Nathan Shaw has been keeping a secret since high school. It was so tightly intertwined with someone else’s that exposing the darkest facts meant he couldn’t keep the other to himself.

He’s had years of holding onto those truths. This also means he's had to push away the one person who means more to him than anything—and in the process, all it does is make her think that he despises her like all of the other people in her life.

But that's so far from the truth about his feelings that he holds so close to his heart.
Haven Larson has had an awful childhood growing up with an abusive father and a mother who tries her best, but sometimes the best can't protect you from the monsters that hide in darkness.

One night, protecting her from those monsters, fell on the one boy she had loved for as long as she could remember. And now she knows that he can't stand to be around her after discovering her secrets—or can he, because every time they are together, the sparks ignite and threaten to combust.

But it will take their darkest secrets being exposed in order for their feelings to come to light.

Devoted Enough is the last book in the Love in Montana series. Full blurb coming soon!

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

NATHAN

Sophomore Year of High School

“Why do I have to bring it to her? Can’t Lily, or what about her mom? Can either of them come and get it?” I asked my mother as she stood in front of me, arms folded over her chest.

“Because your father is out of town, your sister has plans, and I have a meeting I need to attend tonight. Grace is in Missoula caring for her sick mother.”

“Mom, you know how much Haven gets under my skin.”

“Nathan Shaw, that young girl has had a crush on you since middle school, and that shouldn’t make her get under your skin.”

“It’s not just that, Mom.”

“I’m not asking you to simply take something to her, Nathan.”

“But–”

She held up her hand. “But nothing. I also want you to give this casserole to Haven. I’m sure her father hasn’t made her anything decent to eat since Grace has been gone.”

My mother’s voice was filled with dislike for David Larson. Haven wasn’t very fond of her father either, at least based on the few times she has spoken about him. “Do you not like him?”

She huffed. “Never mind how I feel about him. I promised Grace I’d make sure Haven was okay.”

I sighed. There wasn’t anything I wouldn’t do for my mother, but Haven Larson? Going to her house and seeing her wasn’t something I really wanted to do. It wasn’t that I didn’t like her; I did like her, but if my friends found out, they would tease me. Not that I couldn’t handle it, but it would most likely get people teasing Haven, and I didn’t want that. Haven got a lot of shit in school for not having money. The girls teased her for her clothes and the fact that she walked dogs as a job. I thought they were all jealous of her. She had the most beautiful grayish-blue eyes, brown curly hair, and the cutest dimples that appeared when she smiled. From the gossip making the rounds at school, her father wasn’t especially nice to Haven or her mother, Grace. No one was sure why, though.

“Fine, I’ll drop off the casserole and her backpack. But it was her fault for leaving it here after her lessons.”

My mother gave Haven horseback riding lessons for free since she was good friends with Grace. If you ask me, Haven spent way too much time here at our place and not enough time at her own home.

Kissing me on the cheek, she opened the door to the truck. “Be careful driving, Nate.”

“I will, Mom. You be careful driving to your meeting too.”

She leaned in and kissed me once again. “Thank you, sweetheart.”

With a wink, I replied, “Anything for you, Mom.”

She rolled her eyes. “The apple didn’t fall far from the tree.”

It took me about forty minutes to get from the ranch to Haven’s place. Her parents didn’t live on the best side of town, but it wasn’t the worst either. They had a simple, two-story house that I had only ever seen from the outside.

I pulled up and parked in front of the house. Haven’s father’s truck was parked in the driveway. Grabbing the backpack, I got out of the truck and made my way to the passenger side to get the casserole. As I walked up to the door, I heard a loud scream come from inside the house, and my heart felt like it was about to nearly jump out of my chest.

“That’s Haven,” I said to myself as I quickly went to the door and was about to ring the doorbell when I heard the faint sound of more screaming for someone to leave her alone. I reached for the door, and it was open. My heart hammered in my chest, and I had no idea what I was walking into. When I heard a crash come from upstairs, I dropped the backpack, put the casserole on a side table near the door, and then dashed up the steps. Haven’s voice guided me to where I needed to go.

“Please don’t do this. Please!”

I ran up the steps. The room where her voice was coming from was down the hall.

“You know what will happen if you don’t keep your damn mouth shut.”

For a moment, my footsteps faltered. That was Haven’s father’s voice.

