She was forty, widowed, and done with love…until a younger Alpha made her burn.

I came to claim my inheritance…and found her instead.

For twenty years, Vivienne Jamison endured a loveless marriage to a cruel and heartless Alpha. I've seen the scars he left behind—the way she flinches instinctively, doubts her own beauty, and blames herself for things that were never her fault.

The Pack sees a barren widow whose best years are behind her—I see a strong, beautiful woman who deserves to be cherished.

From the moment I met her, I felt drawn to her in a way I've never experienced before. Every instinct inside me wants to protect her, care for her, and give her the happiness she's been denied for far too long.
Too bad Pack Law says she's forbidden to me.

My heart was in the grave…until he came.

After twenty years of being blamed for something that was never my fault, I thought my life was over. Then Corwyn arrived.

This new Alpha is everything my late husband wasn't—kind, protective, and impossible to resist. However, the BlackRidge Pack is governed by ancient laws and cruel traditions—they expect me to remain single and alone, honoring the memory of a man I never loved.

When I come into my first real Heat at 40, staying away from Cor becomes harder than either of us imagined. It doesn’t matter that he’s ten years younger than me—I want him and he wants me.

The Pack says we're forbidden. Our hearts disagree. But if we’re caught, we’ll pay the price.
For breaking the Unbreakable Laws carries only one punishment— death .

The Widow's Forbidden Heat is a steamy Omegaverse romance featuring a curvy older heroine, a devoted younger Alpha, fated mates, forbidden love, small-town secrets, protective hero vibes, emotional healing, and a guaranteed happily ever after

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

ONE

VIVIENNE

The man in the casket was my husband, but I felt nothing when I looked at him.

Carter Jamison had been a cold man, and I mean that literally. Every time he touched me his hands were like ice. Just thinking about it made me shiver.

But he was cold in other ways too—cold and aloof, never interested in anything I had to say. I had been sold to him when I was barely twenty—a virgin who had been sequestered for years to keep me that way—and he’d never shown me a single spark of warmth or affection.

I was so innocent on our wedding night, I had no idea what was coming. I was only told I must hold still and submit to my husband and do whatever he told me.

That might not have been a problem if my husband had been a kind man—one who cared about his wife’s pain or the terror I felt when I first saw the crooked shaft of his manhood with its ugly, bloated knot coming towards me.

Closing my eyes, I remembered the sharp feeling inside me—like someone stabbing with a knife—and the way my eyes had filled with tears. My eyes with the Royal Golden Rim—the thin ring of gold around each iris that proclaimed I had some Royal Were blood in me. They had marked me as special—as a woman who would bear the man who was lucky enough to mate with her many strong sons.

It was a promise I never fulfilled for Carter, despite the prophecy.

Not that he didn’t try to get me pregnant. Every month during my Heat Cycle—which was never very strong—he tried. After a time, I stopped dreading the encounters and got used to the grunting and thrusting on top of me. For all its ugliness, his shaft wasn’t very big. After those first few times, it didn’t hurt anymore. And a year or so after that, I barely noticed it in me. I was able to close my eyes and imagine myself someplace much more pleasant—the beach maybe, or the mountains.

I have always wanted to travel, but Carter preferred to stay put. He ruled the Blackridge Pack with an iron fist, and he didn’t like leaving his territory in case someone might get out of line. The few times he went to multi-Pack meetings in other states, he refused to take me.

“You’ll only get into trouble,” he’d grunt, when I begged to go with him so I could see someplace new. He called me ungrateful for pleading to go away. After all, hadn’t he given me a mansion to live in?

Wolverton Manor was a grand home, I had to admit. It has turrets and towers and battlements—just like a castle. It’s not a “McMansion” as Carter scornfully called the other grand houses in our small town. Parts of it were brought over from England—they used to be the walls of a monastery before Carter bought them and brought them here.

But the Manor was built long before I was born—back when he was still in his “exploring phase” as he put it, the few times he talked about his adventures in Europe and the Far East. By the time we wed, he was nearly sixty and had had his fill of traveling.

“I just want to stay home by my own fire,” he would growl, when I mentioned how nice it might be to go for a vacation somewhere. “Stop your prattling, girl! I don’t have time for your nonsense!”

Carter had never had time for my “nonsense” or any other part of me, except what was between my legs. As time went on, though, and he failed to get me pregnant, he grew bitter and angry.

