My hips rocked restlessly.
“Owen,” I whimpered, reaching to pull him up. “Please.”
That rumble moved through him again as his hand moved from between my thighs, his arms bracing his weight as he came over me instead.
His lips were on mine as he slotted between my legs. The movement finally made his towel tuck give, and I felt his hard length glide against my cleft, making both of us shiver.
My legs bracketed his hips, my feet pressing into his ass to make him press more firmly against me.
The kiss deepened as our hips rocked, driving us both up until Owen hooked an arm under me and rolled until he was flat and I was on top.
I shifted up on my knees as he reached toward the nightstand, flipping open his wallet and pulling out protection.
I lifted my hips, allowing him to reach down to protect us.
Finished with that, his hands went to my hips as he looked up at me with heavy-lidded, molten eyes.
Watching him, I lifted up.
For a second, everything felt suspended. Time itself warped and slowed. A million words seemed to pass between us in the space between breaths.
But it wasn’t long before the need swelled, and I started to lower down.
Our breaths caught as he slid slowly inside me, inch by inch, until my hips met his pelvis.
I paused, feeling the stretch of him, the pressure in me, the way every nerve ending begged for movement.
He was equally on the edge.
And when his hips started to rock up into me, there was nothing else to do but find my own rhythm and ride it, let it carry me away.
My breath came too fast, got too thin as want clawed through me—demanding, unapologetic.
As my body begged to move faster, he moved with me, hips rolling fast.
A strangled sound escaped me, making Owen’s eyes slit half closed.
“That’s it,” he murmured, his hands on my hips, guiding my movements as my body tightened. “Let go.”
Then I did.
I pulsed helplessly, pleasure crashing in relentless waves as his name slipped from between my lips.
His hips rocked through it, then pressed deep, his own body tensing as he came with me.
I collapsed down next to him on the bed, one leg over his waist, my breath coming in shallow bursts as my heart seemed determined to break free of my chest.
Owen’s chest was rising and falling just as quickly as he wrapped an arm around me, grounding me to him as we both waited for calm to come back to our bodies.
But before I could even pull a deep breath in, I heard a whimper.
“Is that Adelaide?” Owen asked.
As if to answer his question, Tuna came running into the doorway, tail wagging, whimpering.
“I’m coming, buddy,” I said, exhaling hard as I rolled off the side of the bed.
As my feet hit the floor, Adelaide let out a loud cry.
The pads of my bra nearly soaked through in response.
Well.
The sexy part of the evening was over, I guess.
CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Owen
My alarm rang right next to my head where I’d stashed it under my pillow to try to muffle it once I realized Willa was going to have a long night with a very fussy Adelaide.
I went in twice, offering to try to rock or bottle-feed her so Willa could catch some sleep, but she’d insisted that I needed the sleep more since I had work in the morning.
A small part of me was a little disappointed that Willa and I hadn’t gotten a few more minutes alone together. Especially after having sex. But the reality of parenthood meant sometimes you didn’t get exactly what you wanted because the baby had to get what she needed.
Besides, there would be more time with Willa.
I rolled out of bed, motivated to get the morning started so I could get to work, then hopefully get back early and grab a few hours with Willa.
I got dressed and made my way downstairs to let a very tired Tuna—who seemed to have been up all night with his favorite baby as well—out and give him breakfast.
Finished with that, I made two quick omelets—setting one in the fridge for Willa and eating my own as I threw in a load of wash, filled and ran the dishwasher, then took Tuna out one last time.
Finished with that, I dug out a pen and pad and jotted down a note about having fed Tuna and left her breakfast in the fridge, and that I would bring dinner home so she didn’t have to worry about that.
“Be a good boy for her today, okay?” I said to Tuna as I made my way to the door. “I’ll be back later.”
I busted my ass all morning and spent my lunch break driving home to get a few more changes of clothes in the van. Just in case.
When I decided to cut out of work a little earlier than I should have, I went ahead and pretended it was just because I was tired, not because I was eager to see Willa again.
