Indie fell in love with four boys who adored and protected her.
Only to have them shove her out of their lives ten years later.

Pregnant and hiding from an abusive ex-boyfriend, Indie is alone except for her best friend Maggie to help her.
Until her ex-boyfriend finds her, putting her and her baby in danger.

They thought that she’d betrayed them. However, when they learn the truth . . . well, no one will keep them from her anymore.

And they will do whatever they need to in order to make it up to her.

But trouble is brewing.
And it might just take all four men to keep Indie safe from the storm.

Can four dominant, overprotective men show one Little that they can be everything she needs?

Please This is a reverse harem book where our heroine doesn't have to choose!

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

Fifteen years old (nearly)

Indie stared up at the huge house in awe.

Wow.

Did her mum’s new man work here? Her mum constantly fell in and out of love. Sometimes, they’d move in with her latest boyfriend. Other times, the relationship would end before it got that far.

This time, things seemed almost different. Her mum was . . . happy?

Which was odd because Indie didn’t think that she’d ever seen her mum happy.

She’d known something was different about this guy when a dark car had pulled up in front of their dingy apartment building with an actual driver.

The car was so clean. It smelled amazing and the seats were really comfortable.

Where were they? They must have left London by now, it had been a long drive.

Hertfordshire? Oxford?

Shit. Maybe she actually should have asked her mum some questions this time.

“Mum? What are we doing here?” she asked.

“What do you mean?” her mum asked, a strangely serene look on her face.

Indie blinked at her. “I mean, does your new man work here or . . .”

“Work here?” her mum said with a scoff. “God, no, he doesn’t work here.”

Their driver parked and got out quietly.

“If he doesn’t work here, then what are we doing at this house?” Indie asked.

Could you call it a house? It was a freaking mansion.

Surely her boyfriend didn’t . . . didn’t own this house?

No, that was crazy.

Her mum laughed, making her wince. She had two sorts of laugh. One that was gleeful and one that was mean.

This was the gleeful one.

“We’ve hit the jackpot, darling. Work here? He owns this place. We’re rich.”

It was said with so much joy that Indie felt slightly ill.

If you were in love, it shouldn’t matter how much money the other person had, right?

Her mum’s feelings for someone seemed to be dependent on how much he had in his bank account.

Maybe that was why Indie had become a romantic.

Lord knew she didn’t want to be like her mother.

Her mother slid out of the car with a regal nod at the driver who had opened her door for her.

Bloody hell.

Indie wasn’t sure about this. Their current apartment was tiny and in a bad area of London. They were behind on the rent, the electricity was close to being cut off, and she hadn’t eaten since lunchtime yesterday because there was no food in the cupboards.

She’d been contemplating trying to sell some of her mum’s shoes and handbags. Mum would have been furious when she discovered them gone, but they needed to eat more than her mum needed to dress in designer wear.

Now she understood how she’d managed to buy all that stuff.

Indie got out of the car with a nervous smile at the driver. She felt so out of place. What was this guy going to be like?

“Miss? Are you all right?”

Indie startled and glanced around, suddenly realizing that her mum had disappeared.

Big shocker.

“Um, oh yes,” she managed to say.

Urgh, he was going to think she was an idiot.

“Sorry, I didn’t catch your name,” she said.

“It’s Andrew, miss,” he said in a kind voice.

“Please, call me Indie,” she said in a slightly desperate voice. It would be nice to have one friend here.

“All right, Miss Indie. Your stuff will arrive soon and I’ll have it sent up to your room. If you want to go inside, that is,” he added as she just stood there, staring at him.

Her stuff?

What did he mean, her stuff?

“Miss Indie? Are you all right?” he asked. “Were you expecting your things to be here already? I apologize for the inconvenience, this was the quickest we could arrange things.”

Great. Now he thought she was a spoiled brat.

“No, no, it’s not that. I just didn’t realize . . .”

Shoot. She couldn’t tell him that she’d had no idea she was moving here because her mother hadn’t bothered to tell her.

What did she know about living in a place like this? What was her mother’s new man going to think of her?

Her clothes all came from charity shops. Sure, she put her own Indie-spin on them but there was no mistaking them for what they were.

Hand-me-downs.

Worn items that had been washed countless times.

The soles of her shoes had holes in them, for God’s sake.

“Where . . . where did my mother go?” she finally managed to ask.

No use having a panic attack over any of this. It wasn’t like she could do anything to change her appearance.

Bloody hell.

Something flashed through Andrew’s face.

Pity? Anger? It was too quick for her to really tell.

“She’s gone inside, Miss Indie,” he explained gently.

Right. Of course she had.

“Sure, silly me. I saw her walk off,” she lied. “I guess I should . . . head inside.”

She walked up to the front door. This house had to be over a hundred years old. There was a wide circular driveway in front of it. The middle of the driveway held a fountain with a chubby cherub playing a harp. Water spurted out of its mouth.
Perimenopause, a cheating lizard husband, and a zombie bite. Cassie is having the worst day of her life...until two Kindred warriors take her in.
*This is a PLUS-length novel--over 140,000 words long

Cassie is curvy, perimenopausal, stranded on an alien planet, and trapped in a miserable marriage to a cold-blooded lizard man who no longer wants her. When the Hunger Virus turns citizens into ravenous Infected, her husband lets the city cast her outside the gates as Zombie food.
But Cassie doesn’t die.

A huge, half-feral Beast Kindred rescues her and carries her to an underground bunker, where a brilliant Blood Kindred scientist is desperately searching for a cure.
Ravik is infected and losing himself to the Hunger…but Cassie’s scent brings him back.
Severin is cold, controlled, and all science—until he realizes Cassie’s changing human body may be the key to a cure.

Now Cassie is trapped in an undergrown bunker with two massive Kindred warriors who both need her in forbidden ways. Ravik wants to claim her. Severin wants to study her. And the cure they’re creating demands touch, blood, pleasure…and a three-way bond none of them are ready to name.

