Biba didn’t pull away. Instead, she kissed me even more passionately. Her lips glided and brushed against mine at a patient pace, her fingers sliding up into my hair.

I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her body flush against mine. Her curves pressed against my firm body, sparking a desirous flame inside of me. I wanted her. I needed her. Finally, she was back in my arms with her lips against mine.

Biba tangled her fingers in my hair, tilting her head to capture my lips at a different angle. Her lips parted against mine, her tongue subtly brushing mine as our pace quickened. Desperation set in, and our grips tightened.

My fingertips slipped under her shirt, teasing the soft skin of her lower back. Needing to feel her warm skin against mine, I slipped her shirt off her body, leaving her in a black bra that accented the perfect curves of her breasts. I let her tug off my shirt before grabbing her hips and drawing her body back against mine.

Biba moaned softly into my mouth as she wrapped her arms around my neck. Her noises were so torturously delicious, and I drank in every single moan, breath, and sigh. Even if we were supposed to be secretive, I couldn’t begin to care if someone heard us.

I squeezed her curves appreciatively, wanting to touch her all over. I didn’t even care if we made love among all of these old file boxes. I just wanted her. I lowered my hands to the waist of her pants, deftly unbuttoning and unzipping them.

Suddenly, Biba froze up, her lips halting. She batted my hands away and stepped back with a panicked look on her face. Her eyes locked with mine before darting to the door. Then, they were back on mine.

At first, I thought that she was going to say something, to explain why she looked so petrified. She didn’t say a word, though. Before I could ask her what was wrong, she pulled on her shirt and adjusted her pants before hurrying out of the archives, leaving me there alone and confused.

I listened to the door shut, the clunk echoing throughout the room. I blinked in confusion, trying to process what in the world just happened. Things had been going fine between us until she froze up. Something came to her mind to make her stop, and she ran off in a panic.

Dread steadily filled me as I slipped my shirt back on. What if she never talked to me again? What if I offended her? What if she told the Kings about us? That would only make things ten times worse for me, and I had thought that things were already as bad as they could’ve been.

Not only were Zephyr and Arvo already suspicious of me, but if they found out that I had been physical with Biba without them knowing and approving, they would have another reason to hunt me down. I was playing with fire messing around with Biba, but I couldn’t help myself. She was so alluring, and the other Kings knew that too.

Doing damage control would be a good idea, but I didn’t even know where to start. Biba was supposed to be my key to getting back in with the Kings, but that obviously wasn’t an option anymore. She left me in the dust, and once again, I felt all alone.

CHAPTER 14

ZEPHYR

It had been hours since Biba left my suite, and I was still fuming with anger over her suspicious behavior. Why was she acting like that toward me? I wondered if I had done anything to make her upset… or if someone had done something to draw her away from me.

Lately, she had been entertaining Arvo quite a bit. There was certainly chemistry between the two, and the thought of them getting closer while she got further away from me made jealousy flare through me. She was mine first, and she would be mine in the end.

Arvo was lucky that I agreed to share her. I didn’t give him permission to be with her so that he could steal her away to have her all to himself. The thought of her leaving me for someone else made my jaw tighten. That couldn’t happen. I wouldn’t let that happen. I would cast her aside before that happened. She was supposed to be loyal to me.

What if she wasn’t in the library right now? What if she was with Arvo? Kissing him. Fucking him. Ditching me. I jumped to my feet and stormed out of my suite, thundering down the hallway on a warpath. I hadn’t ever been this pissed off over a girl before, but I knew that she wasn’t just some girl.

She was the first girl that I had ever felt jealousy over, and it wasn’t a great feeling. It made my stomach twist, my chest grow tight. Honestly, it made me feel sick, and I just wanted it to go away. The only way that I could do that was to make sure that Biba favored me over anyone else. If she was special to me, I wanted to be special to her too. I didn’t care if that sounded selfish or not.
