A few more steps down the hallway and I’m walking into our bedroom. Taylor’s lying in the bed, head cushioned with the pillow below it, smack dab in the middle of the bed, eyes closed, sleeping peacefully, except for the words that leave her lips, “Slade,” the whisper floats through the room. All these years later and my wife still utters my name in her sleep. It doesn’t take me long to take off my clothes, letting them drop to the floor until I’m completely naked, lifting up the sheets and sliding inside with her.

“Hmm,” Taylor hums in her sleep, my arm slips beneath her neck, the silky top and bottoms sliding against my naked body. My wife always had a love for slinky types of negligées, whether it be a bra and panties to pajamas, it hasn’t changed either. I’d know seeing as I see the credit card statement monthly, I give her hell, just because I can, not that we’re hurting for money or anything, and I’m the one reaping the rewards watching her pull it on only for me to take it off of her.

“Taylor, babe, you awake or sleeping?” I mutter out, knowing if she’s in that halfway between sleep and wakefulness I’m going to take advantage of it. This morning we were interrupted by three cock blockers in the form of our children pounding on our bathroom door while we were showering. Apparently cartoons and cereal don’t keep them from needing their parents when they argue over who got to watch what next.

“Slade, you know I don’t sleep that great when you aren’t home,” Taylor cuddles deeper into me, her breath fanning across my chest. I guess there goes taking it further, especially when a yawn takes over her.

“Know that, get some sleep. I’ll wake you up with my head between your thighs,” Taylor’s hand slides from where it was lying flat on my chest, right where my heart beats for her and our kids to lower, getting her point across that she’s awake enough.

“Maybe I don’t want to sleep,” Taylor lifts her body up, hair falling down around her shoulders, one strap of her pajama top shows more than a hint of her cleavage, my mouth waters at the thought of tasting her.

“That’s good seeing as how I need a taste of you,” my hand goes to the nape of her neck, turning Taylor on to her back, spreading her thighs to make room for my hips, then going after her lips, and I won’t be stopping there either. We’ll wake up tired, but it’ll be more than worth it, especially to feel my wife lose herself while I’m the one giving her all the pleasure she can stand.

CRAVING MORE

To those rare people in this world who have two different-colored eyes, this one is for you!

ONE

KELLIE

I walked into Nighthawk Security months ago with nothing—well, not literally nothing. I had the clothes on my back, my car loaded down with clothes, pictures, and a few things that have always been near and dear to me. When you were trying to run from your past and start over, it didn’t give you many options to pack everything you owned and possessed.

When I left Arkansas after everything was said and done, it wasn’t hard. It should have been though. It should have been a devastating blow, much like it was to my jaw that had been wired shut for weeks on end. But it wasn’t.

After everything that happened, as soon as the wires came out, I put all my possessions in the back of my four-door Honda Accord and left. My aunt and uncle had tears in their eyes during the whole process, but as soon as Liam was sentenced to jail for only one year, I knew I had to escape. I mean, come on. One year for clocking me in the jaw so hard it was broken, and that’s all they gave him? I’d stood in the attorney’s office with tears streaming down my face and trying not to hyperventilate. What would have happened if my neighbor hadn’t heard my screams? How much further would my once childhood friend have gone?

I never saw it coming. Heck, I never thought of Liam in any other way than a friend until the moment he barged through the front door of my apartment one Friday evening. I’d just gotten off my part time shift as a waitress, something I did while attending community college. The bigger colleges were out of my budget even with scholarships, and there was no way I was going to ask my family to help me. They had already done more than their fair share, which included welcoming me into their home with open arms after my parents passed away when I was sixteen years old.