Beast Kindred don’t share mates. Blood Kindred don’t either.
But Cassie may be the one woman who changes all the rules.

This spicy sci-fi romance features a curvy mature heroine, perimenopause power, alien zombie outbreak danger, forced proximity, protective Kindred warriors, MFM heat, healing bites, body worship, forbidden sharing, and a happily ever after ending that will make your toes curl and your heart melt

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

1

CASSIE

“Don’t do this, Sskarth—please, I’m begging you! Don’t let them put me outside the city gates!”

Cassie faced her husband, her hands clasped over her pounding heart, her eyes filled with tears of pure panic. All around her, the Visskous hissed their disapproval. They were a cold-blooded people—literally, since the inhabitants of Visslick Prime were lizard-like both in appearance and in biology.

She’d thought that Sskarth was so handsome and exotic when she met him on the Kindred Mother Ship. He had a sleek, slim body with a swimmer’s build and his purple scales flashed with iridescent brilliance when the light caught them just right.

He had thought that Cassie was exotic too, apparently—a prize to be won and brought back to his home world for display. The Visskous were a jealous people and there was nothing they liked more than having something exclusive that everyone else would admire and envy.

At first, Cassie had been a trophy wife—a human female from another galaxy—so unusual and unique that every other male envied Sskarth. He had a mate unlike any other woman on the planet and everything about her was considered odd and exciting. From the “silk” she grew from the top of her head to the pale, scaleless skin that covered her curvy frame, it seemed that every Visskous male who saw her wanted her.

That had been nice…for a while. Before coming to work on the Mother Ship and meeting Sskarth—who was visiting to establish trade relations with the Kindred—she’d been married for twenty years to a husband who didn’t appreciate her.

Mitchell, her ex, had been a total misogynist who had believed a woman’s job was having babies and making sandwiches. It had taken Cassie ten years to realize what a jerk he was and then ten more years after that to finally get away from him. She waited until her last son was in college and then she filed for divorce and applied for a job on board the Kindred Mother Ship on the same day.

If only she would have stayed there, she wouldn’t be in this position now, she thought, looking around at the bad-tempered lizard people, all flicking their forked tongues at her and hissing their displeasure and disapproval. She might even have found a nice Kindred warrior to settle down with. Even though she was past 40 by then, there were still Kindred who might have been interested.

But then Sskarth came into the picture. He wooed her with his extravagant wealth and promises that they would “live in a city of crystal spires together and love until the end of time.” After years spent with a taciturn asshole like Mitch, Cassie’s head had been completely turned by the overwhelming romance and what she now understood was love bombing of the alien male. She had agreed to join with Sskarth and go live with him on Visslick Prime.

And now she was regretting it because she was about to be put outside the gorgeous Crystal City to die.

“Please Sskarth!” she begged again. “I’m your mate! You can’t just put me outside the walls because I’m not a Visskous!”

“But how do we know you won’t catch the disease and spread it?” one of the lizard women demanded, giving her a hard stare through her slitted eyes. She was distinguishable from the males only by the limp, leathery crest of skin that started at her forehead and ran down the middle of her skull like a flaccid Mohawk.

“What makes you think I’d catch it or spread it?” Cassie asked in exasperation. “I’m not even Visskous—I probably can’t even get it.”

“Then you won’t mind living outside the city gates with the Infected,” the woman hissed, her forked tongue flickering in satisfaction. “Since you don’t think you’d be affected by the Rotting Disease.”

“I never said that!” Cassie protested, horrified. “Just because I might not be susceptible to the disease, doesn’t mean I want to be exposed to it!”

Or torn apart by the Infected, she thought but didn’t say because the thought was too horrible to speak aloud.

The Rotting Disease—also known as “The Hunger”—had first appeared on Visslick Prime a little over a year ago. It started with a whitening of the eyes—a kind of film grew over the pupils and irises of the victims, giving them a dead-eyed stare that was horrible to behold. Next came the red streaks around the mouth and nose that looked almost like blood—hence the name “blood sign” as the Visskous had dubbed it.

After that, the Hunger appeared—a ravenous, gnawing desire for living flesh, gnawed right off the bone. Once that happened—once the victim took his or her first bite of living flesh from a victim—it was all over. They became a mindless zombie-type creature—a walking corpse wandering aimlessly in search of living victims to cannibalize. Gradually their flesh became affected, rotting off their bones, but they kept on going, searching for their next feeding ground—their next mindless meal.
She was Olympus's Queen. Its sacrifice. Its savior. Its destruction.

Long ago, Circe was Hermes' entire heart. The two women lived on the outskirts of Olympian society, content with a quiet life away from the spotlight. Then Circe caught the eye of Zeus…and was forced into a marriage that would take her freedom, her future, and in the end, her life. In the wake of the tragedy, gossip swirled about the woman Zeus married and (allegedly) murdered…but in time, everyone forgot about beautiful, tragic Circe.

Everyone but Hermes, who vowed on that day to bring Olympus to its knees.

Now, fifteen years later, a new Zeus rules the city, a new Hades protects his people, a new hope dawns…and Hermes has begun to think there may be things about Olympus worth saving. With Atalanta by her side―and slowly rebuilding her heart―Hermes may finally be ready to set aside her fury and seek the city's rebirth instead of its total annihilation. But there is a beautiful devil on Hermes' other shoulder: a devil who rose, blood-soaked, from where Zeus left her for dead years ago. A devil who has waited all this time to have her revenge.

And no matter their past, no matter the desperate love they once shared, no matter the complicated triad forming between the three women, Circe will not rest until all of Olympus lays shattered at her feet…and the gods help anyone who gets in her way.

A scorchingly hot modern retelling of Hermes and Atalanta and Circe

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

1

Hermes

Circe marches on Olympus.