“Please…don’t do this! Please, stop!”

I pushed the door open to see David forcing Haven’s hands above her head as he moved over her. For a moment, I was frozen in place. Was I seeing what I thought I was seeing?

When she let out a small cry, I ran, grabbed him by the shirt, and yanked him off of her. Then I pulled back my fist and punched him. He stumbled back and fell to the floor.

“Nate!” Haven cried out as she scrambled to the other side of her bed.
Finally returning home after years in Paris, ex-model Avery Littlewood never imagined a rerouted flight plan would land her on destiny’s runway. She’s seated next to a gorgeous stranger…and as he shares his story, it’s not long before she discovers why his arresting blue eyes look so familiar. There are several reasons why Beck should be off limits—he lives in Texas; he needs a friend, not a relationship; he’s practically family—but none of that overshadows Avery’s instant attraction for the man the moment she stepped foot on that plane.
Months after his mother’s death, old love letters have given Beck Dahlstrom the courage to seek out the Shaws, the family of the long-deceased father he never knew. He can’t believe his luck when the most gorgeous creature he’s ever seen sits beside him on the plane. When he discovers she’s not only heading to the same small Montana town, but she’s close to his father’s family, it’s more like fate. There are several reasons why Avery should be off limits—she’s considerably younger; they’re from different worlds; her father might kill him just for looking at her—but every glimpse into her stunning turquoise eyes just makes him fall deeper.
Montana, the Shaw family, Avery…all of them soon have Beck enchanted enough to consider big changes. But his life in Dallas also has considerable pull, including a person…or two…unwilling to give up Beck so easily.

Each book in the Love in Montana series can be read as a stand alone. The author highly suggests for a better reading experience you read the books in order.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

BECK

Lifting the beer to my mouth, I took a long drink. In front of me lie everything left of my mother, my best friend, the only person who had ever loved me completely. I cleaned out her house and donated everything else to a women’s shelter. The only things that remained were those that she had personally boxed up and put in the attic, the things that meant the most to her.

I closed my eyes and fought the burning sensation of tears. Six months she’d been gone, and every day I missed her more and more. If one more person told me time heals, I would hit them.

I took another long sip of beer and set it on the small table beside me. Letting out my breath, I pulled the first box closer. My hand shook slightly as I lifted the lid off and stared inside the box.

“The very first box, Mom,” I said as I glanced up. “You always were a planner.”

Looking back at the box, I reached in and pulled out a stack of letters. They were from him—my father. The man my mother had only told me bits and pieces about.

I closed my eyes as a memory hit. I was six years old, and had been afraid of a storm…

“Shh, don’t be afraid of the storm, Beck.”

“I can’t help it, Mommy. The thunder scares me.”

She rocked me slightly. “Don’t let the thunder scare you. Do you know what it is?”

Shaking my head, I asked, “What is it?”

My mother placed a kiss on top of my head. “It’s the sound from when the lightning hits something.”

“How come it doesn’t make it at the same time as the light?”

She laughed softly. “Maybe we should wait until you’re a little older before I explain that. Your daddy used to love thunderstorms so much. He wasn’t afraid of them at all.”

“How did he die?”

I felt her let out a gust of breath. “He was a soldier, a Marine. So brave and smart, just like you. He was on a secret mission, and something went wrong. He died before he ever got to meet you.”

“Do you think he would have liked me?”

Moving so she could look me in the face, she cupped my cheeks and smiled. “Oh, Beck, he would have loved you fiercely. That was the type of man he was. He loved me, and I loved him. And with that love, we made you together. I know he would have worshipped the ground you walked on.”

I felt hot tears on my cheeks. “I wish he wouldn’t have died.”

She slowly nodded and wiped her tears away. “Me too, sweetheart. Me too.”

I was jolted from the memory when I heard the floorboard creak behind me.

“Did you want any help?” Mateo asked.

I shouldn’t have been surprised he was here. He always had my back, from the first moment we met on the playground in first grade. A kid was making fun of me for my haircut, and Mateo told him to stop. Then he looked at Mateo and said something that, at the time, I hadn’t realized was derogatory. Mateo had, though. Even at that young age, he was already hearing it.

The next thing I knew, Mateo punched the kid, and he and I both ended up in trouble. From that point on, we were the best of friends. And his mom and my mother had become close as well. Both single moms raising unruly boys.

