I bite into my bottom lip to keep from laughing as Julian’s face tightens.

“It will be a rush,” I add, my voice thick with amusement.

For Julian’s bachelor’s party, we kidnapped him. After we shoved him into the car, Falcon blindfolded Julian and told him we were all going bungee jumping. Our fathers, Carter, and all the guys from Indie Ink will meet us by the lake.

I’m so damn proud of the prank I came up with. Instead of jumping off a bridge, Julian’s only going to jump off the dock into the water. I even hired an instructor to keep things as close to the real thing as possible.

“I can’t believe you’re trying to kill me three days before my wedding,” Julian mutters, his voice tight with nerves.

Reaching the dock, I move forward to shake the instructor’s hand. “Hey, Mark. Good to see you again.”

Glancing at Julian, Mark grins. “It’s a beautiful day to jump.”

“Yeah, we're lucky there’s no wind,” Mason adds.

Everyone takes a moment to greet each other, then Carter says, “Don’t worry, Julian. We’ve jumped before. It’s a rush.”

“My definition of a rush is landing a new deal, and not throwing my self off of a bridge,” Julian grumbles.

Mark grins widely, then asks, “Will the groom be jumping first?”

“Yes,” Falcon answers, leading Julian to the middle of the dock.

“Great, let’s get him geared up.” Picking up the harness, Mark begins to put it on Julian, who seems to be getting paler by the minute. When he has Julian all strapped in, Mark asks, “Did y’all sign the consent form?”

I pull a piece of paper from my pocket and make sure it crinkles, so Julian will hear it. “I have it right here.”

“Thanks.” Mark takes the paper and shoves it in his pocket then proceeds to place a helmet over Julian’s head, then excitedly says, “Okay, let’s do this.”

Mark pretends to open a gate using a metal clip to make a clanking sound, and instructs Julian, “Take three steps forward.” He helps Julian, who carefully inches closer to the edge of the dock. When Julian’s toes go over the side, Mark exclaims, “Stopstopstop! That’s the edge.”

Julian freezes and lets out an anxious breath. “Fuck, this is insane.”

“Let me do one last check of your harness,” Mark says, and he shakes the cord for added effect. “Great, when you’re ready, just lean forward and fall. Don’t jump.”

“Just lean forward and fall,” Julian grumbles sarcastically. “I can’t believe I’m going through with this.”

“It will be a great experience,” Rhett calls from where he’s standing to the side so he can record the moment.

Julian’s features tighten even more as his hands open and close into fists. “I seriously can’t believe I’m doing this.”

“Are you ready?” Mason asks.

Julian scoffs, “I’ll never be ready. This is insane.”

I take a step forward. “On the count of three. One.” Julian shakes his arms out and takes a couple of deep breaths. “Two.” I struggle to hold my laughter back as his breaths speed up. “Three!”

Julian freezes again. “Fuck. Fuck. Shit.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever heard you curse that much,” Mr. Reyes comments.

“Shit, sorry, Dad.”

Mr. Reyes lets out a deep chuckle. “Under the circumstances, it’s okay to curse.”

“I’m jumping after you,” Falcon says to encourage Julian.

“Okay.” Julian shakes out his arms again and bends his knees slightly. “Fuck.” He sucks in a deep breath, and then he falls forward. The splash is loud, and it has all of us laughing. The moment Julian’s head breaks through the water, he shoves the blindfold back. “Fuckers. The whole lot of you.” There’s a huge grin on his face as he swims back to the dock. “I went through all of that for nothing.”

Falcon holds out his arm to help Julian out, and the moment Julian grabs hold of his hand, he yanks Falcon into the water. “My phone!” is all Falcon gets out before the water engulfs him.

“Let’s jump,” Mason says as he pulls his phone from his pocket, setting it down on the dock. I do the same and let out a holler as I run and leap into the air with Mason right behind me.

Carter and the other guys join us as well, but Mr. Reyes, Mr. Chargill, and Dad just watch us, laughing their asses off at our expense.

Mason swims to the dock and holds his hand out. “Help me out, Dad.”

Mr. Chargill falls for the same trick he caught Mason with when he yanked him into the pond while we were golfing.

Once Mr. Chargill is done wiping the water from his face, he shoots Mason a playful glare. “Little shit.”

