“I’m okay, better than okay,” I smile, taking in a deep breath smelling his manliness mixed with the lingering faint cloud of my own arousal.

I wonder just how out of touch my Mom must be if she couldn’t sense an alpha male like Ash just feet from her, primed to claim his mate.

“Then pack what you need because we’re outta here,” he informs me, returning my smile as I catch my lip with my teeth again.

Eyeing his huge member, which I swear keeps getting bigger every time I see it.

“What about this?” I ask with a concerned face as I gesture toward his front end.

But Ash only chuckles. “Oh, he’ll be alright,” he assures me. “I’ve waited my whole life for you, Bridget. A little longer won’t hurt.”

His words hit me at a deep level, way beyond what I figure a horny guy would come up with when he’s quizzed about his need to…well. To do whatever it is a guy needs to do. But it melts my heart to hear him say it, too, because deep down I know I feel exactly the same way.

“I guess I should have a shower,” I murmur aloud, getting practical. But Ash shakes his head, still smiling.

“No way. I want you to keep what’s mine warm and ready, so I only have to reheat it a little later,” he says, making a face and smacking his lips in such a way I can’t help but laugh.

“Plus, I don’t want your Mom, Dad, or anyone else coming in here. I’d have more than angry parents to deal with,” he reasons.

I guess he’s right.

If we’re gonna go, it needs to be now.

As Ash tucks himself back into his pants, I struggle to keep my eyes on what I need to do as I struggle to even think about what I should take.

“What do you need to take?” Ash asks, glancing around the room, following my eyes with his as I realize that I really don’t have anything, except maybe some clothes that really mean anything to me.

Sure, there’s my phone, my laptop, and headphones.

But I don’t have any pets or plants. Never been into knick-knacks.

“I guess I’ll just get dressed,” I shrug, trying to hide my disappointment with my own life, which Ash picks up on, moving over and hugging me close to him.

“Hey… I didn’t mean it that way. I just meant we can get you anything new you need unless you wanna come back with a removal van?”

My head shakes side to side slowly because I know he’s right.

“You can come back here anytime you want, Bridget,” Ash remarks.

“I know,” I squeak. Way too quickly and high-pitched to sound like I mean it.

“I mean, I only want you to go with me, do what you want because you want to,” he adds, lowering his voice.

“I want this more than anything, Ash.” I blush. Never great at relating or even one to voice my deepest emotions.

“…You make me feel like I’m wanted. Like I belong with you….”

There’s a long silence. And something tells me Ash is maybe not a big talker about how he feels either.

He’s more of a show me, ‘see?’ kinda man. And I’ve got no complaints there, that’s for sure.

I can’t wait to see where he lives. See what he eats and where he sleeps. Ooh! His underwear drawer…I just wanna know everything about him.

I pack a small bag with mostly underwear and a few changes of clothes.

Ash keeps a watchful eye on me, sitting on the edge of my bed, which sinks under his weight.

I redden more than just a little as he watches me dress. This is weird because undressing in front of him hasn’t proved an obstacle so far.

And I can’t wait to tear his clothes off. Get a real eye and handful of all that gorgeous man underneath.

Having him watch me squeeze into my jeans isn’t something anyone else should ever see.

But he only seems happier and hotter by the second, watching me dress, growling low to himself. Humming in that way that tells me he’s more than happy with what he sees.

It’s not long before I slip into my sneakers and let him know I’m ready, “I’m proud of you, Bridget,” he says suddenly. “Going through everything you have the past twenty-four hours. You’re something else,” he smiles, standing up and swaying a little.

I rush over and take his arm, with just some of his weight making me sink low as I guide him back to the edge of the bed.

“Ash, what is it?” I gasp, hearing a low, groan from his stomach before he swears, shaking his head.

“When did you last eat?” I ask him, sounding more like my Mom than I’d like.

Ash nods his head, though.

“I know, I know. Uh…yeah. I need to eat,” he says before puffing his chest with air and getting up again. As if he’s somehow totally recovered.
