Tucker Kane has broken down my walls by chipping away at the ice around my heart.

“That was some kiss,” he whispers against my lips when the train slows to a stop. I can feel his lips curl up into one of his usual smirks. “I guess that’s a yes.”

I smile so hard my face hurts. “Hell, yes.”

Chapter 21

Tucker

They say a smile is worth a thousand words. Sam’s is worth every penny I spent to make her dream a reality. We walk through a Harry Potter town called Hogsmeade, where Sam is practically glowing. She raises her cell phone, snapping pictures and giggling excitedly. I’ve never seen her like this, and I love it.

“Can we go inside?” Sam points at Hogwarts. “There’s a tour through the castle and a ride at the end.”

“It’s your special day.” I slide my fingers between hers and lead her toward the castle. “We can do whatever you want.”

She smiles up at me with a dreamy look in her eyes. My expression mirrors hers, and when she looks at me this way, I can’t stop smiling until my cheeks hurt. I’ve never felt this way about a girl before.

How did I not see this girl freshman year? All I could see at the time was a good blowjob and hot sex. I was an asshole to her. I took her virginity and walked away like she meant nothing to me. Because she did. And now, she means everything.

After we ride each amusement three times, we stop for a quick bite at a tavern in the park. We eat and drink and explore everything Universal Studios has to offer, and by the time the sun goes down, Sam is yawning, leaning into me for support.

“What a long day,” she says.

I hook my arm around her back and pull her closer, leading her out of the park. “You can sleep on the plane.”

She peeks up at me and yawns again. “I think I might.”

And Sam does just that. On the flight home, I glance out the window as Florida passes us. My gaze roams between Sam peacefully sleeping and the city below us. I could stare at her all day and never get bored.

Now she’s mine.

When we land, I lift Sam in my arms, and she stirs for a moment while breathing softly against my chest. Sam doesn’t open her eyes until we’re two blocks away from Strickland University. She rubs the sleep from them and sits up straight, looking confused.

“Where are we?”

“Almost at Strick U.”

She stretches her arms above her head and yawns. “I slept through the entire flight?”

I nod. “You look too cute when you sleep to bother you.”

Sam laughs. “I doubt that. Eden tells me I snore sometimes.”

“More like a purr,” I say. “But it’s cute.”

Why do I keep saying cute? Oh my God, what’s wrong with me? I never say shit like this. It’s true, though. Sam isn’t the popular girl I would typically go for. She’s the girl-next-door type, the girl you always see but never really see until you get to know her. And I’m glad I did.

We pull up out front of my house on campus, and the driver opens the door for us.

Sam looks out the window, biting her bottom lip. “Is this your house?”

“Yeah. But I can take you home.”

“No,” she says. “I want to see where you live. You said you know nothing about me, but I also know very little about you.”

“We can watch a movie in my room.” I extend my hand to her. “Trent won’t be home until tomorrow. So, we’ll have some privacy.” I can see her gulp and feel the need to add, “We can just watch the movie. I don’t have any expectations, okay?”

She presses her lips together and nods.

Most of my friends, except for Drake, are out with their girlfriends or at a party. He’s on the couch with Taylor on top of him, their lips locked and tugging at each other’s clothes. Drake and Taylor’s heads snap up as the door slams behind Sam.

“Oh, hey,” Taylor says, straightening her shirt back over her tits, using Drake’s enormous body to hide behind. “We were just…”

About to fuck?

Drake winks at me, and I smirk. One minute, Taylor acts like she likes him, and the next, he’s running after her. She wants to be friends, and then she wants to be his girl. I don’t understand their relationship. That shit would drive me crazy if Sam ever did that to me.

“We’ll be upstairs,” I say to Drake.

I lead Sam up the stairs, and she stands in the doorway, staring into my room like it’s infested.

“It’s okay,” I say. “I won’t bite.”

She pushes her hands to her hips and smiles. “What if I want you to bite me?”

I close the distance, hooking an arm around her as I kiss her neck. She tilts her head to the side and sucks in a deep breath. Taking this as a sign to keep going, I graze my teeth along her skin. Sam moans softly and tugs at my shirt with her fingers.