It takes days because she doesn’t come alone. She brings the whole of the civilian population with her, an exiled queen returning to the city that tried to kill her. A homecoming for the ages. And there’s not a damn thing I can do about it. She played me with the softness of our history and a hope-laden kiss.

A kiss that betrayed.

The wind lashes my skin and yanks at my braids. Winter is nearly here, and it’s impossible to see that as anything but an ill omen. If I were up against anyone else in this world, I’d have no doubts. I’m the best, after all. I’ve worked hard for that title—both as Hermes and as me. No other Hermes in history managed to steal from every member of the Thirteen, the ruling party of Olympus. No other Hermes used glitter and charm to make the city’s powerful underestimate both the title and the person, all while I was searching their homes and offices for the information I needed. No other Hermes brought down the barrier that kept Olympus separate from the rest of the world.

And yet…Circe.

My phone buzzes against my hip, a welcome distraction from the shadows plaguing my thoughts. We have one opportunity to stop Circe’s wholesale slaughter of the Thirteen and the legacy families. One. And in the days since I delivered Zeus and Hera to Hades in the lower city—the last remaining part of this city that’s marginally safe—not a single one of the Thirteen have been willing to listen.

They’re in a sinking fucking ship, and they’re more concerned with their perception of power than filing to the offered rescue boat in an orderly fashion. I can’t save them all. I don’t even want to, if I’m being perfectly honest. The new crop is better than the ones who held the titles when I became Hermes, but that doesn’t mean anything. This is Olympus; it’s filled to the brim with monsters.

My phone buzzes again, and I sigh. “Right. Answer the phone, Hermes.” I dig it out of my pocket, a small smile tugging at the edges of my lips when I see Atalanta’s name on the screen. “Hey.”

She doesn’t answer right away. “Are you standing on a roof somewhere, brooding?”

That makes me laugh aloud. It feels good, a reminder that not everything is doom and gloom. “It’s rude to call me out so explicitly. You know I think best when I’m being dramatic.”

“Yeah, well, I hope you have some brilliant ideas up your sleeve. Ares hasn’t made it to the lower city barrier with her partners, but she’s already arguing with Hades about allowing her soldiers through the barrier. He’s refusing.”

I press the heel of my hand to my forehead. “Circe isn’t interested in soldiers, other than converting them. Ares’s people will be safe enough without her at the helm.”

“I’m aware.” Her tone is dry enough to soak up the moisture in the room. She’s been spending too much time with her boss, Athena. “Unfortunately, Ares is being stubborn.”

Ares wouldn’t have survived this long without a stubborn streak to rival mine. I admire her for it, have since the time when she was Helen Kasios, beautiful daughter of the scariest monster in the city. A prize to be handed out at his whim, though he didn’t live long enough to accomplish that task. “They’ll have to figure that one out on their own. Lead a horse to water and all that. What’s the status with the others?”

“Artemis holed up in her building and locked down all entrances. I don’t expect her to change her mind.” Atalanta’s voice gains an icy edge. We placed her with Artemis all those years ago when we put this plan into motion, and she served loyally—as far as Artemis was concerned, at least—until Minos’s party in the country where she was offered up on a platter.

I almost lost Atalanta there. The thought makes me shiver in a way that has nothing to do with the cold air whipping around me. She’s been my dearest friend for over a decade, the one who pulled me out of the dark pit of grief I’d fallen into. The one who taught me how to hope again. The person I care about most in this world… Or, at least that was true before I discovered that Circe was still alive.

Things have gotten complicated since then.

“Good riddance,” I snap.

“Hermes.”

“I have no interest in killing Artemis, but if she’s determined to offer Circe her throat, then so be it.” The statement is mostly true. If I ever end up alone with Artemis, I can’t guarantee I won’t slit her damned throat for thinking she could hurt Atalanta without consequences. “I’m not willing to risk you or others to save her from herself.”

Atalanta pauses long enough for my anger to fade. Finally, she clears her throat. “The rest aren’t much better. I think Apollo plans on coming to the lower city, but he won’t leave until he’s sure he’s blocked as much access to our systems as he can.”
Survive the tryouts. Join the Order. Defeat the darkness. Heed the Calling.

The time has again come for the kingdoms to offer sacrifices to the corrupt Sovereigns as proof of loyalty. Among the sacrifices is Anara, a human Sayer—anointed by the primordial gods at birth to be a divine instrument.

After being taken to Deimos, the Isle of the Sovereigns, she’s thrust into deadly tryouts for the Order of the Black Tapestry. Led by Talon, a living legend—a dragon soul trapped in the form of an immortal man—the Order protects Deimos from all threats. Each trial is a lesson in pain and perseverance that takes Anara closer and closer to the final test—surviving the Labyrinth of the Minotaur.

As powers awaken within her and the growing heat between she and Talon sparks a fragile bond to form, Anara must aid the Black Tapestry in defeating enemies who would otherwise claim Deimos for their own.

A dangerous undertaking for godkin.

A seemingly impossible task for a human.

But perhaps the divine Calling of a Sayer

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

CHAPTER ONE

Every nine years it happened. They came. Emissaries of the Sovereigns.

Watching dozens of them ride toward the settlement—some on horseback, some driving horse-drawn wagons—I remembered the last time they’d come. At twelve, I’d been too young to count as a possible sacrifice to the Sovereigns. Back then, more than a little terrified, I’d stood amidst the large crowd surrounding the town square, keeping a distance from the ‘offerings.’

Seven young men.

Seven young women.

Just as it always was.

This time round, I wasn’t swallowed up in the safety of the crowd. I stood shoulder to shoulder with the other offerings—my mouth dry, my heart racing, my stomach all tied up in elaborate knots.

A few sniffles and sobs rippled through the crowd. So much emotion clogged the air. Despair. Helplessness. Anger. Spite.

No one spoke up, though. It would be senseless. Because any who fled, protested, or tried fighting the emissaries only ever met a chillingly swift execution.

