I was greeted by the familiar surroundings of the luxury suite.

As I tried to sit up, a sharp twinge of soreness coursed through my body.

Every muscle felt as though it had gone through a rigorous workout and then been hit by a truck.

How many times had he fucked me?

I remembered him stripping me back down to nothing not too long after we finished the first round, rolling me over to fuck me from behind. And I vaguely remembered waking up with him inside me just as the sun began to rise.

It made the hollow space beside me feel more profound than my aches and pains. I knew without having to get up that Lucian was gone. A sense of loss weighed heavily on my chest. The memories of the night before and the presence of the man who had made me feel this way were everywhere I looked. I could smell the scent of him on my skin, feel him inside me and his hands all over my body.

He’d vanished once again, just as suddenly as he had all those years ago.

But this time, the void he left behind was even more personal.

Beside the bed, on the nightstand, I noticed a folded piece of paper and chilled water beside a packet of aspirin. Gratefully, I reached for them. Twisting the cap off the bottle, I swallowed the aspirin, welcoming the cold liquid as it soothed my parched throat. I took another swig, slightly wincing with each swallow.

Curiosity getting the better of me, I sat the water down and picked up the note. The words were ominous. Promises made will be promises kept, but every gain requires sacrifice. – L

The ambiguity of his words had my fingers tightening around the note, the edges of the paper digging into my skin. What the hell did this mean? Stiffly, I got out of bed and hunted down my costume. With every movement, my aching body protested.

The pleasure he’d given me was undeniable, something I would never get over and think of every time I touched myself, just as he promised. Like he wanted. But right now my pussy felt as if it had gone rounds with a battering ram.

Crossing the room, I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the full-length mirror and almost gasped. My disheveled appearance was a stark contrast to the pristine woman who had gone out the night before. My makeup was smeared, my hair a wild mane of silver.

What drew my immediate focus was the imprint of fingers on my neck. Lucian's fingers. I reached up, touching the marks gingerly. That explained why my throat hurt so bad. Mildly disturbing was the gut feeling I had that he’d been holding back last night. I couldn’t begin to imagine what he was like when he fucked without restraint.

I wasn’t confident I could handle that. He’d just set a precedent for all other men. I feared that would have me hooked on him like an addict, completely ruined for anyone else. As sore as I was, my body throbbed at the visual.

Lord, help me.

Glancing around the room, I realized I had nothing to cover the bruises he’d so kindly left me with. I didn’t mind doing the walk of shame, but I wasn’t keen on everyone knowing I liked to be choked until I blacked out while someone fucked me savagely and whispered deviant shit in my ear.

I redressed, sans underwear because mine were suspiciously MIA, brushing my hair with my fingertips to create some semblance of presentability. I clutched the note tightly and ventured into the main living area.

I snorted at the condom wrappers in the small trashcan outside the bedroom door, sobering as I remembered Lucian hadn’t strapped up once. Plan B was definitely being added to my task list for the day, along with a hot shower and comfort food.

Mara was sprawled on the couch, looking no better than I did, as though she'd been through a dozen wars. Her dark hair was a tangled mess, her makeup half on and half off, and she sported a wicked bruise on her collarbone. She looked up, eyes bloodshot, and laughed weakly upon seeing me.

“Holy shit. Looks like you had a hell of a night too.”

Without a shred of modesty, she stood and began to dress in front of me, her curves on full display. As she turned, my brows rose, seeing the definitive teeth marks on her right ass cheek.

Glancing over her shoulder, her light brown eyes met mine and she grinned.

“He didn’t make me beg, but he did a helluva lot of other things,” she divulged with a sigh of pure satisfaction. “That was hands down the best sex of my life. Not a fan of dicking and ditching, though. That asshole could’ve at least left me a post-it note.” Her eyes then landed on my hand.
