The contract on the prince’s head was only the beginning…

This was supposed to be a quick job.

Pop in. Check out the prince. Alert his security that someone wanted him dead.

Easy.

But a chance meeting in a tea shop left West unable to walk away.

Crown Prince Jin was far too sweet and trusting to be left unattended.

(Not to mention devastatingly handsome and mind-blowingly sexy.

However, Prince Jin has a dark secret that leads to even bigger problems. West is going to need the entire team for this one…and maybe even those crazy assassins.

Oh God, and a makeover as he goes undercover in the elite world of royalty.

Westin’s Prince is the fourth and final full-length novel in the Shadow Elite series and features mercenaries, assassins, royalty, a sassy assistant, conspiracies, danger, insta-swoon, yet another cinnamon roll, a fish out of water who will do anything for his prince, a “fake” boyfriend but nobody believes them, and love on the run in Asia.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

WESTIN ST. JAMES

West rubbed his eyes with his thumb and forefinger, then pinched the bridge of his nose.

This had to be wrong.

But when he lowered his hand and opened his eyes to read the message for the third time, the information remained the same.

Was it a blessing or a curse? The timing was good. Damn good, judging by the tremble creeping into his hands on a more regular basis.

He was overdue for a break. The team was his family, the only family he had in this world. He loved them as much as he was able and they knew it. But there were times he needed to get away from it all for a few days or weeks. One time it was for three months. No one asked where he went or what he did. They simply welcomed him back with open arms and jokes.

With them, he felt welcome. They were home.

Yet, each wayward child needed to leave home every now and again.

This job…

He could just go check on it alone. Deal with it alone. No fuss. No muss. No insanity or complications.

But what if it turned into something bigger?

A soft, nearly silent sigh slipped from his parted lips. He had to at least tell Charlie where he was going, what he was doing. That way, if he needed help from the rest of the team, they wouldn’t be blindsided by the request. Not that something like this would stop them from hopping the first plane to join him in the fun.

West shoved to his feet from where he’d been sitting on the edge of his bed and put his phone into his pocket. The first day of testing at the future dig site had gone well, and even he had to admit mild curiosity about what they would find when it was finally cracked open. However, that wasn’t going to happen for several months, and no one was sticking around.

From the conversations that were floating about the table last night, plans were beginning to form and they were all taking an extended break. An overdue break that was supposed to happen after they’d finished the Argentina job, but that was postponed—thank you very much, Kairo—only to be postponed a second time—thanks, Ed. West had no interest in continuing this trend.

Right now, Kairo and Izzie were planning to jet off to the UK so Izzie could properly meet Kairo’s mother—and likely, play the part of referee between son and mother. Izzie had asked Charlie and Will to “house-sit” his family place on Santorini. Both men had jumped at that hardship. Who wouldn’t want to “house-sit” a luxury mansion on a Greek island?

Meanwhile, Ed and Max were headed to the States for some R&R with Ed’s family. That didn’t sound restful or relaxing to West, but to each his own and all that shit.

The only one dragging his feet was Alexei. Soren had already announced that he was up for whatever his lover wanted. West suspected Alexei wanted to return home to see his uncles. Their visit to Santorini to help with the Panopoulos affair had been incredibly brief, and it was easy to see that Alexei was homesick. He’d talked to his uncles a couple of weeks ago after they’d returned from ensuring Izzie’s sister was safely and happily settled in the US. But that wasn’t enough.

However, Alexei had also stated while they were in Uruguay that he wanted to go on a big adventure with Soren and drag West along for fun. Sadly, that was two adventures ago, and he could see on Alexei’s face that he was worried about going back on what he’d said.

Well, this oddity of a job would get Alexei off the hook in terms of guilt. He could run to visit his uncles, who would inevitably torture Soren. That was a win-win in West’s book.

When he reached the first floor, he was a little shocked to find that the place was nearly empty after being up to his eyeballs in people for days on end.

“Where is everyone?” West inquired as he stepped into the living room. Soren and Alexei were cuddled together, watching some ridiculous video on a tablet while Charlie sat in a chair reading an actual paperback. Freaking old man.

