She rides my face, and I love every second of it.

Finally, she lets the pillow go, slumping back and letting out a shuddering breath.

I stand and pull my pants down, my cock springing free.

“I need you,” I snarl. “Show me your tits–now.”

“Raiden,” she pants.

“No more games. Get naked. Right this second.”

She bites her lip, then moans, “Yes, sir. Oh, fuck.”

We both strip quickly. I tear off my shirt and kick off my pants, and underwear. She pulls her shirt over her head.

I don’t have the patience to wait for her to unclip her bra. I climb atop her and pull her bra down, wedging it beneath her big beautiful breasts.

Reaching between our bodies, I grip my thick shaft and guide it between her silky thighs. When my tip kisses her entrance, all doubt drains out of her expression. Her metaphorical mask falls away.

She wants this as much as I do.

I’m about to slip inside of her when there’s a loud crash against the door.

Talk about shitty timing.

I leap to my feet and pull on my pants, rushing shirtless to the door. It probably takes me thirty seconds, too damn long. The guard is lying unconscious on the ground, a dent in his mask as though he was struck with something heavy.

There’s a note on the floor next to him, written in red ink… or something else.

Next time, I won’t miss.

I rush down the hallway, look left and right, but there’s no sign of the bastard anywhere. I quickly return to the room. Aurora has gotten dressed in the meantime. She kneels next to the guard, helping him to sit up.

“What happened?” I grunt.

Aurora looks sharply at me. “He needs medical attention.”

“And he’ll get it… once he tells me what happened.”

“A man in a wolf mask,” the guard groans.

“A wolf mask,” I mutter. “Julian often wears those.”

“He rushed me. Hit me. I’m sorry.”

“You don’t need to apologize. We’ll get you some help.”

Aurora and I take the guard to the main hall and hand him over to two guards.

Then I take Aurora’s arm.

“Where are we going?” she asks.

Am I imagining the tightness in her voice? The repressed lust?

We were so close. Despite the sudden change in mood, my body is still aching. My manhood is still hard and hungry. I do my best to repress my desires, push them down, pretend they don’t exist.

“To talk with the wolf.”

I guide her through the mansion to Julian’s room. He answers the door with bleary eyes, as if he’s just woken up. An act?

I grab the front of his shirt and push him against the wall.

“No more games,” I snarl. “Was it you?”

He pushes at my hand. Tears in his eyes. “No, man. No. I can’t believe you’d think that about me.”

“I never thought you’d rip me off, but you did that.”

“I swear on Grandmother, this wasn’t me.”

“Someone just came to my room wearing a wolf mask and assaulted one of our guards.”

Julian shakes his head stubbornly. “Not me.”

“You’ve got no way to prove that.”

“Neither do you,” Julian says. “Because I didn’t do it.”

My hand trembles as I think about shoving him repeatedly against the wall until his bones break. It’s only Aurora’s hand on my arm that stops me and calms me down… somewhat.

“You’re lucky she’s here,” I snarl.

“I swear.” Julian is full on weeping now. “I can’t believe you’d think I was capable of this.”

I push him away, turn, and take Aurora’s hand.

“We’re going to Grandma’s suite until the cops get here,” I tell Aurora. “If anything happened to you…”

I don’t finish the thought. I don’t need to.

She looks at me with shock.

“Don’t look so damn surprised. I brought you here; you’re my responsibility. Let’s move.”

CHAPTER 23

AURORA

Ibrought you here; you’re my responsibility. Let’s move.

His words bounce around my head as we hurry through the mansion. Is that really why he looked so worried, so desperate to protect me?

Or is he beginning to care too?

Evangeline’s suite is bigger than most apartments. The three of us sit around the table. Evangeline seems reluctant to look at her grandson, instead staring down at the table, her eyes glistening as if she’s on the verge of tears.

It’s understandable. She almost lost him. That must be a horrible thought.

Outside, the storm has finally begun to abate.

“Is anybody hungry?” Evangeline asks.

Raiden looks at me. “Starving.”

I haven’t showered since he touched me, tasted me. I can still feel the phantom impression his touch left on me. I squeeze my legs together under the table.

“I’ll have Sebastian bring us some food.”

“Where is he, your best buddy?”

Evangeline scowls. “Don’t be cruel about him.”

“People say you two are lovers, Grandma.”

“I’ve heard the sick rumors.”

“Sometimes, I wonder why we let him get so close.”

Grandma rolls her eyes. “Are you saying he’s a suspect?”

“Everyone’s a suspect,” Raiden snaps.

I place my hand on his arm. “Hey–Raiden.”

He looks at me sharply, like he’s going to snap at me now. But something about my touch seems to soothe him.