Things weren’t always like this. Before the primordial gods returned to their own realm centuries ago, they had lived in peace with mortals; treated us with respect and courtesy; educated and protected us. We, in turn, had worshipped and served them.

The half-bloods and their descendants, however? They weren’t necessarily cruel to us, they just massively overlooked us. We were, to them, a lesser species. Useful in our way, but interchangeable. Like a colony of ants. And so also expendable. Hence why the Sovereigns who reigned supreme over Cathadonya’s four dominions in the gods’ steed felt no guilt at using us as pawns in their power games.

The teenager beside me shifted from foot to foot. “Anara, you might want to edge away from me a little because I think I’m going to be sick,” he muttered.

I’d understand if Kemp did. My own stomach had dropped when, just half an hour ago, the Baron of our settlement had blindly plucked a fourteenth tuft of paper out of a bowl … and read aloud my name. Disbelief had smacked into me first. Then rage. Panic. Devastation. Resentment. The emotions still hissed and snapped in my belly like flames.

The reactions of the other selected humans had been mixed. Some had wept. Some had blanched. Some had fallen into a state of shock. None of the three godkin-offerings were anxious since, for them, there would be certain perks to this scenario.

Remus had only allowed us to say quick goodbyes to our loved ones before ordering us out to wait in the middle of the town square for the emissaries to arrive.

And so there we stood.

The aforementioned emissaries were clad in clothes as black as their magnificent steeds’ shiny coat. I knew that each item of clothing would have a red shield sown into them. On said shield would be a sword that had a twine of thread curled around it—an insignia that proclaimed they belonged to the Order of the Black Tapestry.

The purpose of the deadly and dangerous Order was simple: To protect not only the Sovereigns but the Isle of Deimos on which they lived.

“Aegeas isn’t bothering to hide how much he begrudges having to go along with this,” Kemp noted.

Glancing at the half-blood who governed all of Phoenixia, I noticed that his face was indeed a mask of resentment as he played escort for the emissaries. “I’d imagine it bugs all the Archdukes that they have to provide such proof of loyalty.” Particularly since it was also a punishment for how they had tried rebelling against the Sovereigns a century ago.

Stood on Kemp’s other side, Aurelia absently scratched at her arm, lightly scoring her dark skin. “Much as I’m devastated that my parents are gone, I’m glad they’re not around to see this.”

I knew exactly what she meant. Like many in our settlement, I’d lost a number of my relatives to the plague that had swept through it years earlier. It would have torn my parents apart to see me be taken away. Especially since it was rumored that the human offerings were tossed into a labyrinth inhabited by a half-man half-bull creature.

Well, it’s a hard ‘no’ from me, thanks.

“My mom’s wrecked,” said Kemp, his voice breaking. “My sister was given to the Sovereigns last time the emissaries came, and my dad’s gone. She’ll be alone now.”

My chest squeezed. While I’d known about his father’s death, I hadn’t been aware of the rest. Being an acolyte, I rarely mingled with the townspeople. My family line had been part of the retinue of the gods since the immortals first appeared in our realm. Hellyne, the Goddess of Fate and Rebirth, had settled here and named the dominion after her most favored pet, a Phoenix bird.

Kemp gave me a sideways glance. “I was surprised when your name was called out. I didn’t think they’d put yours in the bowl. The gods would want you protected, not be made a ‘sacrifice.’”
I tip my head back to look at the sign above the entrance to the building.

Club Zoom.

Holy shit. I’m in front of Club Zoom?

“Hurry!” another woman squeals. “John! Have a heart.”

The women have completely swarmed around me, concealing me from the view of anyone nearby. They crowd in closer, pushing me. Bless them. There is some good left in humanity after all.

I assume John is the giant man blocking the entrance to the club, and he suddenly steps aside before taking my hand and helping me through the doorway.

As soon as I’m inside, he hurries me into a room, out of sight of anyone passing by on the street.

I take deep breaths. “Thank…you.” I’m panting from exertion.

John stands in front of me, rubbing his chin. His brow is furrowed in concern. “Runaway bride?”

I smirk. “How can you tell?” I pluck at the front of my wedding dress. It’s the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I feel like a beluga whale in it.

John glances at his watch. “It’s ten at night. Who gets married this late at night?”

I wince. “The wedding was at five,” I mutter.

“You’ve been running since before five?”

Swallowing hard, I shake my head.

John hesitates, then groans, and runs a hand down the front of his face. “Please tell me you aren’t married. I can’t let you into the club if you’re married.” He glances behind him.

When I follow his line of sight, I realize we’re not alone in this room. There are six other women in here. All of them are sitting around tables staring at me. On closer inspection, I notice they’re each holding a pen, filling out forms. Waivers.

I’ve heard about this club. Everyone has. No one can get in without signing a waiver indicating they realize the risk associated with entering. The risk being that they might get selected by one of the aliens and taken from the planet.

If only I could be that lucky. That’s not likely. I glance down at myself and cringe. I’m not a small woman by any stretch of the imagination, and this dress makes me look even more ridiculous.

“You shouldn’t be here,” John continues.

“Please,” I beg him as I lift my gaze. “If I could just stay for a while so I can think about what to do next. I promise I won’t move from this spot. He can’t get in here, right?”

John’s entire face scrunches up. “Your husband, you mean? A man you married just a few hours ago?”

I cringe at the title. Husband… That asshole can fuck himself for all I care. What he’s not going to do is fuck me. Ever. I just need to figure out how to get out of this mess.

A door opens across the room, and another man enters. He’s tall. About six and a half feet, but I don’t think he’s Eleadian. I’ve heard they’re all over seven feet.

His brow is pinched the same way John’s is. “What’s going on?” He looks me up and down.

John steps to the side and looks at the other man. “Got a runaway bride. The women in line out front surrounded her in some sort of female solidarity. They insisted I let her bypass the line so she could get inside.”

The man rolls his eyes and looks directly at me. “Were you being chased?”

