Breaker wanted everything his parents had.
He wanted the chance to prove he could be the man his stepfather always was to him.
He had given up hope of ever claiming that for his own.

Then he lost everything.
Can one woman and her daughter give it all back?

Full synopsis to be revealed.

Standalone Novel.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Indy

I came to the Maggie Valley area to start over with my daughter, Tinsley, to start over. We needed a fresh start, and that meant not being in the same state as my douchebag ex. I wanted my daughter to have the best I could give her. I also wanted to settle somewhere that moved at a much slower pace than Fort Wayne. When my grandmother was alive, my parents would take me to Kentucky to visit her. She lived almost in North Carolina. When I discovered Maggie Valley, I instantly fell in love, so I decided to relocate here.

It seemed perfect, and it was … until the Feral Kings MC took over the old amusement-turned zipline-park, Ghost Town in the Sky. In the blink of an eye, my peaceful refuge was being destroyed. There also wasn’t much I could do about it. I kept my head down and only ventured into town when I had to. I ran my business as best as I could, while trying to save money to move the hell out of dodge. It may seem like a lame plan, but it’s all I could do.

Sadly, today is one of those days that I had to venture into Bryson City. It was actually for a wonderful reason. I served as a witness for Phillip and Max’s wedding. I was so happy for them, even if I didn’t understand their choice of venues. I mean, we’re steps away from the Smoky Mountains, yet those two bozos decide to get married at the local courthouse. Still, for what it was, it was a beautiful wedding, and my two friends are extremely happy.

Now, I’m heading back home. I’m also running late. I still need to check on my animals and get some things done in my office before Tinny gets off the school bus. I took a back road, hoping not to see anyone. It’s also shadier than most areas, which is nice because it’s miserable outside today. The heat is suffocating, and it’s so humid that my blonde hair is trying to poof up—which sucks because it took me an hour to straighten out my curls. I love my hair and hate it at the same time. Some days I want to shave it off and let it start over to see if it grows back being more manageable. It doesn’t help matters that my air conditioner isn’t working. I have the windows down, but that seems to let more heat in than actually help. If I can ever get my head above water and pay off my student loans, I’d move out of this place. That’s not happening anytime soon. No one wants to move to a town that lives in fear.

As if taking their cue from my thoughts, I hear the racking of pipes and the loud roar of motorcycles. I look in the review mirror and see a couple of members from the Feral MC coming up fast behind me. I try not to panic. Most days, I’m normally in my truck. I keep a shotgun in it. Today, I have nothing. Which leaves me defenseless and vulnerable. To make matters worse, this road doesn’t get a lot of traffic at all. It’s why I chose it, thinking it would be safer.

My heart runs away with me as they get right behind me, then move alongside my car. I try to keep my gaze on the road, but they stay right beside me for so long, I can’t help but look. One of them grins, giving a cocky wave as he goes ahead of me. However, he’s staying at a slow speed. I know this is to keep me from going faster and getting away. When my gaze turns to the other guy. He uses his left hand to hold his thumb up and his index finger out—making the shape of a gun. He aims right between my eyes and makes a shooting motion, before flicking his wrist up and pointing up, blowing on his finger.

The message is clear, and it terrifies me. I slow down even more, and with a laugh that I can’t hear over the bike, he takes off, the other guy joining him. My heart is slamming against my chest as I decide to pull over. I shut my car off, lock the door and crouch down out of view. I want to give those assholes time to get out of the area. I don’t want to be anywhere near them. I’m going to have to get a handgun and keep it in my glove box. I hate to. I don’t like keeping guns around Tinny. Today could have been a disaster, though. I need to keep myself safe for my daughter. Thanks to her so-called father’s dumb life choices, I’m all she has.
With one taste of her lips,
He was a marked man.

Joker knows he’s different from the other men in his club.
He rarely smiles. He’s quiet and most could call him cold and calculated.
He prides himself on the fact that he lets nothing get to him.
Besides, as a member of the Savage Brothers MC, you have to stay focused.
That’s his strong point—or it was.
Skylar Kane is the one person who can send him for a loop.
Joker has no business wanting the curvy blonde. She’s destined for big things.
There’s no way she should hitch her wagon to man like him.
After one forbidden taste of her he ran away fast.
He didn’t look back—or at least he tried not to.

When the club goes to war, he’s charged with guarding Skylar.
Being anywhere near her is a danger to his sanity--not to mention the chokehold he tries to keep on his self control when around Skylar.
Still, he accepts the job, because she has always been his to protect.
The only problem is, who is going to protect her from him?

*Standalone Romance

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter 1

Joker

Three Years Ago

Damn, I’m tired. Ever since I signed on as a prospect for the Savage Brothers, I’ve been doing grunt work constantly. Today I helped the other prospects build a stage and a pergola for outside of the compound. Dragon’s woman and some of the other old ladies, wanted a set up for concerts and get-togethers at the club. I may have only been here a month, but I’m learning quick that Dragon might be a scary motherfucker, but he’ll give his old lady, Nicole, anything and everything she wants.

