He grunted and lifted his middle finger in my direction. “Fuck you, Chet.”

I snickered. Rurik appeared behind Malik like smoke and curled his fingers around Malik’s chain, tugging his head back. Malik grunted, but his eyes went all hazy. Rurik was the only person I’d ever seen Malik willingly submit to.

“Watch it,” Rurik warned him. “Maybe next time, you won’t be a fucking asshole and test my patience.” He pressed a hard kiss to Malik’s lips, then let him go, wandering into the kitchen without another word.

Malik sighed and adjusted the chain around his neck that acted as a collar. “That bad?” I asked quietly.

“He pissed me off by putting a guard detail on me. I can’t go work on my bike early in the mornings anymore without three fucking guards hovering over me.” Malik shook his head. “I got frustrated, told him to pull the guard detail or I’d walk, and Rurik lost his shit.” He pinched the bridge of his nose. “Stupid son of a bitch should know I’d never leave him.”

“I’m sorry,” I murmured, my chest flooding with guilt. “It’s my fault—”

Malik shook his head and looked over at me, dropping his hand to the bar top. “It’s not your fault, Chet. It’s no one’s fault that all this is happening but the SDMC. The president has a massive stick up his ass, and no one in his club has the balls to pull it out. Besides, this isn’t the first time Rurik has put guards on me. He gets wild hairs up his ass all the fucking time.”

Rurik stepped out of the kitchen and held out a mug of coffee to Malik. Malik took it. Rurik leaned in and gripped his chin. “Everything I do is for your safety. Threaten to leave me again, and I swear to fuck, Malik, I will take you to a remote island and lock us there for eternity.”

William was walking out of the kitchen with two mugs of coffee when Rurik said that, and he paused, blinking at the two of them before shaking his head and making his way around the bar to sit next to me. “Eat,” he murmured, setting my coffee mug in front of me. “And don’t touch that coffee until you’re done eating,” he ordered when I reached for it. “You won’t finish your breakfast otherwise.”

I huffed. “You would make a better Daddy Dom,” I grumbled, abandoning my coffee as told and focusing back on my food.

William leaned in, sucking my earlobe between his teeth and biting down hard enough to have me hissing, all while my cock hardened behind my zipper. “I can be, if that’s what you want.”

I snorted and pushed him away when he released my ear. “Not to yuck anyone else’s yum, but that’s definitely not my thing,” I told him.

Thyrie slipped onto the barstool between me and Malik. When she reached over to grab one of my sausage links, William smacked her hand away with a scowl. She gasped in mock outrage, but amusement was glimmering in her eyes. “What? I’m hungry.”

“So tell your old man to get you some fucking food and stop stealing everyone else’s,” I told her, rolling my eyes.

“He’s eyeballs deep in club shit right now,” she said. “I’m not bothering him. I’ll just grab something on my way into the office.” Thyrie ran a security firm with her best friend, Silas, who had served in the military with Thyrie—and who I was almost sure Malachi had a thing for. But that was how she and Hyram had met. Not too long ago, Digg’s old lady, Frankie, who was also Hyram’s little sister, was being targeted by some creep at their daughter’s preschool, so Hyram put a protection detail on her and Teeny, Frankie’s little girl, and that protection detail happened to be Thyrie.

And she and Hyram just couldn’t help but hook up and fall in love. Honestly though, it was unsurprising considering when it came to sex, Thyrie was no better than a man. In fact, she might be worse.

“Church,” Hyram suddenly called. “Now. Chet, bring your food with you.”

I sighed and pushed off the barstool. William grabbed my plate and coffee, wordlessly heading for the chapel. I followed after him, only a little surprised to see Nolan and Malachi already sitting at the table, coffee mugs in front of both of them.

“Shit,” I whispered. If those two were the first ones seated, that meant something happened.

“Shit is right,” Nolan drawled. He nodded his head in the direction of my chair. “Take a seat.”

William

Ileaned back in my seat, my arms crossed over my chest as I waited on Hyram and Nolan to announce why we were all suddenly being summoned into church and why the atmosphere was so fucking tense. Once the doors were shut behind Rurik and he’d taken a seat—the last person to filter into the room—Hyram looked at me.
