After that, Pez and one of Beau’s guys from the garage broke up the fight. I told Apex that we’d back off and let Beau decide, but that I was positive that I’d be living with her by the end of the week. Bastard thought that was hilarious. He doesn’t realize that I’m moving in with her tonight. I’m not about to share that information with him, but I’m going to enjoy the look on his face when he finds out. And I’m going to make sure he knows. Hell, I might even call him the minute my clothes are in Beau’s closet. That thought makes me grin. I hear my son laughing. I can even hear it over the roar of Remi’s crowd. They’re packed tonight. I scan the room, looking for my boy. Crash is standing next to me and I’m about to say something to him. I don’t get it out, the words freeze in my chest. I can’t draw air in to even try to force them out. Standing over by the pool tables, Ty is laughing and high fiving Beau. She’s laughing just as hard and her smile lights up the whole room. I stop where I am, I feel the guys behind me run into me. I don’t care. I can’t move. Playing out right in front of me is my future. My son, happy and alive, having the time of his life with the woman I want more than life.
“What the hell—” Apex says, coming to stand on my other side.
I turn to look at him. “That’s my kid and Beau up there. You go ahead and try to get her attention, but know this, Apex, that woman is mine. I’m claiming her, and I’ll kill any motherfucker who tries to take her away from me.”
“Claiming a woman because of your kid is lame, BB. Beau deserves more than that.”
“I’ll be claiming her for Ty, because he deserves a good woman in his life to show him care and tenderness and Beau has that in spades. That’s not why I’m making her my old lady, though. It’s not even close. That woman has got parts of me that I didn’t know still existed. She’s sunk down in the marrow of my bones and I’m claiming her because I don’t want to wake up and face a day without her. She’s mine. Unless you find a woman, who can make you feel like that, you wouldn’t understand and I’m not about to explain it. Just know that Beau is not yours to touch and back the fuck off—or things are not going to end well for you.”
“What if Beau makes me feel exactly what you just said?” Apex questions me, completely defensive.
“She doesn’t,” I say immediately, still not taking my eyes off my woman. She has her arm around Ty’s shoulders. He’s curled into her side, laughing and talking to Callum and Slider. I can’t tell what they’re saying, but it doesn’t matter. I see enough to realize my son is on cloud nine right now.
“You can’t know that,” he argues, and I let off a sigh of annoyance. I finally turn and look at him and lay it completely out.
“You’re right. I can’t. What I do know is if Beau made me feel like that and I’d been in her orbit for months and months—like you have been—I would have already claimed her. I wouldn’t have waited around until some other man got an in with her. If you did that and she makes you feel like she does me, I feel bad for you. You fucked up. I’m not going to let that happen to me. Beau’s mine. She’s going to be my old lady. She’s going to have my kids and I’m never fucking letting her go. My advice to you is to walk away, because I will not let you have her.”
With that I stalk away and make my way to my woman and my son. Nothing else matters right now but them. Fuck, nothing else will ever matter over them. I just need to make sure that Beau knows that and accepts it.
If she doesn’t?
Fuck, I may have to lock her up and tie her to my bed until she does.
Chapter 15
Beau
I slam the door to my house, lock it, and go straight to the kitchen. Tonight was an absolute shit-show. I don’t know who I want to kill first, Apex, Hunter, or both at the same time. I did my best to keep my patience. I didn’t fully succeed, but I didn’t kill anyone either, so I guess that means I passed. It helped that I spent most of my time with Slider and Ty. Pez joined us too. He’s apparently a new member of the Devil’s Blaze that joined when King came over. I like him. He’s tall, muscular without the bulk of some and funny. He has pretty blue eyes that are the color of a summer sky and dark hair that is short, but definitely a day or two past time for a haircut. I got the feeling that he was watching over me while Apex and Hunter worked out their issues. I didn’t really care. They spent so much time trying to assert their position in my life that I finally told them both to go fuck off. I felt I had to. If not, I was afraid one of them might hike up his leg and piss on me to show his ownership. It was that ridiculous. I’m not kidding, if one of them wasn’t bringing me a beer—when the other already had—they were ordering food and bringing it over to the pool tables or dart boards. Eventually, there was so much food around me I could barely look out over top of it. It was ridiculous.