He would complain about it often though and curse me for not giving him an heir. He said the soothsayer who had made the prophecy about the “girl with gold-ringed eyes who would bear many strong heirs to a male of the Jamison line” was nothing but a liar and a thief who had taken his money when he asked for a Truth Saying.

Of course, he sent me to a fertility clinic—though he refused to go himself. They poked and prodded and studied me and though they admitted that my Heat Cycle was extremely mild, there was nothing actually wrong with my womb. So there was nothing to be done but bring me home again and try some more.

They even gave me fertility drugs to take—not that they did any good. I just couldn’t seem to conceive, no matter how I tried. Eventually Carter cursed me and called me “barren.”

I didn’t dare to suggest that he get tested too—even though the forbidden internet searches I did explained that the failure to get pregnant might not be my fault. A man his age might have a low sperm count, after all, but Carter would hear none of that. He was an Alpha—who ever heard of an Alpha with a low sperm count?
A tab00 brother’s wife romance with fated mates, Alpha wolf possessiveness, surprise pregnancy, and the kind of forbidden heat that leaves you begging for more.

Poppy
He promised just to protect me. So why do I crave his touch?
I never thought I’d end up here—pregnant, broke, and abandoned by my no-good husband. Dirk stole every penny from our bank account and vanished, leaving me with nothing but two pink lines on a stick and a belly full of his child. With nowhere else to turn, I knock on the only door left to me—his older brother’s. Logan Hayes is everything Dirk isn’t—strong, dependable, protective…and off-limits. I should keep my distance, but when my Second Heat hits and my body aches for an Alpha’s touch, Logan is the only one who can ease the fire burning inside me.

Logan
She’s carrying my brother’s child…but she belongs to me.
My brother is a worthless bastard. He left his beautiful wife carrying his pup and expecting me to clean up his mess. But the moment I take Poppy into my home, I know I’m the one in danger—because the Wolf inside me claims her as mine. Forbidden or not, she feels like my Fated Mate. She smells like my forever. But the Laws of the Pack are a man can’t take his brother’s wife. It’s the one line I swore I’d never cross.
Only now, Poppy is in Heat…and she’s begging me to claim her.

For fans of Forbidden desire, Surprise pregnancy, Alpha wolf protectiveness, br3ast play and tab00 love too powerful to resist, The Alpha's Sin will leave you panting for more

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

1

POPPY

“Don’t be pregnant…don’t be pregnant…don’t be pregnant,” I chant.

I’m sitting on the lid of the toilet, hunched nervously over the little plastic stick clutched in one hand. The directions said to wait for five minutes and then look, but I can’t put it down.

The first line—the one that tells you the test is working—has already popped up. I’m looking at the second little window, hoping like hell it remains clear. I guess I’m hoping if I stare at it, I can scare that little line away—keep it from appearing.

But I guess I’m not scary enough. Because here it is—sliding into view like bad news coming to surprise me. Only this is no surprise. Dirk flushed my birth control down the toilet weeks ago.

“We’re married now, babe,” he said, when I tried to stop him. “It’s time to start a family.”

“But you said I could go to nursing school first!” I protested. I had already done all my prerequisites and had been accepted to my school of choice—USF—back in Tampa. But Dirk had convinced me to come live in Virginia with him—to be near his family.

“There are plenty of nursing schools up there,” he’d assured me. “But if we’re going to start a life together, I need to be near my big brother. Plus, I have a job up there, waiting for me.”

I don’t have any family of my own. I never knew my dad and my mom died when I was nine. I was raised by my grandparents. Grandpa passed three years ago and I had lost my Grandma just about a month before I met Dirk. So I moved with him.

I know it sounds stupid—and it was—but I thought I was in love. I thought Dirk was too.

From the minute I met him, he showered me with compliments. He talked about how beautiful I was—how he loved “curvy girls”—and how I was the smartest, most amazing woman he’d ever met.

He gave me gifts too—chocolates because he knew I had a sweet tooth, earrings he saw that made him think of me, and flowers “just because you’re so beautiful, babe.”

He texted me all the time, talking about our life together and how happy we were going to be. And because I was vulnerable and still grieving the loss of my Grandma, I fell for it. I sold her house—I know, it was really stupid of me—and put the money in a joint bank account with Dirk.

“Part of it we’ll use for our wedding and part of it we’ll use to buy a place of our own once we get back to Virginia,” he promised me.

I believed him—I thought this man was completely, head-over-heels in love with me. And I was head-over-heels for him too. So we moved to Virginia…only we never bought a house. Dirk got us a crappy little apartment on the bad end of town.

