toll. It forced me into situations I didn’t want to be in. I wanted a life filled with love, but the way I chose to get it wasn’t right.

I’m torn as to what I want to do now.

Do I try to rebuild a relationship with Tarian, or do I walk away forever?

The guilt I experienced when I killed his father, knowing I’d stolen such an important person from my son’s life, broke me. But I didn’t want to live with someone violent, and I always feared Theodore would end up hurting our son too.

Back then, I believed Tarian was old enough to survive without me, so I chose to be with Thane. When I returned to Tynewood, I decided not to show my son what he meant to me. I wanted him to hate me because I knew I deserved it, and I thought it would make it easier for him to continue without me.

I stare down at the piece of paper on the desk. I need to try to explain everything to Tarian in a letter. There isn’t any way I could say this to his face.

As I hold the pen, poised and ready to start writing, I blink back the tears.

Dear Tarian,

There is no easy way to explain the things I’ve done, and even though I’d like to ask you to forgive me so we can move on together, I know it’s not going to be possible.

Once you’ve read this letter, and the ones I’ve written to Thane and to your father, I hope you’ll be able to understand a little better why I did what I did.

Life can be cruel and unrelenting at times, and I spent most of your younger years hiding the truth from you. I wanted you to grow up knowing you were loved, even though no such emotion existed between your father and me.

I love you. I want and need you to know that.

Choosing to walk away from you wasn’t easy. I broke my own heart to keep you safe. I thought if you believed your father and I had died in an accident, you would mourn our loss and move on. Now I realize it was my own pain I was trying to recover from, and I ended up scarring you.

I’ve made so many mistakes. My choices have not always been right or moral. But I intend to rectify what I can.

You are far stronger and a much better person than your father, and I pray you treat those you love with compassion and loyalty. Do not follow in his footsteps or mine.

I promise all your questions will be answered in time.

My actions don’t demonstrate what you truly mean to me. I thought hating me would make it easier than knowing I loved you but still chose to walk away. I’m sorry for that.

Please don’t follow the Calvert path and become someone hateful and unworthy of love. I want you to choose your own path and be your own person. I want your life to be happy and fulfilled,

Even though I haven’t shown it in the last few years, I love you, and I always will.

Mom

I can’t go into more detail, but I want him to have something he can refer to in the coming years that reminds him he’s loved, unless he decides to burn it without reading it, of course.

The time has come for me to pay for my past mistakes. I’ve asked Thane to help me, like he’s done so many times before. I know he doesn’t love me as I do him, and that’s okay. I made my choice, and I must live with the consequences.

A mother’s decisions may not always be right, but her love endures. That’s what I’ve kept telling myself since the day I killed my husband, the father of my son, and walked away from Tynewood and my death. That was also the day I chose to sacrifice being a mother to Tarian.

Now I’ve returned to make sure my son is safe before I finally find peace.

CHAPTER 1

TARIAN

Four weeks ago

The moment I roll over and try to open my eyes, a thumping pain shoots through my skull.

Warmth sears my left-hand side, and finally managing to crack a lid, I see a naked woman sleeping beside me. She’s draped in a sheet, but it only covers her ass. Her back is smooth and tanned, and her long blonde hair is fanned across the pillow as she softly snores. I don’t know her name. She’s a stranger to me, and I want her gone.
USA Today Bestselling Author, Dani René, brings you the long awaited story of Dante Savage. This is a dark, twisted romance, with FFM scenes.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

DANTE

If you kill evil, it doesn’t stay dead.

I’ve watched too many devils rise from the ashes and come back even stronger than before. I prayed it wouldn’t happen with my father, but his legacy still lives on in his colleagues and acquaintances.

I lived in the darkness for far too long. From the moment I realized what being a Savage meant, I never wanted to embrace it. But it wasn’t until I got older that I allowed tiny pinpricks of light to shine through the shadows surrounding me.

Instead of breaking, I became stronger. I wanted nothing more than to make the bastards, who reveled in the filth of their sordid desires, pay.

