Chapter 5

Tanner

I go home frustrated every single day. Tonight’s Emmitt’s Bachelor party. It’s not really one anyone would call traditional, but he insisted that he doesn’t want a stripper or to head out to a strip club. I’m not into that either, so it’s going to be a night of drinking and pool at my dad’s. The wedding is in two days, but I have to prepare a last-minute audit on a client’s new business acquisition, so I’ll be back just in time for the wedding. Since Addison has a lot to do, I gave her the rest of the week off, which is fucking great because I’ve decided it was a bad idea to have her around me all day. I ache to sink my hands into her hair, push her down on her knees, and stuff her mouth every time she gives me an attitude.

“I should have known this party would be lame, Tanner’s throwing it,” Frank, one of Emmitt’s dickwad friends, says.

“I’m not trying to get off on a stripper, Frank. Maybe you should lay off fucking women you’ve just met.”

“Where’s Phil?” Emmitt interrupts before Frank and I fight.

“He’s not going to make it tonight. He’s at a strip club, paying to get his balls licked,” Gore says. I like him more than Frank, but they both are assholes who have their eyes on Addison whenever they get a chance. I pass around a couple of beers to each of the guys.

“How about some pool?” I ask.

“I’m in,” Emmitt says.

“For money?” Frank tosses out there.

“How much?” I’m the wealthiest of all of us, so I’m not worried about the money. It also helps that I can whip their asses within two turns.

“How about a hundred bucks a round,” Frank says since he’s the one who mentioned money.

“I’m in,” Emmitt and Gore say.

“Works for me.” I roll back my sleeves and loosen my tie.

“I’m going to wipe the floor with you. Then I’m going to look for the maid of honor and fuck her pretty little brains out,” Franks says, stroking the pool stick.

I’m around the table and in his face. “Touch her, and you won’t take another breath.”

He laughs but takes a couple steps out of my reach. “Ah…so you like girls? Or are you just protective?”

“Shut the fuck up and play,” Emmitt orders. I walk away from the bastard before I kill him. I can’t ruin Emmitt’s wedding by going to jail for murder.

* * *

For the next four hours, we play game after game, getting sloppy drunk. Emmitt leans over as we sit on the stools waiting for our turn. “You know Addison’s got a thing for you.”

“What?”

“Yeah, she dreams of you at night. She cries out your name like you’ve been dipping your tongue into her pussy. I swear. Madison wants you two together. She’s perfect for you.”

“Don’t ever mention her pussy again.”

“Sorry, those were Madison’s words, not mine. I love my head between her legs, and she screams out my name.”

“I think you’re wasted.” Emmitt couldn’t stand up on his own anymore.

“I’m in love.” He’s totally fucked up and needs to go to bed. I do too. This time, though, I’m going to jerk off knowing that Addison’s probably doing the same damn thing. Soon. I’m going to take what’s mine, spreading her open and licking her until she can’t take another minute of it.

I stumble out in the hallway with Emmitt. We reach his doorway, and Addison comes out as I reach for the handle. “Maddie, baby,” Emmitt growls, entering the room.

I close the door and say, “He’s shitfaced, beautiful.”

“And so are you.” I’m not as drunk as she thinks I am, or I’d do something stupid like carry her off to my bed and fuck her brains out, filling her with enough cum to make sure she’s knocked up. She grabs my arm and spins me toward my bedroom. “Up to bed.”

I stop her and shake my head. “I need to go home. I have work to do.”

She puts her hands on her hips, giving me that look that stiffens my dick instantly. “Um. You are not driving. I won’t have you ruin this wedding by dying on us.”

“I’m not driving. I’m going to take the limo back,” I inform Addison. I can’t have my sweet obsession losing sleep by worrying about me. I’ve already sent a text to the driver. Besides, I don’t want to have a chance to run into that shrew.

“Oh. Okay. You are going to be back in time for the wedding, right?” She bites her bottom lip, and I see it. The same look she’s given me often. It’s not until now that I realize what it is—longing.

“Of course. I’ll see you in two days.” I brush my lips against her cheek. “Sweet dreams, Addison.” She doesn’t move, and I’m afraid I’ve made a big mistake, but then out of the corner of my eye I see her press her hand to her heated cheek. Fuck, I need to walk out. Now. Damn this client to hell.
