I lick my lips. Maybe I shouldn’t think of stuff like that while at a wedding. Then again, isn’t that what weddings are all about? I wouldn’t be the first girl to have a little fun at one. Heck, I might not even be the first one at this one. I’d never notice if someone snuck off.
A new song comes on that’s a little calmer and intended more for the couples, so it kind of catches me off guard when Lash steps off his barstool, offers his hand and asks, “Wanna dance?”
I blink at him. “What?”
“Wasn’t a hard question.” He smirks, and I’m pretty sure just the sight of it has a poor woman fainting on the other end of the bar.
“You can dance?”
“I can now. If I’m gonna go to a wedding, I’m not gonna half-ass it.”
I’m still shocked. “So you learned to dance, so you could dance with me?”
“You gonna come out on the floor with me, or just stand here and make a scene? I can find someone else.”
“Oh no, I’m coming.” Emptying my wineglass as I push to my feet, I take the hand he offers and let him drag me right into the middle. He pulls me in close and leads me in a sway that quickly becomes more deliberate, guiding me around the floor.
I rest my head on his chest, and listen to the quick, steady thump of his heart. Maybe he’s a little more nervous than he made it out to be? This is well outside of his usual wheelhouse. “This is really nice.”
“Yeah? Good. You look hot as fuck in that dress.” He spins me and catches me expertly, with just a hint of a dip. It’s not really the kind of song that calls for a deep one.
When I’m back up, I glance around, loving how every woman in the place looks like she’d rather be where I am. And knowing that I’m the only one that is. “You’re such a charmer.”
“Is that sarcasm? ‘Cause if you’re being bratty, I’m gonna take you over my knee when we get back to the hotel.” His sexy threat comes out in a low growl that makes me miss a step.
“I’m sorry, I thought you liked girls with a little spunk.” I time my step so I tap a little kiss on his lips before we keep moving.
He chuckles deep in his chest. “You must’ve misheard. What I said was, I like girls full of spunk. Preferably mine.” I laugh loud enough that I have to wave off a couple who look a little concerned.
I give him a little elbow in the rib. “Easy, we can’t go making a mess of your brother’s wedding. It wouldn’t be nice.”
He laughs. “This whole thing is weird. I love that it’s making Eric happy, but it feels fake. Everyone’s putting on an act. Back at the club, we just do what we want.”
“You have no idea how unusual that really is. But I get it. At weddings you have to be a little more subtle. Find a place where no one sees you.” I glance up at the balconies where no one seems to be, and Lash doesn’t miss it.
“If this was the club, I could just pick you up and carry you off to fuck you silly. And drag Stiff and Jackal along to have us a private party.” Just the suggestion brings back some really sexy memories. And it makes me want to do something wild. Something that he’ll remember.
“You want a blowjob?”
It’s his turn to blink. “Here?”
“No silly, but somewhere? Up there maybe? Sneak off, and you can tell your buddies that you got blown at your brother’s wedding.” I giggle at the audacity of it. Did I have too much wine, or am I just getting too used to living somewhere where normal rules don’t matter? Or maybe I’m just struck by an incredibly sexy man in an incredibly sexy suit. Besides, I like that I can throw him off every once in a while.
He starts dancing me off the floor. “I like that suggestion.”
It doesn’t take us long to slip back into the crowd. The biggest hurdle is really how handsome my date is, because women follow him with their eyes no matter where we go. But in the end, we just say screw it. If they want to come look, they’ll have to follow us upstairs.
The way up is in one of the hallways around the ballroom. A couple of the service staff laugh when we rush by them and up the staircase, and I’m sure they know exactly what we’re up to, but we’re on a mission.
Since there’s no serving up here and no easy way up, we’re actually completely alone. At least that I can see. I’m not going to rule out another adventurous couple hiding on the other side, but I don’t care. We get a pillar between us and the stairs and then I give him a playful shove on his chest to back him into the pillar. I know full well that if he didn’t want to, I couldn’t have moved him an inch, but he plays along.