Which brings me to where I am today, seeking vengeance for the past.

As I twist the knife in his throat, I can’t help but smile at the bastard’s agonized expression. His face contorts as he screams and then gurgles while blood spurts from the wound, drenching my hand in crimson.

There’s nothing better than hearing a piece of shit like him take his final breath. The sound of death is a symphony to my ears. I replay it each night in the darkness of my bedroom because it brings me solace.

When I was younger, I would imagine killing the men who my father brought into the mansion I grew up in.

My brother and I lived in a house that was never a home. It was a space where the horrors of daily life will forever haunt us. It didn’t matter what we did, there was never a reprieve from the pain, from the torture.

Our father was a monster. My brother, Drake, and I are survivors. Even though I hate thinking of myself in that way, there’s no denying it. We survived some of the worst experiences any child could suffer.

That’s why I’ve made it my life’s mission to make these fuckers pay. Each and every one of them will die by my hand.

“Dante.” Harper’s voice comes from behind me.

She’s been taking notes, writing down names, addresses, and any other useful information we can get out of this sick bastard.

I pull the knife from the neck of the man who’s know dead. His head hangs morbidly to the side as if it’s about to fall off. I don’t care if it does. I’ve seen a lot worse.

“Have you got everything we need?” I demand.

I’m a coldhearted bastard when I’m working, but the amazing thing about Harper is she understands. It’s Rayne who struggles at times with my aloofness.

“Yeah,” she whispers as she pushes to her feet.

Harper’s long, chestnut hair hangs to the middle of her back, and as she runs her fingertips over her neck, she swipes some of the vibrant strands to the side. Moving to Europe and leaving the past behind has been good for her. She has grown more confident, stronger. But looking at her expression now, all I can see is pain and sorrow.

I can feel the tension building in my shoulders. When one of my girls is sad or in pain, it’s like a knife to the gut. I don’t want to see them hurt.

Even though I have a protective nature when it comes to Harper and Rayne, I still struggle to feel anything other than hate.

Hate is one emotion I’m all too familiar with. I thought Drake would be the same. But my brother has found his forever with Caia and River, and through them, I’ve learned what true love looks like.

“Are you okay?” My voice is raspy.

Before Harper can reply, Rayne walks into the dungeon with a smile on her face.

“I feel good today,” she announces as she bounds up to me and leaps into my arms.

The blood I’m caked in doesn’t bother her. She’s so used to seeing the destruction that comes from violence she’s numb to it. I’m not sure whether that’s a good thing or a bad one, but I wrap my arms around her and walk us over to Harper.

“I’m glad you’re feeling good,” I tell Rayne before turning my attention back to Harper. “Are you okay?” I ask her again.

Reading the tension on Harper’s face, Rayne slips her legs down so she’s standing beside me. Something has Harper spooked. I’m not sure if it’s the interrogation we’ve just done, or if it’s something else, but she needs to tell me.

The one thing the three of us have agreed on is that we will always tell the truth. We don’t hide shit from each other anymore. When we first started this relationship, I didn’t think we’d be together all these months later, but here we are. It’s been the best thing for me. And for the girls too.

“It’s one of the names he gave us,” Harper finally whispers, and I watch as she struggles with her thoughts. “I recognize it. He’s one of Bane’s friends.”
USA Today Bestselling Author, Dani René, brings you a friends to lovers romance, with suspense, twists, and steam!

I saved her, but I didn’t want to be a hero.

Callia was too young for me, she was off limits. I didn’t want to darken her light with my past, with my secrets.

And when my world comes crashing down, there’s only one person who is by my side, keeping me from breaking down.

Now, I have to make a choice—Do I let her in, or do I spend my life alone?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

REBEL

The Past

Twenty Years Old

Ma is sittin’ in the garden, the sun shinin’ down on her, when I walk out of the house ta join her. My da’s away on business at the moment, and I know Ma misses him while he’s away.