“Just for now,” he promised me when I said that I didn’t feel safe going outside at night. “Just until we get married. Then we’ll start house-hunting.”

Again, I believed him. I told myself it was going to be fine—that the apartment was just for now. I got busy planning our wedding.

But it turned out that Dirk didn’t want “a big production” as he put it. In fact, it almost seemed like he went out of his way to make it cheap. He set the ceremony in an old, rundown Baptist church and booked their dim and dingy meeting hall for our reception.

“But we have plenty of money from selling Grandma’s house,” I protested, when I saw the hall.

Years of neglect had turned the white walls an off-yellow shade and there was grime in the corners and along the baseboards that no amount of scrubbing was going to get out. Seeing it made my stomach drop—and not in a good way.

“Nah, this is fine. This place has a lot of history,” Dirk said dismissively.

“But we can afford a nicer venue!” I argued. “We have enough to get something better than this, at least.”

Tampa, where I had moved from, was a growing real estate market. When it sold, my Grandma’s little bungalow had fetched just over five hundred thousand dollars because it was in an up-and-coming neighborhood that everyone wanted to live in. That was plenty enough to have a nice wedding, as far as I was concerned.

But Dirk wouldn’t listen.

“No—we need to save most of that for a house,” he told me. “If we have a less expensive wedding, we can have a nicer home to raise our family in.”

Again, I reluctantly agreed. I was disappointed, but I did want a nice house and everything is so expensive these days. So I let him have his way once again and we kept the wedding and reception at the old church.

The wedding wasn’t exactly the one I’d dreamed of as a little girl. I got a secondhand dress at a shop Dirk knew of because again, he didn’t want to “waste money that should go to buying our house.”
I lied to protect her… but now I’d burn the world to keep her.
It started as a lie.
I found the letter in my cellmate’s trash—his little sister reaching out, just wanting a connection. I missed my own sister, so I wrote back, pretending to be him. Just one letter. One lie.
But I couldn’t stop.
By the time I got out of prison, I only meant to give her one good memory—proof her "brother" was doing okay. But Sunny wasn’t what I expected. She was sunshine in human form… and the Wolf in me roared that she was mine.
Now I’m trapped between a lie I never meant to tell… and a mate I can’t walk away from.

I shouldn’t want him—but I do. In every filthy, forbidden way...
For years, I wrote letters to the brother I barely remembered—until the day he finally wrote back. He was kind. Thoughtful. Everything I needed.
When he got out, I begged him to stay with me. But now that he’s here, nothing feels right… except the way I feel when I look at him.
Because he’s not really my brother, Kane.
And the truth? It shatters me.
Worse, the real Kane is out of prison now—and he’s not just a liar. He’s a killer. And he’s coming for me.
I just hope I survive the fallout… of being Betrayed.

AUTHOR'S NOTE
Things to know about this Standalone Plot, Forbidden Love, Dark Shifter, Fake Brother Romance
1. She thinks he's her brother
2. He's really not
3. Things get spicy anyway

If you can't handle the heat, please don't pick up this book. If you've read the rest of my Forbidden Omegaverse series, which are all Standalone novels set in the Were World, you know how it goes. This is my k1nk--if it's yours too, welcome aboard! If not, that's fine, I have lots of other books you can check out without this particular brand of spice.
Hugs and Happy Reading!
Evangeline

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

1

CONNOR

The lights flash on at six am—same time as always but I’ve been awake since five. I’m sitting on the side of my bunk, blinking in the overhead fluorescents that bathe my cell in harsh white light.

It’s just another day in prison.

Across from me I see my image in the flat, scratched metal plate that serves as a kind of mirror welded to the toilet/sink combo. A tall man with pale gray eyes and longish dark brown hair stares back. They shave your head when you first come in, but I’ve had three long years to grow it back, so I did because why the fuck not?

There’s an ugly scar from my left eyebrow down to my left cheekbone, courtesy of another inmate who had a box cutter with a blade that had been dipped in silver. How he smuggled it in, I don’t fucking know but it was damn effective—he barely missed my eye. Silver wounds don’t heal cleanly for a Were, so I’m stuck with the scar for life.

The man staring back at me is unrecognizable as the one who first came to Briarcliff Maximum Correctional. Prison hardens you. It’s not just the tattoos that mark you as someone who’s spent time on the inside. It’s the wary, dangerous look in your eyes—the same expression a cornered wolf gets right before it rips out someone’s throat.

