“Okay,” Charlotte said as she neared the front door from the final bedroom. “That is the penthouse. The building also has an impressive list of amenities, including a fitness center and spa, dry cleaners, a small convenience store, and a restaurant you can have delivered to your apartment anytime between the hours of seven in the morning and midnight.” Her sunny smile made me feel guilty for imagining throwing her out the window to get her to leave. “I have to say the restaurant is fantastic. The executive chef is a James Beard award winner.”
Alex paled. He jerked his thumb over his shoulder in the direction of the door. “I think I should—”
“Great! Thank you, Charlotte. Where do I sign?”
She chuckled. “In such a rush. Don’t you want to tour the fitness center and restaurant?”
“Nope.” I tried to flash her a charming grin but, admittedly, didn’t know as much about charming ladies as I did about winning over men, especially when drunk and horny. “I am in love with the place and ready to commit. Show me some papers, and I’ll sign on the dotted line.”
“Dude,” Alex muttered. “Go see the other places. Don’t be stupid.”
“Nope.” I winked. “I’m sold.”
“Okay, great.” Charlotte didn’t need as much convincing as Alex, probably due to the commission she’d get for offloading the final space in the building. “Come on over to the table, and we’ll review the paperwork.”
I faced Alex. “Do. Not. Leave,” I mouthed, earning me an eye roll and a scowl, but he nodded and folded his arms across his chest, leaning against the wall by the door. He stood a little too close to the exit for my liking, but I wouldn’t push my luck and make him sit at my fancy new dining table.
My excitement grew each time she flipped a page in the rental agreement. Every stroke of my pen brought me closer to being alone with Alex and his addictive cock. At this point, I risked chubbing up every time I signed my name in the future. It would bring me back to this moment of thick anticipation and need.
Charlotte flipped the packet closed with a sunny grin. “And that was the last one.”
I could feel Alex’s spine snap to attention as he straightened off the wall with a gasp.
“Great. Thank you so much for all your help.”
“Of course. It’s been my pleasure. Do you have any remaining questions for me?”
“Nope. I’m all good. Excited to get settled in.” I stood and took two steps toward the door Alex opened, waiting for Charlotte.
Eager much?
“Ah, yes, I can see that.” Charlotte’s sharp gaze bounced between Alex and me as we stood there like two idiots, staring at each other. Her grin changed from professional and pleasant to sly and knowing. “Well, gentlemen, enjoy the penthouse, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything.” With that, she shook my hand, followed by Alex’s, and vanished into the hallway.
I stepped up behind Alex as he shut the door behind her. My palms went to the door on either side of his head, boxing him in. “Couldn’t wait to get rid of her, huh?” I whispered against his ear.
He shuddered, brushing his delicious ass against my erection. “You’re one to talk. You just signed a lease in a building you haven’t toured.”
“Mmm, so I did.” I scrapped my teeth along the back of his neck, eliciting another full-body shudder. This time, I leaned into him, pressing my pelvis to his ass.
“Fuck, Ryder, let me turn around.”
I licked where my teeth had been. If my cock wasn’t begging for release, I could have spent the entire afternoon enjoying the silky feel of his skin against my tongue while savoring the slightly salty flavor.
“What if I like this side of you?” I pulled one hand off the wall and cupped his ass, squeezing the meaty globe.
He knocked his forehead against the door. “Ryder…” The rumbly growl hit me right in the balls.
“There’s something about your pissed-off tone that just does it for me,” I said as I continued to fondle his ass.
“Well, you’ve heard it often enough.”
“That I have.” I tapped his hip and shifted back half an inch. “Turn.”
He did. Our faces were so close we nearly bumped our noses. Our gazes locked. His pupils were blown, almost hiding all the chocolaty brown. I could smell the sweetness on his breath from the iced tea he’d drunk with lunch. My lips tingled as he exhaled against me. What would it be like to kiss him? Would it be slow and sensual, or would we explode in a hungry fight for dominance? I swallowed, and his eyes immediately shifted down to watch my Adam’s apple rise and fall.
Had I ever been this hard for someone?
One of our phones buzzed from wherever we’d set them down in the apartment. The noise was just enough to break the enchanted spell that weaved itself around us, but not enough to cut through the lust.