The moment he looks at Mr. Reyes and my dad, Mr. Reyes shakes his head. “I’m not helping any of you out.”
And my brother-in-law’s new business partner. Chairman of Trinity Academy.
Where I’ve just enrolled as a student. Coldhearted jerk.
Who also happens to be ridiculously hot.

This is a stand-alone spin-off from Trinity Academy & The Enemies To Lovers Series.

Julian & Jamie’s story can be read as a stand-alone, but for your reading pleasure, it’s best to start with the aforementioned series.

Jamie

Bringing the wine glass to my lips, I take a small sip. I’m not used to alcohol, but when Julian ordered a bottle and offered me a glass, I couldn’t bring myself to refuse. People tend to think that at nineteen-years-old you’re still a kid, and I’m far from one.

Being ten years younger than my sister, Della, I’ve always been treated as the kid sister by her friends, even though I practically raised my niece, Danny, by myself until she was four because Della had to work.

I’m really enjoying Julian’s company, and the last thing I want to do is scare the man away because I’m under twenty-one. I’m not a one-night-stand kind of girl, but for the man sitting across from me, I’d make an exception.

He’s tall, dark, and handsome – and then some. Julian ticks every single one of my boxes when it comes to my perfect man, who I thought only existed in my imagination.

Thick brown hair I want to pull my fingers through. Tick.

Deep brown eyes that can hypnotize me. Tick.

Strong jaw and full lips that won’t grow tired when he goes down on me. Tick.

Broad shoulders that will spread my thighs wide open. Tick.

Muscled body that will be able to go all night long. Tick.

Geez, I’ve never felt so turned on before. Watching him across the table from me is like having my own personal porn channel.

“You have a southern accent,” Julian states. “I take it you’re not from around here?”

Shaking my head, my mouth curves up at the memory of my home town. “I’m from Saluda. It’s a one-horse-town in North Carolina.”

“What’s a girl from a small town doing all the way out here?”

Not wanting to mention my studies or too many facts about myself, I twist the truth a little. “I’m a photographer and came out here to get some scenic shots.”

Not a lie. Photography is a hobby of mine.

The interest in Julian’s eyes grows, causing my body to tingle as more heat spreads through it. It’s amazing how he can turn me on with a single look.

Wanting to keep the conversation going instead of just devouring Julian with my eyes, I ask, “Can you play any other instruments besides the piano?”

The corner of Julian’s mouth lifts slightly. “I can play the cello, violin, and guitar.”

“Wow, you’re quite the musician,” I compliment him, wondering what it’s like to pursue your passion as a career. “I’ve always wanted to learn, but I never had the time.”

“Yeah? Would you like me to teach you some piano chords?”

“Now?” My eyes widen slightly before I glance around the restaurant that seems to have emptied out while I was absorbed in Julian.

He glances around then tilts his head to the right, and with a low rumble, says, “The restaurant has closed, so we won’t be disturbed.”

The suggestive tone in his voice makes an impatient sweet ache tighten my abdomen. Loving the feeling, I get up and make my way over to the piano. Sitting down on the bench, I glance up at Julian. My mouth dries up at the sight of him rolling up his sleeves. He takes a seat next to me and then pins me with one hell of an intense look as he murmurs, “Place your hands on the keys.”

Holy cow, it’s like the man’s been made of pure ecstasy.

The entire left side of my body feels as if it’s been magnetized, and I’m breathlessly aware of every movement Julian makes. I do as he instructs and position my fingers over the keys. When Julian places his hands over mine, my fingers move involuntarily, hungry for more of his touch.

It’s needless to say that I can’t focus on any of the notes as our fingers begin to move. My attention is solely fixated on his deep breaths, his body pressing against mine, and his forearms as muscles ripple beneath his golden skin.

I become lost in the moment, and my hands still when Julian moves his right arm to behind me, turning his body so his chest presses against my shoulder.

I’m not one for public sex and never thought it would be something I’d consider, but right now, I’m more than willing to let this man take me right here on the piano.

With my breaths rushing over my lips, I slowly turn my head until our eyes meet. Julian’s left-hand caresses its way up my arm, and by the time it brushes up my neck, I’m holding my breath with anticipation.

Instead of ravaging me on the piano, he murmurs, “Would you like to take this to my suite?”