In a way, I’m a little envious of that. It’s the kind of relationship I’ve always wanted—yet never thought existed. Now that I know it does, I don’t want to settle for less. Maybe it’s overreaching and I don’t deserve it. It’s not like I had it growing up. I’ve spent most of my time in a juvenile detention center. When I got too old for that, I lived on the streets until I could get enough cash together for a shit-hole apartment. The man I am now, is self-made. I didn’t have anyone to lean on. My mother was a bitch, and I never met my father. I don’t even know his name, so I figure I never will. It doesn’t really bother me. I’m fine being self-sufficient.

Until I found my way into the Savage Brothers, I didn’t think I’d ever depend on anyone. Now, I look around and see the brotherhood this club shares and the relationships like Dragon and Nicole, Dancer and Carrie, and Bull and Doc and I know that’s what I want. That’s why even though my back is killing me, I’m happy being here. Until I found the club and this town, I don’t think I’ve ever known the feeling of contentment.

I take a drag of my cigarette and lean against the wooden siding of the Wolf’s Den. The club owns this bar, and it’s the main place we all meet up—outside our clubhouse. My brothers are all inside, unwinding after a hard day. I was too, but I just needed a break. I may be happy in the club, but I want more. I want more than I’m probably entitled to. Still, when I watched our Prez, Dragon, pull Nicole onto his lap tonight. I knew that it was exactly what I wanted.

“Kyla, stop,” a boy yells out.

I turn my gaze toward the corner. The voice is coming from the back of the building. It irritates me because the silence I had sought is interrupted.

“I told you to stop calling me that,” a chick hisses back at him. I turn the corner enough to get a better look at the arguing duo.

Suddenly, they have my full attention. He’s talking to a sexy woman in worn blue jeans, cowboy boots, and an indigo V-neck T-shirt that hugs the prettiest tits I’ve laid eyes on. I flex my hands into a fist, because they’re itching to rip her clothes from her body to see those pretties up close and personal—with nothing in the way.

“Don’t be like that. She didn’t mean shit to me.”

“Is it supposed to make me feel better to know that you threw me away for a bitch who didn’t mean anything? I hope your dick falls off after sticking it into that skank,” she growls, and my lips jerk up in a grin.

“I wouldn’t have given her the time of day if you’d opened your damn legs for me. Fuck, Kyla, we’ve been dating for six months. You’ve barely let me feel your damned tits. What did you think I was going to do? A man can only use his hand for so long. You can’t go acting like a bitch over it now.”

“A real man knows when a woman is worth the wait. You’re a boy playing at being a man. You make me sick. Get the fuck out of here and leave me alone. I’m waiting for Mattie, and I think we both know you don’t want to be here when he shows up.”

“Don’t you ever get tired of hiding behind that idiot?” the guy growls.

“Not if it keeps me away from assholes like you. Maybe I should let him know that you just called him an idiot,” she laughs.

I didn’t realize that I was walking closer to them until I’m pitching my cigarette across the parking lot. I can’t explain why, either. It’s almost as if an invisible force is propelling me in that direction. I don’t question it, though. I’m even glad to be doing it when I see the son of a bitch—who is a good six inches taller than her small frame—push her. She stumbles and falls back, her ass hitting the graveled area beneath her. He stands over her, his face red.

“You bitch!”

I move in, grab the son of a bitch by the back of his neck, and toss him away from her. He sails in the air behind me as I turn to look at the gorgeous, curvy, red head. She’s even better up close. Her skin is a little darker than most women with red hair that I’ve been around, but still pale. It’s more golden though. For some reason, those shaved ice drinks of peaches and cream come to mind. They used to serve them to us in the detention center after we’d worked out in the heat all day. I thought they tasted like heaven. I bet this woman would taste even better. Just looking at her skin begs a man to put his lips on her and kiss every inch.
Being a member of a club means laying your life on the line.
Because in the end, we’re family—
and Family is everything.

KING:

Life has gone to hell.
I thought I had things locked down.
I put away my need for revenge on my sperm donor.
I had a woman and plans to build the family that I had been denied my whole life.
I should have known things never go according to plans.
Not for me. It’s just not the life I was meant to lead.
Still, when my brother’s mom was kidnapped, I step up to the plate.
I put everything on the line to help, and in the process, forged relationships that I’m not even sure I want.
When push comes to shove, however, I will need them more than I ever could have imagined.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter 1

Nicole

I wake up, feeling like a ton of bricks has fallen on me. Immediately, I feel the pain hit me from head to toe. It’s so bad that I’m afraid to open my eyes. I rub my forehead, hoping to relieve the throbbing pressure I feel in my head. It’s worse than a migraine. Much worse.

“Nicole, wake up. You have to wake up.”

I hear the whispering close to my ear and that’s when I feel the tight grip on my other hand. Whoever it is has their hand so tight on mine that it wouldn’t surprise me if my circulation was cut off. They’re also trembling. I can feel it. The tremors are so intense that it’s jarring my body and I whimper in pain.

What is wrong with me?

I try to open my eyes, but they feel so heavy. The urge to give up and let the blackness claim me again is so strong that it is almost impossible to resist. The hold on my hand becomes completely panicked, shaking my hand back and forth.

