When they first took over from the previous owners who were looking to sell because they had run it into the ground, the locals had attempted to stop it. There was no one able to afford the debt the bar came with. The club was able to settle the debt, take over the bar, turn it into something profitable, and every single day, apart from main holidays, it was open for business.

Doc, being a father, didn’t like to open the main bar or the strip club, as he felt it would be an excuse for families to suffer on holidays. Even though the club had tried to vote against it, Doc wouldn’t budge. He made the final decision.

There was a lot of shit in Doc’s past, which none of them knew about. He wasn’t going to argue for the bars to be open, seeing as one of them was going to have to work there if they were.

There was a small table left, and he held onto Eden’s hand and pulled out a chair for her to sit on.

“Well, thank you,” she said.

He leaned down and kissed her cheek. “You’re welcome.”

Her cheeks were a delightful shade of red. He was happy that he could make her blush. She picked up her menu and started to glance through it.

“You’re not going to see what you want?” she asked.

“I already know my order.”

“You come here a lot?”

“Most mornings.”

She put down her menu. “So, what do you think is good here?”

“Besides the woman sitting opposite me, I’d say the breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs, secret sauce, which I think is personally warm maple syrup with a hint of vanilla. The waffles, pancakes, and if that doesn’t appeal, the breakfast burger.”

“Wow,” Eden said.

He winked at her and she went a deeper shade of red. “You’re not used to taking compliments, are you?”

She shrugged and seemed to squirm.

There was no time to delve into that, as a new waitress came over. She looked young, and he hadn’t seen her before. Charlotte usually worked at the diner on Saturday, much to her father’s irritation, but this was not Charlotte.

Razor ordered every item on the breakfast menu. The woman didn’t even raise her eyebrows, just wrote it down and asked if they wanted coffee, to which he replied yes. Eden was not a tea drinker. She liked her coffee.

“You ordered everything,” Eden said.

“And I did that so you would have the opportunity to try everything. Besides, between last night and this morning, I worked up an appetite.”

There was that blush he adored so much. It was so easy to make her squirm. He reached across the table, stroking the tips of her fingers. “Are you thinking about me?” he asked. “Inside you?”

“Razor, people might hear,” she said, trying not to look around the diner.

“I don’t give a fuck if they hear. They shouldn’t be listening to other people’s business. I don’t want them up in my shit.” He also knew he was being quiet. There was no way he would do that to her. “Trust me, Eden, I will take care of you.”

The waitress came and filled up their coffees. She was not a happy waitress, but he wasn’t about to let that upset him. He had Eden. After last night, he was not going to give her a chance to withdraw from him.

“So, what do you think about going out tonight?” he asked.

“Tonight?”

“Yeah, I can take you to a bar, or we can go out dancing.”

“I don’t really know how to dance.”

“Then that’s settled.”

Eden frowned. “How are we going to go dancing?”

“Didn’t you know in the town hall on the third Saturday of every month, there are a group of people that meet there to dance?” he asked.

“Just to dance?”

“There’s beer and food. People who just want to dance, but not do the whole hooking-up scene.”

“I had no idea. I have never heard of it.”

“Then it’s settled. Tonight, I am going to take you dancing, and I will not take no for an answer.”

Minutes later, their food arrived, and Eden sat back as she looked at the food.

“Wow,” she said.

“You can have or try anything you want.” He winked at her. “I recommend the sausage.”

He reached out, cut a slice, and offered it to her. When she tried to take the fork from him, he shook his head. “Come on, this is all about a little trust.”

She rolled her eyes but took a bite of the sausage. She covered her mouth as she chewed and it was so adorable.

“Do you like it?” he asked.

“It’s good.”

“I know.”

He started to cut up little bites and offer them to her, loving as she took them. It was good food.

He wanted to take care of Eden, and he was not going to stop.

Chapter Eleven

Maeve had known about the town hall, because apparently when their parents were still alive, that was where they went for date night. Her sister hadn’t gone.