The cup of tea in my hand is made fer her. I wanted ta do somethin’ special and tell her I love her before I go off to meet Orla. I didn’t think I’d end up datin’ an Irish girl, only ta bring her over to Italy ta meet Ma. And now I’m plannin’ on talkin’ ta Ma about movin’ Orla over here permanently.

I love Orla. It’s somethin’ I’ve spoken ta Ma about, and she’s asked me so many questions. Ma seems ta think I’m too young ta fall in love. But I know how I feel about my girl, and I can see myself bein’ with her fer the rest of our lives. It’s fun when we’re together, but I have ta travel a lot fer work, so we don’t get as much time as I’d like. I was goin’ ta suggest we settle down together in Belfast, but her family aren’t too happy about her bein’ with me, so I’ve decided ta bring her out here ta get her away from them.

They’re judgemental arseholes.

“Thank you, my sweet boy,” Ma says in her strong Italian accent.

I love listenin’ ta Ma speakin’ with her friends. There’s somethin’ exotic about it. I’ve spent far too long in Ireland ta consider myself Italian, and with Da’s Belfast accent being so strong, I’ve picked it up and it’s stuck with me.

“I’m thinkin’ of askin’ Orla ta move out here,” I tell Ma who glances up at me, surprise clear on her expression. “What’s that look fer?”

“I didn’t think you wanted that kind of commitment. I mean, the only reason you should be thinking about moving in together is if you’re going to ask her to marry you.”

Ma comes from a very traditional background. No sex before marriage. And when you do get married, it has to be in the Catholic church. When she married Da, her family denounced her, told her ta leave and never return. At first she begged for them ta reconsider. But the ultimatum was clear—them or my father.

She chose love over blood.

When Da started workin’ fer the mafia, my parents hoped Ma’s relatives would change their minds about him. With the rest of the men from Ma’s side of the family workin’ fer the mafia, Da hoped he would finally be accepted by them. But it didn’t help.

Da fell into the work easily, and havin’ decided he never wanted ta leave, he took the vow; he made the promise. But Ma’s family still didn’t accept him, and my parents continued to live separately from them.

I know who my relatives are. I’ve seen them around the village where we live, but they won’t acknowledge me. Even if I were to greet one of them, I’d be ignored.

I’ve come ta accept it.

I realise Ma is still waitin’ on an answer from me.

“I don’t know about marriage just yet, but I can see us gettin’ wed in the future,” I tell her. “I’d like her ta live here with me, so we can have more time together. It also means I won’t have ta travel to Ireland as much.”

Ma smiles. It’s as if she knows somethin’ I don’t…maybe she does. With age comes knowledge.

“You know I’ll always be there for you. And I support your decisions, but don’t commit to something you’re not ready for. Okay?” She offers me a gentle smile and I nod.

“Aye, I promise I’ll only ask her ta move here if it feels right. It’s not been an overnight decision, but I’ll think about what you’ve said on the drive to the hotel.” I know Ma’s right. I don’t want ta do somethin’ I’ll regret later in life. “Thanks, Ma.”

“Okay, my sweet boy.”

I lean in ta kiss her cheek before leavin’ ta make my way ta the hotel where Orla is stayin’. When Orla mentioned she wanted ta come out and see me, she said she’d feel less pressure if she were ta have her own space while stayin’ here. I’m not sure what she meant by that, but I want her ta be happy, so I didn’t argue.

By the time I arrive at the hotel, I’m nervous ta see her again. I tap out a message on my phone ta let her know I’m in the reception area, and settle down on one of the fancy leather sofas.

When she appears in the lobby, I smile, takin’ in the pretty woman who’s lookin’ like she’s anxious, her gaze shiftin’ nervously between me and the guests movin’ around us.

The expression on her face isn’t as happy as I thought it would be, and when she reaches me, she doesn’t lean up on her tiptoes ta kiss me like she usually does. Instead, she gives me a brief hug before quickly steppin’ back as if I were nothin’ more than an acquaintance.
The Kings are about to take their thrones, but secrets, lies, and violence threaten it all.
Brielle may be strong-willed, and she may fight back, but she’s in the lion’s den now. There’s no more running, no escape, we will devour our prey.
Fate steps in at times, and it throws shit at you that you least expect. And at that moment, you may think it’s the worst thing that could ever have happened to you. Perhaps it is. But you’ll never receive anything you can’t overcome, or that you can’t handle.

