I removed my hand from Elaina’s mouth, and she reached for Joey. I nodded once at him, and he stepped in, running his hands over her body. I continued ramming inside of her while he soothed her. And fuck, the way her pussy clenched around me—shit.

“Elaina,” I growled, my balls drawing up tight.

“Inside me,” she gasped, clawing at Joey to hold herself steady.

Two more brutal pumps and I buried myself deep inside of her, giving her every bit of my essence. She screamed, her body shaking as she came, her walls clutching at me like she was trying to suck my cock straight into her body.

“Oh—Oh, fuck—I can’t—need—”

She was panicking, her words becoming gibberish. Joey eased her into a standing position, and I very gently pulled out of her.

“Easy, sweet girl,” he soothed as my cum leaked out of her, running down her curvy, pale thighs. “Breathe.”

I gently gripped her hips, staying silent, and tugged her back so the hot water hit her, too. Joey followed, not releasing her, and we sandwiched her between us. She was shaking so badly, her teeth were chattering, goosebumps popping up all over her body despite the heat of the water.

“A-Ale—”

“I’m here, pequeña,” I assured her. “Just focus on breathing.” She hadn’t been ready. Not yet. And I’d ignored her mental health instead of taking care of her like I should have.

I was a selfish prick.

“You know he’s not leaving you,” Joey assured her. “We’ve got you. We love you. We’re never leaving you.”

I ran my hands over her shoulders and back. Eventually, her trembling ceased, and the goosebumps left her body. “I’m sorry,” she whispered.

“Nothing to apologize for,” I assured her, pressing a kiss to her temple. “We both know I get too rough, and your mind can’t always handle it. This falls on me, little one.”

She turned in Joey’s arms to face me. Her small hands came up to cup my cheeks, my stubble pricking her palms. “I know what I’m getting into with you every time, Alejandro. If I can’t blame myself, you can’t blame yourself, either. It doesn’t work that way.”

My lips tilted up the slightest bit. Reaching up, I brushed the pad of my thumb over her lower lip. “Let’s get you cleaned up. You need rest after that.”

She wrapped her arms around me, and Joey let her go, a smile tilting his lips.

He loved watching her get what she needed from both of us. He kept me from being selfish with her. And together, we both kept her grounded and safe.

I wrapped my arms around her, and Joey worked on bathing her, being extremely gentle between her thighs. It would take her a day or two to recover from what I’d done to her. I grimaced at the little bit of blood that came away on the cloth, but he silently shook his head at me.

I pressed my lips to the top of her head. “You are my world, little one,” I murmured.

She just snuggled closer to me in response.

And I’ll slaughter anyone who tries to take me from you, I silently promised.

CHAPTER SIX

Joey

My phone rang on the table in the chapel, the vibrations from it making it slowly move toward the edge. Grunting, I grabbed it up and dropped my pen onto my notebook. Alejandro’s name was on the screen.

Shit. That wasn’t fucking good.

He’d left again early this morning, and though Elaina tried to hide it, I could tell she was upset that he was gone again so soon after coming home. He really couldn’t have gotten more than three or four hours of sleep before he headed back down to Mexico.

I knew it was bad because he had his men with him, which meant he had cause for protection. I was doing my best to keep Elaina from worrying, which meant I had to hide from her the fact that Alejandro was needing protection to travel back and forth between here and Mexico.

Whatever the hell Alejandro was dealing with, it was dangerous.

“Yeah?” I asked when I answered, drumming my fingers on the table. The door to the chapel was shut, but I kept my voice low just in case anyone happened to be listening outside of those doors—like Elaina. She wasn’t above eavesdropping if she thought she might find out what was going on with Alejandro.

Our woman was a sneaky one when she wanted to be.

“I don’t know when I’m coming back to the states,” Alejandro told me. I muttered a curse. “It’s not safe for me to travel anymore—not until this is taken care of.”

I fucking knew it.

“Alejandro, what the fuck is going on?” I hissed. “I’ve kept my mouth shut and haven’t asked out of respect, but this has gone on long enough.”

He grunted. “There’s a group rising up against me,” he informed me. Mother of fucks. “They burnt down one of my houses and are attacking my men and their families. From my understanding, the goal is to take down the cartel and the Mexican government, and they want to start with me and everyone attached to me.”