“I appreciate it, but I think I need to do this part on my own.”

He placed his hand on my shoulder and squeezed it. “You know I’m here,” he said.

All I could do was nod. Emotions clogged my throat. He turned, and the sound of the door clicking nearly made me jump.

I took the rubber band off the letters and felt a strange sensation in my chest as I read the return address. Sergeant Beck Shaw. My mother had never told me my father’s last name. Only that I was named after him.

My hands shook as I turned the letters over and started reading them. In the first few, it was clear they had just started dating. Sergeant Beck Shaw had been in the Marine Forces Special Operations Command and was often gone for weeks, or months, at a time. He could never tell my mother where he was going or how long he’d be gone. The letters were sweet and tender, and the deeper I got into the pile, the more their love for one another became apparent.

In one letter, Beck replied to my mother about her news that her father disapproved of their relationship. He said that he’d never want to come between her and her family, but that he loved her and wasn’t about to walk away. The next letter talked about how much he enjoyed spending time with her. That their time in the beach house, in particular, was something he’d never forget.
Even though they’d never dated, Lily Shaw always just assumed she’d eventually end up with Ben, the boy who’s been her bestie since they were toddlers. So she’s understandably shocked to learn he’s getting married—and having a child with his fiancée. Shocked…but not terribly upset. The truth is, she's been feeling butterflies every time she’s near a particular horse trainer on her parents’ ranch. Unfortunately, though attracted to Lily, Maverick’s decided he has nothing to offer her beyond a good time.

The Shaws are all about family, something Maverick Prescott admires. But despite his boss treating him like another son, and Maverick wanting the man’s daughter in the worst way, how can he start something he doesn’t think he can finish? He has nothing to offer Lily, not even his own heritage. Just a past filled with so much pain, he decided a long time ago he’s best off spending his life alone, tending to the rescue horses who are just as damaged as Maverick.

Lily, however, is a typical Shaw—stubborn as the day is long. Getting into Maverick’s bed is the easy part; getting into his heart is the real challenge. But maybe if he feels loved enough, he’ll be willing to give them a chance.

Loved Enough is a stand alone novel but for a better reading experience the author invites you to read the books in order.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

LILY

“What is it about weddings that make me feel so depressed?”

I glanced up to see Renee Sanders, one of my friends from high school, standing beside me and frowning out at the dance floor. My eyes followed her gaze, and I couldn’t help but smile. My cousin Rose was dancing with her new husband, Bryson, at their wedding reception. I’d never seen her look so happy or so beautiful. They met in Seattle a year ago at a party Bryson had at his place. He retired from the Seattle Mariners after injuring his pitching arm, and now he lives right outside of Hamilton in a house that Rose herself designed. They honestly were the cutest couple.

“Because you’re ready to be the bride?”

Renee shrugged. “Probably.”

“Rose looks beautiful,” I stated, my eyes sweeping over the rose-colored wedding gown that my other cousin Morgan designed. Morgan co-owned a boutique in downtown Hamilton with our cousin Blayze’s wife, Georgiana. They were known for their custom-designed wedding dresses and bridesmaids gowns.

In a twist that only Rose would do, she wanted a colored wedding dress, and her attendants wore white and cream. Morgan had been all over that idea and had designed the gown in record time.

“She does, indeed,” Renee replied as she sat beside me. “I especially love her hair.”

Laughing, I looked at her. “Is that because you did her hair?”

She gave a one-shoulder shrug. “You have to admit, her hair looks stunning with those tiny roses in it.”

“You could make anyone’s hair look stunning, Renee.”

With a smile, she winked at me. “Hey, do you think Bryson could introduce me to a few of his former friends? Particularly that blond over there who keeps eye-fucking me.”

I followed her gaze and saw one of the guys who used to play with Bryson on the Mariners looking our way.

I let out a huff. “Excuse me, but how do you know he’s not eye-fucking me?”

Renee laughed. “Do you want him to be looking at you?”

I shrugged. “I might want him to be looking at me.”

“Who?” Ben, my other best friend—and the guy I’ve been secretly in love with for as long as I could remember—asked as he sat down between me and Renee.

“The hot baseball player in the corner over there currently looking at either me or Lily, or possibly both of us. That might be kind of fun.”

I screwed up my face. “I didn’t need that visual, Renee.”

