The chopper headed down to meet the vehicles there.

I’m coming Neha. Feel me with you. I’m coming for you.

Chapter 12

Neha spit out blood and glared at Master Chief McKaren. She still had the arm of the chair attached to her wrists but she’d been smacked around enough that the chair itself had broken. Instead of getting back up on her feet, she remained on the floor, wiping the back of her hand across her mouth.

“You are a disgrace to the uniform,” he hissed.

“Because you’re such a fucking model to follow? Kidnapping, assault, and god knows what else you’ve done or are planning on doing.”

He stared at the cut on his fist. “You would think that being hit would teach you to keep your fucking mouth shut and be a good little woman.”

“I grew up taking worse beatings than what you’re doling out. My mom has a meaner punch than you.”

His smile wasn’t pleasant. “I know about your parents. And your brother.”

She didn’t blink. “Of course you do. That’s what that fucking rancid smell is on your breath. The drugs. Does my useless sibling know that you make more than I do and doing this won’t get him anymore money? Or did you promise to pay him when he delivered me up like this?”

Neha flexed her fingers and pushed back up to her feet. Breathing was still difficult, but she fucking refused to go out without some kind of fight. Sure, this opponent outweighed her and she wasn’t the best at hand to hand, but she would inflict some pain to him.

Unless he just fucking shoots me.

“Don’t worry about him.”

“I’m not worried. I don’t give a fuck what happens to him.”

The blood on her wrists made the tie move easier because of the slickness. She could feel it on her fingers and dripping down to the floor.

“And what’s your end game? What do you get out of all this? Or is this it? You’re getting your dick hard because beating on restrained women does it for you?”

“You know, when I watch him fuck you and make you scream and cry, this will be worth it to me.”

Him? Who the fuck is him?

“Really?”

His grin set her on edge. “Don’t you want to know who I’m talking about?”

“No.”

And that was the truth, she had no wish to know.

“You trusted him and he has been wanting to do such things to you for so long. I cannot wait to watch.”

“You mean those pictures from the porn videos where my face was put on the woman in them? This person did that?”

He smiled, showing her the charming man the rest of the world saw.

“Yes. I didn’t know you’d seen them. What did you think?”

“I think you are a sick fuck and so is that person. Whoever they are.”

His smile was patronizing. “Your outlook will change.” He stood before her. “You should have never tried to belong on our submarine.”

She clenched the arm of the chair and swung without thinking of her consequences. The crack of wood against his skull was loud and the impact reverberated down her arm. McKaren’s dropped like an iron ball.

Chest heaving, she looked around and picked up the wood once more. This time she held it in both hands and swung again. Then she ran.

A large body filled her way and she couldn’t stop but smacked into him. Hard body. Weapons. Her brain cataloged that and she began to fight and scream.

“Fuck!” the guy called out seconds after she caught him in the groin. “She’s running.”

There were more of them. Panic filled her and another caught her. Again, she swung, the chair arm connecting with some part of whoever it was. Another curse.

“Neha. Baby, it’s me. I’ve got you.”

Davin.

But could she trust it wasn’t just in her head?

Another light clicked on and she saw him, those amazing blue eyes staring down at her.

“I got you, baby.”

Her legs gave out and he held her as he took them both to the ground. Wheezing, she tried to blink away the tears but it didn’t work. They fell from her eyes.

He cupped her face and kissed her. Held her close and hard.

“I love you, Neha.” His words were whispered along her lips.

She passed out.

When she woke she struggled to open her eyes. Hospital walls welcomed her. Flowers and balloons were in view. She looked around, slowly and smiled when she found Davin sleeping in a chair beside her. Exhaustion apparent in his features.

Movement at the door had her looking there.

Tavin stood there. He gave her a thumbs up and lifted an eyebrow.

She nodded and touched her lips and blew him a kiss. His smile brought more tears to her eyes. He slipped away and she turned her head again to the man beside her. Every inch of her hurt and she reached for him slowly, breathing a bit easier when she laced their fingers together. He grunted and squeezed her hand but didn’t wake.
