“Hey,” I said, getting to my feet.
“Hello, my little witch,” he rumbled, bending to wrap his arms around me.
I melted into his furry chest, sighing as his warmth wrapped around me. He smelled like cinnamon and cedar, and something that was just…him.
“I missed you,” he murmured into my hair. “Guys night was fun, but I can’t wait to get you alone.”
My knees went a little weak.
“Soon,” I whispered back. “Knitting circle is almost over.”
He pulled back just enough to smile down at me, brushing his knuckles over my cheek.
“You’re glowing, little witch.”
I laughed.
“Must be the tea—Celia brought some whiskey to add to it, and we had a little fun.”
But in truth, it was him. It was this place…it was the joy I never thought I’d get to feel again.
After Craig died, I thought the rest of my story was going to be lived out in loneliness and quiet grief. But then I found Hidden Hollow. I found Shadow. And somehow, through magic and love and a little bit of yarn, I found myself again too.
As I looked around the cozy, laughter-filled shop—at the women knitting, the shelves brimming with color, and the monster who had become my mate—I felt it settle in my heart like a spell that brought protection, peace and love.
I never thought this life could be mine and yet, here I was. It just goes to prove that…
In Hidden Hollow… anything is possible.
THE END?
OF COURSE NOT!
There are many more Hidden Hollow books coming.
