“Ash!” Daniel cried out and came hard, his body shaking with the rush of pleasure. “Ash,” he said again, quieter this time, and then he sighed contentedly. He dropped his forehead onto Asher’s hip, his muscles feeling languid, his limbs heavy.

Floating in his relaxed state, Daniel’s eyes drooped shut. He didn’t realize Asher had gotten them into the bed until he felt thick fingers brushing across his cheek and then pressing past his lips.

“Mmm,” he moaned when he tasted Asher’s seed and realized the man was wiping it off his face and into his mouth.

“You like that, sugar?” Asher’s husky voice made his whole body shudder. “Like the taste of me?”

Daniel blinked his eyes open, gulped, and then nodded. “Yes.”

He was lying on his back and Asher was propped above him, his elbows on either side of Daniel’s shoulders and his knees spread, straddling Daniel’s legs.

“Good.” Asher smiled down at him, his expression unexpectedly tender when only moments before it had been rough. “Good,” he repeated and then leaned down and licked the rest of his release off Daniel’s face. If he wasn’t so tired, Daniel was sure he’d have gotten hard again.

It wasn’t until twenty minutes later, when Asher was sleeping soundly with Daniel curled around him, that Daniel realized why Asher had made a point of telling him they were in a relationship. Unlike Daniel, who had thrown his convictions out the window when faced with a hot man, Asher had remembered what he’d said—no sex outside of a relationship.

Oliver was wrong about Asher being dangerous. A dangerous person wouldn’t make it a point to follow his rules when he didn’t bother to enforce them. And a dangerous person wouldn’t look at Daniel the way Asher had while he was falling asleep, his eyes full of warmth and affection. Daniel drifted off with a smile on his face, feeling unaccountably fortunate to have found a man who pushed all his buttons and respected him at the same time.

Chapter 8

“ASH?” Daniel croaked and cleared his throat. He reached across the bed and encountered cold sheets. “Asher?” he tried again.

“I’m right here,” Asher answered, his belly warming at the knowledge that Daniel’s first thought upon waking was him. Daniel’s first desire, to reach for his body.

He got up from the small desk wedged into a corner of the hotel room, walked over to the bed, and sat next to Daniel. A sleepy smile greeted him.

“Hey,” Daniel said. He scooted a couple of inches so he could rest his cheek on Asher’s thigh and sighed happily when Asher began petting his head. “Why’re you up so early?”

“It’s ten o’clock. I don’t think we can classify that as early.”

“Sure we can,” Daniel said with a yawn. “We were up ’til after four.”

“I don’t need much sleep,” Asher responded. “And I’m usually up by six every day so I can hit the gym before work.”

“Mmm,” Daniel murmured. He reached up and caressed Asher’s firm pecs and bulging biceps. “I can tell. But what were you doing now?”

“Getting you a reservation on my flight home.”

“You didn’t have to do that. I would have taken care of it.”

“Yeah?” Asher smiled down at him. “The same way you took care of making your hotel reservation?”

Daniel blushed. “I get distracted sometimes.”

“I’ve noticed.” Asher caressed Daniel’s cheek and cupped his jaw.

“Thanks for taking care of the flight, Ash,” Daniel said. “I’ll pay you back.”

“No, you won’t. I want you to keep your Vegas winnings and let me take care of the flight.”

“Asher, I don’t need—”

“You have freckles.”

The nose housing those freckles scrunched up.

“Yeah. They’re pretty light, but in some lighting… yeah, freckles.”

Asher moved his finger across the bridge of Daniel’s nose and over his cheek bones. “I like your freckles. They’re cute.”

“Cute?” Daniel asked, raising one eyebrow.

“Yeah.” Asher chuckled. He gripped Daniel’s chin and tipped his face up. “Cute,” he said.

“Okay.” Daniel blinked owlishly at him. Then his gaze dropped from Asher’s face and he seemed to notice Asher’s state of undress for the first time. “You’re naked.”

“Yeah, I am. I was planning to hop in the shower, so there seemed to be no point in putting something on only to take it off again.” He gave Daniel a devilish grin and then continued. “And I know how much you like to look at me, sugar.”

Daniel dragged his gaze over Asher’s body—his chest, his stomach, and then his groin. “Yeah,” he said with a nod, seemingly unable to tear his gaze away from Asher’s hardening cock. “Yeah, I like it.”

“Show me.” Asher cupped the back of Daniel’s head and urged him forward. “Show me how much you like it.”

“Are you always this horny?” Daniel murmured as he nuzzled Asher’s balls.

He liked sex, sure. Who didn’t? But there was definitely something about Daniel that made his libido run at full tilt. He twined his fingers in Daniel’s hair and tugged hard, wanting to see the man’s reaction. There was no moan, no shiver, nothing to indicate Daniel was turned on by the hint of pain. So Asher gentled his hold and massaged the back of Daniel’s head and his nape.