Ben laughed.

“You never did tell me why Abby didn’t come with you?” I asked Ben as he slid a glass of wine in front of me, then gave Renee his drink.

He shrugged. “She said she didn’t feel like coming.”

Renee lifted a brow as she took a sip of wine.

I let out a humorless laugh as I asked, “She didn’t give you a reason?”

Looking frustrated, Ben snapped, “No, Lily, she didn’t.”

I drew back. “Wow, okay. Don’t bite my head off. I was simply asking about her, that’s all.”

He sighed and pushed his hand through his hair. “She thinks I’m spending too much time with you, now that you’re out of school. She accused me of not being able to let you go, said she doesn’t want us hanging out anymore. I told her that she was talking crazy. I’ve explained time and time again you’re like a sister to me, and I don’t have romantic feelings toward you.”

Ouch. Well, that was a dose of reality I probably needed.

Nodding, I took a sip of my wine.

“I mean, I can see where she’s coming from,” Renee stated as I shot daggers at her. She wasn’t catching on, though, since she was still staring at the baseball player while she talked. “It’s not every day a guy has a woman for a best friend. And a hot one at that, with amazing breasts.”

Ben glanced at my exposed cleavage then quickly averted his eyes as if he’d just burned them. I frowned and looked away.

“I’m trying to be understanding. But she told me today that she should be my best friend.”

I nearly choked on my own spit. “I’m sorry, but first she says we can’t hang out, now she wants to completely take my place as your friend?”

Ben looked at me with an apologetic expression. “I know, Lily. And I’m sorry, but…I think maybe we need to step back from seeing each other so much. That would make Abby feel better.”

“Ben, we’ve been best friends since we were old enough to talk. Don’t you care about my feelings, too?”

“Of course, I do, but she’s my girlfriend, and I need to prove that she means more to me.”

“Wow,” Renee stated. “I didn’t realize Abby was so insecure in her relationship with you, Ben. Is she that threatened by Lily?”

Ben shot her a dirty look. “She’s not insecure. Put yourself in her shoes. If you were dating a guy who had a female best friend, wouldn’t you feel the same way?”
Rose Shaw has no idea what she wants. She put aside passion for practicality, earning her degree in a subject she likes, but doesn’t love. Same for her job as an junior architect. And don’t even get started on her personal life…been there, done that, got betrayed for her effort. So when sparks fly after meeting a renowned MLB player while on vacation, she takes him for what he is—a homerun in the sack, but nothing more. The next day, she sneaks back to Montana, leaving Bryson behind…but the memories of their night together refuse to disappear so easily.

Bryson Robinson knows exactly what he wants. His parents are a love-at-first-sight success story, so he recognizes what he felt with Rose Shaw during their night together could be the real deal. She has no interest in long-distance dating…so when the league’s best pitcher gets devastating news that could be the third strike for his career, he turns it into a win, going all in to get the girl. Starting with a home in Montana—and hiring Rose to design it.

Now he just has to convince her that not all men, including MLB superstars, are players…if she’s daring enough to take the risk.

Daring Enough is the fourth book in the Love in Montana series. It can be read as a stand alone, but for a better reading experience the author suggest reading the series in order.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

ROSE

Seattle, Washington

“Come on, please come to this baseball game with me,” Loren begged as she stared me down in the mirror she was using to apply her makeup.

I flopped on the sofa of her fancy condo overlooking downtown Seattle. “I came to Seattle to visit my best friend and celebrate graduating from college, not go to a stupid baseball game.”

“Did I mention how hot the guys look in their uniforms? Besides, there’s an after-party at Nick’s penthouse if they win, and I want you to get to know him more.”

Nick Rossi was Loren’s boyfriend, and he was also a professional baseball player. We had been best friends since kindergarten, and I was devastated when she moved to Washington. We had always planned to go to the University of Montana together. Loren teased me it was a good thing she didn’t go there since I transferred to Montana State to get my degree in environmental design and thought I would be going on to get my master’s. But after getting my degree, I realized my dream wasn’t to design skyscrapers or bridges. Although I had enjoyed the few projects I worked on. Like when I helped my cousin Blayze design his log cabin, as well as helped my uncle design a more environmentally friendly barn for his horses. I liked interior decorating and helped Blayze decorate his entire house. Being able to use colors was something I loved, which gave me an outlet since I hadn’t painted in a few years. Not since I overheard someone tearing apart a painting I placed in an art show. I shivered thinking about that long-buried memory.

