Luca Cross invests in land and sells when the price is hot. His days are filled with one city after another while trying to live his best life in between. Going to his sister’s wedding was supposed to be one of those fun times – a well-earned break between business deals. What actually happened changed everything.

Selma Starnes was killing herself for a job she hated until she finally said enough. After seeing her brother Bastian give it all up for the woman he loved, she knew her life needed to change. Their wedding was supposed to be the perfect day…but fate had other plans.

Warning: Did they eat wedding cake and fall madly in love? That’s the only logical explanation! Grab Book 3 in the Pink Springs Series and find out just how hard this playboy falls!

Books in Series:

Pink Springs Series by Alexa Riley

Books by Author:

Alexa Riley

1

Selma

“What’s your poison?” the bartender at the wedding reception asks with a smirk. He’s got a nice smile with full lips and perfectly straight teeth. Everything about him is put together, and I bet he gets laid all the damn time at these weddings. It must be like fish in a barrel for him.

“Can you make a good old-fashioned?” That charming smile of his only grows bigger, and it’s irritating me.

“I do everything good, sweetheart.” He winks before he starts to make my drink, and I have to bite the inside of my cheek so I don’t tell him I’m not his sweetheart.

I turn around so he doesn’t see me roll my eyes as I lean up against the bar. He did enough staring down the front of my dress for one night. I love my new sister-in-law Lux, so that's why I’m keeping my mouth shut about this bridesmaid dress. Strapless is damn hard when you have a chest as big as mine. I’ve always worn clothes to hide my boobs, especially when working with a bunch of old men with grabby hands and lingering eyes. I only recently convinced Lux that I like her, because I know I can be a bit standoffish. So when it came to the style of the dress, I kept my mouth sealed, knowing I could handle it for one night.

No matter how many times I tell myself to think before I speak I don’t. I’m honestly not trying to make sure people stay out of arm's reach, it just happens that way. I should give myself a pat on the back for not snapping at the pretty-boy bartender.

For so long I didn’t really have to worry about being harsh or off-putting. I had Bastian, and we’ve always worked as a team. He’s the nice relatable one that can talk to anyone in a room. I prefer to keep my head down and work while he handles the people. I make sure everything is always on track—well, at least I used to.

Bastian has always been a good man, but Lux made him something more. He and I both got lost in our jobs after we lost our mom. It was easier to keep busy than to have to face the grief. But the problem is, I’m no longer busy, and he’s got Lux.

Bastian went off and quit, which was the right thing to do, after finally realizing he was working himself into an early grave for a company that didn’t give a shit about him. Now the place is going to crumble without him, and neither of us has crazy work hours anymore. All his time is being spent with his new wife, and family means everything to the both of them. We all have that in common, but now I’m stuck in this weird limbo of not having anything to do.

The plan is to open up our own office since we already have clients banging down the door. Along with the wedding, we’re supposed to be taking a much-needed break before we jump back into that. The problem is I don’t need a break. I need something to do before I go out of my mind sitting inside my condo alone with Thor. He’s enjoying all my extra time at home because it means more belly rubs for him.

“Here you go.” I turn back around as the bartender places my drink in front of me. “Anything else I can get you, sweetheart?”

“Selma,” I correct him. Damn it, why did I tell him my name?

“Selma?” he repeats. “You don’t look like a Selma.” Is he really trying to flirt with me?

“And what does a Selma look like?” I pick up my drink and take a sip. He’s right, he does make a good old-fashioned, but I’m not about to tell him.

“Gray-haired and in sequins. You’re far from that, sweetheart.” I open my mouth, but before I can get a word out, an arm touches my elbow.

“Are you being good?” Bastian lifts an eyebrow, and at the sight of my brother, the bartender makes himself busy.

“I think so.” I shrug and take another sip of my drink. “I’m not going to hurt anyone.” I give him my sweetest smile, and Bastian lets out a deep chuckle.

“Go be with your bride,” I tell him.

“We have a dance later,” he reminds me.

“Wouldn’t miss it for anything.”

He drops a kiss on the top of my head before he goes right back to Lux’s side. In all my life I’ve never seen a love as deep and sweet as theirs. For the first time in my life I found myself longing for a connection like theirs.

