What male would be interested in a vegan werewolf?
Heather resigned herself to life without a mate. She's always been a freak, unable to fit into either the human or shifter world.
When her broken family joins a new pack, she's suspicious and reluctant to accept her new fate. When David starts showing interest in her, it's hard for her to believe his feelings are genuine. She tries to give him the cold shoulder ... until she goes into heat.
David strikes out time and time again with Heather. The new female in their pack refuses to acknowledge they are meant to be together. He's not one to give up hope, determined to win over the curvy vegan wolf at any cost. When the mating heat takes hold of Heather, he's the only one who can satisfy her. He's ready to give her exactly what she craves, but he wants more than just her body.
When Heather runs into danger, will she accept David's help or sacrifice her own life?
Her wolf lurked right under the surface, and it was when she felt the loss of her family the most. Caleb and Bethany’s pack were wonderful. They were her new family, but it hadn’t been that long ago when she’d lost her own. Their loss was still too fresh and raw to truly move on.

Some nights she found herself lying awake at night, shaking, sweaty, terrified. The memory of her father’s cries filling the air would stay with her forever. Haunt her. He’d been such a strong man but even he hadn’t been able to combat the rogue bear that had set about a path of destruction. Wrapping her arms around her body, she tried to ward off the cold.

At the peak of the full moon, they’d all be out in their second form, running, hunting. Her veganism still continued during the hunt. While the rest of the pack hunted rabbits, deer, or whatever animal they could catch, she’d often spend her time running. Stretching out her body so when the moon was gone, she didn’t have to worry about her beast coming to the surface.

“You’re out here all alone again,” Mika said. Her sister came and stood beside her.

“What’s wrong with being out here?”

“Why are you and David avoiding each other?”

“I don’t know what you mean.” The moment she’d met David, she’d felt this spark, this connection. She wasn’t entirely sure what it was, and anything new in her life tended to freak her out. She struggled with adapting, especially in the ever-changing human world. Where her sister had been able to look at change and make it her bitch, she couldn’t do it. Panic attacks, fits of rage, and sometimes standing still, unable to breathe were the ways she’d coped. It had gotten so bad when her parents had enrolled her in public school, they had no choice but to remove her. They said she was more feral than human, a curse in their day and age. Adaption was key and she didn’t blend in well.

It was why she tried to live her life finding balance in order to accept change. She couldn’t go to high school, but she’d been able to venture into shops or malls for a short time. Not long, a couple of minutes, and then she’d leave. Baby steps.

Her parents had been helping her to adapt, only for them to be killed during this process. She was thankful her uncle and her sister knew how bad she suffered with change and had helped her to avoid it every step of the way. Only there had been many new changes recently. Not all of them good. New pack, check. New people, check. New place to live, check. New sets of rules, check. All of it new. It was why she couldn’t sleep. Why the full moon terrified her.

The new pack was aware of her being a vegan and when that had made the rounds one night at dinner, the questions they’d bombarded her with had nearly overwhelmed her. If it hadn’t been for her sister and uncle, she’d have run and never come back. But running away only offered its own set of problems.

“Of course, you don’t know what I mean. We’ve all been avoiding the topic of you possibly being David’s mate. It’s starting to get old, Heather.”

“I’m not his mate. There. Does that make you feel better?” Even as she spoke the words, she felt they were a lie. Her mother had once told her when she found the one, she’d know. There would be no room for second-guessing.

If she was honest with herself, she knew damn well he was the one—her fated mate.

The permanence, the surety of that fact, suffocated her. It would be yet another change in a long list, and she didn’t want to deal with that right now.

David was sweet, kind, and strong. He had this … thing where he liked to watch her, which freaked her out. She wasn’t used to being the center of attention.

Mika moaned. “I can feel it, you know. It’s so warm.”

“I’m freezing cold,” she said.

Her sister frowned and wrapped her arms around her. “It’s okay. It’s not that warm.”

Heather smiled. “You’re as worried as I am. When a wolf starts to feel the cold and the moon scares the living crap out of her, it means she’s rejecting her pack, doesn’t it?”

“No. Of course it doesn’t just mean that,” Mika said. “It could mean anything. Why haven’t you told Uncle this?”

