“Suck it all you want, Roe.” He groaned. “We’re still going.”

We weren’t going. I swallowed him back until his muscles were rigid tense. “What about Nero’s?” I asked.

I licked him again, his fingers knotting in my hair. “Or Frank’s Famous Chicken? You love it.”

He groaned when I took him all the way back. “Why the hell can’t you just go to Olive Garden?”

“Why do you want to go to that fancy shit?” God, he was pissing me off.

“Jesus Christ, woman. Why does it matter? Are you against spaghetti?” He thrust into my mouth, and I took it until I knew he was about to come, and then I stopped.

“Final answer?” I asked, his dick still in my hand, my lips so close to the head.

“Don’t you fucking dare…”

I pushed to my feet with a smug grin when I grabbed a towel because I knew I was going to win. This wasn’t about a damn restaurant anymore. It was the principle.

The moment I stepped into his room, I dropped the towel and hopped onto his bed, sprawling out, naked.

It was all of thirty seconds before Zepp came in. His gaze landed on me, and he looked like he was ready to blow.

“You really wanna do this?” he said. His towel hit the floor, and he crawled onto the bed, pinning me to the mattress. “You know who will win this, Roe.” He nipped at my neck, then slammed into me so hard my breath caught.

I loved him angry. I pulled at his hair before I brought my lips to his ear. “This feels a lot like winning,” I said on a ragged breath.

“Does it?” He went deeper. Harder. Bringing me right to the edge, right to the moment where my entire body started to heat with that warm buzz, and then he pulled out and flipped onto his back. “Good to know.”

“No. No!” I slapped his chest before straddling his body. When I tried to move, he gripped my hips and pinned me in place.

“Still feel like you’re winning, Roe?”

I grabbed his throat, digging my nails into his skin. “Fuck you, Zepp.” I tried to move again, but his hands were like shackles, imprisoning me. I leaned forward until my lips brushed his. “You know I can get myself off.” And then I said the one thing that I knew pissed him off every time. “I don’t need you.”

That did it. He guided me over him, far rougher than I would have ever been able to manage on my own while he thrust up from below, burying himself as far as he could go.

My back hit the mattress, and he drove into me while his warm, hard body slipped over mine. “I don’t for one second believe you come as hard on your own,” he said.

I didn’t. I couldn’t. It was more than just a rough touch, though, it was him. It was us.

I fell apart beneath him, my nails clawing at his skin, my lungs straining for breath while his powerful body turned to stone beneath my hands. Then he collapsed onto the bed.

After he caught his breath, he rolled over and checked the clock, groaning before he fell back on his pillow. “Don’t bitch at me about how I’m about to do this. It’s your fault.” He pushed up from the bed and took something from his drawer. “You know our three months is up today?”

“It is?”

Still naked, he dropped down to one knee and held out an opened box. In the middle of the blue velvet sat an emerald ring with diamonds on each side. My pulse raced. My heart spluttered in my chest.

“All I wanted to do was take you to Olive Garden.” On a sigh, he shook his head. “I never thought three months would turn into the rest of my life, but…”

“Oh my God, Zepp.” I stared at the box, completely shocked.

“You gonna marry me, Roe?”

“Yes, Zepp. I’ll marry you.” I kissed him, knowing there would never be anyone else for me but him. No one could come close. Our happily ever after wasn’t shiny or pretty, but it was ours.

He was no prince, but Zepp Hunt was mine. Always.
