That’s not the only reason you want to push, a dark little voice said at the back of his head.

Cam ignored it.

He looked Scott in the eye and said, “Do you want me to fuck you?”

Scott opened his mouth and closed it without saying anything. His cheeks bright red, he glared at Cam sullenly. “Of course not,” he said at last. “I’m a top. Exclusively. Everyone knows it.”

Cam smiled faintly. “Yes, you’re quick to let everyone know that.”

“What the hell are you implying?”

Cam put a hand on Scott’s face and gripped his chin. “For someone who constantly accuses me of being homophobic, you’re pretty prejudiced yourself,” he said. “Being gay is all fine and good as long as you aren’t the one taking it up the ass, right?”

Scott scowled at him. “That’s not—it’s not like that! I’m hardly the only gay man who prefers to top.”

“You don’t prefer to top,” Cam said, his lips twisting. “You’ve never tried anything else, so it’s not a genuine preference but something based on the prejudice against something you’ve never actually tried.”

Scott gave a harsh laugh, shaking his head. “By that logic, straight people who’ve never tried sex with people of their own sex aren’t actually straight. That’s not how it works.”

“That’s different and you know it,” Cam said, unimpressed. “Either you’re attracted to someone or you aren’t. What you do in bed with them is a different matter altogether.”

Breathing hard and looking increasingly like a cornered animal, Scott glowered at him. “That’s funny coming from a ‘straight’ man who’s been fucking another man’s mouth on and off. So are you attracted to me or not?”

Cam’s jaw tightened. He supposed he deserved that. He looked Scott in the eye. “Yes. It would be ridiculous to claim otherwise.”

Scott stared at him with wide eyes. “What.”

“I’m not attracted attracted to you,” Cam said with a grimace. “I’m still mostly straight. But I do find you—appealing. Aesthetically. You are ridiculously pretty.” He chuckled, glancing down at Scott’s lips. “And at this point, it’s become a bit of a Pavlovian response for me.”

Scott was blinking, his cheeks pink. “I’m not pretty,” he snapped. “I’m handsome. Hot. Not pretty.”

Cam stared at him, at how uncharacteristically flustered he looked, and wondered who had fucked him up this badly.

He heard himself say, “Let me fuck you.”

Scott went still, his eyes widening. A deer caught in headlights.

A laugh left his throat. “No,” he said weakly. “I don’t do that.” He added, as an afterthought, looking at Cam a little uncertainly, “You aren’t my type, but I could fuck you if you want.”

“No,” Cam said. “Not interested.”

Scott laughed again. “Who’s being a hypocrite now? What happened to a preference not being legit if you haven’t even tried anything else?”

“Who said I didn’t try it?” Cam said, staring him down. “One of my ex-girlfriends was really into trying all sorts of stuff.”

Scott frowned. “Really? You don’t seem like the type to allow a woman to peg you.”

“I didn’t,” Cam said shortly. “She used fingers during a blowjob, but it was enough for me to know it doesn’t do much for me. It was just odd and off-putting.”

“And why do you think it would be different for me?” Scott said, lifting his chin.

Cam shrugged. “Maybe it wouldn’t be. But you actually need to give it a try. And I think, deep down, you want to. Or you wouldn’t act this way with me.”

Scott shot him a sullen look. “What way?”

“Like a jealous, possessive girlfriend.” Cam’s lips twisted. “I’ve had girlfriends who were less possessive of my dick than you are.”

Scott flushed, his jaw working, his expression mulish.

Cam felt a surge of affection for him. Then came annoyance—at himself, for his bizarre inability to stay annoyed with this guy, no matter how ridiculous he was being.

“You know what?” Cam said, sighing and turning away. “Whatever. I’m done.”

“You’re done?” Scott said sharply. “What is that supposed to mean?”

Cam headed to his room. “I’m not exactly the best person to deal with your hang-ups,” he said, walking to his suitcase and opening it. He started packing briskly. “Especially when you won’t even admit that you have them.”

“You’re just angry I didn’t let you get laid,” Scott said from behind him.

“That too,” Cam said curtly, though he wasn’t being entirely truthful. He hadn’t really wanted to fuck those women, but there was unresolved sexual tension under his skin that made his tone shorter than it otherwise would have been. He wasn’t even that angry with Scott. He was angry at the whole situation, at how messy and confusing it had gotten. He was angry that there was a part of him that wanted to shove Scott down onto his knees and shut him up with his cock.

Scott was silent for so long Cam started thinking he’d left.

“Do you actually want to fuck me?”