My gaze lifted to see Loren. She had moved to Seattle because her dream had always been to live by the ocean. Plus, she had always said she would work for the Seattle Mariners and she had been so passionate about following those two dreams, and well, she did it. I was proud of her for taking the risk and succeeding.

I had no idea what my passion was. Four years ago, I would have said it was to paint and sell my art to people all over the world. I was especially good at landscape painting. Obviously, there was a lot of inspiration living in Montana. Much like my mother, I had a talent for drawing and painting.

Sighing, I stood. “Fine. Can I at least dress comfortably and not in some slutty dress?”

She shot me a dirty look in the mirror. “I’m not wearing this to the game.”

I raised a brow. “Then why do you have it on?”

“I feel pretty in it.”

Curling my lip, I gave her a look that said she was strange. “Whatever. I’m wearing this.”

Spinning on the stool, she gave me a once-over. “Oh, Rose, no. You’re too damn beautiful, and you’ll ruin it by dressing down.”

“Ruin what? And what do you mean by dressing down?” I asked with my hands on my hips. “I have on jeans, super cute pink sneakers, and a Seattle Mariners long-sleeved shirt? How am I dressed down?”

“That’s cute to wear to the game, not the after-party.”

“Loren, I’m not dressing up for an after-party of a baseball game.”

“Fine,” she stated with a flick of her hand. “But when everyone else at the after-party is dressed cute, you’ll regret it.”

Walking over to her, I put my hands on her shoulders, leaned down, and looked in the mirror. “I highly doubt that.”

Bored. Bored. Bored.

I was bored out of my ever-loving mind. I thought nothing could be more dull than a baseball game, but I was wrong. Okay, so the baseball game wasn’t all that boring. I did get into it a few times with fans and screaming at the umpire, I will admit.

But at the after-party, I felt like I was in high school again with how some of the women acted. There were a few players and a plethora of women whom I was starting to wonder if they were paid by the hour. I had walked into one bathroom only to see a guy fucking someone while they stood in the shower. The shower was off, and they were completely clothed. It only took me a nano-second to slowly back out.

The penthouse was amazing, though, so I decided to wander around and take a look at it. The design and construction of the penthouse told me it was done by someone who knew what they were doing and took pride in the aesthetics. The placement of the windows alone was perfection. And I had a hard time believing a guy decorated the penthouse. My fingers itched to touch the fabrics on the sofa and the curtains, but I knew if someone caught me, I’d look weird. So I just smiled as I looked around.

The owner was Bryson Robinson, who was the pitcher for the Mariners, and from what I could tell, he was damn hot. I’d gotten a solid look at him a few times while he was pitching. Loren was right about one thing: the uniforms did look good on the guys. And Mr. Bryson Robinson had a nice ass. At least in the uniform he did. Although, I hadn’t laid eyes on him since we arrived, which was strange considering this was his and Nick’s place.
Hunter Shaw is handsome, charming, and a minor celeb on the collegiate team roping circuit. Not to mention, he looks damn fine in a cowboy hat. So it’s no surprise when he’s ardently pursued to be the star on a new streaming network’s debut program—a reality dating show. The money on offer would do wonders for his family’s charity, but it’s only after catching a glimpse of the show’s host that he’s all-in. The former Ms. Montana catches his eye and his interest…inconvenient, to say the least, when he’s about to date twenty women on national television.

Kipton Howse also desperately needs the money from hosting Swipe Right , but for different reasons. With barely a glance at the contract, she signs on for the two-month shoot. She’ll do her job, collect her payment, then put Shaw Ranch in her rearview. Of course, she didn’t count on loving the place so much…or the entire Shaw family…or Hunter himself. From the moment they meet, sparks fly, and they only get hotter as the show continues, despite a houseful of women vying for his attention.

Sexual tension is at an all-time high when things take a dramatic turn, both on and off the cameras, thanks to the show’s rabid fans—who vote to shake things up in a way no one saw coming. It’s safe to say Kipton and Hunter’s sizzling attraction is no longer a secret. But at least one contestant isn’t ready to admit defeat.

After all…what's reality TV without a bit of drama?

