Not exactly an answer, but either way, it’s good enough for me. I’m not the moral or ethics police. What she does is none of my business.

“You seem like a trustworthy gal.”

Not really—not with that calculated glint in her eye.

Still, it’s broad daylight. What could possibly happen in the parking lot next to an administrative building?

Oh, how the mind wanders…oh, how the eyes stray.

Hers.

Mine.

I can’t help myself. It’s human nature, and she’s gunning for me, anyone with decent vision can see that.

Felicity stands so close I can smell her. “I don’t think I’ve seen you at many parties. Where do you keep yourself?”

“I party.”

“Where?”

“Bars mostly.” Not a lot but I do get out. Few times a month, maybe? Now that I don’t have to bust my ass because we have games, I’ll go out more than I do during the regular football season.

She’s in my space, chin tilted up. “Has any girl ever…” She lowers her eyes. “You know.”

Uh. No, I don’t know. “Know what?”

“You know—has any girl at a party or whatever, ever offered to…”

Her eyes are downcast again, then flick back up to mine.

Is she asking what I think she’s asking?

“Offered to…?” I think I know what she’s implying, but I need to hear the words myself before jumping to conclusions.

She shifts on her heels, adjusting the bag on her shoulder. I’m not saying she looks uncomfortable, but this time, she does turn a particular shade of pink.

“To do you a personal favor.”

A personal favor?

Personal…

Ohhhh! She means BLOW JOB! Ah, this makes more sense to me now, but the reason she’s asking still confuses me.

I nod. “Yeah sure—all the time.”

All the fucking time, actually, especially when I’m out and drinking, although to be fair it happens to friends of mine, too, and not just the football player variety. I hear all the time about chicks offering to blow the bouncers and door dudes at bars and clubs so they can skip the line and get inside—usually if they’re underage.

Never been approached about it in a parking lot, though—

Nope.

That’s not true. I have been approached in parking lots, but it’s normally outside a bar.

“Interesting.” Felicity clucks her tongue. “When was the last time anyone offered?”

Anyone? Or any female, ’coz I’ve had dudes offer, too. Never taken one up on it, but they have offered…

I shrug. “Probably a few months ago.” It’s been a slow social year, what with the pressure of football, my brother starting his NFL career, and my other brother already playing in it. Not to mention, our new roommate, who happens to be a female and my brother’s girlfriend.

“Are you interested?”

Come again? It’s barely four o’clock!

Not that there’s an appropriate time to get one’s dick sucked, but this doesn’t seem like one of them.

I give the watch on my wrist a cursory glance. “I really don’t have time for a blow job—unless you can make it super quick?”

“Super quick?” Her face scrunches up as if I’ve said something distasteful.

“Yeah. You’d have to suck it hard and fast to get me to come. I have shit to do.” My words are matter of fact. Are they harsh? Maybe. But I’m Drake Colter, and I only have time for one game, and that game is football.

Felicity’s mouth falls open, which is a good start to moving things along. “You don’t have time for a blow job? What else do you have going on that’s more important?”

Why does she sound so annoyed? I’m keeping it real!

“Um, my brother has a date, and I have to check it out.”

“Your brother has a date?” she deadpans, unenthused. “Were you invited?”

“No.” Not that it matters, but Drew and I do almost everything together. Shouldn’t I have a say in who he decides to spend his time with when we’re not?

“So…you’re crashing a date?”

“No.” I roll my eyes. “I’m checkin’ it out. There’s a difference.” I pause. “And I wouldn’t call it a date. They’re having drinks ’cause they’ve never met.”

Felicity doesn’t look convinced. “What’s the difference?”

“I’m not planning on ruinin’ it. I only want to meet the chick to see if we’ll vibe.”

Felicity crosses her arms. “You’re telling me you’d rather go and hijack your brother’s date than get your dick sucked.”

Yeah, totally. It’s not like I’m all that horny.

I scratch behind my ear. “Do y’all take rain checks?”

Her nostrils flare. “No.”

I would if I were her, but who am I to tell her how to live her life. “That a hard no?”

“Hard no.”

That’s a shame but not really a drag. Plenty of lips on campus willing to do the job if I have an itch, the girl next door—Shannon—being one of them, though she and her roommates aren’t really welcome around the house anymore.

If I want sex without benefits, I have to walk my dick next door.

Bit of a pain ’cause that means I can’t roll over and go straight to sleep after having an orgasm.
