Jax goes on as though Arizona didn’t say a word. “I figured, lube is slippery shit, right? And clothes, well, they’re just slowing me down. So, what if I ran and then slid? I reckon I could beat my time by half.”

“Wait,” Arizona cuts in. “You didn’t really cover yourself in lube, did you? I thought it was baby oil or some shit like that.”

Jax winks at her. “Sure fucking did, babe. It’s that edible cherry one you like. I stocked up on it after you went wild with it that one time.”

“Bullshit.”

“You’re more than welcome to come and lick me from head to toe if you don’t believe me.”

Arizona stares back at him, hunger burning in her eyes, and if I weren’t so desperate to see the asshole attempt this, I’d already be locking them in his room just so Arizona can get what she’s so clearly looking for. “There’s no way this is going to work,” I tell him. “You’ll end up with carpet burns, but like … the tile versions.”

“Ahhh, how quick you are to dismiss me, Miss Ashford,” he says, the confidence in his eyes knowing no bounds. “If I time this just right, I should be able to slide right across the tiles and into the pool just like how that vibrator came shooting out of Ari.” Jax puts his pointer finger in his mouth and then pulls it out, making that stupid pop sound as Arizona screams in embarrassment, her hands covering her face.

“JAXON MORGAN!” she screeches as Jax just laughs.

“Come on, babe. You know that’s exactly how it happened. You created a whole new definition for the term pocket rocket. It was like a bullet shooting straight from its chamber. If I wasn’t paying attention, it would have taken an eye. You were so fucking wet it just like …. swoooooosh,” he adds, making sure to add hand gestures, just in case Arizona’s humiliation wasn’t quite enough.

“I swear to God, Jax. Say one more word about that night and I’m going to strangle you with your own balls.”

Jax grins. “Ahhh, cute. It’ll be like a little ball sack bowtie. I should have worn it with my suit tonight. Though it would have sucked if I missed any of those naughty little hairs from underneath, you know those annoying ones right in the back that you have to half sumo squat to get to? They would have tickled my chin.”

Riley nods, taking this all too seriously. “Amen to that, brother.”

Jax nods right back as though this is one of those real issues that men have to face, but before he can go on, Riley is on his feet stripping out of his suit. “Where’s the cherry lube? I want in on this shit.”

Jax grins and within the space of ten minutes, every single one of us is stripped down to our underwear, our bodies dripping with edible cherry lube as we line up, ready to shoot across the tiles like slippery hot dogs.

Jax and Riley go first and, just as expected, they slide along the tiles like a bunch of naked penguins slipping along the ice only to fall off the edge and plunge deep into the cold water. They laugh like idiots, and as I barge my way through the line for my turn, Tanner hits me with another shot of lube, his hands roaming over my body, spreading it to every inch of skin and making sure to be as thorough as humanly possible. So fucking thorough that he gets me wetter than any pool could, and before I get a chance to slip and slide across the tiles penguin style, he’s slipping and sliding us all the way back to the pool house with every intention to slip and slide a little more.

Chapter 32

BRIELLE

“Sorry, kid,” Damien says way too early for a Monday morning, his uniform and bag already telling me exactly what he’s about to say. “I have to get out of here, otherwise, I’ll miss my flight and your bitch ass will be driving me all the way back to Fort Jackson.”

“Noooo,” I whine, slumping against the kitchen island, my half cut orange completely forgotten. “Do you really have to go so soon? I feel like you only just got here.”

Damien smirks and rolls his eyes as he helps himself to my breakfast. “I got here on Wednesday. It’s been five days already. Trust me, that’s more than the usual handful of days anyone else gets. I’m lucky I was able to get away at all.”

My face scrunches with disappointment. “You suck.”

“Right back at you, little sister,” he says, taking pity on me and moving around the island to pull me into a quick hug. “Bootcamp isn’t even that long anyway. I’ll be done in a few weeks and back here so you can annoy the shit out of me some more.”