“Nicole! Wake up! They’re coming back soon!”

Who’s coming back?

I can’t manage to verbalize any words. I try to move my head and a hum comes across my lips. The fact I can produce any sound makes me extremely happy. I can’t figure out what’s going on.

“Nicole, please. We have to get out of here.”

“Gabby?” I manage to say, my mouth so dry that I have to work to make my tongue to move.

“Oh, thank God. Nicole, they drugged you with something on a cloth because you wouldn’t quit fighting.”

“If you had helped me, we might have gotten free,” I mumble, as everything that has happened comes back to me.

“I tried. I swear I did. He … he … I couldn’t get away from him. I don’t want him near me again. You have to help me find a way out of here.”

“Where are we?”

“I don’t know. They turned onto State Road 30. We drove for over an hour.”

“Who are they?”

“The guy who tried to … Who held me had an MC cut on. Something or other Kings.”

“Feral Kings?”

“I’m not sure, maybe. I was mostly terrified. Do you think they know who you are?” Gabby asks, and as I struggle to sit up, she helps. It’s then I notice we’re on a concrete floor that has been tiled over. The tiles are really old and in pretty bad shape. There’s a mattress in the corner that has definitely seen better days.

If it didn’t hurt so much, I’d roll my eyes. “Gabby, they attacked us in the middle of my husband’s territory. They took us over the fifty or so other people outside on the streets. They saw my son who wore a club cut and was shooting. Of course, they know who we are.”

“I know you don’t like me, but you don’t have to treat me like I’m stupid. I was just thinking they may have taken us because we were standing close to Dom—not that they know our names.”

As annoyed as I am with her, I can see her point.

“Sorry, being kidnapped and drugged has a bad effect on me.”

“I wish I had been drugged,” she murmurs, holding her head down.

I study her for a minute, not liking what I’m seeing. “Did something happen while I was out of it Gabby?”

“It’s not important. We just need to figure a way out of here before they come back.”

“That might be impossible,” I mutter with a sigh.

“We can’t stay here, Nicole,” she argues.

“We may not have a choice, Gabby. At least not until Dragon and your father come after us.”

“You think they will be here soon?”

“With guns blazing. We just have to survive until then.”

“That might be easier said than done,” Gabby huffs. She wraps her arms around her body and looks around the cold, depressing room.

“We don’t have a choice,” I murmured, refusing to let the fear that I feel boil up inside of me. I have to contain it. I have no idea how I’m going to make Gabby listen to me, but I need to figure it out, and soon. Our lives are going to depend on the both of us keeping our heads straight and working together to survive this situation. Dragon will come for me. I know that with everything in me.

I just don’t know how long it will take him to get here …

Chapter 2

Dragon

“I’m not waiting!” I snarl at Ford. He has no idea what a twisted, sadistic bunch the Feral Kings MC is.

“I have a man on the inside, Dragon. If there’s hope of getting your woman, it’s him that will and can do it. If you go barging in now, you will do more harm than good,” Ford argues.

“A man on the inside? One man against the rest of them? If you think that will save my fucking woman, you’re insane. Eyeball is a fucking lunatic. I don’t want him breathing the same air as my woman!”
His mistakes kept piling up.
They may cost him the one thing he can't live without.

Dom West thought his life was all mapped out.

As the eldest son of Dragon—Savage MC founder and president—Dom’s plan has always been to work himself up in the ranks and take over for his old man.

He knew he would have to prove himself and earn it.

Yet Dom was determined to do it with his brother at his side and the only woman he had ever wanted in his bed.

Gabby.

He couldn’t remember a time when he didn’t love her—when he didn’t know she was the one.

And then, in the blink of an eye, everything changed.

Gabby wasn’t who he thought she was.

His brother is now a member of a rival club.

He has just been passed over for a position in the club he loves and hopes to run one day.

Dom has been drifting, taking hit after hit, and through it all he only had one unlikely ally.

Thea Kane.

She’s off limits. She is his club’s princess, and the sister of his best friend. She also hates him—at least, he always thought she did.

Slowly, she changes from enemy to something more. Something he desperately wants to keep in his life.

Too bad his past is about to destroy his future.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Dom

Thea’s Seventeenth Birthday Party

“What are you doing out here all by yourself?”

Thea jerks up when she hears my voice. Something changes in her expression that I don’t quite catch. That’s nothing new. When it comes to Thea, I never know how to read her. She’s probably the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen in my life. We’re talking drop-dead, fucking gorgeous. Her skin is a soft golden brown, almost light amber. Her eyes seem to be a mixture of silver and blue. I’ve never seen either before and probably never will. She’s lithe, with just enough curves that make you itch to run your hands over them. Her tits aren’t huge, but definitely more than a handful. I have big hands and they’d easily fill them every single fucking time I’d hold them.

Not that I would.

The reasons I can never touch Thea are too numerous to count. I used to remind myself of them when I’d get the itch to go there with her. I mean, it’s not like I’ve lusted after her constantly, but I’m a guy and any guy would have to be insane not to want Thea. She’s beautiful, but it’s more than that. She’s got a spirit inside of her that just makes everything around her more alive. Pure energy—that’s all you can describe her as.