I lick my lips. “Yes. I don’t know how close behind me he was, because I had a head start, but hopefully he passed right by the club when he didn’t see me out front.”

The new man nods to one side of the room. “Come into my office.”

Relieved, I follow him. It’s not easy. I have to gather up the layers of tulle to keep from tripping. The dress was almost too long even with the stupid heels I’d been wearing, but I ditched those ugly shoes before I jumped out of the limo at a stop light. I knew I wouldn’t be able to run in them, but now the fluffy tulle hangs past my feet, dragging. I’ll be lucky if I don’t trip and break my neck. Or maybe that would be the perfect end to my day.

“What’s your name?” the man asks as he pulls out a chair across from what I assume is his desk.

“Mercy.”

“I’m Zack, the manager of Club Zoom.” He pushes a folder across the desk toward me. “First things first. You really must sign the waiver if you’re going to be inside the club.”

“I promise I won’t enter the main club.”

He shakes his head. “Trust me. It doesn’t matter. The fact that you’re inside this building at all is enough to make me nervous.”
PACK RULE #11: NEVER RUN FROM FATE
I waited my whole life to find my mate, then she ran straight into my arms with danger chasing.
I put down the threat and kept her safe.
Now she's seen what I can do—and she's terrified. Of them. Of me. Of the body count I left behind to protect what’s mine.
She doesn't trust her own instincts, doesn't know if I'm her salvation or her next mistake.
She's not wrong to wonder. I'm a wolf who can't survive inside four walls without losing his mind. Claiming her as my fated mate means making a life with her away from the mountains, which might just break me.
But she's mine. My wolf knew it from the first second I caught her scent.
I'll burn the city down to make her mine.
Even if the city ends up burning me first. This steamy cowboy shifter romance features an Asian-American city-girl and the rough, possessive alpha wolf who decides she's his. Fated mates, forced proximity, and a hero who'd bury anyone who looked at her wrong. HEA guaranteed. No cheating or cliffhangers

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

1

BROOKE

* * *

I had the worst instincts.

Swear to God, red flags could be waving in front of my eyes, and I always missed them until it was too late.

Which was how I ended up at the Denver Four Seasons in a business meeting that felt sketchier by the minute.

It was with an important client for our accounting firm. My boss had called me from the hospital, sounding nearly frantic–not because a delivery van had taken him out in a crosswalk and shattered his leg but because he couldn’t make this meeting. He said he needed me to take his place.

Happy for the opportunity to step up the corporate ladder–even for a few hours–and show what a team player I was, I rushed to pick up my boss’s laptop and paperwork from his office, then I drove downtown for the meeting.

But now, I was in a penthouse suite with my company’s client, the twitchy, sweating Mr. Burke, the owner of Burke’s Bowling, a small chain of bowling alleys in Denver, and another guy in a thousand-dollar suit. Since suit guy was flanked by two “associates” who looked like they knocked out teeth for a living, I had a gnawing suspicion something was off.

Like, if this was a movie, he’d be the mafia boss.

“You’re new,” Expensive Suit said, watching me too closely.

What were the odds my boss got hit today of all days?

I never usually took part in client meetings. It wasn’t my job to come out of my cubicle to do more than go to the copier, supply closet, or mailroom. Even though I had a degree in accounting, I’d recently taken the exam to become a certified public accountant and was waiting for my results. Until I passed, I couldn’t legally review and approve tax paperwork or get my license. If I passed because that exam was hard. My job, the one I’d only had for a few months, was contingent on becoming a CPA. If I failed, I got fired.

No pressure, right?

But my boss had said this was a sensitive client meeting that involved the closing of an important business deal. Now, I had a feeling he’d thrown me to the wolves.

The hotel suite was huge. The main room alone was larger than my entire house. I was sitting in an armchair, trying to get the laptop hooked up to the hotel wifi.

“H-here’s the wire transfer information.” Mr. Burke leaned over and handed me a piece of paper. I didn’t miss the way it trembled in his fingers.

I looked down at it then met his eyes.

I read fear in them. He was scared. Why did it seem like he was transferring funds to his business partner under duress?

I looked at the wire transfer information. Cayman Islands. Account Name - Tigerfish. That…was weird. I quickly glanced through the paperwork I’d picked up from my boss’s desk. Three bowling alleys brought in five million dollars in revenue last month? That seemed hard to believe, especially when they only earned just over a million for all of last year. I knew because I worked on their bookkeeping.

Also, these numbers were way too round. The deposits were too frequent and even. Which meant…

I stilled. Dear God. This wasn’t accounting. This was laundering!

I thought going the extra mile for my boss meant the opportunity toward bigger clients that I could manage directly once I got my license, but instead, it looked like I could end up in a prison cell.

I shuffled the papers needlessly. “Um…okay.” I tried to swallow around the tight band squeezing my throat.

The red flags that should’ve been waving the moment I heard I needed to meet a client in a downtown penthouse at six in the evening were now going up left and right as I continued to leaf through the paperwork.

“So, um, I just need to see your IDs and get signatures on transfer authorization,” I said, finally producing the correct form.

“Eugene doesn’t ask for ID,” Expensive Suit snapped in a voice that sent chills down my spine. He meant my boss. The one currently in the hospital. Had this guy put him there? “Just transfer the money.”

My heart pounded against my chest. I glanced up at his two super-sized assistants who flanked him on the other side of the sofa. Did they have guns?

Don’t look! I shouldn’t look. But, did they? God, did they?

If I fucked this up, I’d probably get fired… or worse. But if I’d learned anything in my accounting studies, it was how important a paper trail was.

If I got tangled up in anything untoward, I could lose the opportunity to practice as an accountant, which I’d studied and busted my butt working two jobs to pay for. I could lose everything I worked so hard to accomplish.

Worse, I could go to prison. Or harmed by looming thugs.
Prince Shey is missing.

Erya royal guard Adrian Westergren is “forced” to team up with amorous but annoying dragon Haru to find the lost prince as a favor to the queen of Caspagir.

