“You going to say anything?”
Once more, I cleared my throat. “I think we need to set up an appointment. Your father gave me explicit instructions for your takeover of the company. Not that I understand any of them as I’m not a corporate attorney, but Reid will. We need to nail down—”
He touched my cheek ever so gently. Sparks shot through me.
“The only thing I want to nail down, Lacey, is you. I want to fucking nail you again and again.”
I gulped.
“We just had sex,” he said. “Really good—albeit too damned short—sex. Are you going to acknowledge that at all?”
“I have a job to do,” I said. “The fact that we just had sex—”
“Not sex. Really good sex.”
I closed my eyes and exhaled. “All right. Really good sex. Satisfied?”
“For now,” he said with a lopsided grin. “But I want more of you, Lacey Ward. In a real bed. All clothes off. Hours and hours of dirty, nasty sex.”
“I don’t…do that.”
“Oh, yes, you do. No one as responsive as you are doesn’t have dirty, nasty sex.”
Responsive? I was always responsive. At least I thought I was. Rock Wolfe had brought out a new level of responsiveness in me, though. I was still dripping wet for him. My nipples were still hard. One orgasm—my best one ever, at that—hadn’t satisfied me. Had only left me wanting more.
“Mr.— I mean…Rock. We have a lot of work to do. You have a lot of work to do. Your father—”
“Fuck that bastard.”
“Clearly, you and he weren’t close, but—”
“No, we weren’t close. That’s putting it nicely.”
“Still, the family is depending on you to do what’s right here. You have to take control of the company. Reid can help you. I’ll help you.”
“What if I don’t want your help or Reid’s help? What if I want to go back to Montana and live my own damned life?” He grinned again. “In fact, you can come with me. I’m not even close to done with you yet.”
What a life that could be. A life with Rock Wolfe in a secluded cabin in gorgeous Montana, riding on the back of his Harley…
Until he was done with me. Until he found someone new who struck his fancy.
Rock Wolfe would never be satisfied with just one woman. And I’d never be satisfied with a man for whom I wasn’t enough.
I opened my mouth to speak, but a knock on my door interrupted me. I fidgeted with my skirt. My hair was in a ponytail, and I hoped it looked okay. I cleared my throat. “Yes?”
Charlie opened the door. “Sorry to interrupt, Lacey, but the Wolfe siblings are still here, and they want to talk to their brother.”

Rock
Lacey’s assistant was a hot little number—a curvy little brunette with dimples and gray-blue eyes. I’d be all over her in a minute normally. Right now, though, I didn’t feel so much as a spark. All I could think about was Lacey in her tight-ass suit and that delectable pussy underneath.
Her lips were red and swollen from our kisses, and I couldn’t wait to have them around my cock.
Oh, yeah. That was going to happen. Later today, if I had my way.
“Fine,” Lacey said. “We’re done here. Rock, you need to see to your family.”
Yeah, I suppose I had to deal with this. Fucking dick screwing me from the grave. I should have known.
“I know you’re not happy with this situation,” Lacey continued, acting like we hadn’t just had a hot little fuck in her office. “But you do need to talk to them. You can use the conference room for as long as you like.”
“Not unless you have a full bar in there,” I said.
“It’s three p.m.,” she said.
“It’s five o’clock somewhere. Where’s the nearest place I can get a stiff bourbon?”
“There’s a bar in the lobby of this building,” she said.
“Great. Come on.”
She shook her head. “This is between you and your brothers and sister. I have work to do.”
“Yeah, you do. With us. I’m not going through with this unless you come along. Don’t worry. You’ll get your full hourly rate.”
“I wasn’t worried about that,” she said. “But I have an appointment on another case—”
“You come along, or this isn’t happening.”
She sighed. “Fine. Charlie, could you call Jimmy Trask and reschedule our four o’clock? I have some time tomorrow morning, I think.”
Charlie nodded and left.
“Let’s go, then,” she said, not looking me in the eye.
“None of us is happy about this, Rock.” Reid downed his bourbon. “Believe me.”
“Isn’t there some way we can contest this?” Riley asked Lacey.
She shook her head. “Like I said before, the will is ironclad. Your father made sure of that. I tried to talk him out of this, but he was determined.”
“Determined to ruin my life,” I said.
“Clearly he was determined to ruin all of our lives,” Reid said. “This isn’t what any of us expected. We all thought I’d be in charge.”
