“Yes.” He grinned.

“I didn’t offer yet.”

“Well, yeah, if ya do. Damn, local sex with a gorgeous man? Where do I sign up?”

The tingle was back, spreading out further, zinging its way beneath my skin. He was charming without trying to be. I wasn’t sure I’d ever met someone as real as Sam.

He leaned over the table, biting into his sandwich.

“I watched the videos,” I admitted.

Sam froze, food in his hands, near his mouth. He lowered his arms, set it down, chewed, then swallowed. “You saw them, or you watched them?”

“Watched. More than once. I stroked my cock over and over and over again, the whole time knowing it was you.” I couldn’t be completely honest with him, not about Daniel or anything that had happened, but I would be about this. I would be in all the ways I could.

Sam’s head tilted down some, his hat keeping his hair from falling in his face. He bit his lip, took a deep breath, then met my gaze. “You liked ’em?”

“Yes. Come on. You’ve seen how I look at you. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t obvious I’m attracted to you as well.”

His forehead wrinkled, brows pulling together. “How did you find ’em and know it’s me? That’s…a really big damn coincidence.”

“It is.” I’d thought the same thing. “I couldn’t sleep. I don’t like studio porn. You ran a special and advertised, and I watched. Your ring and the bruised thumb gave you away.”

His eyes widened as if he’d just really understood what I was saying. “I said your name. First comin’ to your door all those times, then the video and the chips. You must really think I’m a stalker—that, or a damned fool.”

Or just that he was lonely and needed something he couldn’t find, and I understood that.

“I don’t think either of those things. I also don’t think it’s a good idea to film with random men.”

That earned me a frown. “Guess it’s a good thing it’s not your say, then.”

“It’s dangerous and not you.”

He pushed his food away. “You don’t know me. How many times have I had to say that? And who are you to judge me for what I do? I like sex. I want sex. I need money. There ain’t nothin’ wrong with putting those three needs and desires together.”

Sam shoved to his feet and closed the box of his mostly finished dinner. I’d pissed him off. I should just let him go, forget this night ever happened, but I was a selfish son-of-a-bitch, and I wanted him. “I’m not judging you for sex work.”

“Not all of us are you. All it takes is one look at you to know you have money. I don’t have shit, and I won’t ever have shit unless I find a way to get it myself. And money aside, did you ever think that I just crave somethin’ different? Somethin’ that’s mine? To pretend my whole fuckin’ life ain’t what it is? You’ll never understand that, and maybe you’re too lucky to know what I’m talkin’ about, but did you ever think I just want to feel like I’m someone else and that’s the only way I can think of to do it?” His accent came out more when he was angry.

Sam headed for the door.

I rubbed a hand over my face. This wasn’t going as planned. Drop it. Let him go. “Be someone else with me.”

He stopped at the door, his back still to me. “Huh?”

“I’m offering you exactly what you’re looking for, but with me and a whole lot closer than having to drive to Charlotte. Sex and money, but no cameras.” Jesus, that sounded dirty. I was such a fucking asshole to do this, to use him this way, but at least he would be safe. And he would get the money he needed and the physical release we both craved.

Sam turned back to me, took slow, tentative steps until he reached the table again. “What exactly are you sayin’?”

“You want to fuck me, and I want to fuck you. If our needs align, I’m saying I’ll pay you to have sex with me, and I promise you, Sam, it’ll be better than with any of the men you’d find on that site.”

CHAPTER SIX

Sam

This had to be a damn dream. I was standing there, looking at the most beautiful man I’d ever seen, and he was offering me sex and money. I should feel insulted, should feel used or dirty, but I didn’t. Hunger set fire in my belly. Desire dug its roots even deeper into me, spreading seeds of excitement. I wasn’t sure what that said about me, that I was not only turned on by his offer, but that it made me feel strangely powerful. Like for once, I was in control of my life in the most real and honest way I could be.