Adrian was confident Prince Shey had gone off to pout while his ex-boyfriend Rayne got married.

What he found was a twisted conspiracy deep in the heart of Damardor, in which innocent people were being stolen off the streets and disappeared permanently.

There’s a good chance they’ve kidnapped Prince Shey too, along with something much more dangerous.

Nightmares are about to be unleashed that the world has not experienced in centuries.

Adrian and Haru are in a race against time to save Shey, while Adrian fights to protect his heart from a dragon he wants more than anything in the world.

Broken Prince of Ice is the first book in the Forgotten Gods trilogy. This spin-off from the Godstone Saga will include hidden royalty, gods, magic, secrets, danger, angst, forbidden romance, slow-burn romance, friend to lovers, two romantic couples, and a furious fight to keep the world from burning

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

SHEY THRUDESH-VO

“Get him!”

“That alley! Go! Go!”

“Hurry! Don’t lose him!”

Frantic shouts snapped at Shey’s heels as he raced down the dark, trash-strewn alley. Cold, rancid water splashed the legs of his pants as he pounded blindly through one puddle after another. Light from the distant streetlamps didn’t penetrate the deepest of the shadows, forcing him to plunge into the blackness with no idea of what was waiting for him. Shey ran with his hands out in front of him, catching walls at the last second, barely sparing himself a broken nose or a concussion before bouncing off to head in another direction.

Pain sliced through his knuckles and palms. Rough bricks tore away at flesh. He kept moving even as he struggled to draw in air, and a stitch formed in his side. How long had he been running? No idea. The warren of streets and alleys in the Little Stip Garden District was a tangled knot, leaving all but the most hardened locals lost and sobbing.

Shey had been running and hiding through Little Stip for three weeks, desperate to stay a step ahead of his masked pursuers. The only gardens he’d seen in the so-called Garden District were window boxes a few apartment tenants were attempting to cultivate. The name must have been a throwback to decades ago, years prior to New Rosanthe rolling into Damardor and “helping” to erect tightly packed buildings that blotted out the sky and paved over anything green in the name of removing waste.

None of that mattered. Shey had to keep moving.

Juro was dead.

So was Kaede.

He was stuck in Damardor alone with no way of contacting anyone in Sirelis to warn them of…

Of fucking what?

Two months had passed, and he still didn’t have a clear idea of what was happening in Damardor or why. It had taken him all that time to work his way through the capital of Bellcairn, trying to uncover the root of the darkness that was growing in the city’s heart.

This had started as an investigation into why the demeanor and rhetoric coming out of the government had changed so drastically, making them hostile toward every other country—except for New Rosanthe, of course. Within days, Shey had found that all roads led to the disappearance of people in the middle of the night. From their homes and their beds. Off the streets and from shops.

But from what he could tell, these citizens weren’t dissidents or insurrectionists. Not terrorists or a faction of freedom fighters.

No, these were people suspected of having magical abilities.

Just a year ago, he would have laughed the idea off as ridiculous. There was no such thing as magic. At that time, he’d thought even the stories of the gods and the Great War were nothing more than fabrications.

All that had changed when Caelan Talos appeared in Sirelis and revealed that not only was magic real, but so were the gods. Shey had even tied himself to Kaes, the God of Storms, earning a smidgen of magic.

How could more people have magic? The only other people he knew of who had a spark of magic like his own were Rayne Laurent (his ex-lover), and Adrian Westergren. Rayne was bound to Tula, the Goddess of Life, while Adrian was tied to part-time king and part-time God of Hope, Caelan. Were there others who had struck a deal with the gods? Or were they helpless people who had no magic at all?

Unfortunately, Shey had no way of helping them until he found more answers, beginning with who was doing this. All Shey could surmise was that the Damardor government was acting in secret, plotting some wicked scheme now that the country was on the cusp of being free following New Rosanthe’s near collapse at the death of their emperor.

It had to be the government. The people he’d watched from afar were too well funded, and their numbers seemed vast.

Shey paused in a thick shadow, trying to slow his desperate pants so he could better hear his pursuers. Their hammering footsteps had softened. The shouting appeared to have stopped. Was it possible that he’d lost them in all these winding, narrow passageways? His temples throbbed in time with his racing heart. For the past few days, he’d eaten little, and his body was protesting this strenuous treatment.

Someone was watching him. He’d yet to get a good look at their face. Most of the time, he was barely lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a shadow that darted away. He’d remained inside the one-room tenement he’d rented, opting to barter for food with his many neighbors in the hopes of shaking the group watching him.

Tonight had been his first night out in four days. He’d gone out for food and to get a peek at his tail. Instead, he found himself running for his life. If he escaped whoever was after him, he was heading straight for the border with Uris-Oladul, not that it was much of an improvement, but it would get him one step closer to his home in Caspagir. The important thing right now was staying alive and not allowing anyone to discover that he was Crown Prince Shey Thrudesh-Vo of Caspagir—war would be declared between the two countries before the morning coffee could be brewed.
She used to hunt monsters.

Now she’s married to one. Wren thought surviving demons, betrayal, and a forced marriage to Xavier Malus would be the hardest part. She was wrong.

As violence spreads across the city, the fragile peace between humans, vampires, and werewolves begins to fracture. Someone is pulling the strings—and the deeper Wren digs, the more she realizes the real enemy isn’t just monsters… it’s the system that created them.

At the center of it all is Xavier—powerful, ruthless, and the one man she should fear… but can’t stop loving.

When a trap is set that targets her family, Wren is forced into an impossible protect the people she loves, or risk everything to stop a war that could destroy them all.

Because this time, love might not be enough to save her

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter

One

The ground beneath us trembles and another crack breaks out along the floor of the warehouse. Black smoke billows out of the cement, and the smell of fire and brimstone chokes us. The sound of chains being dragged across stone reverberates off everything in the building, rattling the boxes stacked nearby. Xavier holds me closer against his chest and takes a step back.