“Max and Ed are on a food run. Will said something about taking a nap before dinner. Kairo and Izzie are packing up their gear. Izzie got them on a private flight to London early tomorrow morning,” Soren answered without lifting his eyes from the screen.

West grunted and grabbed a dining room chair with his foot. He dragged it closer to where Charlie was seated and dropped into it, which got his “boss” to slightly lift his eyes.

“I wanted to give you a heads-up. I’m looking into a weird job,” he began.

Charlie laid the open book across the arm of the chair and sat up, resting his forearms on his knees. “How weird are we talking?”
The stranger chose him.

Edison Walker had never seen the man with the wide green eyes before. He only knew that he was in trouble.

And that he took one look at Ed and decided he was his haven. His protector.

Ed would not let him down.

With the jeweled scarab the stranger pressed into his hand and the strange note written in ancient Egyptian, the Shadow Elite mercenaries are off to Cairo to find the stolen professor.

Edison’s Professor is the third full-length novel in the Shadow Elite series and features mercenaries, ancient treasure, danger, explosions, a short grumpy Egyptologist who can be very overprotective of his mercenary, cuddly couples, and love on the run in Egypt.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

EDISON WALKER

He was getting too emotional about this.

It was silly.

But it wasn’t his fault. Athena was adorable, sweet, funny, and so damn smart. He’d grown up an only child, and he’d dreamed of having a sister to protect and watch out for. Someone to give all that unsolicited brotherly advice. Athena was exactly the sister he’d dreamed of having.

Athena rushed over and hugged him for a third time as they stood in the private area of the airport. She’d stayed two days longer than originally planned because she’d wanted to make sure Isidore had truly recovered from his kidnapping experience. The siblings probably also needed a little time to themselves to recover from the knowledge that their own aunt and cousin had planned to steal their money and kill them.

She’d put off the parting as long as possible. If she didn’t leave now, she would miss her first day of classes and other important things. As it was, Gabriel and Justin had agreed to travel with Athena to California before going home to make sure she was properly settled.

Bouncing back to her heels, Athena gripped both of his arms tightly and narrowed her eyes at him. “Now, you’ve got my phone number, email address, and my social media contacts, right? Oh! And my new mailing address,” she checked for the third time.

“I do. I do. Don’t worry. I’ll send updates. You promised to send me a video of your new apartment,” Edison reminded her.

“Of course. Plus, I’ll send you a pic of the new habitat I’m planning to build for Joey.”

“With the tunnels that run through all the rooms? Yes! I definitely need to see that. When is Joey joining you?”

“My friend, Olivia, is coming for a visit in October, and she’s going to bring him then.”

“Athena, as much as I hate to break this up, the pilots are waiting on you,” Isidore interjected with a wry smile on his lips. “And please notice that you have hugged Edison good-bye three times now and hugged your only brother just once. I’m feeling neglected.”

Ed choked on a laugh as Athena crossed the posh waiting area to hug Isidore tightly. He rested his head on the top of her curly black hair and closed his eyes as he held her. They whispered little things back and forth in Greek that he’d guessed were poignant until both of them started giggling.

When Isidore finally released Athena, she turned toward Kairo, who was standing next to his boyfriend, and grinned broadly. She slugged the mercenary in the shoulder. “You take good care of my brother for me.”

“I’ll protect him with my life,” Kairo agreed solemnly.

She sighed and hugged him tightly. “I’d like it better if you both stayed alive and out of trouble.”

After releasing them, she stepped away to stand next to the two assassins, who were watching all this family love with happy expressions. They’d said their good-byes to their nephew, Alexei, a couple of days earlier. He and Soren were still lounging in the sun on Santorini with Charlie and Will.

Isidore shook their hands. “Thank you again for all your assistance on this matter and for escorting my sister to school.”

“We were happy to help,” Gabriel graciously replied.

“Yeah, I think you thanked us plenty with that generous contribution you made to our bank account,” Justin chimed in as he took Isidore’s hand, causing Gabriel to roll his eyes.

