He stared at her. Silence. Did that mean a yes? Was that a warning to shut up and leave?

“Don’t worry about it,” she said, getting to her feet and carrying her plate out of the office. She heard him calling her name, but she felt like a fool. A stupid fool.

This was sex. Or it would be, if they actually had sex.

She had no idea what he did throughout the day.

Peyton didn’t discard her food. She had never wasted anything in her life, and she covered it with some plastic wrap and placed it in the fridge. She would eat later, if she could stomach it.

“I’m not seeing any other women. What makes you think I would?” Shae asked.

She hadn’t expected him to follow her.

“Don’t worry about it.”

“For fuck’s sake, Peyton, don’t play mind games with me. You don’t have to do that shit with me. Just tell me what you got to say.”

She turned toward him, about to shout at him, but he stood at the counter, hands pressed on the flat surface, and he looked ... different. He didn’t seem quite so scary as usual.

“You ... don’t ... you never, ugh, you, orgasm. You don’t orgasm, and well, you give me a lot of orgasms, but you never want me to give you an orgasm. We’re not having sex, and I wondered, because we didn’t negotiate if you were seeing other women, does that mean I can see other men?”

She saw his nostrils flare.

Peyton had absolutely no interest in seeing anyone else. Men were of no interest to her.

He rounded the counter and closed the distance between them. Peyton tried to put a little distance, but her back hit the fridge, and there was nowhere else for her to go. She was stuck.

“Any man that touches you, I will fucking kill them,” Shae said. “You’re mine, Peyton, and no, I have no interest in seeing or touching, or being around other women. I am all yours.”

That should not thrill her as much as it did.

“All I want to do is fuck you, to play with you, Peyton. But I am not going to scare you away. You’re a virgin—”

“That doesn’t mean you can’t teach me to please you,” she said.

“You want to please me?” he asked.

At first, she just looked at him, because she had a horrible feeling she had just worked herself into a corner. It was strange, though, she was not afraid. Shae was not going to hurt her. She was certain of that. If he was going to hurt her, he would have done it that first night.

So, she nodded her head. Peyton didn’t know if she had just doomed herself, but either way, that didn’t matter now.

“Get upstairs,” he said. “And wait for me.”

****

Who could have known that Peyton would prove to be a jealous little thing? Shae sure hadn’t, not that she would have a problem. He had no desire in any other woman, and it had been a long time since he was with another woman. So freaking long.

Running fingers through his hair, he started to make his way upstairs, giving her plenty of time to back out and for reality to set in. He expected her to have run away by now.

Only, as he entered his bedroom, he was shocked to see she was sitting on the bed, waiting for him, exactly as he asked her to.

Closing the door behind him, he took several steps into the room, before he stopped, looked at her, and waited.

She tilted her head back to look at him, and he stared into her pretty blue eyes. He had imagined this moment for so long.

Yes, all he wanted to do was fuck her. To slide his cock deep inside her pussy, but he wanted to build up trust, that was what he wanted to do.

He didn’t want her afraid.

When the time came to finally claim her, he wanted her to be more than ready.

“Peyton, you can back out of this,” he said.

“I don’t want to. I don’t want you going to any other woman, and while I’m here, if you need something, then you come to me.”

“No men,” he said. “I’ll fucking kill them if they come near you.”

She nodded. “You don’t have to worry about anyone else. There isn’t anyone.”

Shae pulled off his shirt, tossing it across the room. “Come here,” he said.

Peyton got off the bed and tentatively made her way toward him, putting one foot in front of the other. He had a feeling something was going to change after this. She was finally crossing that line with him, and he was more than ready for it.

The moment the distance was closed, he placed a finger beneath her chin and tilted her head back. “I’m not going to hurt you,” he said.

She nodded.

“If at any time, you don’t want this, and you want to stop, you just say so.”