It’s hard to see myself like this, but I have to be honest. This is me now. Nobody looking at the brooding, scarred, tattooed man in the mirror would mistake me for the heir to the Lowell fortune. But here we are.

My private introspection is interrupted by the clomp of the guard’s boots and the jingle of keys as, one by one, the cells are opened. I hear the groans and grunts and angry mumbling of the fifty other men in Cellblock C—the maximum security block for Rogue Alphas—as they start to wake up and make their way through another day.

But it’s not really just another day—not for me. For me, today is the last day in this hellhole. The last time I’ll stand in line at the chow hall and get a tray filled with the disgusting, inedible slop that passes for food here. Meat rock, anyone? Or how about a nice slice of nutri-loaf?

It’s the last time I’ll work in the prison woodworking shop, the last time I’ll go out to the yard and lift, trying to avoid the inevitable fights that always break out because some stupid fucker has a beef with some other stupid fucker and they think they have to throw hands to settle it.

It’s the last time I’ll take a shower with twenty other men, watching my back the whole time. The last time I’ll have to sleep with one eye open—though honestly, since I got moved to a two-man cell that locks at night, that part has been a little better.

Not because my cell mate is a saint—quite the opposite. I’m pretty sure that Kane Black is a sociopath—which isn’t unusual for a Rogue Alpha. We got into it exactly once when I first moved in here. The minute he found out I can hold my own, he left me alone, which suits me fucking fine.
My adopted sister Delilah thinks she can do whatever she wants—even dancing at a sleazy “Gentleman’s Club” in downtown Tampa. I’ll show her what happens when she bares her body for strangers…tonight she dances only for me.
Cole: Ever since she came to live with my family, Delilah has been a little ray of sunshine in my life. There are no blood ties between us, but she’s still my little sister and I adore her. That is I did, until my parents died in an accident, which suddenly made me Packmaster of our Pack.
I tried to comfort Delilah, but I found myself wanting her in a way that wasn’t right. I put some distance between us but then Delilah started getting into all kinds of trouble. I’ve been bailing her out but her latest scheme is too much—I just got word that she’s started stripping at a sleazy club called The Doll House in downtown Tampa. Now my hand is itching to redden her lush behind and you’d better believe she’s going to find out what happens when she decides to bare her body for strangers!

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

1

COLE

“Sir, excuse me. I need to speak with you.”

“Not now, Kurt.” I waved a hand at my second in command without looking up from my laptop.

“But, Sir—”

“I’m too fucking busy—the Council wants this report by tomorrow,” I growled, glaring at the screen.

“Cole, I really think you need to hear this.”

His use of my first name made me look up at last. Kurt’s very good about keeping things professional. I’m his Packmaster and he treats me with respect—the first name never comes out until things get serious.

“What is it?” I asked.

Kurt took a deep breath.

“It’s about Delilah. She’s…” He stopped talking, seeming to be at a loss for words.

“What about Delilah?” I asked warily.

My little sister is a pain in my ass and I wondered what the hell she’d gotten up to this time. Lately it seemed like she was always in trouble.

Last month she’d gotten a speeding ticket I had to take care of. The month before that, she got into a MLM and I had to extract her before she sank every cent in her savings account into worthless yoga clothes she was supposed to resell to women even more gullible than she was. The month before that, she was arrested for protesting against animal cruelty, even though she’s deathly afraid of dogs. She and some friends from PETA staged a sit-in at a local medical testing facility and when she got arrested, guess who had to bail her out?

That’s right—me. The big brother. The one who’s always there to fish her out when she swims out too deep.

The thing is, I’m not even really her brother—not by blood anyway. Though in a very real and important way, I’m as much her sibling as if we’d been born to the same parents.

If that sounds contradictory, well—it is. Let me explain.

Delilah—or just “Lilah” which is what I call her when she’s not being a pain in my ass—came into our family when she was eleven and I was seventeen. Her parents were part of our pack. They had both been killed in a burglary attempt gone wrong and she had nowhere to go. My Dad was the Packmaster—a title I have since inherited from him—and he felt a deep sense of responsibility to our Pack members. Also, my mom had always wanted a little girl, so we took her in.

I was a teenager at the time, which meant I wasn’t thinking of anyone but myself. I was out of the house more than I was in it, so I told myself I didn’t care about my new little sister. But there’s something about Delilah—she just sucks you in.

She has this curly, strawberry blonde hair that’s always all over the place and this cute little nose with freckles right across the bridge of it. Also, she has these big, mismatched eyes—one blue and one gold—which means she’s got Royal blood somewhere in her family tree. Probably one of her grandparents or great grandparents slept with one of the First Wolves and that one golden eye is the result.