Fuck, I’m in this push and pull thing with Gabby. I swear, I’m in it with that girl. I gave her my vow when she gave me her virginity, and I’m sticking by my word. Besides, for me, it has always been her. Yet, if there was ever going to be someone to make me think twice—maybe three or four times—it would be Thea. That’s why it is a good fucking thing she is who she is…un-fucking-touchable.

Thea is just another reason it’s complicated to be a prospect for the Savage Brothers Motorcycle Club my father is president of. Incidentally, Thea is the eldest daughter of our Club Enforcer, Bull. My mother isn’t happy about my brother and I beginning our journey in the club. She wants us to wait. That’s not happening. I’m old enough and being a part of this club is my destiny. It is all I’ve ever wanted.

I’m not sure my brother feels the same, but where one of us goes, the other follows. It has always been that way and it always will be. My brother Thomas—T for short—is a part of me. The club is who I am. I hope to one day step into my father’s shoes and lead the club. I sure as fuck won’t achieve that if I begin by fucking Bull’s daughter. Club members’ families are off limits. Besides, all Thea and I could have is sex. It’s not possible to ever be more. We’re too different, and like I said, I have a woman.

Maybe.

Jesus, Gabby is working my last nerve. I need to talk to T about her. I know my brother has feelings for her, but she’s promised she told him she could never go there with him and that she loves me. T doesn’t seem to get the message. Gabby and I had a big fight about it yesterday and we’re not really talking today. She made me promise to give her time to talk with T again to let him down gently. She’s worried she is coming between us, so she wants to proceed carefully. I don’t agree with the way she’s handling it, but Jesus, I don’t know shit about this kind of thing. It’s not like I do relationships. There’s only ever been Gabby for me, and we haven’t made that public, so I haven’t dealt with the usual bullshit all my brothers talk about with having a woman. If there’s one thing that I’m thankful about, it’d be that and only that. I hate keeping Gabby a secret and watching other men sniffing around what’s mine. I’ve handled that privately, too. Still, I hate that they even try that shit. I’m ready to claim her.

I just don’t want to hurt T to do it.

T hasn’t had an easy life. Kids constantly made fun of him when we were young because he had a stutter. I stopped it when I could, and T learned to stand up for himself, but I know the damage it has done to him. He’s left feeling less than, and I fucking hate that. He’s completely unsure of himself around women, and that’s just another reason this thing with Gabby between us is hard to navigate.

Still, he’s finally doing better, and I don’t want to hurt the progress he’s made. He barely stutters at all now. I know he loves Gabby, but she loves me. I want her, but I don’t want to hurt my brother. She says she has it handled, and fuck, I’m hoping she does, because I’m about done with this bullshit.
She needs someone to be a hero. She’s getting me.

King has never expected much out of life and for the most part that’s exactly what he’s been given.
Hell, even his name was a joke his mother made. Still, he wore it proudly.
He’s never depended on anyone.
As the newly appointed enforcer of the Demon Chasers MC, he has a lot on his plate.
A rival club has tried to make moves, and it’s King’s job to make sure they regret it.
That’s the only thing he has time for right now.
Besides, he has secrets, and they are intent on ruining his life.

A chance meeting with a beautiful woman stops King in his tracks.
Shelby is everything he never thought he would have.
She has secrets of her own. Secrets that haunt her.
Even when she tries to push him away.
King won’t allow it.
Shelby needs someone to heal the emptiness inside—an emptiness that he understands. It’s going to be him.
He won’t let it be anyone else.
She belongs to him.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter 1

King

Fuck. I never saw this shit coming. The last thing I wanted was to be anywhere near Dragon West and his perfect family. I’ve had so much hate built up for that motherfucker over the years that it oozes out of every damn pore in my skin.

I look back at T’s house and shake my head.

I have two fucking choices. I can stay and put up with this bullshit or I can pack up and leave.

I thought I had decided. I had my crap loaded and was ready to hit the road. Then, Ford made me the DC’s enforcer. That may not sound like shit to some people, but moving up in the club, proving myself, means a fuck of a lot to me. I gave Ford my word, and I’ve always done my best to make sure my word meant something.

The thing is, T is here and as much as I didn’t want to, I like the fucker. I respect him. In some ways I can see parts of myself in him. The two of us might not have had the same struggles, but we fought like hell to overcome every obstacle in our way. I’ve worked alongside Grunt, Jonesy, and Doc for a long time. I even approve of the new prospects Ford’s taken in. I would trust T at my back over any of them. He didn’t hesitate to jump in and save Ford’s life. He didn’t even fucking blink. He didn’t know Ford—not like the rest of us. He did it because that’s the man he is.

Shit, now I feel like I’m at sea, drifting and waiting for something else to start fucking with my head. I dreamed for years about what I would do if I came face to face with the ghosts from my past. I’m finding out dreams and reality are way fucking different.