This can’t be happening. But it is. My blood was the final key to unlocking a portal to hell.

“Toni,” I say weakly, fighting against the drugs Marco injected into my neck. Physically, I want to relent and allow my eyes to close. It takes everything inside me to resist it and I blink several times, looking around as my vision starts to blur. Red hellfire burns before us, flames rising from the crack in the middle of the sigil.

The prophecy. It’s true.

Marcus Henry’s words echo in my head. This was the plan all along. Use me—and my blood—to open a gate to hell and let out a demon. Why? I have no fucking idea and right now isn’t the time to try and figure it out. Right now, we need to leave.

But I can’t...not without Gia and Toni.

“Uh, Wren,” Zeke starts, looking from me to the sigil. “I’m guessing it’s too late to stop whatever this is.”

“Yeah,” I say weakly, and push against Xavier, wanting to get to my feet. He just holds me tighter against himself. “They used me…they used my blood. I’m…I’m the key.” I feel sick as the words tumble out of my mouth.

This was set up. Done on purpose. The Order of the Mystic Realm, an organization founded on protecting humanity from dark forces, summoned a demon to earth. It goes against everything they stand for, yet here we are, witnessing it happen.

I push against Xavier again, and this time he sets me down but keeps a steady hold of my waist. I feebly step forward, eyes narrowing as I look at Marco. He’s on the ground, kneeling with his hands on the floor just inches from the sigil. Reddish firelight flickers across his face and he stares down into the abyss with wide eyes.

“What did you do?” I say through gritted teeth. Marco looks up at me, blinking a few times.

“We did it,” he breathes, looking back into the fire. “We did it.” He jerks his head up, looking at Vivian, and a small smile plays on his face. “We brought forth—”

He’s cut off when the ground trembles again and the crack in the earth widens. My stomach twists and the feeling of impending doom pulls me down. Smoke rises around us, whirling up and making the smoke alarms go off.

“Toni,” I say as I look away. I only make it one step before Xavier catches my wrist.

“I’m sorry, Wren,” he says.

“No,” I tell him. “No.” I hold up my hand, not wanting to even let him finish. Toni will be okay. We’ll call an ambulance. They’ll give him blood. He’ll recover and be furious he was used as a pawn in this game and then we’ll find Gia and fix this whole thing like it never happened and we’ll talk about it over drinks and dinner. It will be okay. It has to be.

“I don’t hear a heartbeat anymore,” Xavier tells me gently, brows pinching together.

“What?” Vivian’s hand goes to her mouth and Marco scrambles to his feet. He reaches for her, irritably shaking his hand for her to take. Maybe it’s the drugs pumping through my system or maybe it’s the shock—probably both—but everything is happening in slow motion.

My vision blurs as I turn my head. There are several dead hunters on the ground around us, and the weight of demonic energy is getting heavier and heavier. Gia was here, in the building somewhere, and no one else has the same sense of urgency I do when it comes to finding her before some sort of monster crawls out of the portal or this place bursts into flames.

And Antonio is still lying on the floor right where I left him, with my jacket covering his face to protect him from the smoke. He’s not moving, and the pool of blood surrounding him is bigger than it was before. I squeeze my eyes shut.
He collects trash for a living.
Before sunrise, he’s collecting her.

Rook Slater is big, brutal, and permanently grumpy. By day, he’s a garbage man. By night, he plays hockey and keeps the world at arm’s length.

Until the fated mate bond strikes hard and fast. One look at Kylie Moon—right after his twenty-eighth birthday—and destiny snaps into place.

She’s his.

There’s just one problem.

Her blood is rare—coveted—and the monsters in the shadows want to claim her.
Evil. Elite. Powerful. These are the kind of men who stop at nothing to have what they want.

But Rook Slater doesn’t lose what’s his.
And he certainly doesn’t bend the knee.

He’s good at taking out the trash—and these monsters are next.

Once fate locks in, Rook won’t just fight for the woman he loves.
He’ll kidnap and kill for her

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Rook

She tries to scream.

I see it before I hear it—the sharp inhale, the panic flaring in her eyes as her mouth opens and nothing comes out. Her breath goes ragged, and she twists her arm violently in the fucking asshole’s grip.

But his hold tightens around her wrist. His mind—and those of the two suited gofers with him—is very much focused on getting Kylie into their Escalade that’s parked in her driveway. I shouldn’t be able to hear their thoughts, but I can. Because of her.

“Stop, Kylie,” he says, already annoyed. “We don’t have time for this.”

The sound of her name on his lips is the final line crossed. I’m out of the Suburban before Kane can even pull it to a stop and stride up her driveway.

“Take your hand off her.”

The man freezes. All three men do, in fact.

I’ve never seen these men. I don’t know them personally, but I know e-fucking-nough to know exactly who they work for and why they’re here.

“Rook Slater,” the one with eyes so light they look transparent says. “We heard some rumblings. Guess I shouldn’t be surprised to see you here.” A faint smile tugs at his mouth. He’s enjoying this. I will fucking kill him.

“This doesn’t involve you,” the man holding Kylie’s arm spits.

“Yeah,” I say evenly. “It does. Because it involves her.”

“She’s coming with us.”

“No. She’s fucking not.” It’s all I say before I make my move. One second, my hand is empty, and the next, I’m behind him, dragging him back by his neck.

She is mine, motherfucker. And no one touches what’s mine.

His grip on Kylie breaks, and my forearm locks around his throat.

And I don’t hesitate then; I yank. Hard.

There’s a sharp crack beneath my arm, and a wet, choking sound leaves his throat. His body jerks once, then goes slack. I hold him there a second longer, just to be sure.

Then I drop his lifeless body to the ground.

Kylie stumbles back, freed from his hold, and shock steals the strength from her legs.