We grow from our darkest moments. Like a seedling planted in the depths of the earth, we wait it out. Humans count life in hours, minutes, days. Weeks and months pass, and we live out those instances with abandon. Some reckless, some not.

But each time we grow through the shadows, through whatever pain and challenge we are given, we come out on the other side. We find the light. Even if we didn’t see it then.

The darkness of my past has followed me for so long, I didn’t think I would ever step out into the light again. But then, I met the two men who changed my life.

I grew up with hatred in my heart. Love wasn’t an option. I didn’t want to feel those emotions for anyone ever again. Even though I convinced myself I would die alone, it was Kai and Judah who forced me into the light.

They came along and made me see I wasn’t wrong. It was those around me who tried to break my spirit. With the actions of others, my soul shattered. And then two men mended it. There may still be cracks, but at least I know who I truly am.

I’ve come to accept my natural instinct.

I’ve come to learn that loving someone outside of the social norm isn’t wrong, it isn’t blasphemous. It doesn’t matter what the world says, they only want to force you into their own perceived notion of what normal is.

I don’t live by those rules or beliefs. And in the future, if I ever have children, they will grow up to learn the same. My story may not be easy to learn, but I know Brielle will soon have to listen to it.

The idea of delving into the past—confessing the memories that haunted me for years as I was growing up—sends revulsion through me. It’s difficult. But nothing in life is easy.

The sun is rising on a new day. And I look forward to the ceremonies. Perhaps the darkness that has followed us for so long will pass.

But with Judah and Brielle, and the challenges they face, I’m sure it’s going to be a bumpy ride to the light.

IN THE MIDDLE

BRIELLE

The gunshot that rings in my ears sends both Judah and I to the ground. His heavy weight on top of me, keeping me pressed into the soft grass. The scent of earth invades my nostrils, but the fragrance of his cologne—spice and warmth—takes over and soon, all I can feel, hear, or smell, is him. It’s as if he’s burrowing himself in my veins. He’s the blood that’s coursing through me, keeping my heart pumping, keeping my lungs filled.

“Get the fuck off me,” I bite out as I push away from the lawn, but he’s too heavy, too strong.

“Remember when I told you that you’d never escape me, that if I found out you’re a lying little spy, I will end you,” he reminds me, and I still all movement. The frozen state of me makes him chuckle. The vibration of his chest against my back sends rage racing through every nerve in my body.

He’s right though. He told me that, and I didn’t listen. I should have come clean, but I was scared. My father didn’t tell me all he wanted from me. There was no conversation between us about his plan. Overthrowing one Boss is difficult, but trying to overthrow three, that’s another story altogether.
USA Today Bestselling Author, Dani René, brings you another raw, gritty, dark romance in the Royal Bastards MC world. Head back to Belfast for this forbidden, age gap MC romance that will have you reading late into the night!

I walked away from Clover once before. She was too young, and I was too much of a bastard to hurt her. But now she's all grown up, and she's mine.

As much as I want to protect her, to keep her safe, I'm not a good man. I've done things I'm not proud of, sold my soul to a devil who's comin' to collect.

I shouldn't bring her into my world, but when she's dragged into it kickin' and screamin', I have no choice but to be her hero. And once I save her, I need to let her go.

But Clover is stubborn.
And when a secret she's been hidin' is revealed, I'm torn between her and the club.
I would do anythin' for those I love, even if it costs me my own life.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

SULLY

I grin down at the motherfecker who’s bearin’ down on the metal between his yellowed teeth. Both his eyes are swelling with purple bruises that will soon turn blue. He’s tryin’ta speak, but there’s nothin’ he can say that will change the fact he’s been leakin’ information about our shipments to the mob.