Brave Enough is book three in the Love in Montana series. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but for a better reading experience the author recommends you reading in order.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

HUNTER

A few months back, Missoula, MT

“You want me to do what?” I asked the two gentlemen sitting at the table across from me.

They waited for the server to finish clearing the plates from lunch. “We want you to star in a social dating experiment to help kick off a new network. And to make things interesting, portions will be aired live over a two-month period. No scripts, just real-life experiences.”

I stared at them silently for what I knew was much longer than I should have. “I’m sorry…Jack and Travis, correct?”

They both nodded. “Jack Morris and Travis Ryan.”

I smiled politely as I said, “My first question is, why me?”

The older guy, Jack, who was maybe in his early thirties, cleared his throat. “May I be frank with you?”

“I wish you would.”

“My mother was a huge fan of your father’s. Brock Shaw is a legend in this industry. She loves everything and anything to do with rodeos and the PBR. She’s followed your budding college career with team roping, and from what she tells us, you seem to have a big fan base of your own, both on and off campus.”

Travis cut in, “And I’m perfectly fine enough with my own masculinity to say that you’re a good-looking guy. You’re built from years of working on a ranch, you’re…what, about five-eleven?”

I nodded.

“Right. So you have your father’s looks, you’re a cowboy, your family is wealthy and has a rather large ranch here in Montana—if not the largest. The question should be…why not you? You are the future of your family’s legacy, so it should be your turn.”

I fidgeted in my seat some as I rubbed the back of my neck. “That was frank. And someone obviously did their homework—right down to how tall I am.”

Jack spoke again, “We want to be as open as we can with you, Hunter. Our parents’ company is starting the new network and we need something big to kick it off. There is a lot of competition out there, so the first few shows need to pull people in fast, especially women. My mother, in particular, wants to focus on empowering women with this network. It’s not going to be filled with shows on how to make Grandma’s meatloaf. More like how to build a house like the one your grandmother lived in. With that said, women—”

“And men,” Travis added.

Jack nodded. “And men like reality dating shows. Look at the more popular ones that are out right now. Their fans have what they call nations. These people throw viewing parties for every episode, or when they’re airing the finale.”

“I don’t want to get married. I’m only twenty-one, and not to mention, I’m still in college.”

They both laughed. “We’re not going to ask you to get married. Here’s what we propose. The show will be called Swipe Right and the tagline will be, ‘The Challenges of Dating in the Real World.’ We’ll take a group of women, twenty of them, and house them all together. You’ll have a set number of women—let’s say two—to take out each week. They will be randomly picked. The show will then arrange and pay for you and your date to head out on some magical kind of adventure away from the ranch. However…we’d like to film most of it on your family’s ranch.”
Morgan Shaw is my soulmate. She has no idea how much I desire her to fill the needs I crave. I've dedicated the last four years to learning everything I could about her. If my desire for her ever came to light before she realized how much she loved me, I would be labeled a stalker.

Some might find it a little creepy how I watch her every move. I find it exhilarating. I've even uprooted my entire life for her. Now this man has come into the picture and is not part of my plan. I see the girl's heads turn as he walks by, but Ryan Marshall has nothing on me and my love for Morgan. My obsession with her goes to my soul's deepest, darkest depths. If I can't have her, then no one else can.

It's almost time, Morgan, to be together forever.

Cherished Enough is book two in the Love in Montana series.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

MORGAN

Sophomore Year of College — Two Years From Present Day

“This Halloween party sucks. We should have stayed at our dorm and studied like I suggested,” Krista said as she glanced around the room.

We were at one of the frat houses for what everyone said was the most epic Halloween party on campus. So far we’d been hit on by nearly every male in the room. I watched more guys take girls up those stairs than I cared to count.

“We need to find Heather, and then we can leave.”

Krista rolled her eyes. “She’s probably in some room with her dress up to her waist and some guy in her—”

“Krista!” I squealed.

She gave me a befuddled look. “What? You know I’m right.”

I laughed, then stood on my toes in an attempt to look over everyone.

“Would you like to dance?” a voice said from behind me. Turning to look over my shoulder, I couldn’t help but smile at the guy’s costume.

“A skeleton ringmaster. I love it.”

He smiled back.

“Whoever did your face makeup should be given some kind of award,” Krista stated.

“Thank you,” he said, his voice sounding a bit muffled. “Dance?”