The one with the creepy transparent eyes lunges, but Kane hits him mid-step—muscle crushing bone and the impact sharp enough to echo off the house. The man collapses in a heap, and Calloway has the third man pinned against the Escalade and is landing punch after punch to his face before the man can even register the instinct to fight back.

It’s fucking vicious and violent, but it’s necessary. And at lightning-quick speed, the speed only men like us can utilize, we ensure all three of these motherfuckers won’t be opening their eyes again.

I turn to Kylie. Her wild and terrified gaze finds mine.

“Kylie,” I say as calmly as I can. “We have to go.”

She shakes her head, her body frozen. “What—”

“Now,” I snap, urgency breaking through. “We have to go now.”

She doesn’t move. At this point, I know there won’t be any talking her down or convincing her with words. I can tell by the stiffness in her posture and the rod in her spine and the panic-shakes of her hands.

But we have to go. We have to get the fuck out of here.

I’m going to have to take her. Whether she wants to go or not.

I close the distance between us, and her feet retreat instinctively toward the garage. It breaks my heart to see her this scared, but I have to do what I have to do.

I’m sorry, Ky. Really, I am.

“Rook,” she pleads. “Please. Don’t.”

I step in, pin her arms to her sides, and lift her over my shoulder. She fights me—kicking, twisting, screaming—but I don’t slow down.

“Rook, no!” she gasps. “Put me down!”

I don’t.

Her heart beats faster as my brothers and I take her toward the Suburban with haste.

She screams and fights and cries, and I grind my jaw against the discomfort without slowing my stride.

In this moment, she believes she’ll die at my hands if she doesn’t escape.

What she doesn’t know is how much she’ll suffer under theirs if she does.

Kylie

Wham.

A face slams against the plexiglass before sliding down dramatically, and the brute who sent the poor soul into it skates away while chuckling to his teammates.
He’ll demolish what stands in the way of her.
Even if it’s an empire.
Calloway Slater is quiet, methodical, and the kind of man who makes his living tearing things apart with steady hands and zero hesitation.
But in the last two weeks, things have taken a dramatic shift.
His brothers are mated.
The Elite Council of Vampires wants them dead.
And their uncle is playing a dangerous game Cal doesn’t trust.
Now, because of an ultimatum, he’s standing at the auction—as a participant.
As vampires gather and naïve human women swoon, Cal races the clock to bring the whole thing down before it’s too late.
But when he meets the eyes of beautiful Romy Spencer in the middle of it all, the bond detonates.
Suddenly, this isn’t about survival.
It’s about her.
And if saving Romy means reducing the elite empire to rubble—or getting killed in the process—so be it.
Because once destiny ignites, Calloway Slater doesn’t surrender.
He destroys.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Calloway

My presence in this room alone makes me feel complicit in an act so evil, it should earn a one-way ticket straight to hell.

A man I barely know sits beside me, watching from the corner of his eye as women are paraded across the room like products in a commercial.

It doesn’t matter that this stranger calls himself my uncle.

It doesn’t matter that his bringing me here may have saved my life.

What matters is the demeaning, objectifying, downright degrading scene that plays out in front of me.

Woman after woman in skimpy lingerie is brought through a door and guided onto a raised platform in the center. White numbers sit in front of them like lots in an estate sale.

Some smile and strut, while others do their best to maintain their composure under the bright, blinding lights.

I sit behind a one-way mirror alongside one hundred other male vampires waiting to place a bid on the woman of their choosing via an iPad system designed to maintain fairness and “order.”

My skin crawls with discomfort and disgust, but to these men, this is normal.

Though, the real match strikes when she completes the line, stepping up to the left side of the platform and squinting into the light.

Auburn hair, black lingerie, and sweet cerulean eyes form a picture built for illicit temptation, met with the men’s cruel indifference to the fear trembling through her body.

And when I see her hands shake, a silent scream begs for freedom from my throat.

She’s not the only reason I’m doing this—far from it.

This is a moral imperative. A change to the way my fellow vampires live and the special relationship we have with humans. This is a reckoning for the good of the world and for the safety of women who’ve been used for years.

This is justice.

This is a revolution.

But she—Romy Spencer—makes it personal.

When I’m done with this place, every one of these monsters will beg for mercy while my brothers and I make sure they burn—no matter what it costs us.

Romy

The dullness of distraction grays my normally cerulean eyes in the big mirror of the Neiman Marcus bathroom as I wash my hands.

Outside the door, my mother waits impatiently to shop for my funeral.

“Romy! Hurry up,” she commands, peeking her head in.

“Okay,” I agree complacently before mumbling my dissent under my breath. “It’s not like it’s a normal bodily function to have to pee or anything.”

Or like it’s not outrageous that we’re celebrating this shit anyway.

It’s not that I’m afraid to stand up for myself—it’s that I’ve been trying that to no avail for far too many years. Truly a futile endeavor at this point.

Snatching two paper towels from the holder and drying my hands, I sidle out of the bathroom with dread.

Of course, my mother has my elbow in hand before the door closes behind us, and we’re on the move again.

We’re closing in on hour three of shopping, and as of yet, she’s not happy with anything. It’s too modest. Too slutty. Too polyester, too pink, too blue, too fricking human.

I tried reminding her that’s what we are, but she wasn’t thrilled with that brush with reality. For her, being called to this assignment is as close as you can get to nobility, and that requires a royal outfit befitting Princess Kate.

“You leave for New York tonight,” she blathers, working herself into a fluster all over again with clout-chasing excitement. “If we don’t find something here, I don’t know what we’ll do.”

“Hey, I know!” I snap excitedly. “I’ll just skip it. I’m too young to die anyway.”

“Romy Spencer, stop it right now,” she barks. “Stop complaining about this privilege and belittling the process that’s been very important to our family for generations. And for the love of God, stop referring to it as your funeral. You’re on my last nerve with that one.” She lets out a long sigh. “Let’s not forget that, despite my better judgment, I let you skip the Choosing Mixer.”