It’s not the first time Monster has allowed one of us ta take the lead, and I’m thankful I’m able to take this one. The metal knuckle-dusters I wrap my fingers around glint in the sunlight streamin’ through the window.

“The last time ye decide to feck with the Royal Bastards will be today. We don’t take kindly ta rats, and when ye run off and tell yer friends about our shipments, we need ta send a message,” I tell him, keepin’ my voice controlled, yet drippin’ pure venom.

“Mmh uh mm,” he bites out through the metal, and I smile.

Rearing back, I bring my fist down on his jaw, listening to the crack that follows, and I can’t help but feel satisfied. I won’t kill him, not this time. We want him to go back ta them and show them just how fecking ruthless we are.

“I’m the feckin’ cleaner, and I’ll gladly clean yer blood off this floor,” I tell him. “I’ll make sure ye remember me—remember the Royal feckin’ Bastards.” Stepping back, I motion for the two prospects ta take the arsehole’s shirt off.

“Hey,” Rebel calls from behind me as he enters the warehouse.

This place is a shitehole, but Monster likes it because it’s outside the city, and nobody comes here.

I turn to Rebel and notice he has Hades with him as well. “What’s goin’ on?” I ask.

“Monster wants us in church in an hour,” Rebel tells me.

I glance at the man we caught, and I shake my head before I release the metal from my knuckles and lean in to look directly into his eyes. The terror that flits in them makes me happy. I love watchin’ someone cower in fear. And right now, I grip the arsehole’s throat and squeeze.

“Ye tell all yer wee friends they’ll pay a hefty price if they attempt to trade in our territory. Ye’ll also inform them every feckin’ piece of information you spewed to them is false. Make them believe it. Do you understand me?”

He nods quickly, his head movin’ so fast it’s a blur for a second or two. Tears fill his eyes as he watches me. My fingers tighten, a warnin’, and then I release him.

“Get this arsehole out of here,” I order before I head over ta Rebel and Hades. The two prospects shove the black bag over his head and drag him from the chair. Once they’re out of earshot, I ask my two brothers. “So, church?”

Hades is the one who answers, “Tye has some information on Bragan.”

“I can’t wait till we get that fecker and make him pay,” I tell them as we make our way out to the bikes. Turnin’ my key, I rev the engine, givin’ Rebel and Hades a hint that I want a race.

The moment I pull away, they’re close behind. It doesn’t take us long ta reach the clubhouse. The adrenaline from the session at the warehouse is still fresh in my mind, but as I walk in, I can’t stop the smile that curls my lips.

There, waitin’ on me, is my girl.

My Lucky Clover.

ONE

SULLY

THE PAST

Twenty-Five Years Old

Death—the visitor that most of us try to escape.

Nobody gets to do that, though, because it’s the one thing in life that’s a promise.

For some, the Reaper visits far too early. He comes knockin’ when they least expect it, and then they have no choice but to walk with him into the afterlife.

That’s when it hurts the most. The unexpected.

When it happens, it’s an agony that nobody can describe, but also one that no person can run from. I don’t believe in heaven or hell, even though I grew up havin’ta go ta church every feckin’ Sunday, but somethin’ about it never sat quite right with me. How can one entity judge millions? I’m not a believer, and even though I see miracles happen all around me every day, I also see the ugliness in the world.

As the plane comes in to land on the smooth tarmac, the wheels touch down with a thump and I take in the airport building. I’m finally in the US for the first time in a long while. I’ve flown across the pond before, but never on club business.

Monster, the President of the Royal Bastards MC in Belfast and one of my oldest friends, agreed I could fly over and represent the club. Which brings me here, to Washington State where The Kovenant MC is based. This part of the country is far more breathtakin’ than anywhere else in the States. At least, that’s what I think. White Pass is one place I’ve visited that felt like home. It’s been a long time since I’ve been here, but now I’m back, I can’t deny I’ve missed it.
USA Today Bestselling Author, Dani René, brings you a brand new dark, sordid world of why choose romances. This series takes place on the infamous Black Hollow Isle.

Danger. Deceit. Death.

