“It’s time for me to go.”

“What… But you… I thought…”

I leaned down to give him a soft kiss. I couldn’t help myself.

He pressed against me. “I want more of you.”

I smiled. This eager-to-please version of Corbin was hitting all my fantasy buttons. I pulled him against me and kissed the top of his head. He was exactly what I wanted, except in my ultimate fantasy, he would be mine forever.

I’d given up on that dream, on the idea of finding someone I’d want to spend the rest of my life with. After being betrayed by friends and family and fighting to survive in prison, I’d decided having my shop was enough for me. I could hook up when I needed physical contact, but anything more was just too much of a risk.

Now Corbin seemed like exactly what I wanted, but no matter how much his brothers or I wanted to think he needed protection, he was a dangerous man and part of a very dangerous family. I did not need to involve myself in that. I didn’t need to start thinking about forever.

I needed to get back to the shop to stand guard, and even if I didn’t, staying there with Corbin, crawling under the covers with him, holding him against me all night, would be a mistake. “How can I teach you discipline and patience if I give you everything you want all at once?”

“That’s… You’re so fucking impossible.” Despite his obvious frustration, he smiled, and warmth settled in my chest. I should be more scared by that than I was. My damn heart was going to get me in trouble. “I will let you get away with that sass this time, but not again. The next time you talk to me like that, there will be consequences.”

“What kind of consequences?” Unlike the first time I’d mentioned discipline, there wasn’t anger or fear in his voice. He was smirking at me, and I was damn tempted to forget what I’d said, drag him upstairs, and put him over my lap so I could redden his cute little ass.

I forced myself to step away from him. I needed to give myself time to think, and Corbin needed to learn patience. As far as I could tell, he had absolutely none when it came to seeking pleasure. I didn’t really mind that, but I was going to make him wait for what he wanted, then I was going to make him ask nicely instead of demanding I do what he said.

“I think you can imagine the sort of consequences I would give you, so I’m going to let you think and wonder.” I brought his hands to my lips and kissed each one. “Good night, Corbin.”

“You’re really going to leave me like this?” He rubbed his hand over his hard cock, which was once again testing the limits of his zipper.

“Not only am going to leave you like that. You’re not allowed to come again tonight. You’re not allowed to come again until we’re together.”

“That’s… You can’t do that.”

“I can. I’m in charge here, and I’m ordering you not to touch yourself. I’m the one that says when you can come.”

“How would you know? I can do whatever I want when I’m by myself.”

I fisted my hand in his t-shirt and pulled him to me, capturing his wide-eyed gaze with mine. “I’ll know. Do you really think you can hide anything from me?”

I watched the muscles of his throat work as he swallowed. “I never agreed to that.”

“No, you didn’t, and this doesn’t have anything to do with your brother’s damn car. This only has to do with you and me.”

“Is this how you treat all the men you’re with?”

I smiled. “Only the ones that love it.”

“I don’t—”

“Don’t lie to me, Corbin.”

“I don’t want you to know everything about me. I don’t mind if you’re rough and controlling. You’re right. I’d let you do just about any filthy thing you want to me, but I don’t have to give you all of me.”

“That’s true, but I want you to give me this. Don’t come again until I say you can.”

He stared at me, clearly surprised I’d agreed with him. I knew how hard this was. It was damn near impossible for me to open up the way I was expecting him to. Was it fair to ask this of him? Probably not. But I wanted as much as he would give. “Promise me, Corbin.”

“I can’t. I… I just need…”

“You need to learn some discipline.”

He stared at me for a few moments. The air around us seemed to pulse with desire. Corbin licked his lips, and I watched his tongue slide back into his mouth. I wanted to feel it on me again.

Then his eyes met mine. “I’ll try.”

“You can do better than that. I believe in you.” The emotion in his eyes made my breath catch. Had no one ever said that to him before? “Corbin?”
