The same goes for our daughter when she gets here in a few months. They have a whole world of possibilities. We want them to chase whatever dreams they have, not try to cram themselves into the dreams we make for them.

So long as they're happy and healthy, we're happy. And we are happy. Every day with Colter is an adventure. And every night is a dream come true. I never imagined this was what the future held for me when I stepped into that locker room five years ago. I couldn't have imagined it. But, God, I'm so freaking glad I got lost.

I found nirvana, and it's beautiful.

"What's the story?" Colter asks, pulling me into his arms.

"The perfume guy who lives in town just announced his plan to sell his wife's company for billions," I murmur. "Less than two months after his missing daughter was legally declared dead."

"Shit. You think he killed his own daughter?"

"Her shares passed to him when she died, making him the majority stakeholder. But he was allegedly in France when she went missing."

"How long has she been missing?"

"Since a few weeks after her eighteenth birthday."

"Jesus," he mutters, dropping his head to mine. "You aren't going to be able to let this go, are you?"

"She's been missing for seven years," I whisper. "If he didn't kill her, where is she?"

Colter sighs heavily. "I guess we'll find out one way or another, pretty baby. But don't even fucking think about putting yourself or my baby in danger, do you hear me?" He tips my chin up, his gaze unyielding. "I will spank your gorgeous ass until you plead for mercy if the thought even crosses your mind."

"You know I wouldn't do that." I place a hand on my belly, cradling my bump.

"I know, but you couldn't stay out of trouble if I paid you, pretty baby." He shakes his head, his expression rueful. "You attract it like a damn magnet."

"I do not."

"Yeah, you do." He tips my head back, brushing his lips across mine. "How the fuck do you think you ended up married to me, goddess?"

"Good point. Maybe I should see if it's too late to trade you in on a less troublesome model," I mutter, turning on my heel as if I'm going to leave the kitchen.

He grabs me, pulling me back into his arms. Before I can protest, he scoops me up into his arms and strides out of the kitchen.

"Where are we going?"

"Gonna remind you why you like this troublesome model so much," he growls, heading for the stairs.

"The boys will be home in half an hour."

"Then it's a good thing I can make you come in five, isn't it?"

"I guess so." I smile, pressing my face to his shoulder. God, I love him. He promised me a life of excitement and adventure, and he delivered. Every single day with him just gets better and better. I have a feeling they always will. He'll make sure of it.
