Torn apart by tragedy, Lorelei has kept Xander at arm's length, focusing on her career and gifts, rather than rekindling their love. But now that she's back in Salem, she can't avoid him and finds herself slowly softening toward the man she's loved all of her life. However, the witch hunter they've been fighting still hasn't been vanquished. Between that and breaking the curse of the Blood Moon, now is not the best time for her to give the sexy Xander another try.

Despite Lora pushing him away, Xander has never stopped loving her. But now that the stakes are higher with evil threatening them more than ever, he is done giving her time and space. With the curse that Jonas put into place long ago creating havoc with the innocent residents of Salem, the core six, their coven, and the witches from Hallows End need to work together to overcome true wickedness.

Will Xander and Lora find themselves once again amidst these stormy seas and their recent separation? Or will evil reign, throwing the core six, Salem and Hallows End into unimaginable peril?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Katrina Harwood

September 1692

* * *

“We must make haste.” I have never written so quickly, and I pray to all the gods and goddesses that the special ink I’m using will work how it should.

“There are no words on the page, my love.”

I do not spare my sweet husband a look as I keep going.

“I have cast a spell on the ink, Thomas,” I reply. “I must finish writing this before he casts the curse.”

“Of whom are you speaking?”

I can hear the frustration in his voice, but there is simply no time to explain. I know, down to the marrow of my bones, that Jonas will cast the curse of the blood moon this night, despite all the begging and warning I have done.

My brother believes it is the only way to protect his coven.

“Jonas,” I mutter, still writing. “I must get this down.”

Line by line, I write the words I have memorized over the past weeks, knowing this may be the only way to break the curse once Jonas casts it.

However, once it is done, no one, not even I, will remember what has transpired.

Tears fall unchecked down my cheeks, and I rush on. I despise the few precious seconds it takes to dip my quill into the special ink so I may continue.

Please, Jonas. Please, do not do it yet.

I do not know if Jonas can hear my plea, but I send it out anyway and continue my quest.

Once I’ve written the spell, I continue with the instructions. I must get it all down and trust that it will not all be in vain.

“Darling, we must go.”

“I know. I just need one more moment.”

“Katrina—”

“There. ‘Tis done.”

I sit back in the chair and blow out a long, relieved breath. More than anything, I wish I could see my dear brother and embrace him, pull him close and reassure us both that everything will be as it should be in the end.

But this must do for now.

“I do not think I forgot anything.”

“What will he do, Katrina?”

Finally, I raise my eyes to my beloved and see worry and fear on his handsome face.

“What he believes is right.”

“And is it?”

I close my eyes and feel the hot tears running down my cheeks. “My dreams are full of despair, Thomas. The premonitions do not end well.”

“Will they die?”

I find his gaze with mine once more. “’Tis a fate worse than death. They will not remember, and they will never die.”

His brow furrows in confusion, and then he blinks and stares down at my Book of Shadows. “What are you doing there?”

It has begun.

There is but a moment of pain in my heart, but then it’s as though I am waking from a long slumber. I look down at my book with a frown. “I must have run out of ink.”

But I notice a notation in my handwriting, telling me not to write or mark on the blank pages.

Odd. I don’t remember why.

“We must make haste,” Thomas says, gathering the last of his things to stow in the wagon. “It is not safe for us here, my love.”

Sorrow fills me. I love my home in Salem so much, but I know he is right.

We must go.

“I am ready. This is the last of my things.”

“Come, then. We leave tonight.”

I nod and follow my love out of our small home on Chestnut Street, then turn to look back inside. With a wave of my hand, all the candles extinguish, and the fire dies. Our cabin is empty.

As much as I do not want to go, it is the only way to ensure our survival.

Chapter One

Lorelei

“We’re supposed to be fishing here, Xander.”

My comment doesn’t deter his hands—or his mouth—from moving over my body in that delicious way he does that never fails to set my heart and every nerve ending in my body on fire. I’ve known for as long as I can remember that Xander would be my forever. That he would be the one I loved, cherished, and committed myself to for all time.

I believe we’ve been linked for many lifetimes.

“That’s what I wanted you to think,” he mumbles against the soft skin of my neck, sending shivers down my arms. “I just wanted to get you alone.”

“You have a house.”

“On the water,” he clarifies, and I look up into those dark, fathomless eyes of his. They’re the color of black tourmaline, and I’ve never felt safer than when I’m looking into his eyes. “I want you on the water, Lorelei.”

That’s not a surprise. He always wants me on the water. As a sea witch, and with water being my most powerful element, the sex out here is out of this fucking world.

The winds are calm, the bay around us hardly rocking us at all as I reach back to unzip my dress and let it fall away from my arms, pooling at my feet.
Cauldrons Call, by New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby, is the highly-anticipated second book in The Curse of the Blood Moon series.