I hop on my bike and head into town. I need to clear my head and being back on my bike does that for me. It’s the only place I feel free.

That I feel like I can fucking breathe.

There are usually two things besides my bike that make me feel better. Food and fucking. Those are the things that feed the body and the soul. I park up outside of the little brick building right off Main Street.

William’s Diner is a staple in the town. The owner is a petite little stick of dynamite named Billie Mae Patrick. You should never call her Billie Mae though. Unless you want to see the sweet little woman breathe fire. She hates her middle name. I address her by Billie. She fixes good food and I want to keep eating here—that means, the name Mae never passes my lips.

The place is empty when I get inside. That’s not a huge surprise since it’s Saturday and well after the lunch rush. Still, Billie’s not even in her usual spot behind the bar, manning the cash register. The bell above the door jingles as it closes, and I take a spot in the nearest booth. I don’t bother opening a menu that’s secured at the end of the table next to the window. I already know what I want. I glance around the place and it’s reminiscent of an old fifty’s diner. Except the red leather stools and booth seats are green. There are Irish sayings written on the wall with a mural of what I can only assume is some place in Ireland. There are no curtains on the windows. It’s all open, though there is some kind of screen over the windows that deflects the sun without blocking the view.

“What can I get you?”

I jerk my head around because I recognize that voice, and it’s definitely not Billie Mae’s.

“You work here,” I respond, watching her sparkling, river-green eyes dilate.

“Yeah,” she says, moistening her lips, her eyes dropping down.

My cock jerks in reaction against my pants, but that’s exactly what it did the first time I saw this sweet little honey pot.

“Well, fuck me. You’re the nurse from the hospital.”

She blinks. “Yeah,” she finally acknowledges, her lips twitching. “You’re the guy holding up the wall and helping your buddies ignore hospital policy of two to a room at one time.”

“Guilty.” I smirk. “What’s your name?” I ask, my gaze raking over her.

She’s tall, standing a good five-nine. That means she’s perfect to bend over the back of the sofa and fuck hard. Her brunette-not-quite-auburn hair shines even more today than the last time I laid eyes on her. She’s got a body with just enough curves that a man could ride her all day long and get lost in the soft, sweet heat she gives him. Her tits are large enough to wrap your dick in but not so big you’re afraid she’ll give herself a black eye when she’s riding your cock. Perfection, really. There’s not a damn thing I don’t like about her—except that she’s standing here in this diner and not in my bed. At least today she’s wearing tight jeans that are molded and stretched across her perfect ass and a green T-shirt with gold lettering that has the name of the diner across the front. The outfit shows off her body much better than those scrubs but fuck, if I wouldn’t rather see her naked.
We were friends and I crossed a line I never meant to. Now, we’re both forced to deal with the fallout.
Thomas “T” West has struggled his whole life. It was a silent struggle that few understood. It left him content to live in the shadow of his big brother.
Except when they both wanted the same woman. Thomas thought he was finally being chosen first, that his speech impediment didn’t make him less in her eyes. He was wrong. So wrong.
When he saw Lyla, he was nursing wounds that touched his heart, but also his pride. He knew it was a shit thing to do, but he used her. Lyla made him feel normal, like he could do anything, and a man can get addicted to that feeling.
He shouldn’t have taken her to bed. He knew it, but he couldn’t stop.
Lyla Ford fell in love with Thomas almost at once. She knew him as the quiet guy who was good to her and made her feel beautiful. If she had known he was a biker, or why he was truly attracted to her—she would have kicked him in the balls and walked off.
The truth always comes out. Too bad that’s when Lyla found out she was pregnant. Now, her dad is calling for blood.
She doesn’t want a club war. Having her dad’s club go against the Savage MC would be too bloody and she doesn’t want to be the reason for anyone’s death.
That leaves her with only one option. Claim the man she despises as her old man. Claim the man she despises as her old man.
It’s been six weeks without hearing Lyla’s voice or her laugh. I’ve moved back to Kentucky. I decided not to stay at the club. I found an apartment across town. It’s not much, but then again, the place in Virginia was worse. The difference is that I had Lyla’s company there.

She made everything better.

I’ve made a huge mess. I know I have. I handled everything wrong. I wanted to scream for her not to leave, and instead I let her go. The truth is, she deserves better. That doesn’t mean it’s not hurting like hell that she’s gone. I miss her laugh, and the way she’d yawn while trying to convince me she wasn’t sleepy. I miss the way she’d pick the toppings off her pizza, eating them separately before eating the crust. I miss the way she’d get all sappy over movies or scream out when something would scare her and then giggle because she felt silly. Hell, I even miss the way she’d sigh when I’d play with her hair.

Then, there are the things that I miss even more—like how she touched me without even realizing it, or how she said my name and the way the blue in her eyes deepened when I’d say hers. I miss how it felt to snuggle into her late in the night and fuck if I don’t miss the way she smells…

In such a short time, she’s sunk down inside of me, and I ache…wishing she was here.

That’s the only excuse I have as to why I’m picking up my phone to text her. I’ve resisted up until now. It’s one in the morning and she’s probably asleep, but I’ve drank a little too much and I just want to feel her close.