With all the jokes made and good-byes said, Athena walked out to the private plane, Gabriel and Justin following close behind. Ed shuffled over to stand beside Kairo as they watched out the large window.

“Are you expecting trouble for Athena?” Ed asked in a low voice.

Kairo gave a small shake of his head. “Not really. This is more to make sure that Athena feels safe. She doesn’t want any bodyguards with her while she’s at school, and this will get her started with a sense of security.”

“Plus, I’m having my plane wait in California until Justin and Gabriel are ready to leave. They can take it home as an added thank-you for all they’ve done,” Isidore said.

“That is a very nice bonus,” Ed grunted.

Isidore turned to face him again with that look in his eyes. It was the same look he’d been giving them all since everything got sorted with his family.

Ed lifted both hands as if to ward the man off. “No, no, no. You’ve already paid me and the team plenty. I’ve also adopted your sister as my new little sister, and you’ve made one of my best friends very happy. I don’t want or need anything else.”

Isidore pursed his lips at him and Kairo cackled. “Okay,” Isidore conceded. He turned his attention back to the plane as the door closed and it began to taxi toward the runway.

Kairo flashed him a wide grin, and Edison could only chuckle. Kairo had his hands full with Isidore.
When Meet Cute leads to Meet Trouble.
Ehren is the most adorable man Stephen has ever laid eyes on. A chance encounter leads to an amazing first date and the promise of even more fun.
But all those hopes crash down when someone breaks into Ehren’s apartment.
With dangerous stalkers and rumors of a secret treasure hounding Ehren, Stephen will do anything to keep him safe. Even call his crazy half-brother Charlie and his mercenary friends for help.
Oh God, please don’t let his strange, extended family destroy the best thing that’s ever happened to him…

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

Stephen was exhausted.

This had to have been the world’s longest week. The old rule of “If it could go wrong, it did” had definitely been in effect.

Right now, all he wanted was to pop into one of his favorite Italian restaurants, have a drink, and place a to-go order. His couch, comfiest pants, and hours of mindless TV were waiting for him.

He slipped around a couple walking as slowly as possible on the sidewalk, lost in their own world, and grabbed the door to Tuscano. The smell of oregano, garlic, and tomatoes wafted through the air, leaving his stomach growling. Naturally, there was a line to the hostess booth and the restaurant was packed. He’d be lucky to grab a spot at the bar. Not a huge shock for a beautiful Friday evening in downtown Denver. Everyone was out and about despite the sweltering temperatures.

The grumpy old man in him wanted to order them all up into the mountains so he could unwind a little in peace, but he stifled the thought. Just because he was tired didn’t mean the world needed to get out of his way.

Rolling his shoulders, he sucked in a deep breath and slowly released it again, feeling some of the tension fall away. The weekend was here. He’d relax, have a drink, eat good food, and kick back. Yep, this was the beginning of a great weekend.

“Are you sure you don’t want to order, sir?” The server’s voice rose above the din, capturing Stephen’s attention as he got closer to the hostess station. Her tone carried with it notes of irritation. It was clearly not the first time she’d asked that question.

It took only a second to locate where she stood, over a small table near the entrance but in the center of the open floor. The single man partially hunched under the server’s glare, with adorable dark-chocolate-brown curls and dusky skin, was growing redder by the second.

“I’m so sorry. If we could wait a little while longer. I left another message with my date. I’m sure he’s on his way and stuck in traffic,” the cutie replied. He was clenching his phone in both hands and even from several feet away, it was clear they were shaking. He glanced about, noting that the man had an avid audience in the people at the other tables.

The guy had been stood up.

What a fucking asshole. Whoever his date was didn’t have the decency to at least text this sweet-looking person that he wasn’t going to make it.

Stephen had been there a time or two. It sucked, and there wasn’t a worse way to kick off a weekend.

He sympathized with the server too. The would-be customer was taking up one of her tables when they were at their busiest, and she was losing out on potential tips.

Nope, there was an easy way to keep the server happy and to help this stranger save some face. At least, he’d be able to walk out of the restaurant with his dignity intact. No one deserved a shitty Friday night.