Even Lux and her best friend Juno are super close to each other. They have a bond I’ve never formed with anyone before, and I wonder if I’m broken. I should be dating, and I should have a best friend. I’ve never had a girls’ night out or been to a slumber party. Do they have dating apps for friends? Then again, every man I’ve met though the Love Connection app has been a major bust.
Juno Folke stands out in Pink Springs, but that hasn’t stopped the whole town from falling in love with her. Well, everyone except the grouchy Sheriff Cooper Cross. Her best friend’s brother is off limits, but it’s not as if he’s knocking down her door. In such a small town, she can’t help but keep running into him. She just wishes he would stop haunting her fantasies.

Cooper Cross came back to take care of his little sister, but now that she’s moved to the big city and is getting married, it’s time for him to start living a life of his own. Pink Springs is his home and he never plans on leaving, even if the woman that’s driving him crazy hasn’t put down any roots. It’s a bad idea to get involved with someone that could cut and run at any moment, even if that same woman makes his body weak with need. He can’t cage something so wild and free, but could he convince her to stay a while?

Warning: Book 2 is even better than the one before! But you should absolutely read it and see for yourself! Can this perfect Hometown Hero find his match with the woman that can’t be tamed? You betcha!
I’ve been tossing and turning for the past hour and it’s all his fault. Cooper Cross is my best friend's older brother, and he’s invaded too many of my thoughts since he came back to town. Now he’s invading my dreams, and there’s no escaping him.

When I moved back to the small town of Pink Springs, Lux and I became best friends instantly. I was so sure I was going to hate it here because it was so isolated. Before moving to the middle of nowhere I bounced between boarding schools and the city. Both of my parents were high-powered attorneys and the life they had was fast-paced. I was pushed into school early in life, and there wasn’t time to get to know them before everything changed.

In the blink of an eye they were gone, and even now it’s hard to believe they died together in a plane crash. It took a while for me to come to terms with it, and Lux helped. When I showed up in Pink Springs to live with my grandmother, she shined light into my dark world. Now I’ve been doing the same for her since she lost her father.

I close my eyes when I hear the bedroom door open. My heart begins to race in my chest because I know it’s Cooper. He is the only other person in this house besides Lux, and she’s fast asleep next to me. Luca is out tonight, which is typical for him.

I’d never met Cooper until recently when he came back home after their dad passed away. He came back with the specific purpose to look after Lux, and now he’s the town sheriff, and everyone adores him. I had a crush on him before he even knew I existed. I saw photos of him around the house years ago when Lux invited me over for the first time.

I thought he was the handsomest man I’d ever seen until I came face to face with him. Somehow he was hotter in person and was much bigger than his older pictures. I suppose being a SEAL could do that to anyone, but Cooper is insane to look at.

After a long moment, I hear the door close again, and I kick off the covers. As quietly as I can, I sit up on the side of the bed. Cooper is going to lose his mind when he finds out what Lux has planned tomorrow, and to be honest, I’m kind of losing my mind over it too.

I know she’s only moving a few hours away, but it’s going to be hard not having her around all the time. She tried to get me to go to the city with her, but I left that life behind. Once I’d gotten to Pink Springs, my eyes were opened to a whole new world, one that I want for the long haul.

People here generally care about each other, and family actually means something in this town. It makes me long for a family of my own, but the problem is my crush on the town sheriff isn’t helping me to make that dream come true. Not to mention because I’m Lux’s best friend I’m included in the blanket rule in town to keep the opposite sex away from us. Her two brothers are not messing around when it comes to her, and that’s something else I’ve always longed for. Someone to truly look after me.

When I get out of bed, I make my way quietly to the kitchen. Once I’m there, I grab a glass of water and lean up against the counter as I gulp it down. It’s going to be strange not coming over here all the time because Lux and I are pretty much inseparable. I suppose if it gets too hard I could follow after her. It’s not like anything here is holding me back except myself.

The lights in the kitchen flicker on, and the glass drops out of my hand from surprise. The shatter isn’t loud, but glass goes everywhere, and I stand there frozen. Cooper is across from me, wearing nothing but a pair of gray sweatpants. Every inch of him is on display, and I’m seeing tattoos I didn’t know he had.

“Fuck,” Cooper barks. “Don’t move your ass one step,” he orders.

I’m not sure I could if I tried because I’m still in shock. Cooper and I don’t really talk much. He comes into the diner where I work a lot, so I hear him talk to others. But in all that time I’ve never heard him talk like that before.