God, I’m a fucking loser.

Me: I’m sorry, Sunflower.

Lyla: That doesn’t really help, Thomas.

Me: I know. I still am, though. I never meant to hurt you. I’m surprised you answered me. I wouldn’t have blamed you if you hadn’t.

Lyla: I wanted to talk to you about something or wouldn’t have. Why did you invite me into your life when you didn't have feelings for me?

Me: I did have feelings. You were my light. I was just in a bad place. You have to understand. I’ve been in love with Gabby for as long as I can remember. Finding out what she had done… I just needed someone to see me, to want me, I guess.

Lyla: So, you used me. I mean, I look like her, so why not, right?

Me: I’ll admit that’s why I came over to you, Sunflower.

Lyla: And that’s when you decided to use me.

Me: Damn it, it wasn’t like that—at least not completely.

Lyla: But you did use me. Admit it.

Me: I guess maybe I did to help me get over the pain of losing her. I know it was a shit thing to do, Sunflower. That’s why I let you go that day. I didn’t want to hurt you. That’s the last thing I wanted. I knew it was best if we just ended things. I didn’t want you to get hurt in all this.

Lyla: Too late. How could you sleep with me in the same bed all this time, Thomas? Then, make love to me if you loved her? How? Was it all just because I looked like her?

Me: Nothing I say is going to make this better.

Lyla: I’ll take that as a yes.

I grimace, looking at my phone. There’s so much I want to say. I want to tell her that nothing about her reminded me of Gabby after I got to know her. I wanted to tell her that she was special and that I miss her. Just her. I know telling her all of that will just hurt her even more, so I let it go. Maybe it’s best for her to think she was just a replacement.

Me: What did you want to talk to me about?

I stare at my phone, but she doesn’t respond…

Lyla

I force myself to look at my phone as it vibrates. I shove my fingers against my face and wipe away the tears. They’re tears that Thomas doesn’t deserve. I can’t seem to stop them, though.

Thomas: What do you want to talk to me about?

I drop my phone back down on the mattress. He doesn’t deserve a reply. There’s no sense telling him my news now. I’m too weak to deal with him anymore. I’ve been in bed for almost a week off and on. Doing too much makes me so sick that I feel like I’m going to die. At first, I thought I might be.

Yesterday, I found out differently. My gaze goes to the small white stick on my nightstand. A pregnancy test… I guess while Thomas was busy imagining he was finally with his beloved Gabby, his fantasy didn’t include wearing protection—not that I can blame him entirely. I’ve been entirely too naïve about everything. I trusted Thomas implicitly. I was a stupid fool.
I should break it off and push her away, but she's just too addicting.
The heart wants what the heart wants, and Thomas West has always wanted Gabby to be his. He didn’t think it would ever happen.
Thomas knew she had feelings for his brother, Dom. Why wouldn’t she? Dom is great. Hell, he lives in awe of his older brother, too.
All the girls fall at his feet and he doesn’t have anything to hold him back.
Thomas isn’t jealous of his older brother, but he does wish things could be easy in his life, too.
Still, he just wants Gabby, and when she seems to give him the green light, Thomas has never been happier. Yet, appearances aren’t always what they seem.
Betrayed, bruised, and broken, Thomas goes off to lick his wounds.
The last thing he expected was to find a woman staring at him with hunger in her eyes—a woman who looks so much like Gabby that, at first, he thought she was.
It was wrong, but it felt good for a woman to want him around for a change--him and not his brother.
Everyone is laughing and having a good time. My sister and her new husband are dancing, and I’ve never seen her happier. I’m glad for her. Kayden deserves every happiness. She truly does.

Immediately, my gaze moves to Gabby. She’s standing out from the dance floor talking to Jazz, and her head is thrown back, her blonde hair falling down her back in waves. She’s laughing, and her complete joy squeezes my heart in my chest.

I have been in love with Gabby since I was a kid. That’s just fact. It has never gone anywhere. I don’t see it ever going anywhere. The thing is…Gabby cares for me, but I’m not blind. She has feelings for my brother. That’s a shot to the gut for sure and probably the reason my brother and I never talk about Gabby to one another. Gabby doesn’t really talk about Dom either. I did ask her about their relationship. It was hard for me. Probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

I almost backed out, but I had to know for sure. I needed to know if I had to prepare myself to see my brother and Gabby together and give up my dreams or if I should press harder to win her heart. She promised that she’s never been anything more than friends with Dom—despite him wanting more. She said he likes her, but she can’t go there knowing that we both care for her. She doesn’t want to be responsible for hurting either one of us. So, in a way, I heard what I needed, but it also kept me from pushing her harder and showing her how deeply I felt. She made me and Dom both off limits, and I needed to accept that.

I haven’t been able to—at least not in my heart.

With Gabby, I’m careful not to show how much I love her. Well, I try to be. Gabby does her best to not talk about Dom when we’re together. Still, I see the way she looks at him when nobody is watching. She loves my brother, but she needs to see that he isn’t the type to settle down with a woman. Once she accepts that, I’ll have a clear shot. That’s what keeps me waiting.

