I nodded, looking away from Lacie. I wouldn't let Trevor know she was getting under my skin. I didn't want to be the cause of another confrontation between the two. Trevor already hated her enough as it was.

"Hey, Tracey?" Olivia asked, getting my attention.

I looked over at her, lifting my head from Trevor's shoulder much to his dismay. He liked having me as close to him as possible.

"Yeah?"

"When we get there, how about we split from all of these losers and go to Rue 21? You'll love it."

I smiled at her. I really liked Olivia. We had been texting a lot lately, and she had quickly become a great friend to me. I could tell her almost anything—except for my scars.

Trevor was still the only person that knew about those, and that’s how I wanted it to stay.

I was about to nod at her when Trevor grunted. "Not happening. She's not leaving my side." He tugged me gently, so I placed my head back on his shoulder.

"Oh, shut up, you macho-man.” I softly laughed. “I can take care of her just as well as you can. Besides, it'll give you time to hang out with Paul and Kaleb. You know Lacie and Krista are going to shop for clothes for James's party next weekend."

Trevor sighed. "Fine, but if anything happens to her, I swear—" Olivia cut him off.

"Nothing is going to happen."

I blushed at how overprotective Trevor was over me. He was so scared to let me go out and do things by myself or with someone other than him. And I understood his fear, and honestly, it was nice to have someone that cared so much.

"I'll be fine," I whispered in his ear.

He leaned down, planting a swift, quick kiss against my lips. Olivia awed at us, causing me to blush even more. "You two are so fucking adorable."

Trevor rolled his eyes as Kaleb swung the car into a parking spot. We all jumped out of the car, so badly just wanting out of the stuffy, closed-in space. I knew I was desperate to finally be out of that cramped car. It was getting to be a bit too much for me.

Olivia held her hand out to me, and after a moment of hesitation, I wrapped my hand around hers. She grinned at me. "Come on."

Trevor kissed me again before Olivia dragged me away from everyone. We entered the busy mall, and she breathed a sigh of relief. "I don't know how much longer I could stand being next to Paul."

"Why?"

"Well, he's really cute." A blush stained her cheeks. "And I like him a lot. But I don't know if he feels the same way."

I rolled my eyes. She had to be dumb to think that any boy wouldn't like her.

I tugged my hand from hers when I saw the sign for the restroom. "I'm going to the bathroom," I suddenly had the urge to go, probably because of that entire bottle of water I drank before leaving home. "Wait for me here?"

She nodded, and I went down the hall that led to the bathrooms. I stepped inside and did my business. When I got out and began washing my hands, I heard the door close and a lock click. My breathing stopped, and cold sweat broke out over my skin.

That wasn't a lock to a stall.

That was the lock to the main entrance of the bathroom.

I looked up into the mirror, and my heart dropped into my stomach. I was pretty sure I was going to throw up. All of the blood rushed out of my face.

My eyes met the harsh, dilated, drugged-up brown eyes of my father's best friend.

I dashed toward the door and screamed when his slimy hands wrapped around my waist and yanked me back against him. His dirty hand covered my mouth as tears gushed down my face.

I was in a world of shit.

Chapter Eleven

Forcing myself past the panic gripping my muscles, I slammed my elbow into his ribs. He grunted, releasing me for a moment.

I had to get out of there.

I scrambled for the door as fast as my legs would carry me, but I was too slow. His grimy hands latched onto my ankles, making me slam into the floor. My chin bounced off of the ground, and I harshly bit onto the inside of my mouth and my lip. Blood immediately trickled down my chin.

"Let me go!" I kicked desperately to get him off of me, not even giving a shit about the pain currently flaring through my jaw.

Panic was clawing at my chest. Tears swarmed my vision, and I rapidly blinked them away.

"You're such a stupid girl! You knew never to open your mouth!" He straddled my waist, sending a crushing blow against my ribs.

I cried out in pain, pushing against his chest. I wanted him off of me. He was so heavy. It didn't help that he was extremely overweight either.