He held his hand out to me, and I looked over at Krista. “For fuck’s sake, go dance,” she said. “At least one of us needs to have some fun. I’ll go find the whore.”

“Krista!” I said with a pleading look.

“Fine.” She rolled her eyes. “I’ll go find the tramp.”

I let out an exasperated sigh as my best friend turned on her heels and headed up the steps in search of the third person in our trio of friends.

Turning back to the stranger, I placed my hand in his. We weaved our way through the crowd of people on the makeshift dance floor. The frat house was in a historical home right off campus, and it looked like we were in the old ballroom.

The skeleton drew me to him, and I cleared my throat and took a step back. It was a little bit too close for my comfort.

“Sorry,” he said with a wicked gleam in his eyes. “What’s your name?”

“Morgan,” I answered. “You?”

“Rich.”

“Nice to meet you, Rich,” I said as we moved to the slow song that was playing. His hand drifted a little more down my back, but I wasn’t sure if I was imagining it or not.

“Are you in the frat?” I asked.

“No, my best friend is, though.”

I nodded.

“Are you in a sorority?”

“God, no!” I blurted out. “Not that there’s anything wrong with them. That’s just not my scene.”

It was his turn to nod.

“You look familiar to me,” he said. “I wonder if we’re in any classes together.”

Looking up at him with a bit of a flirtatious grin, I replied, “I couldn’t tell you since I can’t see what you look like.”

“Tell me you don’t like the mystery of it.”

“It is pretty neat,” I said, laughing somewhat nervously. He was for sure moving his hand down.

“Can I kiss you, Morgan?”

Okay, that was a first. Guys didn’t usually ask—they just dove in.

“Um…”

“Do you have a boyfriend?”

I shook my head as a memory of Ryan holding me while we danced resurfaced in my mind.

“Then what harm is one little kiss?”

I licked my bottom lip and noticed how he reacted to it. Pressing my mouth into a tight line, I looked around. The place was packed with people. What would the harm be? If I thought about it, I freaking deserved a kiss for staying at this stupid party for as long as I had. If a guy pinched my ass one more time, I was going to scream.

“I guess one kiss would be harmless.”

He smiled, and I couldn’t help but notice his perfectly straight teeth. I suddenly wanted to know what Rich looked like.

I reached up onto my toes, and he leaned down. The kiss was soft at first. Nice. He licked my bottom lip, and I opened to him. When his tongue touched mine, I could taste beer and peppermint. Gum, maybe?

He moaned and deepened the kiss. At least one of us was getting something from it because I felt nothing. He was a good kisser, but still…nothing.

When he grabbed my ass with both hands and pulled me against his body, I gasped at the feel of his hard erection. I put my hands on his chest and pushed as hard as I could.

“Stop!”

A few people turned and looked at us, and he stepped back and ran his hand through his hair. “I’m sorry.”

Wiping my mouth, I exhaled. “Listen, I’m not interested in anything.”

“You kissed me, though.”

Frowning, I said, “That doesn’t mean I want to go any further with you.”

Taking a step closer, he leaned down. “Are you sure, Morgan? Because I really, really want to f—”

“Found her!” Krista said as she pushed between me and Rich. My eyes were wide with horror because I was pretty sure he’d been about to say that he wanted to fuck me.
Fearless Enough is a spin-off novel from New York Times bestselling author Kelly Elliott’s Meet Me in Montana series. Readers will head back to Hamilton, Montana, for a family reunion like no other!

Blayze Shaw could sum up his life in one word, fulfilling. He grew up in the shadow of his famous father, Brock Shaw, a multi-year PBR champion, but chose not to follow in his dad’s footsteps. Instead, choosing to work on the family’s cattle ranch in Hamilton, Montana. Everything in his life was exactly how he wanted it, and he was the happiest he’d ever been.
When a woman from his past resurfaces and is given the task of diving deep into his world for the answers he isn’t willing to share, Blayze’s perfect world is thrown into a tailspin. He wants to dislike her, but the more time they spend together bickering back and forth, the harder it is to fight his feelings.
Georgiana Crenshaw is chasing a career as a sports reporter and has something to prove to the top dogs at the network where she works. She hasn’t made it this far simply because of who her father is. Georgiana has succeeded solely due to hard work and determination. She dives in when given a chance to show she has what it takes to get the promotion she desperately wants. Told it will be the interview of a lifetime, Georgiana shows up at the airport with a go-get-’em attitude. Only when her father tells her who she’ll be interviewing does she have a moment of doubt.