Would I? You’re still asking?
Being a Korean girl from a culture that’s very different from the west, it makes me stand out like a sore thumb. There’s nothing I can do but to accept the fate arranged by my father and his mistress. My marriage to Lake Cutler will be a business deal and nothing else.
My plan is simple. Make him hate me enough to break off the engagement, so I can return to Korea. But I didn’t account for those caring brown eyes.
What started as a mission to save myself from an unhappy arranged marriage soon turns into a battle to not lose my heart. I dare him to walk away, but instead, he shows me any bridge can be crossed.
Everyone has a role in society as a result of hierarchy - therefore it is vital to respect it. Status is largely determined by someone’s role in an organisation, which organisation they work for, which university they went to, and their marital status.

Korean family names are mostly one syllable, while given names tend to have two. The family name comes first (Park Lee-ann). Until you are on very good terms with a Korean counterpart, it is best to use the family name preceded by an honorific (such as Mr), whether speaking directly to them or about them to another Korean. In settings that call for great respect or formality, you should use your counterpart’s formal title and surname (Chairman Park). Some also view their name as a very personal thing, so a suggestion to work on a first-name basis may be slow to be offered.

Placing the beverage on the counter, I say, “Enjoy!” Then my eyes dart to the next customer. “Welcome. What would you like to order?”

After placing the order, Kim Min-young comes to stand next to me. “I’ll take over.”

“Thank you,” I bow slightly, then walk to the back where the staff room is.

Taking my school uniform from my locker, I go to a cubicle and quickly take off my apron and work attire. I fold it, before placing them neatly in a plastic sleeve. Pulling on my school clothes, I make sure everything is in its place, then I go to put the plastic bag in the locker and grab my backpack. Closing the locker, I hear my stomach rumble and patting it, I whisper, “Hold out a little longer. I’ll eat when I get to the food stall.”

Glancing at my watch, I make sure I have enough time to hand in my application for another part-time job before I have to go to Dongmun market so I can help Mom until we close at midnight.

I shrug on my backpack, and with a slight nod at the other employees, I call out, “Thank you for working hard. See you tomorrow.”

Running out of the coffee shop, I almost bump into an elderly man. “I’m sorry, Sir,” I quickly apologize with a bow while I keep running.

I make it to the restaurant on time, and stop to remove my application from my bag before I walk inside. I approach the first employee I see, “Where can I hand in my application for the dishwashing position?”

He points toward the back before he turns to welcome new customers.

I walk to where he gestured and stand on my toes, so I can see over a counter. There’s a constant buzz of clattering pans, clanging pots, and sizzling heat. A chef walks by, and I quickly ask, “Where can I hand in my application for the dishwashing position?”

He shoots me a glare before he yells at one of the waiters who just dropped a plate of food.

Walking to my left, I peek down a hallway before I walk down it. Seeing an office to my left, I knock on the door and bow to the man behind the desk. “Where can I hand in my application for the dishwashing position?”

“Leave it there,” he grumbles, pointing to the corner of the desk.

I bow again and quickly dart into the office. With both hands, I place the application where he indicated and bow again as I move backward. “Thank you.”

When I’m out of the office, I jog down the hallway and dart to the side when a waiter comes out of the kitchen, carrying a tray of food. I wait for him to walk first, and when he turns left to walk to a table, I rush out of the restaurant and run as fast as I can.

I make it in time for the bus which goes to Dongmun market and climbing up the steps, I swipe my card and sit down in the first empty seat. Shrugging off my backpack, I hold it on my lap as I rest my forehead against the window. I have ten minutes to rest and letting out a sigh, I close my eyes. Seconds later they pop open when my phone begins to ring.
"You’re my assistant."
The magic words every girl at Trinity Academy is dying to hear. But I’m the one who gets stuck with Mason Chargill, the star of most women’s fantasies but my nightmare. One of the heirs to CRC Holdings, he might be dangerously gorgeous, but his cold and callous demeanor makes him an ice prince.
He expects me to abide by the Academy’s hierarchy, to be at his constant beck and call. Yeah, right… hell will freeze over before that ever happens.
Unfortunately for him, I’m no pushover. Unfortunately for me, he’s determined to break me.
If only there were a way to melt the shard of ice he calls a heart.

as all the books in this series are interconnected.

Mason

(Seventeen-years old.)

“How bad is this weather tonight?” Jennifer asks while we’re driving home after having dinner at Falcon’s house. “Oh! I almost forgot. I have a song I want you to listen to.”