Breena has known Giles all her life—and has loved him for nearly as long. Linked by the ties of family and coven, Breena has had a lifetime to discover everything there is to know about him. His intelligence and specialization in crystals and gems are truly things to admire, but it’s how he smiles at her that really makes her cauldron bubble. Too bad he’s completely oblivious.
Giles isn’t as oblivious as Breena thinks he is. A powerful witch, he’s spent most of his life hiding his true feelings from her, but he can’t ignore the fact that she’s hurting and plagued by the same nightmares that haunt him every night. So, getting her to move in with him so he can do just that seems like simple common sense. The hard part will be resisting the way Breena makes him feel.
But evil has invaded their world, and it has the power to kill every witch in Salem. Breena has no time to wallow in what might have been and Giles desire to protect her is stronger than the power contained in his crystals . Together they must lift the curse of the blood moon before time runs out. If they can’t, the people Breena loves the most are all in danger. It will take every skill she’s honed as a witch to protect what’s hers and the man who cast a spell on her heart.

Will they have time to kindle their love for each other, or will the clock run out at the hands of fate?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Giles Corey

September 1692

* * *

“I spoke with your sister three nights past,” my dear wife, Martha, says as we sit by the fire. Darkness has fallen outside, and with the accusations swirling around Salem, we are more frightened than ever.

“What did Louisa say?”

“She and her husband will not leave Hallows End. Giles, they are steadfast in their belief that no harm can come to them there.”

“No witch is safe in Massachusetts.” It comes out as a whisper, in case anyone may hear. “They cannot shield themselves from this hysteria.”

“She said they plan to cast the curse.”

My head whips up, and I stare at my wife. I love her with everything in me. Martha and I have only been married for two years, finding each other at our advanced age, after our previous spouses passed. Our children are grown and gone, and she is more precious to me than my wealth or anything else in my possession.

I am an old man. Fighting this war of hysteria is something my body and spirit are almost too weary to withstand.

And yet, for Martha, I will fight with everything I am.

“Louisa suggests we join them in Hallows End, Giles. ‘Tis only until this is over, and then we may return home.”

“No.” I shake my head and stare into the fire once more. “We shall not leave our home. Casting the curse is foolhardy, and Jonas should rethink that decision. There must be another way.”

“Jonas is a smart man. An excellent coven leader. Giles, there may not be another way.”

I sigh, then stand and shuffle to the loose stone in the fireplace. Once I’ve removed it, I pull out my mother’s Book of Shadows.

“Giles.” Martha’s voice shakes with fear. “You assured me you disposed of that. If someone found it here, we would surely both be hanged.”

“Do not be concerned, my love,” I reply as I sit and shuffle through the pages until I find the one I want. “I found this today. It is a spell to rewrite history. Martha, this could be what brings all of this to a close without Hallows End disappearing.”

“Jonas assured Louisa the curse can be lifted when we are all out of danger.”

“And how long might that be?” I demand and drop my fist onto the Book of Shadows. “A year? Five? Martha, I am an old man. I do not want to lose my sister for what remains of my life. At less than thirty and five years, she is still a young woman. And she is all that remains of my family.”

“I understand,” Martha murmurs, staring into the fire. “I am afraid of losing Louisa, as well.”

“Who?” I blink at her, not understanding what she said. “Losing who?”

“I do not know.” Martha frowns as if confused. “Why do you have that book out? Giles, someone will harm us if it is found.”

I look down and scowl at the book in my lap. Surely, Martha is correct. If anyone saw this, we would indeed be executed.

“I—I do not know.”

I stand and return the book to its hiding place.

“We should rest this night, my love. It will be another busy day tomorrow.”

Chapter One

Breena

“I can do this.” I bite my lower lip and grip the small box that just happens to be on the bottom of a pile of other packages and give it a pull. Pressing on the ones above in a vain attempt to keep them in place doesn’t work, and before I know it, all of them tumble around me. “Shit. I hope nothing broke.”

I blow a strand of hair out of my eyes and get to work picking up the mess, but then I bump into another stack of boxes, and there’s more tumbling.

“For the goddess’s sake,” I mutter, just as a knock comes from the door. “It’s open!”

“Hey there—” my cousin, Lorelei, begins and then stops short. “Are you in there?”

“In the back corner.”

“We can’t see you over this mountain of stuff,” comes a reply from my other cousin, Lucy.

The three of us grew up as close as sisters, and I love that we all live close enough to pop in on one another. At least, I usually like it.

“Some boxes fell over.” I’m out of breath as I finally retrieve the last package, set it aside, and then stand and smile over at the two people I love the most. “What are you two up to today?”

“We brought coffee,” Lorelei says with a frown, looking around the space. “But it looks like we need an intervention here, honey.”

I shake my head and scoot around my big craft table, walking to where they are and taking the proffered coffee.

“It’s all temporary.”

“Listen,” Lucy jumps in, “it’s awesome that Giles offered to let you use this apartment above his shop so you had a private place to live while you figured out the house situation, but this is way too small for you.”
New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby returns to tales beyond the natural and normal with her brand-new, captivating paranormal romance series that is sure to capture your heart and make you believe in magic.