I was promised to the leader of the Lawless Princes. I don’t have a choice, obeying their rules will keep me alive. But they hold a secret that could bring their perfectly glimmering world crashing down.

As much as I hate them, Judah, Valen, and Malachi are now my protectors.

But there is no happy ever after in this life.

The Princes will soon become Kings, but not before they learn what the title means.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

JUDAH

Five Months Ago

My world came crashing down the day I watched my father take his final breath. It’s a moment I never want to relive, but the vividness of the memory makes it far more difficult to forget. It replays at times without warning. I grew up in his shadow, but I also looked up to him. A hero with the hands of a devil. He taught me everything I know.

With every step I take towards the dungeon under the Venier mansion, I feel more alive because I know what’s about to happen.

Black Hollow has become my salvation. With my best friends, I rid the world of anyone who isn’t loyal, who doesn’t keep the secret code we hold so dear.

Omertà.

Silence, as they say, is golden, and our hands silence those who can’t keep their tongues from spilling secrets.

“Why am I here?” the arsehole questions when I step into one of the interrogation rooms.

My great-grandfather designed the dungeon. It comprises a long, underground corridor, stretching from the western edge of the house to the east, with interrogation rooms and holding cells spread out along both sides.

Implements adorn the walls of the fifteen interrogation rooms, which can cause the greatest torment to their occupants. Each of the cold concrete rooms has been designed for a specific type of torture. Depending on the crime, the punishment fits perfectly, and what’s left of the tortured body is used as an example to those wanting to run their mouth off.

I secured our current guest against the wall in metal cuffs that hang from the ceiling. The bindings at his ankles keep him in place with his legs spread wide. As he glares at me, I can see his face is already bloody, but I don’t feel there are enough wounds for what he’s done. There should be far more. His one eye is slowly swelling shut, and I can’t help but smile.

“I think you know why you’re here, Angelo,” I tell him as Valen takes my left and Malachi stands to my right. “We need you to tell us about all those dirty little stories you’ve been spilling.”

“I have said nothing to anyone,” he spits back, anger and rage dancing a seductive symphony in his tone. Lie number one. “You may think you know me, but you don’t.”

“Oh,” I say with a shrug, “I know plenty.”

“I understand the need for secrecy,” he tells me. “Please. The Lawless don’t have to do this,” he says…rather, he pleads.

I love to hear people beg for mercy. Mostly because I never show any. The thing is, once you offer one person any kindness, it leaves a poor example to any others who might consider breaking the rules in the future.

“Your little girlfriend has been taken care of by some friends of mine,” I tell him. “But then again, she wasn’t yours, was she?”

He knows what I mean. His family hired her to infiltrate my home. Females are much better at hiding their true intentions by using their powers of seduction. That’s the reason women weren’t allowed on the island in the past, but since those rules changed, things have become a lot more interesting. The little whore came into my home and stole secrets from me, and I have no doubt in my mind she told Angelo everything.

“She didn’t mean—”

“When a woman walks into this house,” I interrupt him. “She signs an agreement never to disclose anything that goes on here. The rules are clear.”

“I know, I know,” he mutters with a nod. “She didn’t tell me anything.” Lie number two.

It’s so easy. Men like Angelo make my job far too fucking easy. It’s as simple as stealing candy from a baby—there’s no fight. It bores me. I much prefer when they spew venom back at me.

I pick up the pliers, and stepping towards him, I pinch his fat, lower lip between the metal teeth and press down until blood begins to spurt. His cries of pain are like music to my soul. Releasing the now torn skin, I step back and glance down at my shoes.

“You’ve made a mess, Angelo,” I tell him, and there’s no humour in my tone.

Lifting my gaze, I meet his cold, angry glare. There we go, the fighter is lurking inside him.

“I-I didn’t do anything,” he mumbles, his wound making it difficult for him to speak properly.

“I have witness accounts that tell me you’ve been talking to your girlfriend. You see, I’m not a stupid man, Angelo. I’ve been doing this for far too long to allow anyone to fuck up what I’ve built, and what I’ve earned.”

