Dagon cocks a brow. “Anything?”

My heart skips a beat. That look. I could spend an eternity with him looking at me like that and it would never get old.

Wait, an eternity? Girl, calm down.

I chide myself, doing my best to lock up my heart. It’ll do me no good to fall for an unavailable hunter vampire.

Like. I was in like with this gorgeous, infuriating, sex-incarnate vampire. That’s all.

Dagon grazes a knuckle down the line of my jaw, his touch eliciting chills in its wake. “What if I said I wanted to bend you over the balcony railing…” He motions behind him, to the opened double doors of his room. “And fuck you in the moonlight?”

My lips part open, shock and delight rippling through me at his words.

“I…” I’m at a loss for words. Especially as he keeps touching me, his hands roaming possessively, like my body is his to please.

I swallow hard as he dips his head again, bending to kiss my neck, lightly grazing his fangs over my sensitive skin.

I’m liquid.

I’m burning.

My fangs are out and throbbing. I’ve had sex before, but none of my partners have ever made me ache in the ways Dagon makes me ache for him. It’s on another level. I’m not sure if it’s simple chemistry or if it’s our common powers or something more, but I can’t get enough of the sensation.

Of him.

“Or we can—”

I cut him off with a punishing kiss, clinging to the rush pumping through my veins before I can talk myself out of anything. I pull back, grinning at him, showing him my fangs before I head straight for the balcony.

I kick off my shoes, slowly pealing my clothes off as I walk onto the balcony. The night air is humid against my skin, the sound of ocean waves crashing in the distance. From this angle, we’re at zero risk of being spotted, but I can’t help but feel a sense of exhilaration at the thought.

I spin around when I don’t hear Dagon move, my eyebrows raising when I find him statue-still where I left him. His eyes are on me, searing and greedy as he takes me in.

“Were you bluffing?” I ask, my voice sounding as confident as I feel in that moment. How could I not be when he’s looking at me like he’s just caught sight of a goddess worthy of dropping to his knees for?

I shift, leaning back against the cold stone balcony railing. The chill makes my nipples peak.

Dagon is in front of me in a blink. Faster than even my vampire eyes can track. I gasp at the sight as I look up at him—fangs exposed, eyes almost wholly black with need, his dark blond hair glistening in the moonlight.

“I never bluff,” he says, his voice guttural.

“Then what are you waiting for?” I ask, grabbing at the hem of his shirt and hauling it up and up until he tugs it over his head.

Pants and boxer briefs are next to fall in a pile, and it doesn’t matter that I’ve seen him like this before, I’m still shaken by it. He’s all smooth skin stretched tight over corded muscle. Every inch of him is honed for hunting and fucking and God, he’s divine. I’ve never seen anyone like him. I’m not sure I ever will again.

“Turn around,” he demands.

A hot thrill slices down my center at the demand, and I bite back a smile as I do as I’m told.

“Good girl.” He drags his hands over my back, pushing between my shoulder blades until I’m bent over the railing, just like he wanted. He steps behind me, nudging my feet apart as he grips my hips.

I gasp as he teases his thick length through my heat and leans over me, his chest over my bare back, so that his lips are at the shell of my ear.

“Feel free to be as loud as you want,” he says, his warm breath washing over me. “I want everyone on this island to know exactly who is making you moan.”

I tremble at his words, pushing back to rock against his hard length.

He groans, his hands flexing on my hips as he draws back, kissing his way down my spine before lining us up again. He dips his cock into my aching heat only an inch before pulling out and bending to kiss me again.

I sigh, reaching back for him—

“Hands on the railing,” he says with no room for argument. “Or I’ll start this all over again.”

Fire licks my skin. I put my hands back where they belong.

“So compliant,” he says, and from his tone, I can tell he’s smiling. I want to look back, want to drink that smile in, but I don’t dare move. Not when I want him so badly it hurts. “So different from when I’m trying to teach you how to control your power.”