Returning to her beloved home of Salem after a trip away, Lucy Finch can’t shake the feeling of anxiety that suddenly plagues her. Nor can she shrug off her third eye’s urging that she has a mission she must undertake—a secret she must uncover.

As a green witch, Lucy has always felt strongest and the most at home in the forest, surrounded by nature. But when a disturbing dream wakes her and sends her fleeing into the woods, she isn’t prepared for what she finds. She expected her element. Perhaps a message from spirit. She didn’t expect to cross paths with a sexy-as-sin man, straight out of a movie scene.

Jonas Morley isn’t like the other residents of Hallows End. He knows the town’s secrets, as well as Salem’s, and it has been his honor and duty to protect them for as long as he can remember. But the gorgeous witch who graces the town’s hidden border shakes him and makes him second-guess his directive. She calls to him like no other. But can he save his home and those under his care and still make her his? Or will their union mean danger and destruction for not only them but also those who live within the town’s borders?

Curses don’t discriminate, and the curse of the blood moon is the most determined and dangerous of all.

Hallows End is the first book in the Curse of the Blood Moon Series.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Jonas

September 1692

* * *

“They took Margaret Scott.”

I look up into the sad eyes of my long-time friend, my coven sister, Louisa, and feel my heart sink with sadness.

“They will execute them,” she continues, her voice full of frustration and urgency. “Jonas, we must do something.”

“If we speak up, we expose the entire coven, and they will murder us all,” I reply and feel the candles around us flaming higher, fueled by my anger. “We cannot risk hundreds of lives, Louisa.”

“So the few shall die instead?” she insists. “Those women have been good to us, Jonas. They have not done anything wrong, and they are certainly not witches. Margaret has worked tirelessly to protect us, to conceal us from their unjust government.”

“I know.” I stand and cross to Louisa, laying my hand on her shoulder. Her aura swirls in outrage. “And I am eternally grateful to her. To all of them. Would you have me send our entire family to slaughter now? Because if I go forward and defend Margaret, that is what will transpire.”

She shakes her head, tightening her lips in despair. “It is not right.”

“No. It is not. Staying silent as they punish our allies is wrong. But I do not know what else to do.”

She turns away and then looks back at me. “I have been dreaming again. I suspect that it will not matter in the end, regardless of whether we speak up now or not. I see fire. I hear screams. They will come for Hallows End, Jonas. It is only a matter of time. Did you see the blood on the moon this night?”

The thought sends terror through me, and I know she’s right.

I’ve had the same dreams.

And I saw the blood on the moon.

“Jonas, you know that what I say is true!”

“I know.” My voice is rough with grief—with resignation. “You are right. It is time. Summon the others.”

“We cannot undo it once the spell is cast,” she warns me.

“The alternative is death,” I remind her. “Assemble in the town square in one hour. We will end this bloodshed and protect our own.”

“Will I remember?” she asks. “When it is finished, and we are safe, will we know what we did?”

“No. Only I will remember. It is as it should be.”

“The burden is too great—”

“Go,” I interrupt. “Make haste. Time runs out.”

She pauses and hurries over to hug me close. “I’m sorry, brother.”

“It is what is meant,” I say and pat her back. “Now, do as I ask, won’t you?”

“Yes.” She wipes at a tear on her cheek. “Yes, I will make the preparations.”

She hurries out of my small, modest house, and I return to my desk, opening the bottom drawer to retrieve my Book of Shadows.

It’s time to cast the curse of the blood moon.

Chapter One

Lucy

I don’t like the dreams. I’ve never been a fan of them, even as a child when I knew what my birthday presents would be or where we’d spend our spring vacations. But the dreams—visions, really—have never been frightening. Just informative.

Still, let me tell you, when a woman is blessed with the gift of precognition, it’s hard to surprise her with much of anything.

Lately, however, the dreams have turned darker. Are they indicative of what will be or what may be? That’s the question I’ve never been able to answer—and the one I fear the most.

After another night of fitful sleep and disturbing dreams, I rolled out of bed early to go outside where I feel most at peace.

“Come on, Nera, let’s go tend the garden.”

My Irish wolfhound, with his shaggy, dark gray coat and happy disposition, follows me through the kitchen and out the back door to our garden. Most of what I sell in my apothecary comes from this plot. There are some things I can’t grow, very few things I have to send away for, but for the most part, I lovingly and carefully tend to it all right here.

As I walk down the steps, the flowers open to greet me.

“Good morning,” I murmur with a soft smile, a mug of coffee clutched in one hand and a basket for gathering in the other. “You got some rain last night, I see. It’s good for you.”

I walk farther down the path, and more flowers open as if waking from a long nap. I can almost hear them yawn, and it makes me smile softly.

Nera jogs over to the far corner of the grassy yard to do his business, knowing better than to relieve himself on any of the flowers.

Good boy, I say to him with my mind.

His head comes up, and he offers me a wide doggie grin, his tongue hanging out of his mouth. Nera’s been with me for just over five years. He was a stray and hadn’t known a gentle touch before mine. But he found me, and I knew as soon as I locked eyes with him that he was mine.