It feels like I’ve been waiting forever.

I know I shouldn’t, but I find myself walking over to where Gabby is. Almost as if she can feel my attention on her, she turns. Surprise shows on her face and maybe a trace of disappointment. Does she wish it was Dom walking to her right now? Probably. I should let that stop me, but I don’t.

“Tom,” she murmurs.

I really hate the name Tom. There are only two people whoever get away with it. My sister Kayden because she can be a bitch and likes to annoy me and Gabby. Over the years, I’ve actually gotten used to it. I even like it when Kayden does it. Gabby? I can accept it. If it was coming out of her lips while she was about to come all over my cock, I have a feeling I’d like it more.

I shake those thoughts from my head. The last thing I need is to be sporting a hard-on when I’m dancing with Gabby.

“Hey,” I respond, my chest tight, my throat dry.

It takes extra concentration, but I do my best not to tense up. Doing that always makes it harder to talk. You see, I stutter. While that might not sound like something that can kill you, trust me when I say, it does a fucking number on you in a million different ways that the average person wouldn’t even think about.

I’ve gone through some fucking dark days. My entire family saw it. It pissed my dad off to the point he could barely talk about it. I took that personally. It felt like he was blaming me for my condition. He never said it, and Mom assured me nothing could be further from the truth—but I felt like he saw me as weak. I know my brother Dom did. He would beat up any asshole that said something to me—as if I couldn’t take up for myself. He’s made it his mission to protect me over the years. I think my biggest shame is that I let him.

I’m not proud of that. I hate it. I can defend myself. I know Dad and Dom believe I can’t—but they’re wrong. The thing is, instead of showing them that, it was just easier to let them have control. They’re both this huge force, and I’m tired of fighting to be seen.

Besides, when they feel like they’re shielding me from hurt, they view it as their jobs. That means, I get a break from seeing the pity in their eyes. When that happens, even though it’s for a brief moment, I get to pretend that they don’t see me as less.
Being the daughter of Dancer, Savage MC Vice President, is anything but easy. So, after a while, she gave up trying.
Luke caught her eye immediately. She’d sworn off men, but something about him made it impossible for her to stay away.

I knew it, but it was like being caught in a fucking tornado on the freeway. You could hide in a fucking ditch, but there wasn’t much you could do to stop the shit-storm headed your way.

“Here they come,” Jonesy says, and you could hear the anticipation in his voice.

He loves this shit, and it definitely shows. Me? I’ve got zero taste for it. I support my club, I do what I have to do to keep our territory ours, and the money coming in. This petty fucking shit? Not my cup of tea. Some young punk had to go and piss off Ford, our Prez.

You can’t do that shit. Ford was a big guy. He probably tipped the scales at three hundred. Sure, he had some meat on his bones, but he also had muscle. That made him formidable enough, but when you added in his short fuse, you had a recipe for disaster. Ford’s temper was scary as fuck. There’s not much in this world I’m afraid of. I don’t even think you could say I was afraid of Ford, but I fucking knew to be cautious around him. He’s an asshole. He’s fair for the most part and he takes care of the men in his club, but he is still an asshole. Then again, most of us are—maybe that’s why we chose this lifestyle.

“Jesus,” I hiss as I get a look at the girl in question.

“Damn,” Jonesy whistles. “She’s a dead ringer for Lyla isn’t she?”

“She sure as hell is pretty damn close,” I admit, although I can see a few differences.

Lyla is Ford’s daughter. There are few things in this life that Ford will admit to caring about. The club, Demon Chasers MC, and his daughter are the only two. He protects them fiercely. Lyla is his pride and his only child. She’s eighteen, but she might as well be six to Ford. In his eyes, she will never grow up—which is bad fucking news. Because Lyla has grown up. She’s gorgeous and boys have been sniffing around her for a while. There’s only thing that’s stopped them from stepping up to try and get her. Ford.

Certainly, that’s why none of the younger guys in the club have tried. The rest of us view her as either a kid sister or a niece. She’s family. That’s why so many of us are pissed. Lyla has been crying for a fucking month over some little sniveling asshole. My call would have been to hunt down the little dick-weed and teach him a lesson about hurting women. Ford? Well, our Prez might be a fair man and make good decisions ninety-nine percent of the time. It’s that small amount of time when he goes unhinged that gets all of our asses in a sling, and when it comes to his little girl hurting…

He’s definitely fucking unhinged.

He’s determined to bring the little punk to his knees and that begins—at least in his head—with kidnapping the woman he chose over Lyla. Now, normally, I could get more behind this plan of revenge. But then normally the woman in question wasn’t the daughter of Skull, the President of the Devil’s Blaze in Kentucky.

I haven’t had a lot of dealings with the Devil’s Blaze. We’re in Virginia and try to steer clear of the Blaze. We’re not allies and once we take little Gabby here, I think the term mortal enemies will more likely apply.

“We’re sure about this?” I ask Jonesy, hoping like fuck he’ll say no.

“I know you’re against this, Grunt,” he says, frowning, staring at the girl in question.