Straightening his tie and sliding his hand through his thick hair, Stephen stepped out of the crowd and walked right up to the table.

“Hey, honey! I’m so sorry I’m late. Traffic was freaking murder on 25 today,” he greeted with his widest, most confident grin.

Both the cutie and the server froze, staring at him with looks of absolute shock. Frozen worked for him. He placed his hand over the man’s and squeezed as he leaned in like he was going to kiss his cheek. Stephen didn’t touch him—though the server couldn’t see that—and whispered, “Just roll with it.”

“Uh…yeah…no…it’s okay. So long as you’re safe,” he replied robotically, his eyes still too wide.

Stephen slid into the open chair, still grinning. “What are you drinking tonight?”

His “date” glanced at the drink in front of him. It appeared as if he’d taken only a few sips, but the poor guy stared at it as if he couldn’t figure out how it had gotten there.

“He ordered the apple-honey IPA,” the server provided.

“Then I’ll have the same. If you could give me a few minutes to peruse the menu, we’ll be ready to order soon.”

The server nodded, seeming a bit skeptical about all of this, but also relieved that they were finally moving forward with the night.
Kidnapped.
Someone of his skill should not have been kidnapped at all. Let alone so easily.
But when Kairo Jones wakes up halfway around the world with a reclusive billionaire begging for his help, the mercenary knows he can’t say no.
He also knows that he might be in over his head.
While Charlie and the rest of the team race to locate their missing member, Kairo fights to keep the sexy man with the sad eyes alive long enough to get some answers.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

KAIRO JONES

Late July 2030

Kairo lurched forward, coughing and choking on his beer, as Soren delivered the punchline to his story about sneaking into the bedroom of a known arms dealer and being harassed by his four cats. Ed slapped him hard on the back, possibly knocking Kairo’s lungs up into his throat.

“You okay?” Edison asked, tears of laughter still gathered in the corners of his eyes.

“Yeah, fine,” Kairo rasped. He took a delicate sip of his beer to clear his throat. This was what he got for attempting to drink while Soren was in the mood to tell stories.

Alexei was proving to be just as creative, though, as he told of his own insane adventures. Someone so young should not have experienced the things he had.

When he caught his breath, Kairo sank into his chair and stared down the long table they’d claimed at the restaurant. Shortly after Charlie and Will returned from meeting with Carlos—aka Thiago fucking Vergara—Kairo informed them that he’d acquired tickets for a ferry headed a short hop, skip, and jump across the Atlantic to Uruguay. Specifically, the small, historic town of Colonia. They’d grabbed hotel rooms and were now settled in a restaurant serving delicious drinks and lots of meat, which allowed them to watch the political fireworks exploding in Buenos Aires from a safe distance.

As they boarded the ferry, Kairo just might have sent off countless packets of information revealing the fact that Lorenzo Perez was married to a child who had been stolen from a couple who had been kidnapped during the era of the military dictatorship. His wife was one of the very people whose existence he was trying to deny in the first place. The Argentine media was going crazy with this news, and it even seemed to be getting picked up by different news agencies across South America.

Oh, yes. This was looking very bad for Lorenzo Perez and his asshole son. His chances at the Argentine presidency were dwindling by the second.

Kairo took one last glance at the news headlines on his phone and then tucked it away with a soft cackle.

Lorenzo Perez was a small fish in terms of the people they’d taken down in the past, but that didn’t mean it didn’t feel good to see him stopped. The people of Argentina suffered under the military dictatorship, and while everyone wanted to move on and be happy, it was important to never forget what had happened. That was just a direct route to it occurring all over again.

“Everything good?” Charlie asked from his seat directly across from Kairo.

Kairo lifted his beer and smiled. “We’re all good. Appears the Perez boys have got their hands full managing the mess we created. I don’t expect them to come searching for us. It’s way too late for that now.”

Will paused, a forkful of steak halfway to his mouth, when he gazed over at Kairo. “What about Catalina Perez? Has she emailed Charlie?”

Kairo’s heart ached. “Nothing yet.”

