He slams himself deep into me, filling me to the hilt in a single motion, and I cry out so loudly I hear a few of the birds in the trees above us flutter off into the sky.

My thighs squeeze around him, ankles tightening against him, drawing him in deeper and deeper, completely lost to the feel of this man within me, this man who has asked me to be his wife. He plants a kiss on the curve of my jaw, and growls against my ear.

"Mine," he murmurs, as he draws back and then thrusts into me once more. I let out another helpless moan, my arms looping around his shoulders as I cling on for dear life, his thickness spreading me open as he takes me right there in the woods.

All I can do is try to move with him, try to match every thrust of his body, and soon, we fall into a pace that has me arching towards orgasm faster than I can think.

And he keeps saying that word, over and over again, as though making sure I have really heard it – that I am his, that there is nothing I can do to change it, that he is laying claim to me in this deep, primal, almost feral way right here in the woods.

My eyes struggle to focus on his, but when I do, I catch glimpses of his darkened eyes, the tension in his jaw, a sure sign that he is as close to going over the edge as I am...

He plunges deep into me one last time, unable to hold back any longer, and I feel his manhood flex and twitch within me as he fills me with his seed.

I squeeze my thighs against him, clamping down on him as best I can to keep him in place, and it takes a matter of moments more for me to tip into my own release. My body shudders in his arms as the rush of pleasure reaches its peak, and I linger there for a few ecstatic moments before I come back down the other side, pulsing around him, heaving for breath.

Not making any move to pull back from me, he kisses me once more, his tongue exploring my mouth like he wants us to be connected in all the ways we can be.

Panting, I slump against him, still pinned on his manhood as he keeps himself seated inside of me, pinned there against the tree.

"I love you," I murmur, before I can stop myself. I’ve never been the first one to say those words before, but they just feel right – this man is going to marry me, going to make a whole life for me out here, after all.

I feel like love is the least I can offer him in return. And, more to the point, it’s the only thing I can focus on right now, pulsing inside of me like the last vestiges of pleasure sinking down to my hips.

"I love you too," he replies, and he kisses me again. And, as I wrap my arms around him, I grin into the embrace. I know that getting down and dirty out here in the woods might not be the most sensible thing in the world, given that we could be caught at any moment. But when it comes to him, good sense is the last thing on my mind.

And I am happy to just let my wants take control for a change.

Epilogue

WYATT

"Oh," Riley gasps, as she clutches at her belly once more, a flash of pain on her face. Lucy drops down beside her, mopping at her brow with a damp rag as I pace back and forth beside the door.

"How long till that girl gets here?” Cade asks, frowning.

"Boone said he wouldn’t be more than a half-hour," I reply, peering past the open door and checking to see if he and Cora were any closer.

"Well, see if they’ll get here any faster!” Lucy cuts in, shooting me a look, as though this is all my fault somehow.

"It’s okay," Riley groans, as I drop down by her side, clasping her hands in mine and bringing them to my lips. "I’m going to be fine, really..."

"Just breathe, sweetheart," I murmur to her, pressing a kiss against her forehead, as she pants through her open mouth, her legs propped up on the frame of the bed. It’s been an hour or so since her waters broke, and, thank God, my siblings were visiting anyway, so they’ve been able to help me navigate the start of it – I shot up to Boone’s to tell him to send Cora down, and he promised me that he’d have her along as soon as she got back from town. I know I shouldn’t worry, but when it comes to Riley, it’s hard not to.
