He didn’t say another word.
He simply slid his fingers around mine and led me down the stairs. The casino was busier than it was when we first arrived. People were moving between tables and slot machines, and the staff was doing what they could to keep up. A couple of men tried to catch Sergei’s attention. One of them called out his name while another started to follow after us. But Sergei ignored them.
He didn’t glance in their direction.
He didn’t slow down or loosen his grip.
He never broke his stride.
The man had one thought. One goal.
Me.

SERGEI
“You know, that look you get is pretty intense.”
“The look?”
“Yeah, the one you get when you want something.” The elevator doors slid shut behind us. “But it’s not as intense as the one you get when you’re about to take the thing that you want.”
“I don’t have a look.”
“Oh, but you do.” A light blush crept across her cheeks as she admitted, “Don’t get me wrong. I like it… I like it a lot.”
“You’ve got one, too.” Her chin tipped up, like she was pretending she didn’t know what I was talking about. “You’ve got it right now. If I didn’t know better, I’d say you liked the idea of me having you on my desk.”
“Maybe.”
She shifted closer. It wasn’t much. Just enough for me to catch a hint of her perfume. I stood there, waiting for the elevator to reach the top floor, and I couldn’t take my eyes off her. She was positively stunning, especially with that sexy smirk on her face. “You’re staring.”
“Can’t help it. When I want something, I can’t think of anything else.”
“And what is it that you want?”
“You,” I answered without hesitation. “In my hand. Under my mouth. Exactly where I left off.”
Her breath hitched. It was quiet, but I heard it just the same. Felt it, too. The elevator dinged, and the door slid open. I immediately reached for her hand and led her down the hall. When we reached the door, I took out my key and unlocked it. Bog was at his post, watching and waiting. “That’ll be all for tonight.”
His gaze flicked to Lina, then back to me. He gave me a quick nod, then gathered his things and dipped out, closing the door behind him. Lina took one step inside and stopped. That playful spark in her eyes from just seconds before changed into something more.
We held each other’s gaze while neither of us turned away. It was as if we were in a silent argument, battling over our next move.
And then it happened.
Her eyes drifted down to my lips, and I could feel my heart beating against my chest as she waited for me to stake my claim. Damn.
I moved in, slow but deliberate, and I couldn’t help but notice the way her pupils widened and the way her breath caught when I reached her. I gently nudged her back, pinning her against my bedroom door.
I lifted my hand to her face, cupping her cheek, which was now a bright shade of pink, and leaned into her, hovering my mouth over hers.
Our breaths mingled for a brief moment, and then she slowly inched closer, lifting her head as she granted me access to her mouth.
As soon as our lips touched, that was it.
The world faded around us, and it was just her and me.
Nothing else mattered.
She inhaled a quick breath, and I used the opportunity to delve deeper into her mouth. Our tongues tangled, and all her little moans and whimpers spurred me on. It was too much, too fast. I couldn’t trust myself not to get carried away, so I took a step back and broke free from our heated embrace.
She looked up at me with disappointment etched in her eyes, making me want to kiss her all over again, but if I did, I knew I wouldn’t have the strength to stop. Her voice was filled with angst as she asked, “Is something wrong?”
“You’re driving me crazy.”
“Hmm.” She cocked her head to the side as she asked, “Crazy good or crazy bad?”
“Good. Too good.” I leaned down and kissed her on the forehead. “I need to get you fed.”
“No, you don’t. I’m fine.”
“You need dinner.”
“Dinner can wait.”
She eased up on her tiptoes and pressed her lips to mine, silencing me with a kiss. More possessive, more demanding this time. Her arms wound around my neck, anchoring me to her, and that’s all it took.
Having her so close made me lose the last of my control. I pulled her closer as I delved deeper into her mouth, and the way she melted against me ignited something primal in me. I couldn’t hold back a second longer.
I backed her against the wall, and the second she looked up at me, I knew there was no going back. I towered over her, breathing hard, and taking in the sight of her. And my God, what a sight.
