“Actually, that was more of a one-handed scene, if you know what I mean.” I wriggled my brows. “You sure you didn’t practice with it before you picked?”
Her cheeks turned pinker. “Yes, I’m sure.”
I smirked. “You’re turning red, so I have my doubts.” When she didn’t respond, I tried another question. “Okay…if bodyguard romance isn’t your thing, what is your thing? What gets you off?”
“I like dark romance.”
Hmm… “Like, horror shit? The kind of stuff you write screenplays for?”
She bit her bottom lip. “Not quite.”
I plopped down on the couch and kicked my feet up. “Is it kinkier than what I read tonight?”
She went silent for a few moments. “Yes, it can be kinkier and also just…” She hesitated. “Never mind.”
I pulled out my phone and started googling dark romance. Some of the things I found included morally gray hero, serial killers, kink, and BDSM.
“Damn.” I looked up from my phone. “Little does Vince know what his daughter likes.”
“Vince will never know what I read.”
“It’s nothing to be ashamed of. We all have fantasies.”
“I didn’t say I was ashamed.” She turned away suddenly. “Goodnight, Wes.”
Damn. That’s it? I wasn’t ready for the night to be over.
Juliette retreated to her room, leaving me alone. I wasn’t tired at all yet—wired was more like it. So I flipped through the channels. I missed arguing with Juliette, though. Or maybe I enjoyed her company. All I knew was that it felt pretty damn lonely out here without her, though she was only in the next room.
Later that evening, she finally emerged. Juliette went to brush her teeth in the bathroom, leaving the door open. I decided to brush mine right alongside her.
For a while we stared at each other in the mirror. I smiled while she just looked…pissed.
Juliette spit out some toothpaste. “What are you doing?”
She had white, foamy liquid dribbling down her chin. And my mind? Straight into the gutter. My dick twitched, a little too excited for its own good by the toothpaste facial she’d given herself. I didn’t mean for my head to venture to a dirty place—it just did. This was a clear indication that I needed to get laid, and certainly not with the current subject of my arousal.
“I’m just brushing my teeth, like you are,” I said.
“Can you please wait your turn?”
“You had the door open. Unless the door is closed, the bathroom is fair game. That’s my new rule. So close the door next time if you don’t want company. Otherwise, I’ll assume you’re okay with it.”
She rolled her eyes at me, and I smirked at her through the mirror.
After another minute of silence, I stopped brushing for a moment and asked, “Do women actually like it when a man refers to her pussy as a cunt?”
Juliette spit again, but refused to answer my question.
“I’m being serious. I want to know. For my own purposes…” Laughing, I added, “Call it research.”
She rinsed, shut off the water, and said, “Go put a shirt on.”
“Why does me being shirtless bother you so much?” I tilted my head. “Are you a bit flustered after all that sex talk tonight?”
“Go to hell.”
“Hell is the temperature you keep this damn house at!” I glared. “Thus, the reason I continue to wear no shirt.”
For the first time, I looked down and noticed Juliette wasn’t wearing a bra. She didn’t usually walk around without one, but the cami she had on tonight was thinner than usual, and I could see she didn’t have anything on underneath. I looked up again. God, she was pretty. Actually, pretty wasn’t a strong-enough word. Juliette Ginocassi was absolutely fucking stunning. Once again, my eyes traveled to her chest. I couldn’t help it. Either her nipples were naturally prominent, or they were hard. And unfortunately, that made me hard.
Time to leave the bathroom now. I exited before she could notice my pants tightening.
One thing was for certain: I didn’t need a damn book to get me off. All I’d had to do lately was think about Juliette, which was pretty messed up, all things considered. Shit. I’d been teasing her about the book turning her on, but it seemed I was actually the one riled up tonight.
Back on the couch, I kept thinking about how gorgeous she’d looked in that bathroom, her dark hair all wild from the humidity. And those damn nipples. They were like steel. The fucking toothpaste on her chin. And now that I knew she had a kinky side? Hard to forget. Very damn hard. It’d been a challenge not to see her in a sexual way before, but tonight had made it even worse. Tonight had been…enlightening, to say the least. And I’d also be lying if I said I hadn’t briefly imagined her and me when reading that excerpt earlier. I’m sure she would’ve loved to know that tidbit. I’d have to keep it to myself.