“Fuck yeah, I am. This is going to get bloody and you know it will. I’m not just talking a little blood either. We’re talking fucking rivers.”

“Yeah,” Jonesy mutters. “There’s no way we’re going to talk Ford out of this shit though. You know that.”

“Let’s watch her for a bit, make contact and tell Ford that we didn’t get the opportunity. If we can delay it a bit---” I shrug, not knowing how to finish it.

“For a man that got the road name Grunt because you hate talking, you’re talking a lot now,” he grumbles.
She was a fire in his blood and he was going to have her. No matter the cost.
The Savage Brothers MC is one of the most ruthless clubs around. Dragon, the club president, is not a man you want on your bad side.
Dylan “Chains” Allen wanted Kayden West more than he ever wanted anything in his life. In his world, when you wanted something you took it.
So, he did.
He knows there will be hell to pay. You don't mess with Dragon's daughter and survive. But, some things are worth the price you have to pay.
If taking Kayden is what is finally going to drag him down to hell, then he’ll just make sure he enjoys the ride.
Welcome back to the world of the Savage Brothers MC. We might be talking the second generation, but that doesn't mean our boys are put out to pasture. They're still bad, they're still hot and they're still going to get your motor revving. It's just that the second generation might be even dirtier, grab a fan and a cold bottle of water. It's going to be a hot summer.

I roll my eyes at Keanna. I love her, she’s my girl, but she’s a nut. It’s also a little creepy that she’s mackin’ on my big brother. All the girls do. They look at Dom and by the way they fall down on their knees around him, you’d think he’s the second coming.

I don’t see it. Then again, if they lived with my brothers, they probably wouldn’t either. Dom and Thomas are both pigs. I love them, but more times than not I want to kill them. There’s just four years between Thomas and I and five with Dom, but that doesn’t matter. I’m forever trapped as their little sister. They don’t care that I’m eighteen and moving out on my own. They’re worse than my father.

Okay, that’s not exactly true either. My dad nearly had a stroke when I told him I was moving out into my own apartment. Mom did her best to calm him down, but even she had problems containing him with this. There’s a reason people call my father Dragon. He reacts fiercely—especially when it’s about someone he cares about. And, oh yeah, he can definitely breathe fire so hot that it burns everything and everyone around him.

Usually I don’t complain. My old man has been the best dad a girl could have. I never once doubted he loved me. He stays hella busy and despite the fact that he doesn’t look like the soccer dad, or the dad of a cheerleader, I can’t name one game that I played in, or cheered at that my old man—and half the club and a couple other clubs—hadn’t been at.

I’m treated like a princess. That’s what most of them call me. Of course, I’m a biker princess and that changes everything. You see, my father is Detroit Dragon West, president and founder of the Savage Brothers Motorcycle Club. If you haven’t heard of the Savage Brothers, you’ve probably been living under a rock. They carry more weight around these parts than law enforcement. Hell, half of the police are on my father’s payroll—not that I’m supposed to know that kind of thing.

The club is all about the men. Women usually only have two roles. You’re either a Twinkie or an old lady. That’s it and that’s not the lifestyle I want. Don’t get me wrong, my mom has lived this life and she rocks at being an old lady. She’s right too. Men might want to think they have all the power, but my dad would give her anything she asks for and if she’s really against something, she usually manages to get her way.

My brothers are all about the club. Dominic and Thomas are both prospects for the club now. Dad’s not cutting them any slack. They won’t ride his coattails at all. They have to prove themselves to the other members. I thought that was harsh and Mom didn’t necessarily agree either, but Dom—strangely enough—wanted it that way. I’m not sure what Thomas wanted. He and Dom are so tight that I think he’d follow Dom to the ends of the earth without questioning him at all.

I, on the other hand, want to live on my own. I want a nice normal guy who’s not jumping on his bike at three in the morning to do my father’s bidding. I want a guy that won’t have to go through hell just to be mine—and trust me if I ever picked a guy in the club he’d have to go through some crazy shit. He still might, even if he’s not in the club. That’s the curse of being a biker princess. It has perks, but the drawbacks are plenty.

“Oh, my fuck. He’s taking his shirt off. Take it off baby and Keanna will come over there and lick every delicious inch of that milk chocolate body.”

“Keanna! Knock it off, you ho!” I growl, shoving her so hard she loses her balance and her hip slides against her car.

“What? That man is fine!”

“It’s my brother you’re talking about. That’s just grossy-gross.”

“Let me just say if that was the view in my house every morning, moving out would be the last fucking thing I’d want to do.”

“Again, he’s my brother and you’re weird. Put this in your trunk and I’ll run back in and get the last box.”

“I got it, Sis,” Thomas says and I turn around smiling at him.

I love Thomas so much—I love both of my brothers. They’re as different as night and day. Dom is silent, more self-assured and definitely more controlling. Thomas is laid back, sweet and funny and even a little bit shy. Thomas has a stutter that he’s worked hard to overcome. It’s still noticeable when he’s upset or the center of attention. I think he gets embarrassed by it, but he’d never admit to that. No one would dare comment on it either—especially if Dom is around.