But honestly, how hard could it be to interview an arrogant, self-centered, obnoxious, too handsome for his own good flirt, who gave Georgiana her first kiss behind the barn on his father’s ranch?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

BLAYZE BROCK SHAW

Senior Year, College – Bozeman, Montana

We clinked our glasses together before I took a drink of the beer my best friend, Ryan, had just brought to the table.

“Dude, I don’t know how you do it,” Ryan stated after he tasted his beer and stared at it with a frown.

“You don’t know how I do what? And why in the hell are you frowning at your beer?”

He shook his head and looked at me. “This tastes like shit. I can probably make better beer than this.”

I shrugged. “Then make it.”

A wide grin moved over his face. “I might just do that once we graduate.”

“Because you’re going to have so much spare time to brew beer.” I laughed.

He ignored me. “To answer the other part of your question: I don’t know how women just gravitate toward you. Don’t say it’s your good looks. We already know that brings them over to you, but what makes them actually leave with you?”

I let another laugh slip free. It was true. With my dark brown, almost-black hair and blue eyes, I had definitely inherited my father’s good looks. It also helped that I had a fit body—and not one that came from working out in a gym, but from working my ass off on my family’s cattle ranch and helping my uncles break in horses and train bulls for the Professional Bull Riders circuit. Plus, I had been following in my father’s footsteps as a bull rider, until it became clear to me that my true love was our family ranch in Hamilton, Montana.

“It’s called flirting,” a voice said from behind us. Ryan rolled his eyes when he looked past me to see Mindy Reynolds standing there. She walked around and slid onto the barstool next to me.

“Come on, Mindy. Don’t sit there,” he said.

Mindy raised one perfectly arched brow as she glared at Ryan. “And why not?”

He replied, “Because if you sit there, then no women will come over to talk to us.”

She let out a fake laugh. “Trust me,” she said as she hit the tip of Ryan’s cowboy hat, “they won’t pay any attention to little ol’ me sitting here with the two of you. You both ooze handsome cowboy.”

“That’s not true, Mindy.” I took a sip of my beer and set it back down. “You’re a very attractive woman, and either of us would be lucky to be with you.”

Ryan gagged while Mindy dropped her head back and let out a true laugh. She looked at me and pointed.

“That is why you have no problem getting woman, Blayze Shaw. Since the first day I met you in kindergarten, you’ve known how to flirt and make a woman feel wanted. Not the stupid, low, degrading flirting like some do.” Mindy shot a look in Ryan’s direction. He snarled his lip and gave her the middle finger. “But genuine, make-a-woman-feel-special flirting. My guess would be you’ve never had a woman tell you no before.”

An image of a beautiful young girl with golden brown hair and eyes the color of a spring meadow flashed through my mind.

Georgiana. The one girl I had let myself fall for, and the only woman who’d broken my heart and had made me vow to never give it to anyone again. Okay, I was sixteen, almost seventeen, when I made that vow, but I’d yet to meet a woman who made me want to break it.

Chuckling, I answered Mindy before I got lost in thoughts of Georgie. “Oh, I’ve had plenty of women tell me no.”

“But only after you nearly charmed the panties off of them, am I correct?” Mindy winked.

Lifting my beer up to my mouth, I smiled.

At that very moment, two women walked up to the table. A blonde and a redhead. The redhead looked at me and smiled. “I’m sorry to bug you, but I think you’re in one of my classes.”

Mindy made some sort of snort-laugh sound next to me. I ignored her and smiled at the redhead. Her eyes locked on the dimple on the right side of my cheek. What was it about a dimple that got a woman turned on?

With a wink in her direction, I replied, “I’m pretty sure I’d remember a stunning woman such as yourself in one of my classes.”

Her cheeks flushed and she glanced at her friend, who was staring at Ryan. He wasn’t bad on the eyes either. Light brown hair with eyes nearly the same color. He was built like me, though a bit taller and with a smile that had melted his own fair share of panties, from what I’d been told. Including Mindy’s, our junior year of high school. That was something they both vowed to never talk about again.

The redhead cleared her throat. “You’re not in Professor McNullen’s finance class, are you?”