“I don’t want to worry him. He’s been so focused on making this work. He’ll feel obligated to leave or I’ll end up pushing him into a decision to kick me out. I’m fine.” The truth was she wasn’t fine. With everything happening around her, she didn’t want to be without a pack. It was a miracle they’d been accepted into a new pack at all.
Bethany’s used to being invisible to men … until Caleb walks into her diner.
He’s nothing like the other woodsmen in their small town—he’s solid muscle and has an intensity in his eyes that takes her breath away. And for some reason he believes they’re meant for each other. Who is she to complain?
Caleb nearly gave up on the mating call. After turning forty without a mate, Bethany’s scent takes him by surprise. Now he has to convince a human to believe in werewolves while battling an encroaching bear sleuth with his pack. First he has to brush up on human dating customs, which isn’t easy for a man who’s spent most of his life as a wolf.
Once Caleb claims his woman, the other men in his pack are free to find their own mates. It sounds simple enough, but convincing the curvy waitress he wants her for more than one night proves more difficult than he expected.

“Really? The guy would rather spend the entire day cutting logs than finding a woman,” David said.

“We’ve got to do something. It’s not healthy for a man to go without a woman. I mean, how does he not want to have a woman he can fuck and fill with his babies? I know I want it,” Brian said.

Caleb heard his men and knew they were desperate for him to find a mate. The curse of the wolf meant only the alpha could find a mate first. Until then, the pack had to wait to find their true mates and live happily ever after. It also meant they couldn’t have babies. To a wolf, an heir was everything. All of his men were desperate to mate, to breed. Not that he blamed them. He got it, he really did.

Having a woman was high on his list once upon a time, now, he just wanted to continue cutting his wood and not living in a land of fairy tales. He’d hit the big forty not long ago. Wouldn’t he have found his chosen mate by now? Caleb was tired of wolf lore and the idea that one perfect woman was out there for him.

After lifting his axe, he brought it down on the wood and it came apart. He didn’t need the axe. With his unique strength alone, he could go around tearing pieces in half, but then he wouldn’t be able to feel normal.

He was a strong wolf, but for some odd reason, the fates had decided to grant him an even bigger burden. According to the gossip, he was a monster, an abomination because of his sheer size and strength.

In his old pack, he was feared, even when there was no reason to. He’d been a large child, strong even before his transition. The moment he first turned into a wolf, everything had changed.

Within two months, his alpha had cast him out. He’d deemed him too much of a risk. For such a young alpha, he wouldn’t know how to properly manage a large pack. Of course, he’d been frightened. Eighteen years old, alone, and lost in the world. There hadn’t been anyone to care for him, to help him understand all the hungry cravings. From food to sex and everything in between. After two years of living from town to town, doing odd jobs, trying to curb all of his cravings, he’d finally been able to be free. Only this didn’t always feel like freedom.

There were times he couldn’t believe that had happened twenty years ago.

Finishing with the wood, he turned to the three men at his back. They should be paroling the perimeter. Rumors were flying that bears were making an advance on all wolf packs. He’d yet to encounter a bear nearby. He’d dealt with a coyote who lived a few miles down-stream, a rather pleasant man, even if he was a little eccentric, constantly talking to himself. He liked him.

“Are you girls finished watching?”

“We’ve heard of a storm coming, Alpha,” Reese said. “We need to head into town for supplies.”

There was no storm. “You mean head into town where all the females are. You’re hoping I’ll take a chance with one of them.”

“What harm would it do?” David asked.

“I’ve been to town many times. I’m telling you there’s no female destined to be mine. This is getting old.” He also didn’t want to delve into all the trouble women could cause. He wasn’t in the mood, not today. Was he growing old and bitter? He didn’t give a fuck.

“New women are arriving daily,” Brian said. “The old town is growing.”

“You’re kidding, right?”

“Come on, let us help you.”

He couldn’t criticize them and their need to find a woman of their own. They also wanted to have children. He was constantly holding them back. In their view, he was punishing the entire pack by not mating. But it wasn’t about choosing just any woman, it was about finding his fated mate.

“Fine, fine,” he said. There was no harm in giving his men what they wanted.

He placed the axe next to the tree stump and pulled off his gloves.

“Are you going to change?”

“Not a chance,” said Caleb.

“But you’re dirty.”

“Then the woman who’s going to be mine better get used to me being dirty. I’m not changing, not for anyone.”

He walked into the house, well, it was more than a house. This place had ten different rooms. He took the master bedroom on the top floor with the amazing view while his pack had their own rooms. They were a small group but fierce nonetheless. He hoped their pack would have grown by now, but four was still fine by him.

In their own way, they were all outsiders. All outcasts and drawn together to bring one new pack together.