My eyes shift from my phone to my sister. “Is it another one of those sappy ones?”

Jennifer smiles, knowing I’m only teasing her. “I’m willing to bet anything you’ll like this one.”

Picking up her phone, while her eyes keep glancing at the road, she looks for the song and a moment later guitar strings sound up. It’s a lazy melody at first. Jennifer grins at me when whistling joins the strings, and she reaches for the radio to turn up the volume.

When the car swerves on the icy road, she quickly grabs hold of the steering wheel with both hands. “It’s really bad out,” she mutters while her face is strained with worry. The words have hardly left her mouth when the car’s tail end begins to pull to the left. “Shit, Mace, I’ve lost traction!”

As Jen taps the breaks, I reach over to the steering wheel, but she snaps, “It won’t help. The road is too icy.”

The car keeps gliding and when it’s diagonally in the road bright lights fall on us.

“We need to move!” Fear prickles over the back of my head as my heart begins to pound out of control.

Fuck, they’re going to hit us.

The other vehicle tries to slow down, but they drive over the same patch of black ice.

“Fu-uuck!” A second later, they crash into my side of the car. “Jen!” a shout rips from my chest as our car begins to spin across the road.

“Shit. Shit. Shit,” she whispers as we uncontrollably spin into oncoming traffic. Flinging my left arm across Jennifer’s chest, I try to brace her for the unavoidable impact.

Jennifer’s side takes the full blow as a vehicle collides with ours, and the impact sends our car shooting backward.

“Mace!” Jennifer lets go of the steering wheel, and grabs hold of my arm with both her hands.

It feels like the worst rollercoaster ride of my life as our car pivots sharply before coming to a sudden standstill by crashing into a tree. The windshield shatters, and I can hear pieces of glass and metal falling. I quickly glance at Jennifer, and when her wide eyes meet mine, I feel a moment of relief. We both look down at the branch which crashed through our windshield but luckily stopped within inches of my arm.

“Fuck that was close.” My voice sounds hoarse from the horrific moment we just lived through.

“Yeah,” Jennifer whispers.

I begin to pull my left arm back, but the sound of squealing tires has me glancing behind us. I only have a second to react, and I throw my body to the left, trying to reach for the branch.

Our bodies are jolted forward, and I manage to keep my arm braced over Jennifer, with my fist tightly gripping hold of her sweater. A sharp pain pierces through my left arm before I’m slammed back against my seat, the sudden movement stunning my senses.

“Fuck,” I mumble. I try to pull my arm back, but when it doesn’t move, apprehension slithers through me.

It feels like time itself hesitates, but when I hear a gurgling sound, it’s forced to speed along.

In absolute terror, I turn my head toward Jennifer. The sight looks disturbingly peaceful as horror and anguish begin to war inside of me.

Her cheek is resting on the branch as if she just leaned forward and decided to fall asleep.

“Jen, wake up,” I stupidly whisper.

One breath.

Two beats of my heart.

My entire world – everything that represented home and family – warps into an unrecognizable mess.

Blood trickles from her mouth, and I hear the gurgling sound again.

I sit paralyzed, my eyes wide on my sister.

Slowly, the cold creeps into my bones and I gasp for a breath of icy air.

Scared out of my mind, I raise my right hand and reach out to Jennifer. The moment my fingers brush over her cheek, and I feel some warmth in her skin, I lunge toward her, only to be restrained by the safety belt.

“Jen!” Her name explodes harshly over my lips. Her eyelashes flutter and needing to get to my sister, I struggle to unclasp the safety belt and manage to free myself. But when I lunge forward again, I’m stopped by the branch pinning me to her chest. A jarring ache spreads through my left arm and up into my shoulder.

She gasps for air, instantly drawing my attention away from the pain.

My right hand trembles uncontrollably as my fingers brush over her forehead. “Jen?”

Somehow my instincts kick in, and I fumble for my phone, so I can call emergency services, but I can’t find it, and it makes desperation crush my heart.
Wealth and power make them untouchable. The monarchs of Trinity Academy.
Falcon Reyes.
With a sharp, intelligent look, he reeks of arrogance wrapped in an icy layer of indifference. A life of luxury has left him with the notion that everything is attainable.
Power. Wealth. Status.
He’s a god and I a mere mortal. He’s Jupiter, and I am Mercury. There’s so much power in this man. He has the kind of influence most people can’t even begin to imagine.
And me… I’m an eighteen-year-old girl who managed to make him lose control.
I’m the girl who showed him there’s a kaleidoscope of colors outside the high walls of his black and white world.
Please note: This is Book 1 in The Trinity Academy Series. All 3 books are interconnected, and some plots are carried over to the next 2 books in this series.

