We take his truck to the hospital, but the entire time, he keeps stealing glances at me. It wouldn’t surprise me if he tried to kidnap me and take me to the emergency room to make sure I’m perfectly fine.

The Christmas party is in full swing when we get there, and there’s something amazing about watching Rogue interact with the kids. Last time, it added to my attraction, and it does again today. But it’s different this time because it makes me think about the little life growing in my stomach.

I can’t wait. I know from his interactions with Mackenzie that he’s a great dad. But I can’t wait to see him holding our baby.

When I come out of the bathroom for the third time in an hour, Santa sweeps me into his arms and tells Marsha with a wink that he’s taking Mrs. Claus home.

She laughs from her place on Charles’s arm. Apparently, we weren’t the only two who fell in love last Christmas.

Rogue carries me out to the truck, and I lie contentedly in his arms. “Are you kidnapping me again, Mr. Claus?”

“Damn straight I am,” he says and sets me gently in the truck. He passes the seatbelt around me, his fingers caressing the side of my chest. I arch into his touch. It finally makes sense. Why I’ve been so sensitive lately, and why puppy commercials keep making me cry.

He chuckles at my eagerness. “Soon,” he promises.

On the ride home, he threads our fingers together and I snuggle into him. The drive doesn’t take long because I fall asleep against his shoulder. I only wake when he pulls into the driveway and carries me inside our warm, cozy cabin.

“I have a gift for you,” I tell him as I push him to sit down on the sofa.

He frowns. “It’s not even Christmas yet for a few days.”

“Well, I want to give you this one early,” I insist and move to the tree. I dig for the present that I brought today, carefully wrapped in gold paper. I pull it free and bounce across the room to him.

He’s going to be so happy about this, isn’t he? For a moment, doubt creeps into my mind. What if Rogue is done? He’s already raised one daughter. What if he doesn’t want another kid? We’ve never talked about it. I’d just assumed because we never bothered with condoms that he wasn’t concerned about a potential pregnancy.

“What’s got you so worried?” Rogue reaches for the gift, and I try to snatch it back, except that I can’t really take it back. Because now there’s a tiny part of Rogue growing inside me. I hope our baby has his eyes.

“It can wait until later,” I finally tell him.

He pats the empty cushion next to him on the sofa. I take it, relinquishing the box in my hands. “I don’t have a gift receipt for this one.”

He puts a hand on my knee. “Whatever it is, I’m sure I’ll love it.”

He slowly unwraps the paper to reveal a T-shirt box. He opens it, grabbing the little piece of cloth. Slowly, he unfolds a newborn onesie that reads Baby Claus in red and green font.

He freezes, then slowly turns to me. “Does this— Is this…?”

I nod, tears spilling down my cheeks.

He thumbs away my tears. “This is the best gift you’ve ever given me.”

“Really?” I croak out the word, and it has him gathering me in his arms.

He holds me tight and says softly, “I kept hoping and praying…”

“You never said anything.” If he had brought it up, we could have started trying sooner. But I didn’t know how to tell him what I wanted.

“I didn’t want to pressure you,” he explains.

“So this is good news?”

He grins down at me. “This is the best news,” he says and kisses me.

I sniff. “Good.” I rest my head on his shoulder and relax against him. He kisses me, a long deep kiss that has my panties growing damp.

I break the kiss and give him a smile. “Come on, Santa. I want to go to the North Pole.”

He chuckles before carrying me to our bed, where we spend the rest of the night making love. I’m so glad my Santa kidnapped me that night. He loves me fiercely and has made all my dreams come true.