“I’m sorry,” I say when he comes back with a broom.

“Shit, you’re bleeding.”

He props the broom against the counter, and his hands go to my hips. He lifts me off my feet, and I bite the inside of my cheek as his strong hands grip me. He places me on the kitchen counter and barks another order for me not to move as he silently cleans up the glass.
Lux is ready to leave Pink Springs and spread her wings, but when she winds up in the big city squeezed into a bunny costume, things are definitely not going to plan. One little hop into the arms of a stranger changes everything, and suddenly this small-town girl is feeling right at home.

Bastian’s path to success doesn’t include a detour, especially one that falls into his lap. What’s he to do when a cute little bunny makes a home in his heart? Simple: love her forever.

Warning: Welcome to Book 1 in the Pink Springs Series! It’s just as adorable as it sounds.
I should have accounted for this, but I’m always late. It’s a terrible habit, but I could have worse ones. It doesn't matter how hard I try, time always gets away from me and then it’s a mad dash. It’s really going to bite me in the butt today if my brother makes it back home before I’m long gone.

I tape up another box quickly then carry it outside and put it in the back of my little blue Beetle. I got it for my eighteenth birthday, but my brothers never would have given me this car if they knew what I was up to. If it was up to them I’d stay right here forever and become a spinster. I do a kickass cross stitch, but that's not all I want from life.

My phone starts buzzing like crazy in my pocket, and when I pull it out I drop it on the concrete driveway. I let out a sigh of relief when I see the screen is fine. That is until I see why my phone is going off in the first place.

There are twenty texts one after another saying CODE RED! I’VE BEEN MADE! Of course she was made! I never should have believed Juno could keep tabs on my brother. He’s the town sheriff and she’s running around with pink hair this week. She’s unmissable.

I hear him before I see him as his SUV comes down the long gravel driveway. I run back into the house and grab a few more boxes and try to get them into the car before he gets here. Without realizing it, I misjudge the last step and hit the ground. Both boxes go flying. One bursts open, and clothes go tumbling out. Of course it’s the box with my underwear.

Cooper parks his car, making sure it blocks me in. I fold my arms over my chest, ready for a throw-down as he gets out of the SUV. He tosses his sunglasses back in before slamming the door.

“You know that’s the town’s property. You should take better care of it,” I say and then smirk at him.

This town would let him set his sheriff’s vehicle on fire in the middle of a parade and no one would care. They’d probably cheer him on and declare that day a holiday. As always when I’m pushing back against him, he ignores me.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” He walks around my vehicle in full cop mode. He looks through all of the windows and my trunk. My brother can be intimidating to most since he’s well over six foot tall and built like one of those football players they’re always yelling at on TV.

“I put all my drugs in your room.” He gives me a hard glare, not thinking I’m funny. Juno would laugh. Cooper is as straight-laced as they come. He was a SEAL before coming back home after we lost Dad. I was sixteen at the time. Instead of having me go stay with my aunt, he moved back into our childhood home and quickly settled into being the sheriff here.

“I’m not playing games with you, Lux.”

I roll my eyes at him. “I’m twenty. I can do as I please. Now be a good big brother and help me with the last three boxes I have.” I motion toward the front door.

“And where do you think you’re taking these boxes?”

“To the city. I got myself a place.” I try to say it with confidence.

“The city?” His jaw hardens.

“Yes, I need space.” I throw my arms open. “As much as I love Pink Springs, it’s time for something else.”

“What’s wrong with it here?” He actually looks insulted.

“Hey, you did the same thing when you went into the Navy,” I point out.

It was hard when he left. I was only about ten at the time. My other brother Mitch took it even harder because they were so close. Luckily the next year Juno moved to town, giving me someone to hang on to. I love my brothers more than anything, but I’m going to miss her the most. She knows I have to do this, even if it’s going to be hard being apart.

He stands there for a long second, and the reality of what’s happening settles in. At the end of the day he can’t truly stop me. He could, however, lay a major guilt trip on me. I know this is what I need because something is calling me, and it has been for a while. I can’t fight the pull any longer.

“What’s your plan?” he asks, still hedging his emotions.

“I’ve been saving all my tips from the diner. I’ve got a nice nest egg until I can find a job.” It was easy to save up since my brothers took care of most everything at home. I need to grow up at some point, and I’m sure they want to live their own lives soon enough. Maybe even get married and start families of their own.