Anyway, I remember one of the first nights we had her in the house. Her room was right beside mine and I was trying to get to sleep when I heard her crying. Not bawling, you understand—it was just this quiet sobbing that tore at my heart. Even though I was a selfish little fuckwit back then, my new little sister’s misery affected me.

I waited for a while to see if my mom would come and comfort her—then remembered that my parents were both out at a Pack meeting that night. So it was up to me.

I’ve never been much good with kids, but I couldn’t just lay there. I think I had some vague idea that maybe I’d offer her a glass of water and she’d drink it and go back to sleep or something—I don’t know.

I went into her room and saw she was curled on her side in a ball with just her long, curly hair sticking out from under the covers. She was the picture of misery, huddled up like that with those low, choked sobs shaking her little body. I felt my heart go out to her, even though I wanted to be annoyed that she was keeping me from getting to sleep.

“Hey, uh, Delilah?” I said uncertainly.

I felt awkward around her, even though she’d already been adopted into our family. In fact, the adoption ceremony had happened just that morning. It’s a Pack ritual, involving blood and fire and it’s very serious.

Some Packs use a brand to mark the new member of the family, but my mother had objected that branding would be too traumatic—especially for a little girl who had just lost everyone she loved. So we all pricked a finger instead and let a drop of blood fall into a candle flame while my father repeated the ancient words.
My name is Zoe and I have committed Sins of the Flesh. But it’s not my fault—none of it would have happened if they hadn’t kidnapped me that fateful day...

They took me and my mother and forced us to become part of their Pack. I didn’t even know I had Were blood until they took us. But then my body started changing—developing in ways it never had before. I started having cravings…longings. But I wasn’t allowed to look at any of the Alphas. My cruel new stepfather had plans for me—I would marry another Pack Master—a ugly, evil man, old enough to be my grandfather. And until then, my stepbrothers, Christopher and Gabriel were supposed to watch over me.

I felt a tingle when they held me between them, but my stepbrothers weren’t supposed to touch me—their whole job was to keep me innocent and pure. I was supposed to be a virgin on my wedding night. They were sent to deliver me to my new husband—but we were forced off the road and taken as prisoners.

The cartel leader who took us holds a grudge against my stepfather. At first he wanted to execute us all…but when he saw the three of us together, he got other ideas. He wanted to us to put on a private show, just for him and to do things…things a girl should never do with her stepbrothers.

Can the three of us escape the clutches of the cartel and the vengeance of the Pack to find true love together? You’ll have to read our story in this Dark Ménage Romance, Sins of the Flesh , to find out.

*Author's Note--please see trigger warnings in my Author's note inside the book. This is a DARK Romance so please read responsibly.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

They say that a relationship born of blood cannot prosper. They also say blood is thicker than water—meaning you keep your family closer than all others. But it’s not about blood for me and mine—it’s about flesh.

The sins of the flesh which I have committed and will commit again.

I don’t care anymore what they say about me—or what laws they say I’ve broken. I was forced into this and now I can’t even say I’m sorry. I’m addicted—I’ll never be able to stop, even if my actions damn me and those I love.

But it never would have happened if they hadn’t taken me in the first place, if they hadn’t stolen me away and changed my entire life beyond recognition…

ONE

My abduction happened the day after my high school graduation.

It wasn’t a big deal, like it is with kids who go to public school. I’d been homeschooled since kindergarten, but we belonged to a small group of families who also homeschooled their kids and our parents had gotten together to do a mini graduation ceremony for us all. I’d even gotten a cap and gown—a purple one my mom had picked out for me.

I had stayed up afterwards, partying with my friends—I did have a few, from my homeschool group, despite the fact that I was so plain and mousy looking. Mom always told me I’d “grow into my looks” whatever that meant. But I had been too busy having fun the night before to worry that I was little and plain, so I was late getting up.

I came down the stairs scratching my head and yawning…only to find a scene out of a horror movie playing out in the living room of our modest two-story ranch style house.

Four men were holding my parents hostage—two of them had my mother by the arms and the other two had my father on the ground, with his face turned to the floor. My Dad looked a lot like me, with blondish brown hair and plain brown eyes, which were nearly covered by the thick glasses he always wore. Now those glasses were crushed and broken on the ground and he was bleeding from the mouth. Someone must have hit him in the face and knocked him down—there was no other explanation.