“I wouldn’t break the rules of the Lawless,” he tells me. Lie number three.

When I stepped onto this island for the first time as a student, along with Kai and Valen, I didn’t want to follow the rules that were in place for the students. And my two best friends didn’t either. We became what the professors called Lawless, and the name stuck. When Emilio and Jordan joined us, we indoctrinated them into our group and easily fell under the same moniker.
Bestselling Author, Dani René, brings you the next installment in the RBMC world which is a prequel to Sully’s story. A romantic suspense rollercoaster while introduces us to a beauty keeping a dark secret from Sully.

I ran from a life I knew, and found solace in the dark eyes of a stranger.
Memories burn me daily, but he seems to chase the pain away,
I can’t fall in love.
I can’t need him.
And when he offers me a new life,
I find that I can’t say no.
I’ve never forgotten him.
Years have passed, and he’s still my obsession.
I have always been lucky, and this time, my luck has run out.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

Time stills.

Moments pass.

But there’s no peace.

The tension that coils in my stomach is a serpent, readying its attack on my body. I watch his chest rise and fall from the corner where I’ve been huddled up. I don’t move. I can’t. The agony has riddled me motionless. It’s easier to hide.

His expression is peaceful. A calm, serene air surrounds him.

His body nothing more than the glassy top of a still lake, not a ripple in sight.

But it’s a lie.

There’s no peace when the slightest movement can bring war. He breathes, in and out, until those black lashes flutter open and his dark eyes pin me to the spot. It’s as if he’s someone else. And I believe he’s been overtaken by an alien force rather than admit he’s the man I love.

His legs swing over the edge of the sofa. Rogan doesn’t speak, because silence is more terrifying than the vile words he utters. He doesn’t see me. I’m nothing, but something all at the same time. I’m his solace, I’m his frustration, and as I watch him move about the room, I know I’ll soon be his punching bag.

Guilt weighs on me.

Sadness grips my heart.

And with each day that passes, I know no matter how many times the words ‘I’m sorry’ pass those lips, it will never be enough. Because in the same breath, he hisses, “You’re a stupid whore.”

ONE

CLOVER

It wasn’t the moment of impact that reminded me where I was.

Or why I’d chosen to go back to him, time and again.

It was the moment I lost all feeling in my face—my arms.

Each minute after felt like an eternity. I didn’t move. And he didn’t stop.

I didn’t breathe, yet he continued.

Angry. Feral. Animalistic.

The promises would come without a doubt, without fail. They were constant reminders of what happened the night before, but I overlooked them because the apologies were heartfelt. Surely, they were.

Isn’t this what love is about?

Standing by your man. Being there when he needs you the most. Unless those words my worthless mother uttered were wrong. You’d think I’d grown out of wanting someone to love me. Even after she was taken by cancer, stolen from me and my dad, I could tell my life wouldn’t be the same. Dad was there for me—he watched over me for years, ensuring I had all the love he had for me, but he was different. Detached. And then, he was taken from me. I still found myself searching for that one person who’d offer me what I so stupidly craved.

That’s how I landed in a dump of an apartment on the outskirts of New York where he was my only salvation.

But one day, something clicked in my mind. It’s as if someone had come in and flicked a switch. Perhaps it was the time he slammed my head against the wall. It was the last time he ever touched me. Because the next morning when he left for work, I ran.

The money that had been sitting in my bank account, without his knowledge, bought me the plane ticket. I had nothing else but the clothes on my back. There was no doubt where I’d go. I knew I couldn’t stay in the US, because he would track me down. So, I came to a country where I thought I could fly under the radar. I chose Ireland.

My father’s brother lives here in Ireland, and that’s how I find myself in a city called Belfast. It’s been a couple of months, yet I feel more at home here since I left my childhood home. When I did find my uncle, it was his assistant who helped me get into this place for rehabilitation. My uncle wasn’t even in the country, but she knew of me. He’d told her about me. And when I explained my plight, she made some calls.