Grayson fucking Stateman. With his sharp features and furtive eyes, one look at him is enough to ruin my day. West and Serena being here with him only add to my annoyance.

“I’m getting tired of this bullshit,” I murmur, but it’s loud enough for Mason and Lake to hear. The three of us have been best friends since birth, where Grayson has been our nemesis. Our families are at constant war with the Statemans in the business world.

Lazily turning their heads, Mason and Lake glance in the direction I’m scowling.

“Fuck, how does Serena always know where we’re at?” Mason asks, a pissed off look darkening his features.

“She probably heard it from our mothers,” Lake says, and resting his head back, he closes his eyes. “Mason, don’t get into a fight with West.”

I swear Lake can sleep anywhere. He’s the chilled one in our group, whereas Mason is the fighter.

Mason clenches his jaw, growling, “If he starts a fight, I’ll be sure to finish it.” It won’t take much for Mason and West to tear into each other, and it’s the last thing I’m in the mood for during our summer vacation.

Where Grayson and I are locked in a constant battle for the top spot of our social circle, Mason and West hate each other with a consuming vengeance. It’s been that way since the car accident Mason’s sister died in.

“Gentlemen,” Serena smiles, her green eyes sharp and vindictive. Her styled ginger hair hangs in perfect waves over her shoulders. Dressed in the latest fashion from Versace, she looks elegant as always. Having known her for years, I see through the mask of sophistication which hides a viper you don’t want to get into bed with.

“I’d call you a lady, but we both know I’d be lying,” Mason sneers, the energy coming off him patronizing and explosive.

“Mason… charming as always.” Filled with annoyance, Serena’s gaze sweeps over the table to where I’m sitting. An alluring smile forms around her lips as her eyes meet mine. “Falcon, what a lovely surprise bumping into you here of all places.”

Lake lets out a soft chuckle, then lazily mutters, “Surprise my ass. Atherton’s socialites spread news faster than a wildfire.”

Her eyes snap to Lake but picking her battles wisely, she lets his comment go and focuses her attention back on me. Everyone knows attacking Lake in any way is off-limits. It’s a line no one is willing to cross, knowing it will bring out the worst in Mason and I. Lake is the kindest soul with a heart of gold which makes Mason and I overly protective of him.

“Mother says they’re in talks with your family about a merger,” Serena says, her voice filled with premature triumph.

I grind my teeth and shooting Serena a steely glare, I reply, “Merger? You call an arranged marriage between us a merger?”

“Of course. Combining our assets will make us a power couple in California.”

Like hell. Over my dead body.

Serena Weinstock comes from old wealth and a long line of senators. Her father just got inaugurated into office this term. Mother would love a family tie between us because it would give the family name more power in the legal world against the Statemans. Unfortunately for Mother, I will never marry Serena.

She’s so fucking poisonous my dick would shrivel up and fall off after just one night with her.

I let out a chuckle as I slowly rise from my chair. Biting my bottom lip, I tilt my head, making sure there’s a look of boredom on my face. “When I invest, I expect a return.” I glance toward the stretch of beach so it will bring the point across that even acknowledging her is a waste of my time, “Unfortunately, you’re a depreciating asset.”

Offended, she lifts her chin an inch. Her mouth pulls down at the corners, and it reminds me of my mother – haughty and pretentious.

Definitely not an attractive feature.

Before she can strike back at me, I begin to walk away. As I pass him, my eyes flick to Grayson’s and seeing the smirk on his face, I know this encounter with them will only be the first of many to come if we continue our vacation here.

“West, so kind of you to settle our tab,” Mason says, and glancing over my shoulder I see him shoving the folder with our bill against West’s chest.

Wanting to save face with the rich and famous patrons seated around us, West painstakingly nods although his eyes promise Mason retribution once they’re alone.

With Mason and Lake following right behind me, we leave the rustic ambiance of the exclusive club.

“Are we leaving St. Tropez?” Lake asks once we’re a good distance away from the club.
