In a flash, Razor was by her side, guiding Pirate to a spot where two others already lay. Pirate grabbed supplies and applied pressure.

Three more small containers remained to be unloaded. Street forced himself to concentrate on his job. He could help with everything else as soon as he had the metal shipping boxes on the ground.

“Get that one next,” Lucien called, pointing.

Street’s stomach lurched at the sight of multiple bullet holes riddling the exposed side. The last trailer had gotten the worst of the attack. Did the Ravagers know people were inside? Or had they targeted this shipment simply because the Devil Daddies were moving this load?

Carefully lifting the container, Street drove to an empty spot. Wraith waited to cut the lock off. His look was as grim as Street imagined his own to be. Street wanted to get these people taken care of and rush home to Rosa’s arms. He needed to hold her close and know she was safe.

When he finally offloaded the last one, Street parked the forklift into its spot and hobbled as fast as he could on his injured foot. He froze at the sight of Lucien, supporting a frail, young woman in his arms. He held a bottle of water to her lips, encouraging her to drink. Something in the always composed biker’s face told Street to pay attention. What was special about this woman?

Tearing himself away, Street dove into helping. As he roamed from victim to victim, he noted they were female, young, and barely clothed. Instantly sick, he understood. This was a human-smuggling ring.

Street caught the arm of the first Devil Daddy who passed. “Is this the MC’s fault? Wraith, did Lucien arrange this?”

The big man’s eyes flared with anger, but Street didn’t retreat. “Tell me the truth, Wraith, or I’m calling the cops.”

“Lucien’s wife and baby daughter were abducted and died at the hands of traffickers. He hunted them down and killed those responsible. That’s how he ended up in prison. These women would be on the auction block today if we hadn’t intercepted them. Now, back off and help them.”

Street nodded as the anger inside him fizzled as he recognized the awful situation had caused him to go against his experience with the MC to suspect his Devil Daddy brothers of these horrible acts. “Thank you for telling me, Wraith. I should have guessed none of you could ever be involved in something so vile.”

“Yeah, you should have,” Wraith agreed, but the fire died from his gaze. “Fuck! These monsters need to suffer a million times over.”

“We’ll work on making that happen,” Street said. He understood his words promised that he would support the MC’s efforts. His eyes returned to Lucien, who still held the woman. Her hand clung to the president’s cut as if she’d never let him go.

“Street! I need you over here,” Dead Eye called.

Street ran to help.

Please let them all be okay.
