“We did good with him,” I said. Because Seth was every bit as involved a parent as I had been. “And I like that he listened and waited until after he finished college to make this decision.”

I think we both knew it was coming, though.

Isaac had taken to the club like a fish to water.

He loved everything about it.

Even the car repair shop he planned to take over from his grandfather.

He was always going to be a biker.

“Yeah,” Seth agreed. “We’ve done good with all of them. Though, that little one…” he said, shaking his head.

Yeah, that little one had taken after his daddy.

Meaning he had done nothing but give me constant heart attacks. He’d even somehow managed to climb up on the roof once, just like Seth had when he was little.

He was forever bleeding, collecting scars like memories.

He was to blame for every single one of my gray hairs that I stubbornly dyed each month and a half.

“That little one is going to be a biker one day too,” I said, knowing it down to my bones.

“Oh, fuck yeah, he is. But he’ll have his big brothers to watch his back.”

That was true.

A noise out back had us both turning, watching as Hazel whacked Isaac across the chest and Clara rolled her eyes at something he said.

The other two were trailing behind, clearly trying to pile on to whatever ridiculous story Isaac was telling.

“We built something really fucking amazing here,” Seth said, exhaling hard.

It took a lot.

So much pain and fear and uncertainty.

Then years of learning to trust, to relax, to rebuild.

But every single moment of it was worth it.

Because it led to this.

“Yeah, we did,” I agreed.