The fifth man was soon to be my stepfather—though I didn’t know him yet. He was tall and muscular with a thick black beard and cold black eyes like a shark. Those eyes pinned me in place as I stopped, halfway up the stairs, frozen in fright.

“Ah—a little pup too, I see. So the rumors were true—you were pregnant when you slipped your leash all those years ago, Freya,” he said, talking to my mother.

“Zoe’s a blank—a dud!” my mother said quickly. She looked as frightened as I felt—though she was still gorgeous. My mother was always so beautiful with her long, platinum blonde hair and pale golden eyes. I used to wish that I looked like her instead of my father. Only what did the man with the beard mean when he said she’d been pregnant when she ran away? Ran away from where?

My mother had always claimed that she grew up in Norway and immigrated to the US where she had met my father. According to her, it was love at first sight. They had gotten married right away and she had gotten pregnant with me the very next month.

Dad was an accountant—he didn’t make a ton of money but it was enough for my mother to be a stay-at-home mom, which was what she wanted. She never liked going out in public and when she did, she would often wear sunglasses and a dark wig or a head scarf. I asked her why once and she made an excuse about how she hated fixing her hair, which I never questioned, even though her long, silky hair—which was so blonde it was nearly silver—never needed anything done to it to look beautiful.

My parents were a pretty mismatched pair. Anyone who saw them together was always surprised when they found out the two of them were married. My Dad, though he was kind and sweet, didn’t look like the kind of guy who could get a woman like my mom interested in him. Mom looked like a supermodel with her curvy figure and striking hair and eyes and Dad looked like…well, like an accountant.

But now he was down on the ground, bleeding, and my mom was being held by two thugs while the bearded man strolled around our living room like he owned the place!

For a moment, I didn’t know what to do. Then I ran down the stairs and stepped between my mother and the bearded man.

“You leave my parents alone!” I said, trying to look as fierce as I could. I drew myself up to my full height—just a hair under five foot four—and glared up at him. “Whoever you are, get out of our house before I call the police!”
Daddy Jack calls me his Princess and tells me he’ll protect me from the big bad world. But how can he protect me from the way being near him stirs my body to life and fills me with forbidden desire? How can he protect me from my…Heat Cycle?

My parents died before they could tell me what I am. I never had a Were Mark, so they thought it would be safe to leave me ignorant of my heritage—my birthright as a Female Were. So I had no idea why my body started behaving so strangely when Daddy Jack showed up.

Jack was my Father’s best friend—they swore an oath to protect each other’s families. After my parents were killed in a car wreck, he showed up on my doorstep, ready to take care of me and protect me from the big bad world.

Despite his fearsome appearance—piercing blue eyes, a bristly black beard, and tattoos everywhere—Daddy Jack was kind and sweet to me. He let me crawl in bed with him at night when the nightmares got bad and cuddled me close to his broad chest until I could fall asleep again.

But being near my new Daddy seems to have changed something inside me. My breasts are filled with sticky-sweet nectar and I feel so empty inside—like I need to be filled. I hear people whispering about my “Heat Cycle,” though I don’t know what that means. Jack swears he can’t help me with my new cravings because that would be violating the Unbreakable Laws of the Pack—he says we could be killed for our forbidden love. But my body is crying out for his and I don’t care about the danger—I just want my Daddy Jack to give me what I so desperately desire— him .

Author's Note--Please read the warning at the beginning of the book before purchasing. This is an unapologetic age gap, Call me Daddy romance. If you don't like that kind of book, please don't buy this because it's definitely NOT for you.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

ONE

(Stop! Did you read the Author’s Warning at the beginning of the book? If not, please go read it now. If you’ve read it and you’re all good, then enjoy the book. Thanks, Evangeline)

Daddy Jack was my father’s best friend—a big, burly man, muscular and dark, with thick black hair and a bristly black beard. Blue tattoos covered both muscular arms, painting his olive skin in mysterious curving patterns I used to love to trace with my finger.

“What does this one mean, Daddy Jack?” I would ask, hanging over the arm of his chair and pointing to one or the other.

“Why, that’s my Pack Sign, Princess,” he’d say. Or, “That’s my Were Mark.” Or, “That one tells that I’m an Alpha.”

“Now, Jack—don’t you go telling her about that kind of thing,” my mom would say, frowning in a worried way.

“Don’t worry, Melissa—you know this little Princess doesn’t have a Were Mark. She won’t have to worry about Pack politics,” I remember Daddy Jack telling her.

