Unfortunately, Maverick waited for me when we walked into the clubhouse from the garage.

“Dahlia?” Molly gasped as she walked into the common room. “What are you doing here?”

“I can’t leave you here to go through your pregnancy alone, now can I?”

Shit. Technically, I hadn’t lied. I’d only insinuated that Molly was pregnant when I met Dahlia at the airport, but I wasn’t sure how she would react to the distinction.

“Pregnancy?” Molly repeated at the same time Maverick growled, “She isn’t alone.”

I shot a warning glare at my VP, telling him without words to be careful how he spoke to my woman.

“I guess I could be…” Molly mused before anyone said anything else.

Dahlia frowned. “You don’t know?” Then she eyed me suspiciously, but I just stared at her, letting her feel the heat from my gaze. Yeah, I wasn’t the least bit sorry for what I’d done, not when it ended up with Dahlia beneath me.

She blushed and looked back at her sister. “Maybe you should go to the doctor and find out.”

“We’ll go see Blade, princess,” Maverick interjected. “Just give me a few minutes to update Fox.”

Knowing it was club business, Molly nodded. “I’ll meet you there. He can do the test, but I’ll wait for you to find out.”

He snaked his arm around her waist and yanked her body into his before kissing the hell out of her and leaving her in a dazed state. “I promise, princess, if you’re not pregnant, I’m gonna fuck you day and night until the next test is positive.” He winked, and pink stained her cheeks.

“Sounds like hard work. I hope you’re up for the job.”

Maverick laughed—something I’d rarely seen him do before he met Molly since he was almost as grumpy as me—and patted her ass as the girls walked away.

We walked to my office in silence, and he shut the door behind him when we entered. I dropped into the chair behind my desk and straightened the stack of files waiting for me on the left side, then flipped a pen in the holder so that they were all right side up. I shot Mav a dirty look, knowing he was the most likely culprit. The guys loved to move shit just to irritate me. “What’s going on with the Cordell situation?”

Maverick leaned back in his seat and rested his ankle on the opposite knee. “Nic called to let us know that Cordell’s been demoted and asked that we let him know if the little shit tries to contact us.” Maverick’s tone was harsh, and I wondered if the added irritation stemmed from an escalation of some kind.

“Has he?”

Mav nodded. “Tried to backpedal, but when he realized we weren’t going to believe his bullshit, he started spouting shit, and I hung up. I had Deviant trace the call, but it was a burner. He’s gone underground. So I sent Nic a text, and he said he’d take care of it.”

Knowing Nic, Cordell was in for a world of pain. As the head of his family, he was not an unfair or overly harsh leader, but he kept his position by instilling respect and a healthy amount of fear into others. Nic didn’t like to be disobeyed, and his methods of punishment were dark. Something we had in common.

I nodded. “He sent me a new order,” I informed my VP. “Got a message from Brandon, too. Seems Carly wasn’t happy with their last supply purchase, and he talked her into giving us a shot.”

Brandon was Nic’s cousin and had been his number two until Brandon married into the mob. Literally. His wife, Carly, was the head of the Irish mob in the Northeast.

I gave him a couple of orders, then watched him rush out of the room, intent on finding his old lady. After a few minutes of trying to work, I gave up and went in search of my woman as well. Hopefully, we’d be visiting Blade for a pregnancy test soon, and I was determined for it to be positive, which meant I needed to get Dahlia back to our room so I could get back to working on it.

DAHLIA

While our men left to take care of club business, my sister led me out the back to a building directly behind the Iron Rogues clubhouse. The Iron Rogues had a clinic back there, which came in handy when you needed an unexpected pregnancy test. Although they probably needed it for more serious medical issues since it turned out to be fully decked out with an x-ray machine and all sorts of other equipment.

“I can’t believe I didn’t think about the possibility of being pregnant yet,” Molly muttered, shaking her head while we waited for Blade, the Iron Rogues doctor, to join us.

I rolled my eyes with a sigh. “And I can’t believe that Fox tricked me into not getting on my flight by telling me you were expecting Maverick’s baby.”