Out of the shower, I stand in front of the mirror before I get dressed. I do this every morning and every evening. I have to bear witness to what I’ve been through. I haven’t touched any drugs in six months, and being clean isn’t easy, but I’m doing it. Granted, I’m forced to be good while in rehab. I’m able to focus on taking each day as it comes, rather than on the fear of being beaten every evening, or morning, or whenever he gets home.

There are other tokens of what I’ve been through. My body bears the scars of years of abuse. Some remain, but most of them are hidden. Deep within my tattered soul. It reminds me that hope is something fleeting, an emotion not worthy of my time.

And trust, that’s something I let go of a long time ago.

Love discarded me.

Love violated me.

And hope. That motherfucking bitch left me to rot.

I’m lucky, though, like my mother used to say. I will make it. I didn’t believe her back then, but now that I’m here, I think I truly am. Not many women get out of a situation like mine.
The blood is the same.

The graves are the same.

I smile when I do it now. When I dig a six-foot hole, I revel in the harsh stench of bodies — rotting and vile. It’s a reminder I’m a Savage. I was born into this life, and I’ll die in it.

The pieces of flesh and bone still chill me to my soul, but there isn’t any salvation for me. My life has been tainted by the sins that come with the last name I’ve been born with.
I bear the sins of my father.
With each body I dig a grave for, and with every heart I’ve seen cease to beat, I know there’s no escape. As much as I want to run, there are people here I can’t leave.
They’ll forever have me here, living the life the man who’s kept us prisoners for so long has forced us into.
No matter how many years I’ve been here, I’m still affected by the smell of the filth my father keeps them in. Each cell — cold and desolate — empty except for a bed and a bucket. When I first came down here, I was shocked, angry, confused, but it’s become normal.

We all have our crosses to bear. Mine comes in the form of a family name I’d rather never have been born with. Every day, I wish I’d died with my mother when she birthed my brother and me.

My job is simple though. In this hell, I’m the one who gets them ready for the horror that lies ahead of them. I take those pretty, stolen toys who are thrown into the cells and I make sure they know there aren’t any cuddles and sweet words. I’m the asshole parents warn you about.

Pulling on my suit jacket, I take a look in the mirror hanging against the gray wall in the dank office. This room is dimly lit for one reason — it’s where the cameras are set up. Where we watch them. My dark hair is disheveled as usual, the blue in my eyes a stark contrast to my tanned skin. Most of my father’s female clients want to fuck me. The men want to bend me over and make me grunt their names and beg them to hurt me, but that’s never going to happen. I don’t do shit with clients.

I do, however, get to touch the pretty toys we get in here. If they’re listed as virgins, I don’t go near them; but those who aren’t, they’re fair game. A good, hard fuck eases the tension for a little while.

No love.

No affection.

Just pleasure.

It’s who I’ve become, and I’m proud of it. I’ve been told before I’m a bastard, and I wear that label with pride. It’s easy to turn off the switch. There’s nothing left inside me; there is only death in my eyes. I’ve perfected the icy glare that has every girl cowering when I stalk into her cell.

I’m broken.

I’m off limits.

I’m Drake Savage.

And like the name says, I am a savage. I’ll fuck you up so bad nobody will recognize you — physically or emotionally. My favorite though is mentally. Fucking with someone’s mind is my forte. It’s the one thing I strive to do well. Needling my way in, into the depths where you hide your fears. That’s where you’ll find me. And that’s where I’ll lie until the moment you take your last breath.

The only people I allow close are my best friend, River, and my brother, Dante.

All cameras are on when I cast a quick glance at them. In an hour, Frederick will be here to watch them. His thankless job is to make sure the toys don’t kill themselves by doing something stupid, like bashing their skulls against the wall or some shit.

I head out to the long hallway leading to the kitchen. It’s empty. I know it will be because nobody is up this early. Our home has become a wasteland to love and affection. When I used to walk into the rooms, I’d find traces of our babysitter, but she walked out when we turned twelve. There’s nothing even close to warmth in this place. The old woman couldn’t deal with my father and ran. She never looked back, and I don’t blame her.