“What does that mean?” I asked, looking up into his piercing blue eyes, thickly fringed with black lashes.

He only laughed and shook his head.

“Don’t you worry your pretty head about it, Princess.”

And that was all I could get out of him.

I tried to get my mom to talk about it, but she was quiet too.

“It doesn’t concern you, Madison,” she’d say primly. “You won’t have to worry about it—any of it. And that’s a good thing.”

But at night, I heard her talking to my father and she had other things to say.

It was one of those nights when I heard them “wrestling” around on their bed—the sounds used to scare me when I was little until my mom explained that she and my father were just “having grownup fun.” I didn’t know what that meat exactly, but I guessed that “fun” couldn’t be a bad thing, right? So I stopped being scared, but I didn’t stop listening.

That night I snuck out of my bed, both fascinated and frightened by the sounds, which were different from usual. This time it sounded like my mom was actually crying.

“What is it, Melissa? What’s wrong, honey?” I heard my father asking her. “Was it the dream again?”

“Yes…” My mother’s voice hitched with a sob. “I don’t know what it means! And I don’t understand why Madison’s Mark hasn’t appeared. You’re an Alpha and I’m an Omega—how can she not have a Were Mark?”

“Some kids are born without one. It’s rare but it happens—you know that,” my father said, still trying to comfort her. “It’s a good thing, actually—you and I both know from personal experience how twisted Pack politics can be. Hell, we moved across the country to get away from the mess back at our home Pack!”

“I know…” My mom sighed. “It just seems wrong and the dream…”

“Forget the dream,” my father said soothingly. “Madison is safe. And you know if anything ever happened to us, Jack would step in. He’s my Blood-Brother in the Pack and he’s sworn an oath to protect her.”

“I know,” my mom said. “And it does make me feel better. I just feel bad for him—losing his Mate like that. It’s so sad.”

“He’s doing okay,” my father said.

“No—I don’t think he is, Patrick. He puts up a good front, but I don’t think he’s ever going to find a female he’ll want to mate again, after losing Jessica.”

“Well, then he can stay here with us,” my father said. “He’s better off away from Pack politics too. We all are. Now come on, baby—let’s go back to sleep. I have a long day tomorrow.”

There were sounds of rustling and I could imagine my parents getting comfortable under their soft down comforter and crisp white sheets. The sounds comforted me and I tiptoed back to bed.

But once there, I lay away wondering. I hadn’t understood what they were talking about and it puzzled me. What was the dream my mom kept having and what did it have to do with me? What were “Pack politics” and who was the girl that Daddy Jack lost? Was he really sad? He didn’t seem sad to me—with me he was always happy and laughing—that deep, rumbling chuckle I liked so much. Aside from my parents, he was my favorite person in the whole world.

Let me tell you a little more about Daddy Jack—or what I knew back then. He was my father’s best friend—the best man at his wedding, the one my father depended on to always be there. I’d heard them say they were “Blood brothers,” just like my father had mentioned, but I didn’t understand what that meant. He was around our house so much I started calling him “Daddy Number Two” when I was little, which eventually changed to “Daddy Jack” when I got a little older.
Bound together by a brand…
Kept apart by the unyielding rules of the Pack. My foster brother, Nick and I are destined to be Fated Mates
But when his Beast comes out on the night my NEED is on me. Will we commit an unforgivable sin together?
Being an orphan is tough…going through the foster care system is even tougher. I never would have made it through without my foster brother, Nick Callahan, to guide and protect me. But Nick and I have a troubled past. See, he’s full-blooded Were and I’m half Were and back before our fathers died, they swore an oath to be blood brothers and had both Nick and I branded to prove that we were family.
Nick and I went our separate ways after we got out of the system, but I made the mistake of going back to my hometown of Wolverton on the night of the Open Breeding. And who should be there but Nick—my foster brother and protector and the one and only man I’ve ever really loved. But we’re forbidden to be together—the same brands that mark us as “family” keep us forever apart.
And there’s another problem—Nick has a secret, one he’s been keeping from me for years. You see, he’s not a normal Were—he doesn’t shift into a wolf. Instead, he has a beast inside, half man/half wolf—an eight foot tall monster that hungers for me just as much as Nick does. Now I must choose between my foster brother and breaking the Unbreakable Laws of the pack. But under the full moon when his beast comes out and the Breeding Fever makes me crazy with need and desire, will I really have a choice?
You’ll have to read The Brand that Binds, book two in the Forbidden Omegaverse series to find out…
****Author’s Warning: STOP! If I am an auto-buy author for you, please read this before you buy. This book needs all the trigger warnings. It has the death of parents, (although that happens off-screen, so to speak) childhood trauma within the foster system, and some near-misses with assault. If you have a history of any of these things, you might find this book upsetting. You should also be warned that this is a Shifter book and some things happen in Fur Form that you might find disturbing. Again, if this kind of thing upsets or offends you then please, DON’T BUY THIS BOOK! I want all my readers to be happy and feel like their money is well-spent when they buy my books. So please buy and read responsibly and don’t say I didn’t warn you—this one gets DARK.
She didn’t seem a bit upset by the fact that the two of us—along with a lot of other “unclaimed females”—were being taken to an “Open Breeding.” Which was what the asshole who had handcuffed me and kidnapped me called it.