Charlie reached over and placed a hand on Will’s slumped shoulder. “Honestly, I’m not expecting her to. She’s pissed at her husband and son for what they’ve done to Argentina and to her. She wants to stand and watch them burn.”

“Besides, if she suddenly disappears from the country, they could use it to shove all this back under the rug,” Kairo pointed out.

“But if she does happen to reach out and needs help escaping, we’ll be right there for her,” Ed interjected. “She helped us. We’re not gonna leave her stranded.”

Will nodded, looking a little more settled, even if some of the sadness and worry lingered in his eyes. Was there a chance that Lorenzo would have his wife killed over this? Yeah, a pretty good chance. But if Catalina wanted to face her husband head on, who were they to get in the way of what she wanted?

Kairo swallowed the rest of his beer and placed an order for another when the server returned to check on them. He usually wasn’t a big drinker, but they were celebrating closing two mysteries and reuniting Will with Charlie. If that wasn’t a reason to get completely shit-faced, he didn’t know what would be.

Relaxing in his chair, he smiled at the man who had been his boss for more than a decade now. Sure, since parting ways with the CIA, they’d agreed they were equal members of the team, but deep down, they all still knew Charlie was their fearless leader. He was the one they all turned to for answers when a plan went to hell or they were low on ideas of what to do next. Charlie Sands had that “confident leader” aura around him. People wanted to follow him. And it didn’t hurt that he usually had damn good ideas.

He’d thought tracing the roots of previously unknown paintings for an artist who’d supposedly died more than fifty years ago would be an exciting romp through the Argentine art world. Mix in danger, intrigue, sex, and some time on the beach, and Charlie would’ve called it a success.

But he and his team had been in Buenos Aires for nearly a week with nothing to show for it except for indigestion from lunch, and West had a sunburn on the back of his neck.

No danger.

No intrigue.

And no sex.

He was planning to at least fix that egregious oversight tonight, though. There were plenty of hot playthings strolling the gallery show, giving off those “come fuck me” vibes. It would be rude of him not to oblige.

“How do you do it?” The low rumble of Edison’s voice rolled through Charlie’s ear, and he turned to regard his undercover companion for the night. His demolitions expert looked good in his bespoke suit. Of course, it wasn’t like something off the rack was going to fit his broad shoulders, thick chest, and massive arms. The man was a walking tank. And yet the tailor had wrapped him in a soft camel-brown suit with a white shirt that perfectly complimented his dark, rich skin tone.

“Do what?” Charlie inquired, giving the left cuff of his midnight-blue shirt a small tug. His own suit for the evening was a mix of blues and blacks that set well against his tanned complexion and salt-and-pepper hair.

“In the land of sex and machismo, you still stand out as an old-school god of sex,” Edison replied.

There was a low snickering in his ear, and Kairo immediately added over their private communication system, “A stallion in heat.”

“Or just an old tomcat in heat,” Westin interjected for good measure.

Charlie didn’t react beyond a twitch of his mouth as he continued to stare at the post-modern painting in front of him that was an explosion of reds and grays. He wasn’t quite sure what it was supposed to be, but he hadn’t actually noticed most of the art in the showing. His attention was now on the members of his team who weren’t in the gallery.

Currently, Kairo was in the safe house they’d rented, digging into famed and supposedly dead painter Thiago Vergara as well as the gallery owners who were known to have sold his work. Kairo Jones was the best reconnaissance guy he’d ever worked with. There was nothing he couldn’t hack, no bit of information he couldn’t uncover. But even he was running into a wall when it came to what happened to Thiago Vergara after he disappeared in 1977.

Westin St. James had elected to find a dark and shadowy perch outside the gallery from which to watch people coming and going. The former Marine sniper didn’t do crowds or situations where he might be forced to have a face-to-face conversation with someone.

Ed was plenty backup for this reconnaissance mission, especially since Charlie didn’t expect to run into a single ounce of trouble.

Not that Buenos Aires didn’t offer up ample trouble. The lovely South American city had her fair share of crime, corruption, violence, and greed. They didn’t even have to turn over that many rocks to locate it. They just had trouble pinpointing the dark side that matched their problem: What really happened to Thiago Vergara?