“Excited?” I demanded, frowning at her. “I didn’t choose this and I’m betting you didn’t either!”

She shrugged.

“Well, I mean, what can you do? If either one of us had gotten mates, it would be different. But we didn’t—none of the Alphas picked us.”

Since I had missed the “auction” which had supposedly been held the night before in the local high school gymnasium of all places, being chosen by an “Alpha” hadn’t been an option for me. But even if it had been, it wouldn’t have made a damn bit of difference. I wanted no part of this—any of it!

“So?” I shook my head. “Not being chosen by some asshole as his mate doesn’t mean we just have to submit to whatever guys happen to be out there tonight!” In fact, I intended to fight like hell, but the girl beside me clearly didn’t share my views.

“Yes, we do have to submit,” she argued, a frown creasing her pretty face. “Or do you want to die of Breeding Fever?”

“Breeding Fever’s a lie—it’s a bunch of bullshit,” I snapped. “It’s just what they tell single, unmated females in this crazy town because a lot of old men are horny and want to fuck.”

“That’s not true!” The girl turned pale. “I’ve seen Breeding Fever before and it’s not pretty. My cousin died of it because she got caught out in the woods with nobody but her blood-sib brother around.” Her voice dropped and her eyes shifted uncomfortably. “And of course he couldn’t breed her.”

Her words triggered something in me—some long ago memory of childhood I had buried. I pushed it away because it hurt to remember, but the scar on my forearm, just below my wrist, throbbed, no matter how hard I tried not to think of it.

“It’s all bullshit,” I said again, fiercely. “And I didn’t sign up for any of this!”

“This” being the Open Breeding I was shortly to be subjected to, where they set us all loose in a field and then let a bunch of horny “Alphas” in to fuck whoever they could catch. In my estimation, it was just a mass rape of a bunch of single women who had all been brainwashed into believing this was for their own good.

I’d rather drag my bare coochie through gravel than let some strange man run me down and fuck me—but unfortunately, it wasn’t up to me. I was trapped and there didn’t seem to be any escape.

“I knew I never should have come back to Wolverton,” I muttered to myself, looking down at the silver handcuffs that still bound me. None of the other women in the group huddled in the back of the van were handcuffed. But then, none of the others had been kidnapped right out of their car and forced into the Open Breeding.

It had all started when I’d gotten the bright idea to try and track down my roots. I hadn’t lived in Wolverton, Georgia in years—not since high school. But I had grown up in the area and I had been trying to track down some relations.

It’s not easy being an orphan—not having a soul you can call family. My father had died in a fight when I was a kid and my mom had died a little later on in a car wreck, leaving me to the tender care of the foster system—which in Wolverton, let me tell you, is not great.

In a fit of hopefulness, I had done one of those 23 and Me DNA tests and had turned up a great aunt I hadn’t known I had. The state hadn’t known about her either, apparently, or presumably I wouldn’t have been dumped into the foster care system when my own mom died. Or maybe they had found her and she just didn’t want me.

Either way, I’d convinced myself it was a good idea to take a sabbatical from my comfortable job as an adjunct instructor of Women’s Studies at Mount Holyoke in Massachusetts and come trace my roots in the Deep South.

I hadn’t found my great aunt—or at least, not alive. She had a small gravestone in the local cemetery that was already getting overgrown with weeds. So I guessed I’d never know if she had wanted me or not. Probably not, since she was on my father’s side—the white, redneck side of my now extinct family tree.

My mom had been black and from a prominent African American family in Chicago. But her parents had disowned her when she married my white dad and moved down to Georgia. My grandparents died soon after and since my mom was their only child, there wasn’t anything for me there. And my dad had no brothers or sisters either—leaving me on my own from an early age.
